An Excellent stand, and very well designed
After a 1-1/2 month wait (groan - no explanation from Amazon, just backordered), the saw table arrived pretty much intact.... the plastic end caps on the table tubing were all crunched from rough handling in shipping (HTC replaced them free of charge in less than a week). All that had to be assembled was to slide on the wheels and fix in place with cotter pins. A variety of bolts were provided for mounting the saw onto the table - a nice touch! The table's design is very well thought out and requires only a few minutes to setup and to take down. Directions are printed on the table's frame. There are storage places for the outrigger supports built into the table so ALL the parts are on hand ready to go.
I routinely roll it out from the garage and lift it in/out of the back of my Minivan. With a 10" sliding compound saw attached it is a hefty lift but it is no worse than a bucket of drywall compound.
I find that it is very handy when cutting 16' lengths of crown and base molding - the outriggers extend way out to support the molding and keep it from flopping around. One of the supports has a roller, the other a ledge so you can set it to either support the wood from below, or act as a stop for repeat cuts, moving the outrigger in/out to set the cutoff distance.
The large wheels handle rough ground and stepping stones with ease. The table is long enough to allow me (at 6'4") to wheel it around wheelbarrow-style. Two levelers are provided on the table legs to help the saw sit firmly on uneven surfaces, and the outriggers are adjustable in height too. Having spent a lot of time looking at the Delta and Dewalt stands, I am very satisfied with my decision to go with this HTC model.

HTC means quality
I have seven HTC mobile bases in use at my woodworking shop and I have never been dissapointed in the quality of their products. It was not a long or hard thought decision to go with the HTC miter saw stand. It sets up easily and is extremly stable while in use. I have the Delta twelve inch laser saw mounted on this stand with no problems encountered while mounting it. You will not be dissapointed if you select this stand for your saw.

Saw Stand
This stand is good in a fixed position, but not easy to setup or store. I just leave the outrigers together, and carry them instead of trying to store them on the legs of the stand.

Easy On The Back
I bought this for my husband, he has wanted one for a long time. I bought the Dewalt miter saw a couple of years ago and he lugs that thing to and from his truck, it's so much easier and he doesn't have to build a stand to cut from whenever he uses his miter saw. One thing to add is be careful trying to tighten the carriage bolts that hold the front swivel in place. They are cheap, soft metal and I broke two of them trying to tighten them into the round holes they go in. Carriage bolts in round holes is a poor design. Front wheel/brake is kinda Mickey Mouse also, but is does work.

Satisfied customer
I bought this HTC base for my Powermatic 8" jointer. It was easy to assemble, the wheels work well, and it is easy to lock the wheels in place. The only thing holding it back from five stars is that there is that there is a space of about one inch on the two ends of the jointer base and the HTC mobile base that tends to collect woodshavings, but this really is not a problem. All in all I feel I got my money's worth and would buy another HTC product based on my experience with this mobile base.

Not quite excellent.
Fabrication of frame and finish is excellent. Easy to assemble. Could have been a tad smaller for custom fit of 54A Jointer stand. What really disappoints me is the pivoting castor. It has one of those swivel locks on the axel of the wheel (can you say CHEAP)which is UNDER the frame. My big feet can't fit under the frame to lock the swivel and its a bit difficult by hand. Would have been EXCELLENT if equipted with the kickdown style castor on the Delta mobile bases. I love the one I have for my band saw. If anyone knows how to retro fit HTC HPJ-6, let me know.

HTC Mobile Base not custom-fitted to Powermatic 54A Jointer
HTC's custom Mobile Base for the Powermatic 54A Jointer (HTC #HSB 2855) does the job of moving this heavy unit around. The front of the HTC mobile base exactly conforms to the curved front of the jointer's base cabinet. However, it leaves one wanting for a better executed product when you consider that HTC custom designed the base for this jointer, only. The base is larger by an inch or so in each dimension allowing the jointer to slide around within the confines of the base's rim. I've slipped strips of wood in to hold the unit tightly within the base. Also, a fault of all HTC mobile bases (I also have my cabinet saw on one) is their wheel locking design on the two fixed axle wheels. You can never tighten these enough to keep them from rolling. My solution to this will be to remove the piece of spring steel that's between the end of the threaded lock-down screw and the wheel (this is what slips) so they'll make diect contact. ... Read more
