I Was Confused
So one of the features of this charger is that it "charges both NiCads and Nimh batteries" - yet the manufacturer's comments state that it charges only Nimh batteries ("for NiCads use charger EY0900B").

The 2002 Panasonic catalogue lists charging times of 90mins for N(3Ah) NIMH batteries; 60mins for F(2Ah) NICAD batteries; and 45mins for C(1.2Ah) NICAD batteries - with this charger. ... Read more

A nice little chuck.
I ordered this chuck to replace the one on my 1995 vintage 12v Panasonic drill. The old chuck kept jamming tight on bits and I figured it was just past it's best. It's good to have the drill back in use. The chuck seems to do the job as well as the old one, and it's a bit lighter. I hope it lasts as long, 'though with so many aluminium alloy bits instead of steel/stainless, I wonder! ... Read more

Metal Cutting Blade
Works well on thicker steel items. It is very easy to knock the carbide tips off of the teeth when you first start cutting the edge of a piece of stock. The blade will last longer if you can hold the blade guard open, turn the saw on, and lower the blade slowly onto the piece you are cutting, away from the edge. Of course, it is DANGEROUS to hold the blade guard open, so I'm NOT RECOMMENDING this procedure. If you start cutting a thin piece of steel from the edge, the blade will bounce off the edge and you'll damage the blade. Works well on 1/4" bar stock, leaves a very smooth cut and doesn't create a lot of heat. Average rating is based on high price and short life. ... Read more

Panasonic EY9PM11D 4-3/8" Thin Metal Cutting Blade
This blade will cut thinner metal than the standard blade, but it will NOT cut sheet metal as claimed. The blade kicks back and the teeth are easily damaged. If you want to cut sheet metal, get a Skil saw and turn the standard wood cutting blade around backwards. It does a much better job than the Panasonic, and it is a whole lot cheaper!!! I cut lots of 1/2" dia metal bar stock
I have the 15.6volt panasonic circular saw and had a job cutting down old dry cleaners clothes racks. I have sawzalls, torches, bolt cutters, etc. but using the saw and this blade was by far the fastest, easiest way I could imagine, it also works great for copper pipe and any metal. Get the one with NiMH batteries
For only a few dollars more (at the time I wrote this less than $!0) you can get the same drill with far superior NiMH batteries. 50% more charge and no "memory effect". I'm not sure why Panasonic/Amazon are even offering this package. ... Read more
