5-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this one! Buy a new one instead
I would say this is a great deal and would feel comfortable with it being reconditioned if it came with two batteries like a new one. What do they do with the other battery when it comes back, throw it away? Another battery will cost you around $90 and you need two. Anyway, I've owned one of these for 4 years and it is still going strong. This is an excellent product.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Cordless You'll ever buy
I've had 4 different cordless drills. My wife bought me this one 3 years ago and I virtually used it steady for two years while building a new house for my son. It is a great drill with plenty of power and with the extra battery you don't need to worry about running out of soup.

4-0 out of 5 stars Only one Battery?
A reconditioned Panasonic drill for $159.00 is great if you get the two batteries with it. On a new one you get two baterries for $199.00, I don't see the savings personally.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Strong and Reliable Cordless
We have been using these drills in our plumbing fabrication shop for four years now.Started with two in '98 bought another in'99.We use them to torque No-Hub clamps, tighten U-Bolts(much faster than wrench or ratchet),drive screws, small bolts and nuts as well as drilling up to 3/8" holes in 1/4" mild steel. Also works great for cleaning copper fittings with the wire fitting brushes and short copper pipe nipples when placed over the fitting brush.Battery life and run time is great on these drills and all three are still mechanically good. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Strong performer
We buy our tools for concrete construction and use corded rotary hammers on an almost daily basis for dowels and anchors as well as fastening bracing for stairs and tapcons for forming.
There was some reluctance spending ... [so much] for a cordless tool but we tested ours first at Berlands House of Tools here in the Chicago suburbs before purchasing.
The Panasonic performs as well as our corded Milwaukee SDS pistol grip hammer drill.
The battery life is long, about 100# 3/16" holes, 1 1/2" deep
or about 15# 5/8" holes for dowel rods.
Charging takes around 40 minutes or so.
The kit comes with 2 batteries, some of the competitors only provide 1. The charger also works with the smaller batteries on the other Panasonic tools.
The corded tools still have the edge but the gap is narrowing.
If you are looking to drill into concrete get an SDS, the bits are easy to find at Home Depot or Lowes and they outperform the regular chuck by a wide margin.
This drill isn't cheap, but the convenience it provides was worth the expense.
If you were to purchase one rotary hammer you would be happy with this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!
It's well known Panasonic manufactures high quality cordless tools but this rotary hammer is in a class by itself. Block walls aren't even a challange. Structural concrete is nearly as easy. This hammer's light weight and compact size allow it to fit where corded tools can't. Holes can be started with one hand--particularly useful when on a ladder and trying to drill from an awkward position. It isn't cheap, but when compared to a cordless Hilti rotary hammer, it's a bargin. If you work on construction sites before power is readily available, and you need to drill multiple holes (7/8" solid bit capacity), this is the tool for you. Mine has replaced all my corded and cordless hammer drills and rotary hammers (1" and under capacity) that I carried on the truck. Frequent uses are: rigging TV mounts, bolting data racks to walls and floors, hanging A/V components to structural concrete, attaching various brackets and speakers to block walls, drilling penetrations for conduit, etc.

If you invest in this tool, you'll be glad you did. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, But Too Slow!
It's a good little charger, the lightest Panasonic currently make for their drills (important if you have to lug it far), but I'm a little disappointed that it's five minutes slower than the old EY0202B charger when charging my older NiCads.

I still yern for my old 1.2Ah 'C' battery and it's 15min charging time. Alas, they were withdrawn at the beginning of this year just before I got around to buying a new one.

I note Metabo now have a charger that will charge 1.4Ah batteries in just 11mins, and 2.0Ah batteries in just 16mins, while Panasonic's 2.0Ah 'F' battery takes 30mins with this charger. And Metabo claim their batteries will take 3000 charges to Panasonic's 1200. I think Panasonic's losing it's competitive edge. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars MegaSuperior drill driver
The chuck alone is worth the extra cost. Size, weight, balance and power make it chosen over my other cordless drills by Milwaukee, DeWalt and Porter Cable. I use the other three when I have lots of room, mainly to save the batteries in the Panasonic or we need a hammer-drill. We try to save the panasonic for all the driving and tight spot drilling. The chuck locks up as tight as a keyed chuck with real precision. Full power at low speeds is nice. the electric brake is good and the motor is outlasting the other tools according to motor odors.

5-0 out of 5 stars panasonic 12V 3/8 cordless drll
I recieved this drll as a gift for chrismas. My friend told my wife about it as he is a cabinetmaker by trade and they have 3 of them in the shop. Well I wasn't to be disappointed. I have small hands, but find that the erogonomics fit my hand perfectly. It is well balanced and the forward and reverse are right where you expect them to be. I especially like how you chuck up the bit. This drill has the power it takes to do the job with less effert. I had a Porter-cable and I would choose the Panasonic hands down.

5-0 out of 5 stars The precision instrument of Drill Motors
I have had this drill (actually it's predecessor) for over 10 years. I bought it just as I started working on "Hook", the movie. It had one feature I found too compelling not to try: the speed controller gives FULL or MAXIMUM TORQUE at ALL speeds! That means you don't have to give it more gas to twist harder. That translates into control! Fine, precise control. Amazing. Now after all those years of super hard use, I must replace it. The batteries are ready for the recycler. I am going to get the 15.6V 1/2" model to replace it, and I am sure it will ROCK! Way to go Panasonic! As a Product Designer (too) I applaud your work!

(PS: The main shaft could be harder, as mine bent slightly after a drop...but it still makes Makita owners blanche!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Second to none
It just leaves the other brands gasping for air. High torque in the low speeds and just a great feel to it. Drives screws in any surface with ease. Try a different brand then try tha panasonic and you'll be convinced.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best drill in the shop
We fight over this drill. The loser gets the DeWalt. The second loser gets the Black and Decker. (Battery drills) Great balance, smaller, fits in tighter places. Gets swiped when you go to the bathroom, DeWalt left in it's place. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best power tool I've owned
It's not often that I'm willing to take the time to write about a product, but these Panasonic drills are far and away the best power tools I've ever owned. I just got my new 12v drill/driver for Christmas, and so far I've been just as pleased as with my first Panasonic. I'm an engineer and a tinkerer, not a tool salesman - and all of this is completely true.

I bought my first Panasonic 12V when I decided to finish my basement about eight years ago. Then, like today, the Panasonic was the top rated, but they were relatively unknown, and hard to find. At that time, they were the only ones with a T-handle (like everyone has today).

Panasonic also had a few features that no one else had then - or has today. First and most important was the electronic speed control. The Panasonic has full torque at the lowest variable speed - so you can turn the drill at 20 rpm and have the same torque as at 1200 rpm. Every other drill I've tried, including DeWault, Ryobi, Makita and Porter Cable, builds up torque as the rpm's increase. This means that you have to drive a screw at high rpm into tough material. Not with the Panasonic - you simply drive into any material at any speed you choose. The electronic control also has an electronic brake, which stops the drill immediately when you let off the trigger - again for control. Another feature of the Panasonic was the fast charging system. My old drill could charge a 12v battery in 15 minutes - when everything else took 3 hours. My new 12v takes 30 - 40 minutes with the nickel metal hydride long life battery - I haven't run a battery out yet to see how long these last. Finally, the Panasonic has the best ergonomics of any of the drills I tried. My new one is slightly smaller, lighter and better balanced than my old one - which was very good. Here's what I really like - set any other T-handle drill on a table top in an upright position. Now bump the table and see how hard it is to knock the drill over. Most of them fall over easily and crash to the ground (unless they've got one of those heavy 18v battery packs). Not the Panasonic - this thing stays put - ready for you to pick up and use. This is a great time saving feature.

As I said, I used and abused my original Panasonic 12v for eight years. I drove more than thirty pounds of 3 ½" wood screws for the basement project. I've hung countless pictures, drilled holes, mixed paint and drywall plaster with it - even planted bulbs in the yard with an auger. I've dropped it off ladders and tables, and it just keeps on going. A couple of years ago I dropped the charger and broke it - but I kept using the drill when I found out a Ryobi charger would charge the battery. Recently the original, NiCD battery started giving out. A replacement battery is about $60-75 and the charger is $100. So it didn't make sense not to spend $179 on a new drill, with a new charger, and two of the new NiMH batteries. I bought the 12v instead of the 15.6v to maintain compatibility with the old drill. The 12v has plenty of power for me. So I got a new drill essentially for free - not that I really need it.

5-0 out of 5 stars best birthday present
Just used my new 12volt Panasonic cordless drill today. Have never had a cordless drill before and I looked for a long time at a lot of other drills. The Panasonic is a quality tool- I had to drill into hard maple window casings and the Panasonic did a great job. Fits my hand well and is well balanced. Terrific torque! I look forward to using this tool for a lot of odd jobs around the house. A quality tool for the handyman/do it yourselfer. Don't expect to be using my cord drill for many more projects.

5-0 out of 5 stars I only buy Panasonic cordless
Panasonic cordless drills are incredibly well made. I have beaten my pair nearly to death. Several years ago I left mine on the roof accidentally over the winter, for several months of rain and snow. When the snow melted, there it was, and it has worked perfectly for years since. There are a lot of less expensive, excellent cordless drills out there. If you want the best--the best made; the best heft; the best size-power ratio--I recommend this drill.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just about perfect!
This cordless drill is as close to perfection as a tool could be. I have 2 Porter Cable 19.2V cordless drills besides this one, and I have found myself using this drill more and more. It is relatively light weight, well-balanced in the hand, surprisingly powerful for a 12V drill, recharges the NiMH batteries (2 included) quickly, the one-hand keyless chuck is a joy to use and most of all, the workmanship quality of this drill is simply beautiful. A work of art!

5-0 out of 5 stars The only one for me
This drill is by far the best. I use it professionally, and wouldn't buy any other. It has the longest running and most powerful battery on the market. It is incredibly powerful, even for a 12 volt drill. If you need more power, buy a corded drill. The other great feature is that you can tighten the chuck with one hand, and crank down with one hand and the bit won't slip. That feature alone is worth it. You don't need channel locks or pliers to tighten the bit, as I read in a review of cordless drills. Buy it and you will be completely satisfied. ... Read more

Panasonic has found a way to pack a lot of power into a compact frame. With 293 in./lbs. of torque in low gear, this two-speed Panasonic 12-volt, 1/2-inch cordless Hyperformance drill muscles through the toughest jobs. It can also hurry through easier applications, delivering 1,300 rpm in high speed. Electronic speed control and 18 preset torque settings allow you to choose just the right power for the job, minimizing the risk of stripped screws. Yet, with all its power, this drill is still remarkably lightweight and maneuverable enough for anybody to use, thanks to the engineers at Panasonic. This drill has a sleek, ergonomic design, with conveniences such as onboard bit storage, an electronic brake, and a comfortable single-button forward/reverse switch. Everything is clearly marked and easy to use. Plus, the 3 amp hr NiMH battery provides the highest capacity available, meaning less downtime and fewer trips to the recharger. --Carl Thress ... 5-0 out of 5 stars cordless drill
I have used this drill for a year now, nice and light, powerful, and easy to use. Best tool I have owned.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Drill...Batteries???
The drill is great. It has plenty of power and the electronic speed control is nice. Add all this to a well balanced drill and you have a handsome package. However, I have had this drill for three years and I had to replace both batteries already. They seem to build a memory and I don't know how to prevent it from doing so. I have not used the drill extremely hard or abused it at all, to the contrary I use it but clean and maintain it better than most. I am not sure about the Ni-MH batteries,...

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Drill
When I first started looking for a cordless drill,
I was looking for power, the more the better.
However, with that comes a ton of weight as well.
I had to change my mind set to what
I actually was going to use the drill for.
I'm a weekend warrior type person.
The drill I buy was going to be used for ordinary
do-it yourself work around the house.
I could not justify buying a drill with
so much torque that it could snap a head
of a lag bolt off.
I then started to look for a drill
that had decent torque with a compact
and lightweight design and with a good
battery life for driving screws.
Well, the Panasonic EY6407NQKW 12v.
fits the bill perfectly.
This unit is one of the smallest
and best balanced drills out there.
It has surprisingly good power.
It can drive a 1/4"x31/2" lag bolt in
without a pilot hole in a 4x4 P.T.
However, the real beauty of this unit
is in driving screws.
It drove 332- 2"deck screws using
a #2square bit into a 4x4 P.T. lumber
on a single charge.(No pilot holes either.)
AWSEOME! Other features I liked were
the clutch settings and the electronic
speed control.
The clutch settings are accurate,
and the electronic speed control
works great for driving stubborn screws in.
It also holds drill bits and drivers tight.
So if you are looking for a lightweight,
compact drill with decent torque,
THIS IS THE DRILL FOR YOU.
This deal also included the Big Lugg
which works great.
I would have given this drill 5 stars,
but I want to see how long the batteries last.
This is a nice unit. ... Read more

The motor's speed control allows full torque at any speed, so you can apply full torque while still maintaining control. The tool features dual speed ranges of 65 to 450 and 200 to 1,450 rpm. The 1/2-inch chuck takes bigger bits. The first thing you notice about this tool, however, is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8-1/2 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft-pad grip provides extra cushion and the tool's balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. The 3-1/2 amp batteries are ventilated, so they last longer, delivering up to 1,200 charges and recharges. This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes a 55-minute universal charger and hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best kept secret in cordless drills!
After replacing my 18v Ryobi drill for a so called less powerful one, I have found it to be an excellant piece of kit.
The first thing you notice is how small it is, but pick it up for the first time you can tell this drill is quality through and through. The lockable chuck is an a work of genuis, once you tighten it pull the chuck collar to the rear, you can forget about the bits ever slipping or falling out, It is just as reliable as an SDS drill I feel.
The hammer mode is excellent too, its extremely quick and powerfull and would just go through any brickwork with a decent maisonary bit with ease, you can feel the bit driving into the wall but can feel very litte vibration or fatique, for hammer drilling 5.5mm holes into walls this beats all the so called more powerfull drills hands down!.
The only down side is that there is no where on the drill to attatch your screwdriver bits onto, but with only 5 torque settings this drill is seen more as a hammer drill than a screwdriver. I still use mine for driving and undoing screws and lets be honest, do you need 20 torque settings on a drill in the first place?. 5 torque settings does me fine.
Panasonic do a good job on explaining on what and what not to do in order to keep your drill and batteries in good order with the instruction manual provided, something I didn't get with my last cordless drill.
A Word of warning! You will have to get used to locking the chuck every time you insert the bit. If you don't and you hit the chuck against the wall you will seriously damage the chuck!. I done this and had to get the chuck replaced. But it was fixed within 3 days under the warranty. But there is no doubt this is a serious piece of kit!. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Working in tandem with the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, this deodorizing filter leverages an activated charcoal system to remove unwanted odors. The pliable, mesh material measures 15-1/4 by 1/4 by 10 inches and is designed to fit the Panasonic model F-P15HU1 air purifier. Clear instructions facilitate the installation process and an included filter change indication label helps to track when the next replacement should happen. 5-0 out of 5 stars I cut lots of 1/2" dia metal bar stock
I have the 15.6volt panasonic circular saw and had a job cutting down old dry cleaners clothes racks. I have sawzalls, torches, bolt cutters, etc. but using the saw and this blade was by far the fastest, easiest way I could imagine, it also works great for copper pipe and any metal. My brother does plumbing and practicly threw away his rotary pipe cutters after using the saw and this blade. ... Read more
