5-0 out of 5 stars Good and Simple!!!
If you're looking for a saw that will last a lifetime this is the one to get! Built to Milwaukee's tough "Heavy Duty" standards this saw has quality written all over it! It may lack the compound adjustments with all the bells and whistles and cost a bit more than a cheap Taiwan model, but outfit this saw with the proper blade or jig and it'll tackle anything from trim work to rough framing! Not to mention, with excellent power and precision. The fifteen amp motor is as powerful as it gets without tripping most circuit breakers. This rock solid machine is vibration free and most of the dust actually goes out the dust port! The high fence and clever wrench storage clip completes this simple design.

What I really like about this saw is the effective blade retraction system. The clear lower guard retracts into the upper blade guard assembly away from snagging your thumb or sleeves as the guard moves upwards. O.K., maybe it's just the way I'm holding the handle with my big hands but I have gotten the pointy joint on my thumb slammed on the retracting path of the DeWalt and Makita guards...Ouch!!! To me, there is insuffient space between the handle and retracting guard on those saws.

Along with the high sticker price, this saw should have came with a set of extentions with stopping block and hold down clamps. These accessories are quite pricey when purchased separately. I guess to enjoy fine dining you must order ala carte just as you would with this fine tuned machine!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Precise mitre saw
I use it to cut aluminum extrusions, it feels solid and makes very accurate cuts. I used to have a lower price mitre saw and this one worth the extra bucks. I think this is the best mitre saw on its class the next step would be a commercial type saw (CTD, Pistorius...)

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
I work as a finish carpenter and this is the best miter box you can buy.I've done base, casing, and crown with this and I have no complaints.Unless it's getting limited use, don't buy a $179 miter box.Get this one.The gauge is accurate and the 60 degree cut has come in handy. ... Read more

: When it comes to recip saws, Milwaukee is the undisputed king, the "Sawzall" name serving almost as a generic label for all reciprocating saws (to Milwaukee's chagrin, we're sure). The flattery is completely deserved, especially in this case. Cordless convenience couples with Milwaukee's know-how for one of the finest recips on the market. It's incredibly well-balanced, powerful and yet easy to handle. The Power Plus battery offers improved run time over standard batteries, and time is money. We love the steel Quik-Lok blade clamp system, which lets you change out blades in a flash and without any tools. For safety, there's a lock-off trigger speed control that prevents an accidental startup. And like Milwaukee's other Sawzalls, if you're in a tight space, you can flip the blade over for close-quarter cuts. This is definitely the tool for the busy contractor. It may be a little spendy for the home do-it-yourselfer, but it's worth every penny.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I think the last reviewer got a bad one.
The previous reviewer of the Milwaukee 6515 18v Sawzall must have obtained one manufactured on a Monday morning or something. I do not own this saw myself, but I have frequently borrowed it from a co-worker and have been very impressed. Battery life is surprisingly decent, and the saw performs nearly as well as its plug-in counterpart. It's a bit pricey though, costing around twice as much as a corded saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars Did I Get A Bad One?
I bought this saw based on Milwaukee's reputation and the satisfaction I have had with their electric tools. This recip saw is no comparison to my DeWalt. It has no battery life and seems to lack the power of the DeWalt. Even when fully charged it seems to struggle through the work piece. Possibly a bad battery because I'm sure that Milwaukee would not intentionaly produce something which posesses the lack of quality as displayed in my saw. ... Read more

Use it and love it. Milwaukee's Magnum is magna-accurate, whether you're crosscutting, mitering, angling, or compound mitering. The miter table turns like a dream, thanks to ball-bearing construction. The sliding mechanism rides smooth as glass, too, on hardened steel tubes that let you extend for a full 12-inch crosscut. Of course, all the common angles are pre-set, but Milwaukee's unique override mechanism lets you fine-tune those presets for dead-on precision. But there are two things this saw has that we haven't seen elsewhere that makes it stand out. First, it has a cool transparent lower guard that retracts automatically, smoothly and quickly, out of your sight line when you're cutting. But our favorite feature is the extra-tall flip fence for fantastic support, whether you're cutting a plain miter or a compound. The patented fence can flip--without tools—for compounds or regular miters. It's a high-end saw that really, really lives up to its reputation and will please professionals and home hobbyists alike.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Made in U.S.A.?
After goung back and forth between the 10" Hitachi and the 10" Milwuakee,I bought the Milwuakee. It was a demo,(never cut anything, the blade was clean and the plastic blade guide was not cut through yet and still in the box) I did not use it yet and I am returning it for the Hitachi. beside the fact that it doesn't dual bevel, the blade guard isn't smooth retracting, and I assumed it was made in U.S.A, it's not!(name something that is!)It's made in Tiwian! At least the one I bought was. I have used the Hitachi before and liked it very much. So even though it's made in Japan, it dual bevels, has a much smoother blade guard, a laser, and a soft start moter, I am going with the Hitachi. I can't comment on the performance of the Milwaukee because I haven't used it. So if you are buying the milwaukee because you thought it was made in U.S.A., it's not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Saw to Buy
I have owned my Milwaukee 6497-6 10" slide compound miter saw for 2 yrs. I purchased a house that is 80 yrs old and did a complete restoration. I read a remark from Glenn TX. I have been a Toolmaker for 23 yrs, I work in tolerances of +.0000 to -.0002! So I challenged your remark that the saw is not within max. material condition for lateral movement. I used a Starret dial indicator and the lateral movement on my saw is +/- .008 with mild pressure exerted. When heavy pressure was applied my saw gave me a T.I.R (total indicator reading) of .024 or .012 in either direction.. 1/64 of an inch equals .015625! You have probably not utilised the locking pin located in the back of the saw when transporting it, confused it for a piece of luggage. The binding knobs to lock the slide on the saw are made not to white knuckle but mearly a slight sinch. And you people that talk about Makita (house of the rising sun) They make a fair product, but good luck trying to hold a precise angle with their saw they have thrust bearing float. And for those of you that say the dust collection system don't work, that is why God invented Chain Saws, wet wood is not good to cut with one of these nor does it make a good building material!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good saw, but beware...
Top quality saw. The fence system is great. The motor is excelent. It comes with a first quality blade. I won't ooze over the good stuff; there is plenty of that... I will get to the only real issues I have with the saw. First, the dust collection doesn't! Don't even bother putting the bag on, nothing comes out of the port. I have not botherd to hook it to the dust collection system and try it with suction. Not a big deal. Second, the saw was not square from the factory so I tweeked it in per the instructions and now it is square. BUT, there is too much free play in the slide system and support arm. It is easy to move a cut out of square by even slight pressure an any lateral direction on the handle. Not a big deal on most trim jobs, but if you are doing cabinets and need real precise cuts beware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool for the workshop.
I just wanted to say that the Milwaukee 10" sliding compound miter saw is a tremendously great tool for the money. To all that say their saw is out of square, just loosen the screws holding both of the fences and use a square to align them with the cut in the kerf plate. Tighten the screws and make sure both fences are straight to each other.
The motor sounds great, the saw blade that is included is a super high-quality blade that is extremely sharp. The cuts are clean and smooth.
A nice thing about the kerf plate is that it comes without the slot in it. You cut the slot yourself with the sawblade which prohibits splintering on the bottom and helps make a clean cut.
The flip fence is very cool. It is so quick to move out of the way to do a compound cut.
The only thing that needs to be seriously redone by Milwaukee is the Dust Collection system. If you need a saw that collects all of its dust, then get a different saw. I could care less, though. It is not that bad.
I 100% recommend this saw to anyone needing a sliding saw.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's good - but it ain't great.
I've had my Milwaukee SCMS for about five years now, and the best thing that I can say about it is that I didn't have to pay for it - it was a gift. Like the gentleman from Brooklyn I too have had a problem with my 90 degree cuts being out of square. Also, the thumbscrew that holds the saw in place on the rail stripped out after a couple of uses. I also wish the saw was of the dual-bevel variety, and I wish that it had the ability to make dado cuts like the Makita saws do. I guess when it comes down to it I'm suffering from a bad case of Makita envy, and the only cure is to go out and buy one. It's really too bad, because I have several Milwaukee hand tools and they're all top-notch. I think Milwaukee needs to go back to the drawing board and make a few improvements to what could be a decent saw. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee Metal Cutting Saw
Probably the most surprizing power tool that I've ever bought. Cuts through a 2" EMT conduit in 7 seconds, cuts double height strut in seconds.
I no longer take my SawAll and band saw to job anymore.
It's fast, makes an acceptably clean cut, best of all its cordless.
When 20 feet up in the air hanging strut and conduit this is the BEST tool to have with you.

2-0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and built that way!

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
These are what drill bits should be, they are straight and sharp. I was using my drill press when tired them. First on wood, they started where I wanted, no skipping, cut clean, both entry and exit, true, with out deflection, and with such ease from the smallest to the largest in softwood or hardwood. This wasn't love but it was a thrill I was totally satisfied right then but I had to try metal. The same results I don't work with Stainless or Titanium. These bits are a real pleasure. These are the most expensive set of Drill Bits that I have ever purchased I'm sorry I spent so much money on cheaper bits. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars no more sore hands
I have a boat restoration business and do alot of caulking with very thick materials. For years I have used an air driven gun but no more. This far exceeds my expectations. ONly down side is heavier than an air gun, but no hose to worry about dragging in wet caulk on teak decks, battery holds a good charge and comes with a universal (milwaukee) charger. You can also buy a 14 volt battery for a 2nd one at Home Depot, and works with gun and charger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice gun !!!
You can not beat this new generation Milwaukee caulking gun for smoothness, power, long battery life, and designed -- it begs to be used ! I manage a Autoglass shop and my guys pump high viscosity urethane all day, any other gun would be punished to the max, not this one! I have used the older 2.4 volt Milwaukee guns for years and was happy, the 12 volt is 100 times better yet!

5-0 out of 5 stars unbelievable

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing tool
This is an excellant impact wrench. I have been a garage door installer for many years. I can easily spend most of the day with this tool in my hand and its performance is unmatched. Our company has put these impacts to the test. They are frequently dropped from ladders, but keep on working. When repairs are needed, they are easy to do and the parts are even easier to order (from Milwaukee). I even use it for those really tight lug nugs on trucks. The rocker switch is a must. Sometimes the pin doesn't want to let go a the socket, but with a little persuation it comes right off. Overall, excellant tool, great performance, and amazing durability. Milwaukee impacts are just the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extreme time saver!
I have been doing a lot of drywalling recently while remodeling my home. For a while I tried to get by using a normal drill to do the screws (nailing drywall is a ridiculous pain). The problem was that I had a terrible time setting the screws to the right depth. I was using a couple of those special drill bits that advertise the ability to help set drywall screws. I learned my lesson. One big problem was I had to use different thicknesses of drywall with different applications.

Then I bought this beauty... Let me say this: If you are drywalling or planning to drywall soon stop reading this review and buy this now! Drywall went from being a necessary pain to being actually a bit fun. First off the screw gun's ability to set screw depth acurately to within 1 /64 of an inch is awesome. A little click to the right or left with the nozzle and you're ready to rock. Next, 6.5 amps of power... wooowww! This thing has the torque and speed to easily power drywall screws through my century old wood framing. My normal drill choked often on this. Thirdly, magnetic tip. You don't realize how nice this is until you are putting up drywall panels on a 10 foot ceiling. You can one hand those screws all over the place within reach of your ladder. Just don't let it make you so lazy you start tipping over your ladder in an attempt to reach that one last place just barely out of reach... Fourthly, rugged steel case. Fifthly, the ability to drive basically any screw anywhere, wood or metal, with all the included bits and attachments. Sixthly, it's Milwaukee. That means built to take whatever you can dish out and a lifetime waranty.

Don't drywall without it!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST EVER
This is the most powerful and best screwgun I have ever used it drives 4 inch screws with out even breathing hard ..if you are looking for a tool to do the right job this is the one.. you will pass this down to your son/daughter wonderful.. tool

5-0 out of 5 stars This tool packs POWER
I'm building a new workshop in the woods and have been using this tool to shoot screws, (both hexhead woodgrips and TEK). It is light weight and fits the hand nicely. I was wondering how it would fare when we started shooting the TEK screws into the steel framing -- IT WORKS GREAT! I have had just as much luck with the phillips screw driver head for other parts of the project.

There is something rewarding when you can set thousands of screws with a little click as the tool drives them exactly the same time-after-time. Don't be afraid to buy this one - I have three.

4-0 out of 5 stars Superb clutch!
The Milwaukee's superb clutch is one reason for buying this tool! The clutch operates very crisply; there is a momentary disengagement sound followed by complete silence from the clutch mechanism. By contrast, the clutch on my friend's DeWalt makes annoying noises (and vibrations) for as long as you have the motor on. Other good points: MADE IN THE USA, detachable power cord, handling, balance and position/location of the controls. Cons: 1) the unit arrived with lubrication leaking from the area where the motor is attached to the gears. This soiled the carry case and it continued for a couple of days before it eventually stopped. (I suspect that either a) it was over-lubricated or b) a seal broke and all of the lube leaked out.) 2) The rubber used for the detachable power cord is of the type that dirt, saw dust, etc. sticks to. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and can whole-heartedly recommend this tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super tool to have in hand
I was quite surprised to see Milwaukee introduce this tool.Particularly because in their drill line up, few new items have hit the pike lately and Milwaukee really is not known for their screw guns. However, that may change with this new product. Frankly, I think that Milwaukee builds the best drill motor out there, but traditionally, I have never thought that their drills are comfortable or well balanced to use all day. This new pitol grip changes that considerably. The new grip is small enough for most hands to feel that they can control it even if your body position is not ideal. The Quick-LocK cord is really a nice feature ( if you wear out, cutor nick the cord - it can be replaced with no tools or housing disassembly ), the trigger is of good quality, the reversing switch can be toggled easily while one-handing the screw gun and has no sharp eges, and the 0-2500 rpm speed range is acceptable for many fastening applications, including self drilling/ TEK type screws into metal. This kit is a new offering so durability is not proven, but Milwaukee's reputation should alleviate most concerns. This kit is appropriately named a Remodeler's kit that will come in handy for a variety of applications on the job or around the house. It is very comfortable, well made, comes standard with a variety of bits and sockets all in Milwaukee's standard metal case. I give it five because I believe the tool will endure years of projects and I think Milwaukee broke some new ground here, look for others to follow. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy one with your Sawzall
If you're buying your first Sawzall you need some blades. This kit has an assortment of blades for cutting most kinds of materials. If you're a professional using your Sawzall on the job you'll soon know which one you use the most and can buy lots of that kind. The others are there if you occasionally need to cut something else.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Starter Set for the DIY crowd
If you aren't a contracter, this assortment will last you for YEARS... Kind of "one of everything you need." If you use your recip on a daily basis, you'll find it cheaper to buy packs of what you use the most.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good starter kit
Packs of blades like this are very useful if you are new to reciprocating saws. You can try a wide variety of blades without spending a lot of jack. Then when you decide which ones work for what you need you just replace those blades. I don't personally buy multi blade packs except when I get a new saw and they come with it. But if you don't really know what kind of blades you like, try one of these. You can learn a lot with one project.

5-0 out of 5 stars There ain't nothing you can't cut!
Milwaukee, THE name in Reciprocating saws, has put together a great pack of blades. I do a lot of work constructing houses and doing rehab work, and this blade set (when used with my Sawzall) tackles most of the cutting tasks. No wasted blades, because I have found that most blades can be used for a variety of tasks - wood, metal, plastic. A good pack for the toolkit. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST SAW WITHOUT EXCEPTION
I AM A CONTRACTOR FOR 30 YRS AND HAVE OWNED PORTER CABLE,MAKITA ,SKILL AND DEWALT AND WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS MILWAKEE KICKS ALL THIER BUTTS. THE POWER IS VERY STRONG,CAN'T STOP IT UNLESS YOU ARE USING A VERY DULL BLADE.IT HAS PERFECT BALANCE AND BEING ABLE TO ADJUST THE ANGLE OF THE HANDLE ALLOWS YOU TO USE THE SAW IN DIFFICULT POSITIONS ,THOUGH YOU WILL FIND A MOST COMFORTABLE. THE MOST IMPORTANT IMPROVEMENT WITH THIS MODEL IS THE BRAKE SYSTEM,IT STOPS THE SAW ALMOST INSTANTLY AND ANYONE WHO HAS SPENT ENOUGH TIME USING A CICULAR SAW KNOWS HOW DANGEROUS A STILL MOVING BLADE CAN BE. IT MAY NOT SEEM THAT IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY BUT IT REALLY IS. ALSO ANYONE THAT COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SIZE OF ITS CASE HAS A FEW SCREWS LOOSE, YOU CAN PUT A 25 FT. EXTENTION CORD INSIDE AND IT HAS A PLACE FOR YOUR STRAIGHT CUT GUIDE (EXTRA). THIS SAW MAY SEEM A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT IT'S WORTH DOUBLE THE PRICE.LIKE I SAID THE BEST SAW OUT THERE BAR NONE!

5-0 out of 5 stars BBBZZZZZZZZZZTTT-ZZZEEEP!....AAAAAAHHH!......
As a home improvement and hobby sort of wood worker looking for top value in essential tools, I did my homework very carefully before choosing this one.

Great machine, very comfortable to use with the light weight and smooth power, ergonomically very adjustable, with a brake that stops it cold when you are done (an essential safety feature for someone who nearly sawed his fingers off in his impetuous youth). Great reputation of the company for dependability and quality, so I expect it to last to be handed down to my son or daughter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Top of the line saw!
Im a very particular, full time framing and trim carpenter. I have used and abused all the major brand name circular saws and this is hands down the best of the best. I demand a heavy duty, durable but comfortable to operate saw, with the safety of an electric brake. This saw has it all. It is lightweight and easy to operate with as much power or more than the other brands. The electric brake stops the blade dead instantly, quicker than other saws Ive used. I am one of those guys who is not particular on what brand of tool I buy and use as long as it is quality and comfortable for me to use. Price is no problem. This saw is worth every penny, even if your not a milwakee fan ,who in my opinion and experience makes some of the best and most durable tools you can buy. The only negative I would mention is that I think the rip fence should come with the saw.

5-0 out of 5 stars SMOOTH WITH POWER TO SPARE
This saw is a real joy to use in all aspects. The power is unmatched in the field,it's light weight allows for easy operation and handling. The flexibility of the qucik-loc handle system is very nice-even though you will probably settle on your favorite position it's nice to know you can change it,EXAMPLE:When cutting down on a vertical changing to a flatter wormdrive position aids in cutting leverage. This saw looks, feels and operates Milwaukee tough AND is comfortable to use.The only minor complaint is the cutting\rip fence.First you have to pay extra money for it, and this fence does not cut ultra close rips the way i would like-quauter inch is as little as this fence wants to cut-#1 it does not slide onto saw far enough in to allow a 1\8 in. shave #2 when the fence is in all the way it hits the blade guard#3when cutting thin, say 1\4 material the fence sits lower than the base plate allowing the material to slide between the two.WORK ON THIS MILWAUKEE, IT'S AN EASY FIX-BUILD A BETTER FENCE MADE FOR THIS SAW.
OVERALL:
TOP RATE POWER

XLNT BALANCE-ERGONOMICS-FIT AND FINISH

THE BRAKE AND QUICK-LOC CORD IS VERY NICE TO HAVE

SMOOTH CUTTING WITH GREAT CONTROL

CUTTING VISABILITY IS VERY GOOD

THE FENCE SHORTCOMING IS FAIRLY MINOR BUT COULD BE IMPROVED UPON

CONCLUSION: BUY THIS SAW,IT'S NOT THE CHEAPEST BUT IT MAY BE THE BEST IN IT'S CLASS-I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A BETTER FENCE THAT MAY EVEN BE INCLUDED WITH THE SAW SINCE THIS IS NOT A [inexpensive] UNIT.BE A LITTLE GENEROUS MILWAUKEE AND THE CUSTOMER WILL RETURN THIS GENEROSITY WITH MARKET SHARE. ... Quite possibly, this is the world's best 14.4-volt drill. When you first pick it up, you don't expect much: It's light and amazingly compact. But just wrap your hand around the cushioned, soft-grip, non-slip handle and squeeze the comfortable, rubberized trigger, and you're packing so much torque--390 inch-pounds—-that we defy you not to shout "Oh yeah!" First, we love the size. It's so smartly designed and built that you'll be able to work in the tight spots other drills can only dream about. We have no beef with the tough plastic housing, because it definitely contributes to the light weight. The battery design is a stroke of genius because it enables you to insert the battery with the overlap to the front OR the back, so you can tailor the shape of your drill to your workspace. Another nice feature is the ease with which the battery goes on and off—-we've struggled more than we care to admit with batteries on other drills. In the power department, you can't beat this tough guy. It maxes at an impressive 1,400 rpm, and none of the vibration ends up in your bones. Add to all of that the nifty Clip-Lock storage hanger, and you cannot help but love this drill. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best 14V Cordless
After getting the Milwaukee the other day I shopped all the other 14V cordless drills at a couple stores (something I actually should have done before just buying one over the internet sight unseen, but everything turned out great). I wasn't too worried about getting a bad product since Milwaukee is a very quality brand when it comes to power tools. I also wanted a 14V drill for its portability over the 18V (less weight).

I used to always consider DeWalt first since I have a fairly good selection of corded DeWalt products, but after reading some negative feedback on their 14V drill I opted to give the Milwaukee a shot.

One thing I noticed upon first inspection is the battery can be attached running in either direction, a feature that is not available on any other major brand drill that I could find. Also included in this kit is a belt clip that is just plain genious, the quick release mechinism should be copied by a few cel phone manufacturers it is so good. Every feature on the drill gives me the impression that Milwaukee listened to the feedback from a lot of consumers that knew what they were talking about: 20 position variable clutch on the keyless chuck with an additional low and high torque setting, 2 quick storage bit slots on the back, quick release belt clip, reversable battery.

After owning lots of the "Yellow" tools, I think I've been converted to Milwaukee. Plus red is much easier to keep clean than yellow! This drill kit is superb and comes with everything you need (minus bits) to get started: Drill, 2 batteries, charger, belt clip, philips bit. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but Worth It!
I purchased one of these bandsaw stands from Amazon.com. They are expensive, but well worth it. The quality is all Milwaukee, which stands alone. It is a very heavy cast stand which stays put when you load it with pipe, angle iron, etc. On long pieces, you must use a support stand, naturally. It will make your bandsaw blades last much longer because of its ability to make straight cuts without binding the blade. The only thing that would make it better would be the addition of a vise or clamp to enable 45 degree cuts. The stand makes repetitive cuts a snap and dead-on accurate. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Close quarters
I resently went into business for myself installing cabinets.I have struggled for months with other drill / drivers to drill holes or drive screws in small or tight cabinets. THIS IS THE PERFECT TOOL FOR BOTH. Also great for removing cabinet door from there hinges. Buy one for yourself, or two. Give one to your helper for Christmas, or his/her birthday. My female partner loves it. She say's "Very easy to handle, but hold on, it has power."

5-0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee Close-Quarter Drill, 3/8", Reversible, Var. Speed
This is a super drill design which is a copy of the original SIOUX close quarter drill used in airplane factories. Improvements in the Milwaukee model are (1)variable speed, (2)instant reversing, (3)lighter weight, and (4)isolated from electric shock. It is so perfectly balanced and quiet, it is a joy to use. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Self Feeding Hole Saw Ever
I only have two of the Milwaukee Contractor's bits and I love them, I will buy this set soon. I use them for cutting the many holes required to run house electrical and plumbing. They are perfect for the hard to reach out of position holes that you can't push on a auger bit to cut through. They will eat their way though the center of a tree with a 3' extension.

Since they are self feeding they will not stop untill you let off the trigger and you need a reverse on the drillmotor to back them out of deep holes. Chips will back up and plug deep holes so use the reverse and clear out the chips on deep holes. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This is the modern version of a drill Milwaukee has been making for many years. The Hole Hawg has long been a standard in the industry, indispensable to plumbers and electricians alike, because of its very-high-torque, two-speed adjustment and its ability to fit into most tight spots when drilling through studs and top plates. Simply put, this is one of the strongest drills you can buy (people have even been known to use it as a drive motor for winding and rolling applications). The drill has both a side and a top handle. You can feel the quality of this tool when you hold it: its reinforced nylon resin casing, which is actually lighter and stronger than metal, offers terrific heat dissipation and chemical resistance. New users should be aware that, because the Hawg is typically used in heavy-duty industrial applications, its power comes with the possibility of significant kickback if a bit binds in certain situations. No question about it, though, Milwaukee's Hole Hawg is top of the line. --Tim Block ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The strongest drill you'll ever need
This drill puts others to shame. Drilling through the toughest material, this one has enough torque to get the job done, and still more to spare. The limit to what you can get done with this tool is determined not by the torque that the drill puts out, but by your own strength--when the bit binds on you, the drill will literally wrench itself out of your hands. The warning that the Amazon review gives is apt; new users should be careful with this behemoth because it has more power than you might think. Screw on the secondary, perpendicular handle to keep a hold on this monster as it bores through wood, concrete, asphalt, metal--the tool can handle it all. But can you handle the tool?

5-0 out of 5 stars Survived a flood
In addition to being an outstanding tool for electrical and plumbing, mine survied 3" of water. I let it dry out, cleaned up the outside and it runs like new still. The self-feed bits pull it through the heaviest 2" solid, dry, and well aged oak -- without burning the wood. And its not just for pros. Anyone who has to do electrical, plumbing, or has to drill through studs or heavy wood, will benefit from this tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Made my remodelling job so much easier.
I had to do a pretty big remodolling project on my grandma's house (new plumbing, electrical, etc.) and this drill made to job much easier. Boring through doubled joists and top plate didn't phase this drill at all.

I do take the warning I've heard to heart though. I suspect that if one wasn't careful and let the drill bind up, it has plenty of strenght to break you wrist or mash any limbs that got caught between it and the structure.

I'd like to get more of the Milwaukee self feeding bits. I have the 2 9/16 bit and with this drill, it cuts through studs and flooing like butter.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a tank
Mix drywall mud / Cement / or even chuckle drill holes, it's a tank

5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome drill motor!
I have been building my own house for the past four months. I have sub contracted some of the trades but electrical I did myself. An electrician friend of mine helped me lay things out and got me started. He also gave me some great advice when he told me to buy a hole hawg. Equipped with a ship auger bit, you can drill out an entire wall in the time it would take you to drill one stud with a 3/8" drill and a spade bit. This drill is very heavy and obviously well made. It has all kinds of power even in the high range. When you shift it into low range you have to be careful you don't injure yourself if the drill bit binds and the drill kicks back. They don't call it the wrist breaker for no reason!

I judge tools based not on appearance but on productivity and usefulness. I work a full time job on top of building a house, and my time on the job site has to be efficiently spent because I don't have a lot of it. This tool made doing the electrical work possible because it allowed me to get a LOT of work done in a short period of time. I'd still be drilling holes for my home runs had I scrimped and used my 3/8" or even 1/2" hole shooter. The bottom line is Time = Money, and this drill is a time saving work horse. I highly recommend it to any one who has a lot of holes to drill. It is a high quality piece of machinery. ... Read more
