Love it!
The Coast LL7526 V16 White Pen Light has been one of my favorite new purchases. It does have two batteries that are Li/3V that can apparently be purchased through jewelry stores and even Walmart. The light is LED which is supposed to last 100,000 hours. I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and use this light to clip onto a wooden tongue blade to inspect mouths and throats of little ones. It frees up my second hand to be able to hold the child's head more easily if needed, and because it's so small, its seems to be less threatening to the children. I plan to purchase a couple more, so that I always have one in my pocket!

a review to SPECIFY WHAT SIZE AND QUANTITY BATTERY is required to
operate this (apparently very nifty) flashlight. For example, the
battery SIZE is "button" (state which model number); the COUNT to
run the light would be ?? # of cells (for example two AAA's, or 2
button cells, whatever...). The reason I'd like to know (before I
buy) is that I'll be "stuck" with a high-maintenance flashlight @
so much money per set of hard-to-get batteries. It's one thing if
the penlight takes AA or even AAA, but when/if it requires a AAAA
or a set of button cells, then the cost and availability of those
specialty batteries becomes a reason to abandon the thought of an
online order for the flashlight itself. Am a virgo... 'Nuff said?

Great gift for the guys
Very bright flashlight (don't look directly into the light). This will make a great gift for the guys in your life, especially if they have to have the latest stuff. The LED means no replacing bulbs and the batteries will last longer. This type of light is not yet generally available, so they probably won't have one yet. This is a small handheld flashlight, ideal for the car or camping trips. Be sure to buy one for yourself, too.

A durable little flashlight
I was so tired of the batteries dying and replacing the bulbs in my mag light, when I found this little light in the sporting goods department of target. Even though it was a bit expensive for a flashlight this size, I thought it would be worth it if I didn't have to replace the batteries and buy bulbs every month. What I don't like about this light is the open face exposing the three LED bulbs. I modified the lens of my old maglight to fit the face. Now the lights are a little more protected from mineral oil and other medicines I work with. Another feature that I dislike is the on/off button. I have only had the light for four months and the rubber button has already worn off. I have to turn the light on and off with a pen. This light is still as bright as when I bought it, and the bright light highlights the small nicks and dings in the machinery that I work on. I still recomend this light to friends and co-workers when they even mention getting a small flashlight. Of course I do have to mention this little flashlight is $24.99. Not exactly inexpensive.

Not satisfied
I would expect high quality from a pricier flashlight. Mine is difficult to use (if you can imagine a flashlight being difficult) The switch works at times and at other times you have to fumble around with it or hold the button down to keep it on!

dimming out as time goes on
I bought 1 this year, and I have not used it much since then. Today, I was out playing Frisbee Golf and found that the light is not even bright as my key chain LED. Went back home and found it is a lot dimmer than when I bought it. Not sure why...? The battery should last long time, and I know I have put less than 10 hours on the battery.

Eddie Bauer triplex light at Target
This light is also sold at Target and packaged as an Eddie Bauer item. It is referred to as a "triplex light" because it contains three high intensity LED's. The technology reputedly was developed by two German optoelectronic scientists (?). The case is silver anodizided and waterproof. It uses three 1.5V "N" cells, the type used in old HP calculators, but readily available everywhere. There is a small hole in the battery cap for a lanyard or key ring. The rubber push button lights the unit when pushed, but will lock on if held down for a couple of seconds. Holding down again turns it off. No such instructions are included with the unit. There is no carrying case...The thing to understand about this type light is that, because the energy is emitted by LED's, there is no "beam" as such. Although the light is very intense (blinding if viewed directly) it lights an area, much like a frosted light bulb. If you need a small work light, or want to read in the dark, this will satisfy your need precisely. But if you need a long range beam, the new high intensity halogen types are what you really need. Because of the use of LED's, claimed battery life is up to 100 hours, and claimed LED life is 100,000 hours. This LED life translates to 11.4 years of continuous use. This means you will never have to replace the LED's, especially because you will probably lose it before then. Not what I was looking for.
This is a tough one to review. As a map light it is a poor choice. The light is a square of red light with A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. That is right. The light is a chiclet like square of red light with a large dark hole in the middle. The only reason it isn't one star is that i think the entire thing is really an emergency beacon. The slow flash and faster flashing sequence work and are very bright. But even with the fiber optic wand the light at the end is not a uniform pattern and is a poor choice to read by. I think it is nice in an emergency to attract attention. But i wanted a map light that was red and small in weight and the light is just too weird in pattern to be acceptable. ... Read more

Maglight anyone?
I bought mine at a day after thanksgiving sale. Ya...I woke up and got in line for the 6am opening. Saw this item on sale (white led) and my cousin said it was a great deal. Bought it and loved it ever since. Gave my mini mag to my daughter to play with. Bought the camping version for my girlfriend since the recent heavy storms blacked out her neighborhood so she used mine that night. What a lifesaver. Also order 2 more turbo torches too.

What kind of battery does it take?
Coast has an unfortunate habit of not including battery type in their product descriptions, perhaps because their products don't take standard AA, AAA, C or D cells. Based upon another description, this one apparently takes N cells. An earlier version that I bought took two C123 (camera) batteries.

The blue lights are beautiful, but not beautiful enough to justify the additional cost and trouble.

Nice Bright Light Falls Short on Quality
I purchased this light for my son when camping with the BSA. On his first trip the rubber "On/Off" switch fell out and was lost. The nylon case faired no better and is now useless. He has taken many lights with him on camping trips. This is the only one that has failed so miserably. If you are looking for German Quality, look somewhere else.

nice, but hard to use button
great little light, but I find the button on the side hard to use accurately, seems like I always have to press it 3 or 4 times before I do it "just right", it's very finicky.

Mini Maglite Replacement
I use this precision machined flashlight on the night shift because the "white" light accurately replicates fluorescent lighting for medical color code definition and contrast.

Wonderful Light
All those little lites that use the AA bateries that you put on your key chain are dim, in comparison to this little beauty, literaly.

It is compact Relativly light weight and makes a bright circle of light for what ever need you have. It has tremendous battery life and can come in handy in many situations.
