Great Stand
I ordered the recondioned model and I am very happy. I received the item in less than a week. It went together like a charm. It only took 1 hour to put together and to mount the scrollsaw.

3 leg stand
If you aren't aware of it DeWalt originally produced this 3 legged stand. For some reason they changed suppliers and decided to use a 4 legged stand that wasn't as rugged. I called DeWalt and questioned them about the change. They informed me that after NUMEROUS complaints they were going back to ther ORIGINAL style stand. The current stand ia a quality built heavy and solid
place to trust your scroll saw. there are also holes in the base of the legs to bolt it to the floor if you'd like.

Doesn't fit the saw!
Unfortunately, the three holes provided in the stand do not match up with the intended bolt holes in the saw base. With the front two bolts inserted through the base and stand, the rear bolt slides off the opening in the rear of the base to a 45 degree angle, and does not give a firm grip, even after adding large washers. This is very sloppy manufacturing. The stand itself is not solid at all. Save your money and make a stand of your own and it will be better than this poorly designed and made piece of junk.

This tripod works
This tripod works for me. It is solid, easy to adjust and has a hanger for a plumb bob so you can position it squarely over a monument. Any experienced home improvement person will enjoy this unit.

The third and best grinder
I had the opportunity to get myself in deep (up to my ears) in a welding project and needed a grinder. Well as it turns out this is the third grinder I have had to buy and it is by far the best. My first grinder was a cheap chinese unit that SCREAMED loudly and didn't last. The second unit was a Ryobi unit available from your local home improvement center, quiet and smooth but with a fatal flaw that was a consant problem, when you set it down it hits the power switch and turns on momentarily flying all over the place, at 10000 RPM this is a problem. The switch failed mercifully and I gladly threw it away. This Ryobi angle grinder did not last very long, another Made in China wonder. Speaking of switches that brings us back to the Dewalt unit which has a safety latch on the switch, that works very well. It's quiet, safe, and made in America. TOO MUCH
I CAN PURCHASE THIS SET AT canadian tire for a lower price and this does not included the exchange.

Make sure you really need this
Be aware that many of the items in this set are duplicates of each other. Also, there are only two nutdrivers. The screw guide is good, and it's smaller and easier to use than the one sold separately. Certainly, the quality seems excellent. But really think carefully about whether the two tips included with the screwdriver itself aren't sufficient, because this set just doesn't add that much.

Best Drywall gun!
I've been hanging drywall for 25 years and this is the best gun out there.

Great choice
I looked at several competitive products and chose this one. This is a very good tool. It is easy to handle as it is light, yet powerful, and the trigger is large. These features give you good control esp with larger screws. I have driven up to 3 inch screws with ease. The nosecone takes some practice to adjust, but once you figure it out, it performs very nicely. My only complaint is that the instructions provided are kind of sparse and you end up figuring out how to use the tool by yourself. Not a big issue, however, as the tool is very simple.

Overall, very satisfied!!

No brake despite what Amazon says
I bought this saw instead of the comparable Hitachi because it was a bit lighter and more powerfull. The product details said it has an electric brake, an essential safety feature in my opinion, but it DOES NOT! I will be returning mine and purchasing another, but not from Amazon.

nice saw, nice price
Luckily, I haven't noticed the flex in the base that was mentioned by a previous reviewer. I have used this saw for several small projects and am very happy with it.

I do recommend adding the Dewalt edge guide, which is available from Amazon. It slips into a slot on the base and is held in place by a bolt. The edge guide helps in starting and keeping the cut square.

Too much flexibility
This saw is a step up from my old black and decker, and the saw has plenty of power. But...the sole plate connection is way too flexible. It is only connected to the body of the saw by a piece of plastic housing that is about an inch wide. As I made a few test cuts the saw would not keep a 90 degree angle. The connection would flex and I would end up with a cut that was beveled 2 or 3 degrees. To me that is unacceptable for a tool costing this much. dewalt 12v vehicle charger
I used the 18v tools to build an entire remote cabin where there was no regular electricity. The vehicle charger works great connected to a 12 volt solar power system.

One of the best things on my work truck!!!
I was given one of these by work. Too bad I have to return it if I leave. Everyone that has any type of DeWalt tool should have this charger.

Good grinder, but they stopped thinking a little too soon
I just got this unit from Amazon (a GREAT store)and put it together. I am very pleased with the smoothness of operation (inifinetly better than my old Craftsman grinder), but less than pleased with the not very well thought out scheme for attaching the plastic vision safety guards and and the aluminum pedestals for supporting the piece you are grinding. The former attach to steel brackets that can easily come in contact with the grinding wheels (not good) and the latter are only supported on one side and as such can tilt when you apply pressure to a piece being ground (not good, either).

The instructions are also quite poor in showing how to assemble the accesories. It reads like it was written by someone for whom English is a second language.

Also, wish it had a brake as the grinding wheels spin a LONG time after you power off.

Overall, a good tool, but one whose designers stopped thinking too soon when designing it.

As expected
This 6" stationary grinder performs all tasks as expected, with minimal motor noise and easy grinding wheel changes. And if more access to the wheels is needed, the integrated shields swing out of the way with a simple twist of a wing-nut. The plattens adjust their angle to the wheels with similar ease.

For the price, this single speed grinder is a reasonable buy.

Solid performer!
This bench grinder is heavy and well-constructed, although the parts do not go together very precisely, e.g. the tool rests are not exactly square to the wheels. However, a bench grinder is not exactly a precision piece of bench tool either, so I don't think my little gripe is that important. One problem of real importance though, both wheels were very wobbly as shipped from the factory. But after removing and reinstalling them on the motor shaft, they do run true.

My First Bench Grinder
I am Currently starting my workshop in my garage. So I set out one day for the basics, a drill press, a table saw, an air compressor and a bench grinder. That day I came home with the 6 inch DeWalt bench grinder. Since that day, I've used it to sharpen lawn mower blades, remove burs from angle iron I've drilled and many other chores. I've used other makes of the 6 inch bench grinder, and they just simply don't have the guts of the DeWalt. The DeWalt bench grinder starts up fast, doesn't have a problem removing neccessary material, and runs very quietly. It is relatively easy to change wheels, the only improvement I would make on the grinder would be to use finger tightening screws to make it easier to change grinding wheels. good torque but otherwise.......
I went out and got this for a deck I was putting up. After owning the DeWalt DW 257 for 24 hours and using it to screw down 5/8 pressure treated deck boards to 2X12 joists the thing wrung itself completely in half. Immagine the look on the clerks face when I returned the gear/ clutch assembly in one hand and the body in the other. Needless to say I got a refund and bought something else. While I love my DeWalt framing nailer and a DeWalt/ Emglo compressor I'm now leary of buying yellow....

Great tool!
I purchased the DW257 about a month ago and layed the boots to it immediatley. I intalled a new sub-floor on the already existing 3/4 inch floor. I used 3" floor screws to go into the house floor joists. Worked beautifully, the screws zipped right in. The depth adjuster worked great.

I have alot of drywalling to do as well. I have been using it for the drywall that I am now doing (waited to write this review untill I used it on drywall). Again, the screws zip right in, the depth adjustedment makes this tool dummy proof.

I have read a couple of the reviews above. You certainly have to learn how to hold and balance the tool in your hand for clean fastening (like any other tool). Once you do that... this tool is it!!

Dewalt DW257
I originally purchased the latest Type 3 version of the Dewalt DW257 VSR deck/drywall screwdriver primarily to fasten 1/4" and 1/2" concrete backerboard underlayment to plywood subflooring for tile work. It drives 1-1/4" and 1-5/8" backerboard screws flush to the surface quickly and easily with almost no effort. The DW257 is very well balanced and light weight, has a comfortable pistol grip and trigger position that make it easy to work with all day long. I like the large variable speed reversing trigger switch and the trigger lock location because it makes it virtually impossible to unintentionally lock the trigger in the on position while using the tool. The 6.2 amp motor is smooth and powerful and because it turns at only 2500 RPM's, it is very quite. I have used the DW257 to easily drive 3-1/2" and 4" deck screws flush to the surface of 2X PT lumber and yet, it can also be adjusted to flush set screws in 1/2" drywall and greenboard with no paper tear through. This makes for a very versatile tool that can handle a wide range of fastening tasks that a 4000 RPM drywall only screwdriver can't. When considering it's modest cost, the DW257 offers better value and performance than many of it competitors more expensive models.
The depth sensitive control is easy to adjust and once set, stays put. The metal tipped adjustment collar locks securely to the clutch housing and has never accidentally popped off while using the tool. The clutch operates smoothly and works the way it should.
Overall, I would recommend the DW257 to individuals who needs a powerful, well balanced combination deck/drywall screwdriver that is easy on the wrist and comfortable enough to work with all day.

very disappointed
Bought this item new, never tried it because the nose piece was so cheep!!!! Could not adjust tip for drywall, could only set screws to deep. Plastic tip wouldn't even stay on screw gun and never used, what happens when if you used it at all the time. Big trouble if you ever dropped it by accident. I'am sending it back. I love all my other tools from Dewalt, would back them all up, but this one. I hope this isn't the way Dewalt is going with there products.

One versatile tool
I've used a DW257 for a year and a half now, and would buy one again without hesitation. Because it has plenty of speed and control to hang rooms-ful of drywall, and torque enough at all speeds to drive 3" deck screws into seasoned lumber. This tool enables me to do the above precisely, and easily. It's going to make redoing the rest of my house, inside and out, much simpler and quicker than otherwise. Enjoyable, even. A must have!
The DW7460 Mobile base is a must have if you plan on moving this saw around. I have a garage workshop and need to frequently move my DW746 around to get the cars in.
1) I found that assembly of the mobile base was easy and that the saw fits on top well.
2) The lifter mechanism is simple to operate.
3) The base is very stable in both the mobile and stationary positions.

You'd think I would learn....
The Dewalt mobile base was out of stock, everywhere, when I bought my DW760. In my small basement shop I need all the large machines to be mobile, so even though I know better I bought a "universal base" and the fight was on. After a couple of months of trying to make it work, I decided that enough was enough and ordered the Dewalt base. Had to wait 2 weeks but it finally arrived. Assembly was so easy I was sure I had missed something, spent another 20 minutes double checking everything. Got my neighbor to help me lift the saw off the old base and on to the new one. The saw is now easy, I do mean easy, to manuever and is solid as a rock once its set down in its operating position. No chance of it coming off the base as it is solidly bolted down. In the down position it has a lower profile and is LEVEL. With the universal base if you didnt apply pressure to the mobile base when moving the saw, there was a good chance the saw would slip off one of the rails. With the Dewalt base this can't happen, takes one hand on the saw to move it around and place it just where ya need it. This is a great addition to my saw and I only regret waiting so long to get it.

Solid Value
I purchased the mobile base with my new table saw. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the base and the quality of the instructions. Setting up the base was very easy, except that lifting the table saw in place can be difficult. I'm a big guy and was able to do it myself, but it would have been easier if I had a friend or two helping. The base bolts to the table saw so it is firmly connected. In use the base rolls very freely and I have no problem manuevering it around my shop/garage. I've used other mobile bases for other tools in my shop and this base is as good or better than any of them.

Perfect in every way!
I recently purchased DeWalt's Mobile Base for their Table Saw. I will keep this short...and sweet!
