Great for making wide surface cuts but.....
I'm glad I have this blade for use with the Fein Multimaster. The only problem is that when you are doing a job like trying to cut through a 3/4" cedar wall to install an outlet box, it is hard to keep a perfect corner. I am not talking about keeping a perfect line, it is great for that, but when you are trying to cut an exact corner with a wide angled blade, it is hard to determine the edge. Consequently the edge of your cut can go a little wider than hoped for, leaving a tiny slit that can run out of the outside circumference of your edge lines.
For making those kind of cuts the straight blades, without the angled sides makes for a perfect job. Knowing where the edge of the blade is, even while it is sinking into the wood is the key to getting your corners exact. With the 2 1/2 inch E cut blade, the tip is harder to get a bearing on where the vibrating edge is going to leave its mark. I'm not saying that you can't do the job with this blade, but for that type of application, the square rectangular blades make it easy to do a perfect job.
I'm not knocking this 2 1/2 inch blade. As a matter of fact I like using it for covering a wide area. I can angle the face of the blade along a line, and as the back of the edge is sinking deep, the front edge is starting a new edge of the cut. All in all highly recommended. PS: Get a square-rectangular style blade as well.

this is probably the most useful hand power tool in the universe.but i must agree with those who say the replacement blades are ridiculously high in price. but it is still one of the got to have tools. GOT TO HAVE IT!!!

get more life ... when the teeth break off use your dremel tool with a cut-off blade and cut new teeth in the steel and stop spending the big bucks for new blades. I do not often share this information....

Great Thing to Have
I recently bought the Fein Multi-Master tool, and also this extra blade. I have used this to remove some old paneling that was located in a tight corner space in a room I am remodeling and it worked amazingly well. It took me about 30 minutes to take one wall down using a japanese trim saw and about 5 minutes with this, and it was cleaner than the job I did by hand, in fact I hit a trim nail and went right through it, something my hand saw could have never done. I highly reccomend this recommend this to anyone using the Fein Multi Master

Convenience but no Quality
I love/hate this blade along with the Fein sander. The tool and blades like this are so convenient; they get you in tight places, allowing a lot of control, but this blade, along with the e-cut blades are...poor value for the money. They are not bi-metal like good recip blades, or carbide, like good saw blades, they're just plain steel, and they don't last. I have a table saw blade, I paid [$$$] for, but it'll last a lifetime, because it's good quality carbide, and it can be sharpened. As for blades like this one, if you're a contractor like me, you better have a big markup for overhead, because these babies are going to cost you. I actually took my complaint to the company; the rep I emailed said they pleaded with the manufacturers in Germany to make the price more reasonable, but to no avail.

saw blade Fein?
I've used the flush cut saw blades for a couple of years to open painted windows in old houses and have discovered the blades just don't hold up. Hopefully the new ones will hold up better but I would expect more from a company that make such a heavy duty tool. I am about to try the metal cutting blade (flush cut) and hope it doesn't clog up. Why doesn't toolcrib offer a more complete listing of accessries for this tool? ... Read more

The Quality Tool Super Deal
The Fein Multimaster is an exceptional tool. The concave cutting blade that comes with the multimaster kit, does a nice job, but it dulls rather quickly. It is not made out of the hardened steel of the Feins optional blades. They are pricey, but the quality is there. The thing this kit does for you is give you the most frequently used blades at a substantial savings over their individual prices. The professional kit that superceded this one, was for the same price, and did not include the extra blade. The price you have to pay for just a couple of the pieces, you can buy the whole kit. This super professional kit is one sweet deal. Softens the price of the tool at least a little bit.

Only buy authentic Fein accessories
I would like to suggest you see my other reviews of Fein accessories. And, I would like to suggest you don't buy from Feinblades.com. They have no affiliation with Fein company. Buy authentic Fein accessories. They cost more, and I don't like paying more than I have to for anything, but, I have such respect for fine Fein tools that I willingly pay more for genuine Fein accessories. These are not only authentic, but, the original detail sander tools. They invented it and the rest have to scrounge for the unpatented crumbs. Good tools
They should really be included with the vacuum but I am happy with quality. The tools are better than what you normally get for free with a shop vac. The floor tool is especially nice.

Pretty Standard Accessories--Flawed Handle Design
This is a pretty standard set of accessories one would expect for a shop vac setup. One could argue that they should, at the price of the Fein, be included, but they aren't, so just deal with it. :-)

The issue I have is with the design of the handle that is intended to connect the hose to the wands. It comes apart with the slightest downward pressure on the hose. I talked with Fein about it last weekend at the AWFS show in Anaheim, and they committed to get a fix for the problem.

Knowing Fein, they'll not only fix it, but fix it well and offer us a free retrofit, but until then, I can't recommend purchasing this set

Not worth the buy
One would think that with a decent vacuum comes decent accessories. Not in this case! A few cheap plastic parts that fail miserably to the task do a great disfavor to the name. The best piece of the lot, an angular handle that also doubles as a suction adjuster, does not stay connected to the hose due to a manufacturing deffect. The other segments also have a tendency to come apart with annoying regularity. I am sorry to say that this product seems to be an afterthought that skipped the field test altogether. Amazing!
This is the perfect tool for anyone that needs to cut fiberglass. It is indespensable and much more managable than a dremmel or other hand grinder. I use this tool almost daily. The only down side is that this blade is a bit fragile and will break if bent even slightly.

Great Safe Tight Space Cutting Tool
I was told about this tool by a freind when I needed to do some work on the inside of my sailboat. The tool works on the same principle as an orbital sander, only with this cutting blade attached, it will cut just about anything very safely. I have used this blade to cut fiberglass tabs away from the hull without danger of cutting throught the hull and with very little dust. I have also cut the 3/8 plywood that was fiberglassed to the bulkhead. I just took my time and the adjustable depth stop and did not cut through any deeper than necessary. I also trimmed the ends of Stainless steel screws off that are through bolted through the cabin top. I now carry this tool with me anywhere I have a job to do for cutting or sanding. Wow is it tiny
I know they tell you in the description that it is 3/8" and 3/4" blades but they come in this little tiny pouch. Save these for your super small jobs. Combining the small blades with the Fein Multimasters variable speed, and you have the capability of doing some pretty "fine" work. Great for the boat in a jar project, or anything else in wood or metal, that requires a small cut.
