I think that these pieces are a great addition to anyones workshop. They work great for sanding in those hard to reach areas and the saws make great finishing cuts. I think that if you have to buy for someone that has a dremel this is the perfect gift. They are great for outlining body parts of animal cutouts. Hard To Recommend This
Not bad for the money but the edge guide's working range of 1 1/4" to 4" really limits it's utility. The edge guide was of no use in routing a 1/2" groove into the narrow (1 ½") side of a 2 X 4. This made the router attachment of no use on my project.

Dremel has the "Shaper / Router Table" attachment and a soon-to-be-available Plunge Router attachment you should consider. I believe the Router Table attachment would have worked for my project. Wish I'd bought it instead. I'll be buying it now too.

You get what you pay for
I was disappointed with the attachment. It's
made out of plastic, and while reasonably firm,
it does bend a little. Not what you want for
precision work. Make sure you use the collet
and tighten it sufficiently otherwise the bit
will sink into the wood as you work. The depth
measurements are just a bunch of lines, numbers
would be nice. I was unable to rout a straight
line with the edge guide, probably because I
was going right to left instead of left to right.
I'm now in the market for a real router. Hopefully
I'll get what I pay for there...

Makes any Dremel-type tool more versatile
The advantage of the flex shaft is that it lets you hang the Dremel on the stand, using a pencil-like tool at the "business end", to which you attach your bits (drill, polisher, engraver, or whatever). Because you're not holding the Dremel itself - only the flex shaft - you don't need to deal with the vibrations and weight of the Dremel, letting you do finer work. With the engine parked on the stand, you can grip the flex shaft like a pencil, giving you much more control over what you're doing. Get this stand, along with the flex shaft attachment for your Dremel model, if you're doing any sort of fine craft work or engraving - it's well worth it.

Do Not Buy if You Own Any Other Dremel than the Advantage
Upon examining the package at a local store, it clearly stated on the front that it comes with an adapter to "Fit most rotary saws." I do not own the Dremel Advantage, but I do own the Dremel 2-speed Multi-Pro #285 Type 5. Seeing that it contained an adapter for non-Advantage saws, I bought it.

Boy, was I wrong! There's no way in the world that adapter works on the #285 model. I assumed that by saying "Fits most rotary saws" that it meant it would fit the Dremel product line. I assumed wrong. Looks like this attachment is going back.

Bottom line: If you own the Dremel 2-Speed Multi-Pro (model #285), do NOT buy this attachment.

Ineffective and bits are extremely expensive
I used this "tool" with Dremel's rotary (dis-) ADVANTAGE saw.... along with three $22 grout removal bits to remove SIX LINEAR FEET of 1/4 inch grout before I gave up. This tool is ineffective and a complete ripoff. It might be effective for cutting cardboard but that's about it. I ended up using a diamond cutting wheel on a grinder (very carefully!) - cutting a channel through the grout joint and then easily chipping out the remainder of grout in the joint. Very useful for hobbies or smaller projects.
I too enjoy assembling R/C kits, and I find this tool useful for that purpose. In fact, I first learned about this dremel "attachment" when I saw it at my local hobby shop. I considered buying a "real" 8 inch (table-top) drill press, but I live in an apartment, so stashing it away when not in use was a real issue for me. I settled for the dremel, and it works fine for its intended purpose. Yes, I agree that the casting on the base is pretty lousy, and there is some play in it which could break a smaller diameter bit. But, considering that this is the only good alternative to a bulky drill press, I can live with it.

Making Dremel more versatile, turn it into a drill press!
The Dremel Drill Press Attachment makes your Dremel tool more versatile by turning it into a mini drill press. The attachment allows you to drill holes and do other precise work without the worry of 'going crooked' as you are working. The attachment keeps the tool lined up and allows you to control it with one hand. The handle allows complete control just like a large drill press. Of course, this is using a Dremel tool and should not be considered a replacement for a large drill press. I highly recommend this attachment and find it very useful for smaller projects.

Low End JUNK
I purchased one of these to make my dremel into a drill press for wood - mostly softwood and it has been a terrible experience. The collars that attach the tool do not allow for perfect square alignment and the dremel many times cant seat a bit so there is no wobble. I was disappointed with this tool. I found that MicroMark makes a small hobby drill press (as well as other great tools) that is sturdy, reliable and excellent. It maycost more then the dremel but you do get what you pay for.

Good for PCB drilling
I bought this attachment for drilling 0.7mm holes on printed circuit boards. It had a little side-play, but rotating the height guide eliminated the problem. I use it with a Black & Decker RTX (yes, it works if you replace the top holding screw with a longer one and force the holding ring a little bit) and the Dremel multi-chuck for holding such small drill bits, and it works great.

I couldn't imagine using a standard 10" drill press with a 1/2" chuck along with 0.7mm (less than 1/32") drill bits, and the drill press adapters for conventional hand drills had WAY too much play.

I highly recommend this tool attachment. I am scroll sawing very fine lines and need to drill with a #72 drill bit.
