5-0 out of 5 stars great pruners for bushes
I like these a lot -- I bought them last May to cut back our lilac and forsythia bushes which hadn't been pruned in several years. The shears cut easily through both thick and thin stems, you can even cut several thin branches at once. I've since used them on average of once a week to cut and trim back tree branches and saplings as well as roses and other bushes. Fwiw, they do tend to do better on green or growing wood than on dead branches. As another reviewer noted, the foam handle covers can slide off but I glued mine back on and haven't had any problems since. The blades are easy to keep clean and the lock keeps them locked even if you say, toss them on the grass or a chair. Note, these aren't for pruning large tree branches or tough, thick bushes but they're great for basic pruning.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not The FISKARS You Expect
Not what I expected...FISKARS are supposed to be high quality stainless made in Finland. These are ordinary steel, ordinary pruners, made in the USA for Fiskars. I returned them. Fiskars Garden Shears Model 9637 are the real thing. But now that these pruners are reduced in price, as long as you know what you are getting, they aren't a bad buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for Light Duty Cutting
These work fine on green wood up to 1/2" in diameter, but anything larger needs more leverage. The lock is easy to use and very accessable, making one hand operations a breeze. The best thing about these is that they'll fit in your back pocket and stay locked. I also have a ratcheting, anvil style clipper that works much better on slightly larger twigs with much less effort.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average shears
The blades are sharp, the capacity is good, but the handle covers have a way of sliding off the handles in frequent use. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This ratchet anvil pruner from Fiskars is an ideal choice for day-to-day pruning. Lightweight and easy to use, the pruner readily tackles difficult tasks such as trimming an overgrown hydrangea or dead heading a sickly pansy patch. Its ratcheting action enables easy cutting with minimal stress on wrists and hands. High-carbon, rust-resistant steel blades and nonstick coating allow the pruner to smoothly slice through stems and branches. The handle’s Fiskars Softgrip insert provides added user comfort. 1-0 out of 5 stars Broken Promises
After only a couple of months of use, the flimsy handle broke.
It didn't always ratchet either!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fiskars Ratcheting Anvil Pruner
Works fine on branches 1/2 inch or less. It is rated to 3/4 inch, but branches much over 1/2 inch it became hard to get it to ratchet and the blades tended to bend. My pruner handle gave out after one summer of use. Fiskars has yet to respond to my request regarding weather they will be replacing it under its "life time warranty." ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Back Saver
I bought these shears to get at the weeds around the base of my roses. I have over 300 feet of roses where the star thistle, bermuda grass and other weeds love to grow. The Fiskars Gardener's Shears made the work a lot easier and I can get closer to the plants than I can with a weed eater. The rotating blades also make it easy to get into odd places and cut the grass along fences and around rocks. I highly recommend this tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile, Well Made Tool
I am very pleased with this cleverly designed tool. It lets me get at plants at a wide variety of levels without a lot of back bending. I can clip weeds (and blackberry vines) without bending over, and I can reach approximately 8 feet high to trim tall shrubs. The blades are very sharp stainless steel and the handles are very lightweight, but appear to be strong. And the adjustable blade angle adds to the versatility.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fiskars' SAFE Gardner's Shears
I have a very large, high and deep(depth is 5 feet)hedge. On one side there is a steep and slanted slope which make the trimming very diffilcult. The use of electric or gas powered shears is unsafe and dangerous. All the hand operated hedge shears I have seen on the market are too short for the task. The Fiskars long shears makes a very hard job easy and safe. Highly recommended. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Spend an afternoon digging in the garden with the Fiskars Softouch trowel and then look down at your hands. Or, better yet, flex your hands. Notice the lack of calluses and pain-free sensation flowing through your fingertips? This garden trowel is indispensable to any garden tool collection thanks to Fiskars's patented Softouch design, which provides maximum comfort and results in less hand fatigue because the wrist remains in a neutral position during use. This one-piece, high-strength cast-aluminum trowel also features beveled edges, a hanging hole, and graduation marks in the transplanter. This trowel is just one of a large line of Fiskars tools ideal for planting, cultivating, weeding, and transplanting. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good product, but don't get too enthused over the hang hole
This is my third trowel, so I am obviously sold on the usefulness of the little machines! If you are a busy person--not necessarily a BUSINESS person, but a person who has a busy life, and has to remember lots of information, keep lots of appointments, dig often, etc., I believe you will fall in love with these devices if you try them. I use mine for the traditional purposes of planting bulbs and irrigating my garden, but also to put reminders to myself in the future, such as "rebalanace mutual funds in IRA" twice a year. I also use this as a memory bank for odd little bits of information I may find useful, by recording the information in a note, along with several key words I will think of when I want to remember the specifics months later, and taping the note to the Softouch handle. I search for the keywords, and there is the note, displayed so I can see it.

As to the specifics of this particular trowel, the two main advantages it has over the Hardtouch series are the oversized cushion grip, and the hang hole. Bluntly, I am unimpressed with the hang hole. You can hang the Softouch on a nail, but not on a hook. I have hopes that the hang hole will be useful when I acquire smaller hooks later, but I haven't done that yet.

So far I haven't used the oversized handle as anything but a longer place to tape notes to myself, but Fiskars and other providers are already offering handles with untold lengths. Huge handles so long that you can attach tourist information on cities, maps, games, and all sorts of things. It looks like this will be good, if your needs extend to that.

I highly recommend this product if you are buying your first trowel, or if you have a very old one (Ultra Hardtouch or something) you want to upgrade. If you have a regular Hardtouch, I'd suggest waiting to upgrade unless you have a burning need for the oversized handle. ... Read more

Produced by a leader in the garden tools market, Fiskars's deluxe pruning saw is ideal for removing large limbs. The pruner features a hardened stainless-steel blade designed for durability, and Fiskars's unique tooth design: the teeth are angled to cut with less vibration, and the variable triple-angle teeth "plane" away wood faster than ordinary triple-angle designs. With a quick-release push-button blade lock and a textured handle for a secure grip, the pruner is clearly designed with safety and comfort in mind. Limited lifetime warranty. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Portable, light weight, effective
I purchase a saw to fit in a small toolbox on a small tractor / riding mower. I keep it with me to cut branches that grow low. (You know the kind that hit you in the head when out mowing the grass). Now I stop (hopefully before getting hit with an un-seen branch) and cut off the culprit. Its small enough with a tight enough blade pitch to cut small branches, and large enough to cut branches as large as about 1-3" before you'll want a bow saw or the like. It folds small enough to safely carry in your pocket while also hand carrying a large pruner or other tools.

5-0 out of 5 stars love it
I bought this because I mixed up the brand name of what I was actually looking for, but I found it to be excellent for what I need. It fits in my bucket with all my other garden tools and it's the only saw I have that I can stick in my back pocket. Great product, I would recommend it as a must have item.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one sharp [thing]
I got one of these last year and have pruned many trees with it and it' still sharp as a sonofagun. This is the only pruning saw you need. I've cut through branches 6"+ with great results; nice neat and clean cuts. This saw is so excellent I bought another one this year for when I lose the other one. Just be careful and wear loves when using this saw, it's so sharp, I never fail to cut myself every time I use it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Light Duty Pruning
This baby is wicked sharp! I have cut off limbs up to 3" in diameter with it. I usually grab my bowsaw for anything larger. The multiple rows of teeth remind me of Bosch jigsaw blades - a separate row of teeth cuts each side of the kerf. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy Tool To Have
Fiskars makes the best tools due to there well thought out design, light weight, durability, easier to find due to brighter color on their products and cost is in line with other compareable tools. Upon opening the pruner I was surprised to discover the handle opening was a bit wide for a females hand and initially thought Oh No, I'll never use these due to being uncomfortable for my (med-lg) hand and thought why didn't they make the female version of this pruner with the handle distance not so wide and it would be a great tool. As I started to investigate I remembered the manufactures review had stated something about 2 ways to adjust - well this is another reason I am going to invest in Fiskars, the 2nd way to adjust was for the handle opening distance which with a push of the finger on a 2nd switch made it the perfect size for anyones hand and it cuts great too. Fiskars is the tool of choice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars perfect for rag quilting
the very best tool to use to complete the technique and look for the rag quilting seams, easy on wrist and perfect for avoiding the complications of repetitive motions associated with carpal tunnel syndrome. The spring action in the pruner works excellently when cutting thru several layers of fabric at a time, which in turn eases the human strengh to cut thru the fabric layers.
the shears shape and size are a perfect fit for being in control of fabric and shears,I ordere three pairs.

2-0 out of 5 stars so-so
The blades are sharp and work well (one serrated and one smooth edge) and the handles are comfortable but these shears have a serious design flaw -- the locking mechanism (the little orange plastic rectangle in the picture) is supposed to slide down and grip the junction where the blades meet, thus locking them. Unfortunately, if you're pointing the shears downwards while cutting, it often slides down of it's own accord and locks the blades while you are trying to use them. You can remove the orange locking piece (it snaps on and off) but then you run the risk of losing it, forgetting where you put it, accidently stepping on it, etc. [...T]hese should have a more sophisticated and reliable locking device.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional!!
These snips do an excellent job around the garden, whether it's deadheading annuals, trimming out dead foliage from houseplants, or nipping off a bit of catnip for the felines. The serrated blades are plenty strong, and are tapered towards the tip, which makes selecting the right stem to snip just that much easier. The action of the handles is firm and smooth. An all- around excellent product. ... Read more
