Amazon.com Review

When it comes to pocket multitools, nobody innovates quite like Leatherman. The XE6 is the flagship of the new Juice line, and it packs more tools into a smaller, tighter package than any multitool we've seen yet. Like all the Juice tools, the XE6 sports anodized-aluminum handles in a cool color, in this case "Storm Gray". Only 3.2 inches long, and weighing a mere 6.8 ounces, the XE6 is small enough to be comfortably carried in a pocket. Like all Leatherman tools, the XE6 butterflies open, exposing needle-nose pliers, wire cutters/stripper, an extra-small screwdriver, a small screwdriver, a large screwdriver, and a Phillips driver. A straight knife, a serrated knife, a saw, a diamond file, scissors, an awl, a corkscrew, and a bottle opener can all be quickly accessed from outside the tool. We especially like the satisfying way the Juice models positively click into the open position. The individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel, the same quality found on other Leatherman tools. The XE6 does lack the positive blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click securely into place and are far less likely to collapse than the blades on traditional pocketknives. We think most people will find the missing lock outweighed by the advantages of the sleek, compact design. A smart choice for people who want the full complement of tools, the XE6 is a sure-fire gift for the technophiles and gadget lovers in your life. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing.
The latest from Leatherman is a GREAT tool. Rounded handle is more comfortable than older models' handles for plier use. I'm glad they came out with the neutral colors for the Juice line too. I just can't wait for them to make customizable tools with options like a nail clipper and nail file, and they should be engraveable too! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

The Wave is the flagship of the Leatherman line, and we would argue that it's the company's most versatile multitool to date. It comes loaded with 17 different tools, including everything from pliers to screwdrivers to wire cutters. We really like the Wave's quality construction, its four locking blades, and the fact that the user can get at the knife without having to open up the whole tool--a nice improvement over the original model. While nobody's going to replace a tool set or do major auto repairs with the Wave, it's absolutely invaluable for a wide range of quick, on-the-spot jobs. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The classic just got better
I bought my original Leatherman tool 15 years ago, and it's served me well. Since then, as one of my quests in life is for the ultimate multitool, I've bought at least a couple of dozen other multitools by various makers, most of which I don't even use since I still prefer my trusty old Leatherman most of the time. But when I saw a good price on this one, I jumped at it. I figured what the hell, you can't have too many tools in your life that you don't use, so I bought it. But I'm happy to say this is probably my favorite multitool, as far as ease of use, versatility, and overal design and qualty of construction is concerned, such as the convenient one-handed opening on the blades. Since then Tim Leatherman has come out with the Leatherman Flair and the Crunch, or locking plier, but I think I prefer this one to those too. I also have his Supertool, which is great, although a little bit too big to carry all the time, but those big regular and serrated blades are pretty impressive. But I think the Wave edges out even the Supertool. So overall, a great tool and well worth the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful Companion for Photographers
As a photographer, I wanted a smallish multi-tool to carry in my camera bag that would help me out with those little equipment failures and creative gerry-rigging in the field. I looked at Swiss Army, Spyderco, Gerber, and Leatherman multi-tools before choosing the Wave. I chose it because it has the largest number of tools that would be useful to me. And I've been happy with my choice.

The Wave has four tools that you can access without opening the entire tool. These four tools lock, as well: a serrated blade, a file, a straight blade, and a saw. These blades are about 2 3/4 inches long and are easy to pull out.

These additional tools can be accessed only when the Wave is open: a bottle opener, a phillips screwdriver, four sizes of flat screwdrivers, a lanyard hole, and scissors. These tools can be difficult to pull out. I frequently have to pull out a bunch of them and stuff the ones I don't want back in. The scissors will cut paper and cardboard easily, if slowly. These tools don't lock, but they stay in place pretty well.

The pliers open 1 1/2 inches wide. The wire cutter works decently. I've used sharper, but these cut wire in a few tries if not on the first try.

The Leatherman Wave is 6 1/4 inches long when open and 4 inches long when closed. It is reasonably comfortable to use although I think my hands would ache if I had to use it for a long time.

All in all, the Wave is compact, useful and an excellent addition to the gadget bag of any photographer. If you need a really sharp knife, I have a Spyderco that is much sharper. For heavy duty work that requires a lot of torque, you'll need real screwdrivers. Jacks-of-all-trades are masters of none, as they say. But for light work and emergencies in the field, the Wave fills the bill quite nicely. If you have equipment that requires an allen wrench or hex tips, consider getting the Tool Adapter for the Wave also.

2-0 out of 5 stars A Tool Only for Die Hard McGyver Fans
This 1000+ tool doesn't really do much because it weighs 10 lbs and is rather awkward, most of the tools are difficult to pull out and you need instructions because they are so compact and held together by a balstan ring which makes it hard to turn at angles. I took this with me to the mountain ranges of Oslo and threw it away because it was so terrible to carry around.

5-0 out of 5 stars Whatta Tool!!
I like tools! My problem is- usually they are where I am not! However- The 'Wave'- Hanging on my belt at all times- it is there and- it is indispensible! Just worked my cabin over in Alaska- used that little tool constantly- Even cut out the 'Moon' on my Outhouse door-with it! If you need one tool-to pack-and of the highest quality and versatility- The Leatherman Wave is it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Hard Worker
I just recived the Leatherman wave in the mail today and I decided to mow the lawn and there were some trees in the way of the mower so I decided to test out the new knife. I was cutting through 1 1/4 in wood and it was like a hot knife cutting through butter! That pice of wood was gone in 10 seconds! It is the best saw blade I have ever had. Also the knives are very sharp when you first get the knife which is very impressive. I would recomend this knife to any one! And with this price why wait? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Tool 200 Rocks
The hit the nail on the head with this one - super tool. I use it in concert with a smaller Leatherman when two tools are required, e.g., a screwdriver and plyers. Buy a smaller Leatherman for lighter duty task, but take grab this for jobs that are less convenience and more tool oriented, e.g., camping, remodeling, etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great Improvement
I own a Leatherman supertool, and it has served me faithfully for a long time. When Leatherman came out with the "200" I knew instantly that I had to upgrade, and I haven't been disappointed. The curled edges and lock releases were perfect additions to a nearly perfect tool. Obviously, a multi-tool is no replacement for a well stocked tool box. Be especially careful with electrical work. I was removing a Battery from a truck and accidentally touched the terminal screw and the frame at the same time. The arc ruined the tip of the medium flat tip screwdriver. Of all the multi-tools I've tried though, this is the best one hands down, and for what it is, nothing compares.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Essential!
If every company produced products like Leatherman and backed their products like Leatherman, the world would be a better place. I use my Supertool every day and feel lost without it. It's like a comprehensive tool kit in one small and sturdy package. Even if I forget every other tool I need for a job, I usually can still manage if I have my Supertool with me. Thanks Leatherman for making something actually worth every penny I paid... times 1,000!

5-0 out of 5 stars HEAVY-DUTY
This is a real man's multi-tool.
Pros:
1) Will beat-up any of the other multi's in a street fight.
2) The Best file on any multitool ever made. One side is rough-cut and the other side is an even rougher cross-cut! Leave the wimpy diamond files found on other leathermans for fish hooks.
3) This thing can even be used as a hammer if need be. Nothing is going to snap off.
4) Great engineering.

Cons:
1) Why include a mini screwdriver? Many Leatherman reviewers have said that this item is easily bent.
2) When pulling one tool open, they all come out to say hello.
3) You need to open the pliers to get to the tools.
4) The worst part of a brand new tool is that the locking mechanism is TIGHT. Watch your fingers when trying to pull open and close the short sharp-edged tools.

Conclusion:
It's my second favorite tool, right after the Victorinox SwissTool RS.(but the Swisstool's "bull-nose" pliers can't get-in close like the Leatherman's)

5-0 out of 5 stars This many tools could never fit in your pocket?
This tool is a life saver. I have had mine since it came out and haven't been displeased in the least. I especially like the addition of the file. It comes in very handy and can do anything from file down a stripped screw to file your fingernails. The craftmanship is superb and considering it fits in your pocket does amazing things. I highly reccomend this item, it has served me well for years without a hint of wear. It still looks brand new! Great for the glove compartment of the car too. I took out my tool box after keeping another Leatherman in my truck. The price has come down as well. I would still gladly pay the $100 I paid for my first one again. I have given them as 'well received'
gifts as well. It is the best pocket size tool on the market. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Packing 14 individual tools into a remarkably compact, metallic blue, anodized-aluminum body, Leatherman's cool new CS4--a.k.a. the Glacier--is a midsize member of the company's exciting, new Juice line of multitools. Only 3-1/4 inches long, and weighing a mere 5-1/2 ounces, the Glacier really is small enough to carry comfortably in your pocket. Like other Leatherman tools, the Glacier butterflies open, exposing the needle-nose pliers/wire cutters/wire stripper, with access to three flat-head screwdrivers, a Philips driver, and a lanyard attachment--the same tools you'll find inside Leatherman's KF4 Solar. The Glacier's handles, however, harbor a different combination of tools that are perfect for picnickers: scissors, a can/bottle opener, corkscrew, a saw, an awl, and a straight knife. Like the entire Leatherman's Juice line, the Solar positively snaps into the open position, and the individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel. The Juice multitools do lack the blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click crisply into place and hold securely. Looking for a gift for your favorite technophile or gadget lover? You can't go wrong with the Glacier. Made in the USA. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best pocket knife in existence!
WOW! This is an absolutely extraordinary tool. There is no question that I would have to rank it not only as the best pocket knife I've ever used (by a country mile), but also as a definite contender for "product of the year" across categories. I'm the kind of guy who always carries a pocket knife in my back pocket; I've done so for several decades, and have been through virtually every one of the Swiss Army varieties, plus a couple of Leatherman Micras. Since I'm not working on cars or using this as an industrial tool, there's no way that I could (or would want to) fit a full-size Leatherman Wave into my pants pocket. I liked all the tools on the Swiss Army knives, and loved the size, quality and flexibility of the Micra. But then...

...ahh! I came across a Juice display at a retail store, and it was love at first sight! The Juice CS4 is, to my mind, the absolutely ideal combination of size, style, tools, build-quality and functionality that I have ever seen, and without a close second. Let's step through it:

The packageis bigger than a Micra, but much smaller than a full-size Leatherman; about the size of a medium-large penknife. The color is cool blue, which I happen to find quite attractive. The tools are everything you'd expect, and then some. There's an open-spiral corkscrew (the best kind), which actually has an "assist", just like a professional bartender's folding corkscrew. I have *never* seen this on any other pocketknife. The primary fold-out tool is a gorgeous pair of needlenose pliers with wire cutters (unlike the Micra, which only has a scissors), but it ALSO has a strong fold-out scissors on the side. NEAT!

Let's keep going! When it comes to screwdrivers, you just can't beat this thing: it has small, medium and large flat-heads, plus a Phillips (not a dinky flat one, but a real, 3-D one) and best of all, every one of these blades flips out from the center, allowing you to re-close the handles and have a superbly balanced, correctly proportioned, long-handled screwdriver; the best I've ever seen, without question. But don't stop there. This thing has a saw, a can/bottle opener, and an awl with sewing eye.

And a knife! A nice, loooong one that is the sharpest I have ever seen on a pocket tool. It has a solid, tapered blade that cuts through stuff like butter, making it a joy to use.

I realize, on re-reading what I've written so far, that it must sound as though I've gone off my rocker (or work for Leatherman, which, of course, I don't). I really am aware that one just isn't supposed to have feelings like this about a pocketknife! But all I can say is that I simply adore this tool, carry it with me 24/7, and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is simply the finest combination/compromise on size, style and functionality that you will find in a pocket tool (including the rest of the Juice line). It is more costly than most, but without question worth the price. Trust me on this [grin].

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice for light labor, but less usable than others
I have the CS4, the Wave and a Supertool. I wear my Wave on my belt all the time. This would be my last choice for carrying around on a daily basis.

The bad: Everything is stiffer than my Wave (even a new Wave). The screwdrivers are harder to get out, since some of the nail nicks are shallow and things start out pretty tight. The blade is short and none of the tools lock. Things are not as thick/robust as the Wave, but it is a Leatherman tool: build quality is high.

The good: Everything's small and nothing locks. This is a tool to carry around when you don't want to carry a Wave. It's got enough tools to handle most situations, including a corkscrew. (Yes, I got it for the corkscrew.) It's got enough stuff to be useful in a pinch, but isn't as generally useful as the Wave.

Basically, this tool won't displace my Wave for most days, but it'll be great when my wife won't let me walk around with a bigger tool.

If you're looking for a general multitool, I'd recommend looking at the Wave or Supertool before choosing this one. The CS4 is slightly more expensive but less usable. If you really need a small tool or the corkscrew, this would be a decent choice for your only tool.

2-0 out of 5 stars CS4 tools needs improvement
We bought two of this because it looks so great in the review and advertisement. After using it for a month, there are some flaws, which should be improved to make it a practical tool. Does anyone know what's the awl for? To us, it is too blunt to be useful. It should have sharper edge so we can actually open envelopes, remove staples, etc. The set of screw drives is comprehensive but take care not to exert too much force on them especially the small one, the tip WILL BEND. Anyway, it was be repaired with the other CS4 :-). If you are a Swiss knife user, you will find the Philips screw tip drive too big for common screws found in the office. Also, you should be real careful about the blade, cause it is really sharp... it hurts but we love it. If you are not too fussy about the strength of the tool, go get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little Multitool
I recieved this a gift and I can tell you that it's one of the best tools I've ever used. However, I do have two concerns. One is that the blades don't lock which means that if enough pressure is applied, it can hurt someone by folding in. As well, the saw has a tendency to fold onto the awl, I have to use quite a bit of force to make sure that it folds properly. However, the blade is really sharp and the screwdriver bits are the best I've ever seen. As well the tools open with a solid click which is somewhat reassuring. This tool is right for you if your looking for a small multi-tool that will be used for general not industrail use!

4-0 out of 5 stars Does Leatherman even have customer service?
Twenty Five Year Warranty! boasts the literature. Leatherman's warranty department was completely non-responsive to an emailed query re an anodizing issue. (The anodizing was chipping and flaking off of 1 of 2 I had name-engraved as Christmas gifts- admittedly a bit of a self-imposed problem, but one which deserved a response or reprimand nonetheless.) I ended up sending it (the email) about a half-dozen times, copying both their warranty and marketing departments. Zero. No response - nothing. I would have preferred they tell me to kiss-off, get a life, get a clue, quit engraving, buy a Gerber, etc., but to completely ignore a customer is poor customer service for which one has no recourse save for a forum like this. I have purchased 5 different Leathermans (gifts) and to be utterly ignored is most disconcerting.

As for the product itself, it is an invaluable tool which has become a part of my everyday life - a third hand if you will. I feel naked without it. I've noted that one half of the Juice is slightly wider than its opposite, which I find slightly odd, but typical amongst all like models.

So, c'mon Leatherman, if anyone is listening - please respond to your faithful devotees when asked! You're not the only game in town.

Lastly, at the risk of irritating the Amazon.com police, I've since learned not to have the tools engraved by an outside engraver, rather I now order them thru gunthergifts.com, a Leatherman authorized retailer and engraver (althought they seem to use an etch or perhaps some type of paint similar to what's already on the tool's logo.) Not sure about now, but they were cheaper than Amazon when I last purchased a month or so ago. Enjoy! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

When it comes to pocket multitools, nobody innovates quite like Leatherman. The XE6--a.k.a. Thunder--is the flagship of the new Juice line, and it packs more tools into a smaller, tighter package than any multitool we've seen yet. Like all the Juice tools, the Thunder sports anodized-aluminum handles in a cool color, in this case purple. Only 3.2 inches long, and weighing a mere 6.8 ounces, the Thunder is small enough to be comfortably carried in a pocket. Like all Leatherman tools, the Thunder butterflies open, exposing needle-nose pliers, wire cutters/stripper, an extra-small screwdriver, a small screwdriver, a large screwdriver, and a Philips driver. The Thunder does lack the positive blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click securely into place and are far less likely to collapse than the blades on traditional pocketknives. We think most people will find the missing lock outweighed by the advantages of the sleek, compact design. A smart choice for people who want the full complement of tools, the Thunder is a sure-fire gift for the technophiles and gadget lovers in your life. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Durable Tool
I came into possession of a Juice in rather odd way. Mine came from under eight inches of sand at a saltwater beach in Southern Maine as a response from my metal detector.

What a great find! This tool was encrusted with salt sand, and a good rinse with fresh water made it as good as new. The only damage is few very small nicks in the anodized handle , which came from electrolylsis.

The tool took that sandy grave without major complaint and works like it just came from the store new. This is testament to a well built quality tool. I have a Leatherman Wave & vastly prefer the Juice. Why? I like the fact the Juice has a phillips head screwdriver, that it is more compact, and has a positive detent on almost everytool when you open them.
The Juice, unlike the Wave has bolsters which makes it feel more hefty in your hand. Someone else quibbled about the corkscrew. That's not the reason to buy a well made tool-or am I missing something here? The Juice has every conceivable tool one might need except perhaps a wine cellar or glass chiller.

Addendum: The "levering mechanism" (for the corkscrew) that some one else mentioned in their review is a can opener opener-not a levering mechanism for the "joke" corkscrew.

5-0 out of 5 stars I keep it in my car
This is a handy tool. I like the look and feel. I keep it in my car. My girlfriend likes it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Near-perfect for pro computer geeks
I picked one of these to replace my original and well-worn Leatherman, and I'm quite happy with it. It's very comfortable, and comes with everything a computer/network tech needs. The pliers are always useful, the knife blades are sharp and strong. The saw is perfect for cutting drywall or plastic, and the screwdrivers are just perfect for times when you have a quick job and don't want to go get a full tool kit. I use this thing literally dozens of times a day, and it does everything it's supposed to. While its perfect for computer pros, it might be a little light duty for automotive work, though it's very durable for what I do with it. If you're looking for a gift for a mechanic, you might want to consider the Super Tool instead, but any geek would love this model. As an added bonus, it looks pretty cool too.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but far from perfect.
The Leatherman Juice XE6 is at best a compromise, at worst a bit of disappointment. I have used mine for about 6 months now and most of the time it serves me very well but there are some elements of the design that make me search for different tool to do a job I ought to be able to do with the XE6. I'll list the things that annoy me, anything I don't mention you can assume lives up to the claims in the promotional literature.

First off, the pliers: The jaw design is functional and the jaws seem pretty tough but you'll not get to push them to their limit since the axle they are mounted on doesn't seem up to the job. When you squeeze hard on the handles they flex slightly where they join the jaws. This means when you squeeze the pliers on something thin the handles touch together in the middle (specifically the top of the file and the top of the saw make contact). Often when gripping small things I want to squeeze the handles harder to get a better grip, but it doesn't achieve much because I am already making the handles touch in the middle and also I'm scared of damaging the mounting of the jaws.

Second the scissors: They are sharp but some element in the design means they don't cut very well towards the tip of the blade, even when cutting easy things like thin paper. I think the blades simply meet at an angle too close to parallel, in essence they have tried to incorporate too much blade into the short length and not made the handle long enough. The scissors on standard Victorinox Swiss Army Knives are better.

Third the corkscrew: This is a bit of a joke really, the levering 'assist' mechanism puts pressure on the top of a wine bottle using a single edge of metal about a millimeter thick. I used this for a while but after it cracked lumps of glass off the top of a couple of bottles I gave up and resorted to brute force and pulling the corks out using the screw alone. Being used to removing corks in this manner using a Swiss army knife I don't find the level of force needed much of a problem, but there are further faults with the Leatherman's corkscrew; the screw itself is quite short and narrow, it works fine on artificial corks but it often tears traditional corks in half leaving the other end still in the neck of the bottle.

Lastly a minor point on ergonomics: The screwdriver blades are made to be levered out with your thumbnail. The length of the screwdriver blades means that if you lever one out quickly with your thumb the end of the driver is likely to make quite hard contact with the flesh of your thumb just below the nail. The screw driver blades are sharp enough to cut you quite easily. I have got used to opening the screw drivers without cutting myself but believe me, if you use one you will likely suffer the same minor injuries at some point during use.

This may read like a rather scathing review but bare in mind I have only mentioned the things that disappointed me. Just about everything else is great. The blades are great the file and saw are great. The screw drivers are very high quality. Everything is bundled together into a very compact package and very attractively finished. When closed all the lines and edges are smooth making the tool suitable for carrying in a pocket or bag. There are some very nice touches to the design like a series of small ridges near the base on the back of the serrated blade so you can identify which blade is which without opening them.

Overall I am still pleased with the tool, but I was disappointed by the week feeling pliers and the scissors that are frankly just badly designed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Impressive Tool
I bought the xe6 to replace a swiss army knife I parted with, and have absolutely no regrets. Unlike a typical swiss army knife, leatherman's concept seems to be building a true tool. The tools in the xe6 are placed well and impressive; The wire-cutters/stripper especially so (How true is that Gene?). One word of caution though and I think the only drawback, the blades don't lock; maybe a minimal drawback, but it you use the blade often you might be well-off buying the Wave instead (wave blade is much longer as well). ... When Leatherman says "crunch" they really, really mean it. We could not believe the grip on these locking pliers, especially when you consider what the small package in which they come. As with all Leatherman goodies, the tool is easy to open, maneuver, and close and comes with an array of screwdrivers built in, along with a bottle opener, wire strippers, file, knife and, next to the locking pliers, our second-favorite feature: a hex bit driver. If you know Leatherman, you know we're talking quality and convenience. But this new twist with the locking pliers puts Crunch at the top of the Leatherman list for us. We can hardly think of anyone who couldn't use one of these.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Crunch
I got the crunch because it was different and unique. A helpful tool to have around the garage, and thats eactly what it is. Once this thing latches on to say, a stripped nut, it's not coming off. I was amazed when I saw the crunch unfold into extremely effective vice grips, then fold it back up into a tiny ractangle. Theres nothing wrong with this super tool. Never have I seen anything "crunch" this hard. When i first got it, I crushed a plastic pen to try it out. It shattered. I then moved on to the garage. I latched its shark jaw onto a stripped nut. This thing gives so much torque. I yanked and yanked but this was on tight. The crunch is also good to take on bike rides. It tightens the chain and all of the other hex nuts on it. The crunch is like every other leathrerman, except with less tools and a far better set of pliers. This, and the micra, are the most used of my leatherman collection. (read my micra review).

5-0 out of 5 stars Best pocket tool on the Planet!
I wear this tool on my belt every day and use it daily. The adjustable locking pliars are top quality and can actually break nuts and bolts loose that have been torqued down on most light to medium jobs. This tool is remarkably handy, tough and built with the highest quality standards.

5-0 out of 5 stars One Half of what you need
I carry the "Crunch" and the "Wave" with me everywhere. The real Dynamic Duo!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Leather...oh..man....
Blimey! This is a kick-tail multi-tool! The vice grip on this thing is amazing!

I spent a while studying multi-tools before I settled on buying one. I've owned multi-pliers before and the advancement of locking pliers is sooo much better.
There are 2 other brands that currently manufacture locking pliers, and Leatherman is the best one hands down.

If you've viewed the Leatherman web site, you'd know about the cool animation of the crunch they have. Truth is, it does not open and close that quickly. It takes two hands and a few seconds.

All the blades lock very firmly. They lock tighter than any tool I've ever seen. True, they are not as tough as maybe your everyday screwdriver, but what do you expect? Can you screw together a house with this thing? No! But you can do what it's made for, everyday activities. It's not high-impact.
The file on this thing is very well made. Heavy, thick, and grooved deeply. The small screwdriver doubles as a bottle opener, which I thought was very cool. The blade is thinner than I had hoped, but so what. The philips is very nice, fits most philips screws. The one thing I like is that every blade can be easily opened with little effort.

The other awesome thing this has is the hex bit adapter. Completely unscrew the adjuster screw and you have a hex opening, ready to fit any bit you may have. It works very very well. This is for the impact stuff you may need, put a bit in that and you can do whatever you need without damaging the tools it came with.

As you can see, this vice grip does not have the easy open lever that most full size vice grips may have. Sure, it may be hard to open back up if you really put pressure on it while closing, but what do you expect? It's a multi-tool!
The bottom line is that if you think this thing will do everything an air powered power drill can do, it won't. It's for everyday stuff, not for building a house.

Ok, even though Amazon does not sell it, take my advice, buy the nylon sheath! I did and it is so much more durable and fits the crunch much better. It has strong Velcro... and flat out is just better than the leather sheath.

Over all, this multi-tool is the way to go. Even if you think you may not like it when you first get it, you'll soon be depending on it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this
When it arrived I was extremely impressed. The workmanship was excellent, and it looked good. The locking pliers proved immediately useful. Sadly the Philips head screw driver appeared to be made out of toffee, and only lasted for a few hundred screws. I have had better quality screwdrivers out of a Christmas cracker, and it was nowhere near the quality I would expect at half the price.
The wire cutters were a similar disappointment. They do not appear to be hardened, and will not cut steel wire. Again [any] tools are better than this, and professional ones are a world apart.
Finally don't get it wet because they do rust. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Packing 14 individual tools into a remarkably compact, Storm Gray, anodized-aluminum body, Leatherman's cool new CS4 is a midsize member of the company's exciting, new Juice line of multitools. Only 3-1/4 inches long, and weighing a mere 5-1/2 ounces, the CS4 really is small enough to carry comfortably in your pocket. Like other Leatherman tools, the CS4 butterflies open, exposing the needle-nose pliers/wire cutters/wire stripper, with access to three flat-head screwdrivers, a Phillips driver, and a lanyard attachment--the same tools you'll find inside Leatherman's KF4 Solar. The CS4's handles, however, harbor a different combination of tools that are perfect for picnickers: scissors, a can/bottle opener, corkscrew, a saw, an awl, and a straight knife. Like the entire Leatherman's Juice line, the CS4 positively snaps into the open position, and the individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel. The Juice multitools do lack the blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click crisply into place and hold securely. Looking for a gift for your favorite technophile or gadget lover? You can't go wrong with the CS4. Made in the USA. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product for an all around tool...
I have another leatherman and I take it with me everywhere in my truck. It has saved me many times before and I know it will continue to save me in the future. I just bought 5 of these since I am getting married in October for my groomsman. I know they will love it because it will be a good tool for them in the years to come and they will always think of the wedding when they need to use it.

The tools are well set, and the feel is very sturdy. This thing has enough tools to do some quick fixes if something breaks on your car, house or just about anywhere because you have the basic tools to make the repair.

Seriously, you NEED one of these for those just in case days. ... Read more
