Not worth the price
Not worth the price you ask? It's only $11.00. True. Don't waste your $11.00. Instead plug a shop vac into the exhaust port of the table saw. The small exhaust port gets jammed easily and if that happens, forget collecting any dust in the bag. If the exhaust port stays clear, then I'd say I collect about 10% of the dust produced. Especially with MDF. What a mess!! I built a moble stand for the saw and folding stand so I push the whole thing out into the drive way and use it out there because of the mess it makes inside the garage.

The saw is great and I'm very happy with it. I gave it 4 or 5 five stars in my review of the saw itself. But this collection bag is pointless. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

Until I get my dust collector for all my tools, I use this bag on my DeWalt 2-speed planer where it works great. I empty it frequently, but that's a planer for you.

Bag Works as Expected
This is a simple bag that's about 12" by 30" inches or so with a wire clip that goes around the dust port. It works pretty well in that everything expelled from the dust port goes into the bag, which is emptied by just shaking the sawdust out through the same opening.

All together it catches about 80 percent of the sawdust - about what one would expect. The cloth is a thin synthetic and there is no zipper or velcro to make it easier to empty.

Get Three
The 4000K must rank way up there with the world's greatest sawdust dispersing tools. My Dust Collector was tried and failed. It is now gathering dust (pun intended). It is a nice thing to look at and seems to fit OK, but you wouldn't want to depend on it. I can't be certain with actual efficiency rating, but I'd be shocked if you could prove it captured even half the sawdust. Get a REAL dust extractor with enough vacuum to suck the paint off the tablesaw stand, and you will be sure to collect 90% of the saw's by-product. A piece of junk
I love the saw (though I recommend replacing the stock blade immediately with a quality blade, try a Forrest Woodworker II, you'll think you were using a top-of-the-line cabinet saw), but this insert is a worthless piece of junk. Cheap, flexible plastic that doesn't stay flat and bends easily with any pressure on it. The support it provides is so flimsy I expect it crosses the line into dangerous. The saw is so great it really deserves to have respectable accessories.

NO longer available??
I had been meaning to purchase this item for some time. This would be a useful add on to the saw and I think the saw is great, but now the insert is not available. When I started searching for other makes of inserts that may fit the Bosch 4000 saw, I found out that others are making their own out of 1/4" or 1/2" hardwood or plastic. Tracing the exisiting insert - or better yet taping the insert to a piece of hardwood and cutting it with a router (in a routing table) using a "flush trim bit". To install the new insert, use carpet (thin double sided) tape to keep it in place. I hope this helps others. I am planning on making my own shortly.

Does what it's supposed to do...
Contrary to the only other current review, I found that this insert does exactly what it's designed to do. It fits well, was quite easy to level with four height adjustment screws and performed perfectly for me. I don't feel that the plastic is flimsy at all. It does flex, but the deflection has not interfered with any normal cutting operations. You shouldn't be putting downward pressure on the insert plate anyway!

I came across the only other review for this item when I just came back to order three more! For [price], it really does the trick & I plan to make more for my other special application blades. The zero clearance insert is a big improvement towards cleaner, safer cuts.

Four stars from me, five stars if the plate were about 5 mils thicker.

One accessory you can do without
This zero clearance insert is made entirely of cheap thin plastic. It's nowhere near flat and flexes with the slightest pressure. When you talk about a zero clearance insert, you expect something that's flat and rigid. It is impossible to level the insert with the table because it is so flimsy and not flat to begin with. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it...Or if they were thinking at all.
Anyways, pass this one up. I'm very dissatisfied with it. It' s just plain useless. Don't get me wrong. I love my other Bosch tools. They're great but someone seriously dropped the ball on this one. I just hope that Bosch (or someone else) corrects the problem and makes a zero clearance insert that's worthy of their name. ... Read more

Ripper's last stand
I am a trim carpenter and need to move my stuff around a lot.Over the years, I have tried several job site table saw arrangments ranging from working on my knees on the floor to various cobbled up home made rigs, to a Delta in a Rouseau stand (which was quite nice) But I will now quit looking for a better way! This stand is well worth the price. It has to be the quickest of any I have ever seen to set up.Quicker and easier than the Rouseau You just squeeze the handles and it opens up and locks. You set the saw on and you are in business.Just as quick to take down. It is great for moving from room to room if you need to. It's like having a contractors' saw that you can pick up and run with. The construction is bomb proof, and the saw is rock steady to work on. There is slight lateral movement if you grab the saw and shake it, but in use, I never notice any movement. It is so nice, that I am selling a contractor's saw thatI have in my shop at home, as the Bosch is a nicer saw and this stand just makes it even more convienant to use. If you are spending the bucks for the Bosch saw go ahead and get the stand, they deserve each other ... Read more

oldfangled, simple, rugged little champ
Used one for grinding and wirebrush several times daily for years at tool fab shop, as did four other workers. These grinders ran smoothly and never overheated or broke. The barrel is a bit fat but still comfortable. I've noticed that some costlier, newer models from some makers use cheaper PLASTIC retaining plates for the outer spindle bearing. This seems like planned obsolescence, and partly negates the durability advantage of a metal gearcase.

Ultra smooth running - a joy to use
I've used one of these for about ten years now, with almost daily use. It is still the smoothest running angle grinder/sander I have ever used, which is appreciated when doing fine work and holding it running for hours on end. It is also more quiet than most grinders (I've used almost all of them). It has adequate power considering the weight of the machine. The only downside is that the electrical cord wires would break near the housing, but it was easy to replace with a higher rated cord. Maybe Bosch solved this by now. When it does wear out, I will definately buy another one.

Best grinder I've used
I've been using my grinder for about two years now...it's outlasted a DeWalt grinder which I burned the motor out on and a Milwaukee grinder whose case broke when dropped. My bosch has been dropped, carried by the cord and used to cut steel in a pinch and keeps on running. I've never had any problems with the switch either. Now I have two Bosch grinders...one for grinding and one for finish sanding.

Too Bulky
The motor housing/handle of this grinder is too big to be comfortable. Holding it for hours gets old! The switch was constantly clogging up. I used it for stone carving, which is dusty however other grinders have held up fine. ... Read more

These are scary sharp
The swiss make great knives and jig saw blades! :-) These Bosch blades are swiss made. It is stamped on the side. The instructions tell you to wear gloves when changing blades. I didn't listen, and my finger glanced against the edge, and it created a shaving of my skin. Do I wear gloves when I change bits? No, but I am very careful to grab just the back of the blade.
Blades this sharp make a very clean cut, and will fly through the material. I cut an eight foot piece of MDF with one of these, using a straight waste edge of a sheet of plywood as a guide. It came out so well it looked like a factory cut edge.
Combining these blades with the Bosch jig saw, gives you the best combination in the industry. Highly recommended.
