Nice and simple
The rack and the 30 clamps arived without a scratch.Assembly is easy.

However, I would make one modification.Instead of installing the cross supports in an X configuration (across the bottom) as suggested in the instructions, cut them down and use them on the outside, between the two frame halves (like a ladder crosspiece).You will need four extra bolts. The advantage, though, is that you could release one side of each brace and fold the unit up to store it against a wall.Some adjustments to the placement of the clamp hanging rods may be necessary to allow the fold, but that flexibility is already built in with the use of hairpin clips to secure the rods.

Can't wait to take it to the shop and hang up all my other clamps (plenty of room to spare). ... Read more

The more you use it, the more you use it.
This is a nice strap clamp kit. The key is the adjusting system. At first I thought, why not just use a strapping tie down assembly available at the local home center, at a third of the price. After all, it is a nylon web strap and it has a tightening and releasing system. The problem is that it gives you tighteness in a racheting fashion. So you are either at one click or the next one. No fine adjustment. Additionally, without the corner braces that comes with the Vario kit, you would be catching the corners, and creating a less than equal pressure.
All told this Bessey kit is a very nice unit, and does a good job. For the money it would be hard to beat. Highly recommended.

Terrific Clamp
This clamp has come to my rescue several times when building boxes, bookshelves, or anything where I need even pressure all around an object. The mechanism for tightening the clamp tightens very well -- first you turn a gear to get the straps snug, then you turn a thumbscrew to firm it up all the way. The corner braces are great when you are tightening a box and you want to make sure the corners don't get damaged. Yes, even though it is a vinyl strap, the clamp can still make indentations in the wood if you tighten it enough.

I gave the clamp 4 stars instead of 5 only because the gear mechanism is a little awkward to use. I emphasize that it is a minor problem. Sometimes, when you are trying to turn the gear, the clamp feels a little off-balance. But once it's tight, and you turn the thumbscrew, it's fine. With better positioning of the gear, these clamps would get 5 stars, no doubt.

4 Corner clips are not enough
I recently purchased two of these clamps to try out. I purchased two of them because I needed more than the 4 corner clips that come with it. Bessey EKT-55 edge clamp
Very pleasant to use. The large metal casting is suprisingly lightweight, and some of the mechanism inside is plastic, so it is nice and light. I used mine to clamp edge molding onto plywood while gluing, and it gripped just fine, no slippage at all (so yes, to the reviewer above, it's great for bare wood). Much faster and easier to use than bar clamps. Now if only they can dramatically lower the price so I can get a bunch of 'em instead of just one...

Bessey EKT55 Clamp
This clamp fills a specific need pretty well (at a significant price). I have used it primarily to install face frames on cabinets. It is easy to use and light considering its size. The mechanism worked smoothly. My only disappointment was that it did not apply as much pressure as I hoped. This may be because it was trying to grip a finished surface. I think it might do better on raw wood. I would be concerned if I needed a lot of pressure and the inside of the cabinet was laminated. I tried the Gross-Stabile model and took it back to get these. A bomb-proof beauty!
This clamp is great for corner clamping! It is strong and is obviously built to survive a lot of punishment. Great for clamping heavy-duty stock together. The only limitations that I found with it are:
* Limited capacity when dealing with T-joints.
* It is quite heavy (is that really a limitation?)

Good, but less convenient than two-step models
The Bessey angle clamp requires that you align all edges and provide pressure -- all simultaneously -- while you tighten the one clamping handle. It is less convenient than corner clamps with two separate clamping handles to tighten separately. Their large surface area provides solid alignment, even if it also makes these clamps more appropriate for larger tasks (e.g., over one foot per side).

Solid clamp but a little bulky
Great clamp for larger glue-up projects like frames and cabinets. It will hold two identical pieces about 4 inches wide. Strong feature of this tool is that it can also handle two pieces of different widths but you then trade off the size of one side to accomodate the other. My only complaint is that you can't work with pieces much smaller than a foot in length if you want to clamp several corners at once. The clamps interfere with each other. Also, it comes with a plastic piece attached to the screw/guide bar that allows you to hang the clamp on a peg board hook. Careful with it, though, because it's easily broken. Otherwise, a good solid clamp, best if you use four at one time on larger pieces.

Great for mending frames
This clamp is nice to use. I found it to be a little akward getting the boards aligned, but once in place the 90 degree angle is fixed and that was very helpful. I've used standard bar clamps, wooden clamps and strap clamps to mend various frames and i found this to be the best so far at clamping a true 90 degree angle. ... Read more

Best band clamp ever
If you have ever struggled with clamping frames or boxes together, you will love this clamp. The adjustable angle corner brackets are easy to place in the desired location and when pressure is applied, it is applied evenly on all the brackets. Speaking of pressure, this clamp can apply alot of it, I mean tight, without slipping at all. The wheel next to handle is ideal because it stores any extra band not in use. K Clamp Bessey vs Gross Stabil
I own several K Clamps from Bessey and I am not very happy with it. The major thing is the plastic. In case the Clamps fall, it will break immediatly. I had this experience a few times. You can not even get any spare parts.
The Gross Stabil Clamps which I own last longer and not one broke. But even if it would, you can buy the parts seperate.

Everything else is fine with both Clamps. There is no difference in the daily use.
The good thing on the Gross Clamps is that they are a few $ cheaper, but not huge amounts.

best klamps I own
Until I bought a few pair of these things I couldn't understand what the fuss was about.You put wood between two pieces of metal connected by a screw - it's clamped!Wrong, oh, wrong was I.I've since bought a "few" more:-)I bought some of the bigger K-body's as well for their size and strength, but they are heavier and cost a lot more.And as the other review stated, if you can't figure out how to use 'em - send 'em to me - I can't get enough clamps in the shop!

Great Clamping Power, Lighter than the "Big" Besseys

First of all, I laughed until my sides hurt from reading that other review.What the heck was going on there?

Anyway, it wasn't written by anyone who used these clamps.I have some of them, and here's the "real deal."First of all, they're Besseys, so the quality is typical Bessey -- first rate.If you're buying these to upgrade from the orange "Pony" brand clamps, the Besseys are a definite improvement.They're much much heavier.If, on the other hand, you're going to compare them to the standard Bessey's, which are much more $$$, you're not going to be pleased.

The real benefit with the UniKlamp is the light weight.Many times, I would reach for Pony's or some other light-duty clamp just to keep from having to wield one of the big Besseys, since they're so heavy.The UniKlamp is somewhere in-between the two, and I find myself using them an awful lot.In fact, they're my favorite clamp now.

Oh... and if you can't figure out how to use them (as in the other review), send them to me!

I won't know the full story until my Grandson-in-law opens the package on Christmas day, but my husband, who has worked with tools all his life, had a heck of a time figuring out how it was supposed to work. The terse explanation on your web page says what it is supposed to do, but a more thorough description is definitely in order!

Extremely handy
Great clamps for two reasons. 1, you only need one hand. 2, you don't need to put blocks to prevent mares and dents.

Great Clamp, Good Size (You Decide)
This clamp uses the ingenius trigger grip design for unbelievable ease of use. This makes the clamp unbelievably easy to tighten using one hand. A few warnings about this particular product, however:

(1) Be sure the size is correct. I think the 24" size is probably a bit too big for most projects. I think the 18" size is the best all-around size. Personal preference and common usage really should make this decision for you.

(2) The plastic construction makes the clamps best for holding items "approximately" in place. If you need total clamping for cutting precision, look elsewhere.

All in all, a good product if it is the right size, and used for the right purpose. A good collection would probably include either this or the 18" size, the 36" size and the smallest size. If building such a collection, I would start with this or the 18" size. ... Read more

These heavy duty models from Bessey are a lot beefier than the picture shows. Definitely a strong clamp. I bought a couple to hold things down on the drill press, and for general purpose work. Could be better engineered
While I love my Bessey clamps, these blocks are less than impressive. The clamp falls below the block top creating an uneven surface for the glue up. The blocks should be made not to protrude above the clamp bar. That way the clamp bar provides a straight resting area for the wood to lay flat.

I will try to remove the top quarter inch from the blocks to make them usable. Otherwise make your own.

Nice to have, but....
if you have time, you can make yourself a set of these with 4x4. These things are handy when you clamp things like frame, cabinet door or even small window frame like I did recently (I have 40" and 50" Bessey's). They hold the clamps level and square once set. But if you have a dado blade, you could make yourself a set of these with 2x2 or 4x4 blocks and save some money. It seems to me only one slot being used at a time, so you don't have to cut two parallel slots on the same block only two perpenticular ones, one deep one shallow.

Nice clamping aid

Another fine Bessey product
I bought this clamp to use for light duty small projects and it has lived up to my expectations. One would possibly assume that since the UniKlamp is the light duty and less expensive version of the K-Body it wouldn't be made to the same standard. Nothing could be more wrong. This clamp is made in Germany like its bigger brother, and the quality is top notch. It performs as well as the K-Body, but is smaller and lighter, and perfect for jobs not requiring the heft of the K-Body clamp. It is still more expensive than comparable clamps but you get what you pay for. I'll add that this is my umpteenth purchase from Amazon and again I have been thoroughly pleased with both service and product. Throat Depth Counts!
I wasted money on this clamp because the description didn't mention the throat depth. I needed to clamp a 3" ear to the top of cabinet sides thus making the toe kick by overhanging the cabinet top. This clamp looked to be perfect, but the throat depth was about an inch shy. The side grabbers wouldn't reach past the ear to grasp the cabinet edge.

The Bessy Beast
The picture shown at this time is not the clamp, that is clearly not even close to a 5-1/2" throat depth. Anyhow back to the review. I had purchased 4 of these Beefy monsters to clamp some boards together to glue them. I definitely got my money worth. First off they are ridiculously oversized (big time kudos from me) huge handle, thick rail and jaws. Coming standard with big pads to protect the workpiece was also great. It weighs quite a bit too, which I like. In fact the only reason I would say someone would not like these clamps is because they are not a big, strong person, and just physically could not handle these clamps regularly. I am a pretty big guy so I can appreciate things made my size. Bessy, in my opinion, makes the best clamps around, and this is just another example of their quality products.

Excellent, Compact, & Convenient Medium Power Clamp
I have lots of pairs of clamps.Quick-Grips, bar clamps, pipe clamps, spring clamps, and so on.Different versions of somefrom different manufacturers.They all have their perfect uses but limitations.The Quick-Grips are good one handed but you have to really work to get good clamping force and workpieces tend to squirm beneath the large puffy pads.Bar clamps apply strong force and have less tendency to make the workpiece squirm, but take 2 hands to set and sometimes dent the workpiece.Pipe clamps with pads are massively strong and stiff but are awkward to install and have very shallow jaws.All of these options are heavy and large for their opening dimension.

Enter the Bessey KliKlamp.I recently picked up a couple of the 8" ones and have given them a good workout in the shop.The KliKlamps are exceptionally light and compact for their capacity.Let's compare them to a close competitor, the 6" Quick-Grip:

Quick-Grip:6" capacity, 14"x9"x1.5", 2 1/4" jaw depth (to center of pad - the real world test), 24 oz., 250 pound clamping force, 3x mechanical advantage driving clamp, $20.
