Like Butter
I got one of these axes for my dad for Christmas and it was worth every penny. He's getting older but he still has to split wood for his wood stove to heat his house, so I thought it would be a practical gift. He loves it and even I tried, on Christmas day and many times after that. If you split would and are tried of your handles breaking, dull blades, and blistered hands, get this axe.

Save your money
This should really be called a hatchet. I bought one primarily to make kindling out of logs that had alread been split up. The edge failed to penetrate the wood well, either because it was too dull or because of the material. The wedge shape was too narrow to split the wood off. I'm going back to my trusty metal hatchet.

One Handy And Safe Axe
Are you looking for an axe that is safe, and does good work on small home projects? Well, after using this axe for awhile, I can say that this is the one I shall surely stick with. Absolutely the best tool for most jobs!
I LOVE this drill. It requires no cords or electricity. It's lightweight and simple to use. It's simply the handiest tool when you need to make a hole in most surfaces.

A GREAT TOOL
This is one of the most used tools I own. It is so much easier than hauling out the power drill. It does take some skill to use well but it is SO handy that it is worth the effort. I think I need another one so I have twice the chance of being able to find it. Mine is Yellow BTW.

We use this all the time for hanging pictures, repairing furniture, etc. It's easy to use, it's reliable and steady and is the perfect tool for anyone who needs a small drill for home projects. We considered buying a power drill when we bought our house a few years ago but we've found that this hand drill works fine for everything we do here.

Almost pefect tool for light home use
This sensual and sturdy tool is perfect for drilling most holes around the house: hanging pictures, starting screws or nails, small repairs, etc. Compact size fits in hand comfortably, this drill makes me want to drill holes. It comes with four drill bits. I was skeptical of the big rubber band that holds the drills when they are not in use, but it has proven to be very functional and has lasted almost ten years, so far.

Great all purpose garden tool

These ARE the best pair of shears I have ever used! I'm not a gardener or handyman type; what I am is a 15 year paramedic/firefighter who has gone through three pairs of Fiskars. Amazing Axe
I'm not an axe guru by any means, but I needed to chop down some trees, and saw this axe and it's great reviews when it was on sale. I bought it, and it is simply amazing. It takes down branches, stomps so easily. My friend loved it too. We got a kick out of using it and chopped down the ugly trees in my front yard. A great tool for the gardener/firewood splitter.

Great axes, but there's a better one
Fiskars makes incredibly good axes. The problem with this model is that the head is heavier (4 1/4 lb) than necessary for this type of axe. The similar 7859 model has a 2 1/4 lb head. I find this splits big wood as well as my old 6 lb maul. My wife loves the light weight. I'd give the 7859 five stars, and hope that Amazon starts carrying it soon.

Best Axe In The World
Best axe in the world! Scandinavian design and well worth the price. Don't go buy your average axe at Home Depot. Buy this axe from Fiskars. I am a real fan of their products now. The name Fiskars connotes quality and design. I'm telling you. It's a tool to be proud of, give to clients as Christmas gifts etc. It becomes a prized heirloom....something to show your friends in your garage...a "cool tool" that you have to show off!

great wood splitter for women
I have been splitting wood for a number of years and it is hard work for a woman. Recently, a friend let me borrow his power axe by Fiskars. It is a wonderful tool. I can split twice the wood with less effort than when I use a traditional wood splitter. The price is right since a heavy wood handled splitter costs $25 to $40, and often the wooden handles crack and break after a season or two. 5 stars, plus for this tool.

My mother left me this, and it's great!
I'm a utilitarian kind of guy. I can handle dirty, torn coveralls. A cracked, scuffed hockey mask doesn't faze me. Heck, even if I get some pokes and scrapes while on the job, that comes with the territory.

But I absolutely demand the sharpest edges possible when I use a knife or an axe. There's no point (ha!) in doing a slicing or hacking job with a dull blade.

That's why I highly recommend the Fiskars 78616984 Axe and Knife Sharpener. With this useful tool, I can sharpen any blade I pick up in minutes, with an exact 30-degree angle (thanks to the patented ceramic wheel). Plus, the pop-up head (excuse me?) makes cleaning a breeze. It even has a built-in safety guard to protect one's hands.

It's kind of a bummer that the Fiskars 78616984 Axe and Knife Sharpener isn't available for gift-wrapping, because my pals Michael and Freddy would each love one as a surprise.

Oh, it's a sharpener
This thing rocks. If you're someone who enjoys oiling up the ol' sharpening stones, can hold a blade at a precise angle for a half an hour or so, and have the patience to do same, don't bother. If, however, you fall into the category of people who don't have that sorta patience, have zero luck with sharpening steels, or care more about having a sharp blade than lookin' cool workin' the stones or steels, you'll love this gadget.

I put more than adequate edges on my henckel and sabatier knives in no time. The edges were a bit rough to look at, but they worked. And that's what I care about. Have some realistic expectations, and you'll appreciate what this thing does.

Not really a sharpener
This tool works more like a steel than a sharpener. If you have high-quality blades and want razor sharp edges, you'll be disappointed with this tool. The ceramic wheel simply isn't hard enough to sharpen hardened metal knives.

Real Sharp
This is a product that is worth more than it's price.
