Panasonic EY9PM11D 4-3/8" Thin Metal Cutting Blade
This blade will cut thinner metal than the standard blade, but it will NOT cut sheet metal as claimed. The blade kicks back and the teeth are easily damaged. If you want to cut sheet metal, get a Skil saw and turn the standard wood cutting blade around backwards. It does a much better job than the Panasonic, and it is a whole lot cheaper!!! Grunty
I received my 3.5Ah EY9201 NiMh 'G' battery for Christmas, so I haven't been able to give it the test of time (hence only 4 stars) but it's a grunty looking battery.

It weighs 820g (1lb 13oz) compared with only 700g for the 3Ah 'N' battery; and 520g (1lb 2oz) for the 'C' battery (but then a charge should last 3 times as long as the 'C'). To gain the extra capacity the cells are almost square, giving them a larger cross-sectonal area. This leaves very little space inside the battery pack - hence the screws on the outside.

I've read of the previous NiMh 'N' battery packing up in as little as seventeen months. A friend has had two for nearly two & half years without trouble, but he never lets them run down. If he uses them at work during the day, they go straight onto the charger when he gets home. Maybe that's the secret to long life for NiMh batteries.

The weight and the 55min charging time would be the only negatives. ... Read more

Super quiet & moves a lot of air
This is the *only* fan I recommend for in-wall installations! I have used one of these for 3 years in a basement bathroom and have just added one for our new laundry (Washington code requires an extraction fan in laundries)

If you've ever heard one of those hurricane-like Broan/NuTone fans, you'll appreciate the near-silent operation of the entire Panasonic range of "whispertone" fans.

This fan can be installed in both a new construction or remodel application. Naturally it involves cutting a hole in the wall! so do it with care if you're not handy. An electrician will be required to hook it up and may be prepared to do the cutting for you if you're hesitant to do so.

It requires no ductwork, however, as it vents directly outside with an attractive vent hood that features a spring-loaded damper that makes a good seal when the fan is not running. There's also a screen to keep critters out. However, as the diameter of the hole is approx 8" there is naturally a large surface through which heat can escape.

That said, I've never noticed a lot of heat leakage and never had any water infiltration.

Highly recommended! Especially good when combined with a Leviton Electronic countdown timer (such as the 6260) which lets you fire the fan up for up to one hour after you leave the bathroom to continue clearing steam or odours :)

Finally, don't worry about running this for a few hours a day as it draws very little current and won't have a major impact on your electric bill. ... Read more
