A cordless nailer—it's true. This ingenious nailer is powered by battery and fuel cells, beating the heck out of a cumbersome, heavy, loud compressor. Still, it's amazingly light and easy to handle because of its smart, compact design. For the professional, it's a huge time saver—there's no setup involved. For the do-it-yourselfer, it's the power and convenience of a compressor-fired pneumatic nailer without the compressor. This Paslode will fire up to 1,200 fasteners without a new fuel cell and up to 4,000 fasteners without a battery recharge. Imagine building a deck, framing in an addition and scrambling around on a roof without dragging an air hose behind you. We think it's great too for when you'd normally have to rely on a generator for power. Just charge your battery, and you're nailing. Ingenious.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What you get is GREAT!
Amazon does not have a good description of this package deal, but I got it today and its a great deal. In addition to the cordless nailer, battery, charger and case, the Contractors' Performance Pack comes with an extra battery, a car adapter for the charger, 2 fuel cells, lube oil, a can of degreaser cleaner, and safety googles. I am very satisfied.

5-0 out of 5 stars With the pro pack and the $50 off it's a great value
I use this once a week for tight quarters framing and easy one handed nailing anytime. It's light enough for no arm strain and dependable enough to use all the time. It's not designed to shoot 5k-10k nails a week, I didn't buy it for that. You have to clean these regularly to keep them up but so what, it's easy. With the Pro kit which is an honest $79 value thrown in, and Amazon's $50 off this can't be beat. This is my third over a 14 year period. To be honest the first one was a POS and I took it back. I still have the second one and it still works, it's just time for new. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Framing Contractor - Grand Rapids Michigan
...It seems that all the experienced framers in the area prefer the Hitachi nailer. I disagree. I prefer the Paslode. The balance, and weight make a big difference to me. I also prefer the nails. You do not have to concern yourself with the plastic flying into your face. Some will say the Hitachi is a faster gun, however I am unable to find anybody who is able to run either gun to its full potential. The only reason I gave it a four star is because of the clipped head nails. If I can find a round head nail that will work with this gun, it would become a 5 star review for sure...

5-0 out of 5 stars I've always liked Paslode air tools
When I started framing we had an older silver looking Paslode gun that felt like it weighed a ton (chuckle), and a brand new one that felt like you were using a finish nailer (it was light in comparison). Both guns shot nails extremely well. In fact, they were more dependable than the other brands that were available on the jobsite (Hitachi & Senco).

Since somebody decided to liberate me from my Porter-Cable FC-350, I decided to go back to my beginnings and purchased this Paslode gun. I do not feel that my choice was flawed at all.

You've got to make sure that your pressure and the depth adjustment are in tandem or you will have overdrives or stand-offs. This is the case with any nail gun though.

I'd always recommend Paslode guns to anyone who would ask. Besides, I'd rather use paper collated nails too.

1-0 out of 5 stars Paslode F350S
As the owner of a professional custom wood crating shop, we fire 1000's of nail monthly. This is by far the worst product we have ever used. It came miss firing and not firing from day one. Our supplier thought we were crazy, but upon checking w/ the factory it was discovered to have a Paslode known problem. (The old nieve corporate mentality - getting the customers $$ and worry about it later)It was updated and repaired several times, but continues to not fire and blow air either from the head or trigger (apparently from poor fitting internals). We can not deal with this piece of junk. It's headed to the dump.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Nailer
This was my first framing nailer, and I lucked out with a good one. It can get right between studs on a 16" OC. I have never had a problem with it. The gun is powerful -no problems sinking nails. - Comfortable and well balanced. It is a little loud and has some recoil, although not as much as my full-head nailor. No jams so far. The light weight won't wear you out either. I don't think you can go wrong with this gun.

5-0 out of 5 stars No plastic collation spit out at you, or to clean up!
Yes you can get round drive heads, which is more appealing to the eye.
Yes you have to pull the wrench out to change the depth, however I do not have to do that too often, it is not a bother to me.

I have the Impulse Framer (The new orange one not the old black one) as well, I much prefer the pneumatic.

Why have a cordless chop saw right next to your plug in table saw? Cords and hoses are a part of the jobsight.
Impulse' days are coming, but not for anytime soon. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Great for light framing--remodeling, especially--this Impulse cordless framing nailer from Paslode lets you avoid the hassle of compressor hoses and compressor noise. The nailer's small, 12-inch-long, lightweight body (6.9 pounds) is easy to hold and, because you're not dragging a hose, doesn't cause as much arm fatigue as other nailers. The nailer drives 2- to 3-1/4-inch nails and has easy-to-adjust drive depth and a high-visibility load magazine. This Paslode nailer uses a patented system that requires both a fuel cell and an included rechargeable battery. Overall, we were impressed with the nailer's performance--it's consistent and there's adequate power for most uses. This model shoots up to 1,200 nails on a single fuel cell and up to 4,000 nails on a full battery charge. There's a convenient belt hanger so you don't have to lay the nailer on the ground or on top of a ladder or wedge it among rafters, and the high-visibility orange makes it difficult to misplace. The kit includes a plastic carrying case, a lightweight charger, and safety goggles. Please note that the nailer does not come with the fuel cell included. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Arm saver
When me and my brother in law decided to build my house, I started looking for something to help us out. Neither one of us ever owned any kind of nail gun or phneumatic tools. I asked around and read the reviews on your web site. I went to LOWE's and Home Depot to get a closer look at all of the various guns. I decided to try the Paslode Impulse, so I bought one for each of us. I saved... on both by getting them from Amazon. These things are great. I even dropped one twice, once about 6' on a sidewalk. Never missed a beat. They are practically maintence free. Even though they didn't need it I cleaned them once just to make me feel good. The breakdown and cleaning was a snap. They sure made the job go faster and saved a lot of wear and tear on our arms. Not having air hoses laying all around was a big plus. I strongly recommend the Paslode Impulse. I even used the generic nails with no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Powerful and easy to use. Lighter than it looks.
A great multi-purpose framing nailer. The consumables can sometimes sneak up on you, expense-wise, but the convenience far outweights that. It's a lot lighter than it looks, and will shoot a 3 1/2" ring-shank nail through wood with ease. For deck and dock work, there's really no better tool. Mine has been maintenance free, but I do follow the instructions on cleaning it. Also, make sure you're aware that this gun doesn't include the 'No Mar' tip. The gun has a 4-prong nose that is the safety; i.e. you have to depress this on the wood before the gun will fire. Paslode designed the prongs to work well in toe-nailing situations, but be warned: If you're doing top-level deck work, you'll need the 'No Mar' tip so that you won't leave behind 4 little marks at every nail shot. The 'No Mar' tip is a simple replacement nose piece that has a piece of rubber, instead of steel prongs, for it's bottom. No biggie, just wanted to make everyone aware of it. For pure framing, you won't need it, though.

Very good, very reliable tool that has served me well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Paslode Impulse Hoseless Finish Nailer - Model IM250A
The Gotta-Have Tool!

I have been testing this brand new tool for Lansing Buildall in Ontario and I love it. NO HOSE dragging and tripping me; No noisy compressor, but especially NO HOSE (I hate hoses).

This is a totally new generation hoseless tool from Paslode and their R & D has produced a knock-down, knock-out winner. It has performed flawlessly in my tests and is a delight to use.

The compact size, ANGLED base, and soft grip handle make for perfect balance. That, and a weight of less than 5 pounds, rides on my belt and fits into even my small hand with no strain at all. (AND NO HOSE)

I have shot almost 2000 nails into all kinds of hardwood and soft, and even attached soft cedar fence boards. The depth adjustment works and stays consistent, and the no-mar tip really is.

Then there's the unique "lockout" feature - The tool won't fire if there are no nails in the magazine - so you'll never again find yourself shooting blanks - BRILLIANT! This is a fine, fine tool.

I have had 1(one) jam in 2000 nails and that was my fault, reaching, moving as one fired. That jam was easily cleared though, in seconds via the flip-up nose piece. No tool required. (AND NO HOSE)

Just for fun, some carpenter pals and I timed ourselves with hammers. Thin oak trim - so pre-drill - lay down drill - pick up hammer and nail -hammer nail - pick up nail set - set nail. Fastest time was 20 seconds. This tool does the same job in half a second. FORTY TIMES FASTER.

I can't afford NOT to have this.

Enthusiastic? You betcha. Time is money and this little time machine is making me both. It's a gotta-have tool.

Oh, set up time for the tool? About 3 seconds (including the time to open the case).

Anybody want to buy a used hammer?

Want some free HOSE?

5-0 out of 5 stars Convenient and Gets Job Done
While this nailer is not meant for continuous commercial framing applications, it does just fine for what it was intended...home maintenance and light construction around the property. Ran a box of 2" galvanized nails through the thing while replacing a fence...no problems what-so-ever. Buy and use the Paslode cleaning and lubricating products, perform the recommended maintenance at the recommended intervals, use either Paslode nails or those identified as compatible, and it will do you well. It has earned a permanent place in my tool locker.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I recently purchased one of these to frame my basement. Being that I live in a new development of homes and most of the basements aren't finished, my neighbors also anticipated getting some use out of too.

It works like a charm. Never jammed, never misfired. Puts a nail wherever you want. It's not too heavy and can fit just about anywhere. We put up basically everything that can be framed with this nailer.

I used Paslode's nails (which I'd read are much more reliable for use in this nailer). I don't know if that's what made things run so smoothly, but if so, they were worth every penny.

I have to say that I never 'cleaned' it - I'd simply pop the battery out at the end of the day and leave it sitting right where we'd left off. This doesn't seem to have affected the performance at all...

Quite honestly I don't think you can go wrong buying this. I've used it A LOT and am thoroughly happy with its performance. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a good finish nailer!
I was using Porter cable 250a's, which I love, but Porter Cable decided to replace them with 250b's, which stink. Since then in my attempt to replace my aging guns I've gone through Craftsman, Senco, Hitachi, and DeWalt, and was unsatisfied with each. Finally I tryed the Paslode and I loved it except for the silver trigger it comes with. Today I got the orange trigger and it does everything I want! Namely, it has a small safety so nails can easily be angled in, it fires to a consistant depth (unlike the DeWalt and Hitachi), and I can rapid fire when I need to. I'm a finish carpenter in Florida, I use the gun for trimming houses mainly, including hanging doors, base, crown, balustrades, etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars Paslode quality as usual
I have owned this nailer for about a year now, and it has definitely lived up to its expectations. I have trimmed out houses, cabinets, and various small projects with no problems at all. The quick release jamming mechanism is a great idea, but I've only had to use it once since I've had the nailer(this thing just won't jam up). It has good power but won't send the nail spiraling through the wood. Of course the swivel exhaust port comes in handy just remember to use it. The imprint the nailer leaves on the wood is virtually none except for the nail entry hole, much better than other finish nailers that I've seen. So to make a long story short if you want a good nailer buy Bostitch or Craftsman, but if you want a great nailer buy the Paslode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very impressed....
I have had the T250 nailer for about three months and am so far very impressed. It's light as a feather and has more than enough power to punch nails through hard woods such as ash and maple. Jams are very easily cleared. Comes with a carry case with room for two boxes of nails... very handy. A very well made tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes I own the Impulse 16 Gauge angle nailer also...
...I got to be good with it too, I could take it down like the video shows you an clean & oil it in my sleep. In the end though I did not feel it was convenient enough, for the cost of their aerosol spray and short fuel cells.

Concerning the pneumatic one however, some at the job sight cry its hard to unload nails under two inch in length, fortunately I have always been able to get those 3/4" nails out, you will find a way.

5-0 out of 5 stars great finish gun
I had been using the older style 16ga. Paslode finish nailer that was borrowed from a fellow builder. It worked well so when it was time to get my own I wanted to stick with Paslode, I am glad I did. The T-250 works as well as the older gun but recoil is almost non-existant and it feels even more balanced. I am happy with this tool. I also like the new smaller case. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Paslode siding nailer
This gun is one of the best items to come along.I have been doing siding for over 10 years ( by hand ) and in the winter time it is very hard to hold nails with gloves on or freeze with none on, one person can hang alot more siding for more profit in one day compared to by hand nailing plus no nail pouch required so less weight to carry around I love it. Nailing into tight places is a little more easy also.No breaking siding when hit with a hammer. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a battery
What is there to say about a battery? It takes a charge and it delivers power. This particular model lasts a very long time. The impulse guns must not require much power to operate because these will drive several thousand nails before dying. My only complaint is that they are expensive compared to other batteries . At the same rate a 12v would be a hundred bucks. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Great for all kinds of finish and trim work, this Trimpulse finish nailer from Paslode lets you avoid the hassle of compressor hoses and compressor noise. Its small (less than 12 inches long), lightweight body (5 pounds, 8 ounces) is easy to grip and, because you're not hooked to a hose, doesn't cause as much arm fatigue as other nailers. The nailer drives 3/4- to 2-1/2-inch nails and has easy-to-adjust drive depth, as well as a Quick-Clear feature that provides easy access to the nailer's nose if a jam occurs. This Paslode nailer also uses a patented system that requires both a fuel cell and an included rechargeable battery. We were impressed by the nailer's performance--it's consistent and there's plenty of power for most uses. This model will shoot up to 2,400 nails on a single fuel cell and up to 4,000 nails on a full battery charge. It also has a convenient belt hanger so you don't have to lay the gun on the ground or on top of a ladder, and the high-visibility orange makes it difficult to overlook. 5-0 out of 5 stars paslode is a winner Bammer is a BUMMER
I recently sent away and received a porter cable Bammer finish cordless nailing gun, and was it ever poor. it was so heavy and clumbsy that I could'nt hold it over my head and push the piston in, that's what you have to do to fire the nailer and it damned near threw my shoulder out of joint! Was I ever pleased when the paslode nailer I ordered in it's place came a week later. it was very light, and worked like a charm. I'm getting older, and I appreciate lightness, and ease of operation. THIS IS IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Works wonders
I owned the Porter Cable bammer before I purchased the impulse. What a mistake, the bammer should be called the bummer. The Paslode impulse works much, much better. I enjoy using it very much. I am glad someone can make a cordless nailer that works good!

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
When I first purchased this gun it performed like a dream, however, after the first brads things started to go wrong. These problems were not corrected even when thirty minutes is spent cleaning the gun as per the manufacturer's directions. I have faithfully used both the expensive de-greasers and lubricating oil to no avail. I appear to spend longer cleaning the bloody thing than actually using it.

After a thorough cleaning the gun works well for a short time and then the problems start. The gun will consistantly misfire, in that the nose will be depressed and the fan will start, but no combustion occurs. Originally I believed that it must have been the spark, but that appears to be okay.

I have returned this particular gun to the service agent on a number of occasions for the following reasons:

Split main o-ring
Fan motor burnt out
hole in the dust filter, failure to fire when contact element is lightly, but fully depressed.

Another major problem with this model is the spring in the magazine hold open device. This spring keeps the rear of the nails properly aligned. I have lost this spring, by vertue of it falling out, on no fewer than three occasions. I have now given up with this feature of the gun and it still seems to function okay.

Don't get me wrong I am not anti-paslode, . I own the framer and air fit out gun and their great tools, however this fit-out gun is a lemon. Steer well clear of it and purhaps look at some of the newer models. I wish I had, but I liked the ability to change between guages of the brads.

2-0 out of 5 stars customer service
Living in Los Angeles must be the "out back" to Paslode, I purchased the tool with the understanding that nails and fuel cells could be purchased at places like Lowes and Home Depot or at best at local tool outlets. I have yet to find a retailer that sell the 18 guage nail, some do sell brads. I had to have the fuel cell UPS'ed from Oxnard Ca. I went on line and discussed the problem with Paslode. They could care less, they insist that fuel cells and nails are available(but they wouldn't sell me any????. So I continue to call tool supply stores and check larger retailers. The Paslode catalogue "on line fastener section" does not even refer to the nails in question. As far as performance, when using brads it works adequatly. So to any and all of you that are considering the purchase of this tool make sure that accessories and supplies are available Would I buy another produce-----NO.

Amazon.com Review

Perfect for finish and trim work that requires getting into small spaces, this Impulse finish nailer from Paslode lets you avoid the hassle of compressor hoses and compressor noise. The nailer's small, lightweight body (just under 5 pounds) is easy to grip and, because you're not hooked up to a hose, doesn't cause as much arm fatigue as other nailers. It drives 1-1/4- to 2-1/2-inch nails and has easy-to-adjust drive depth, a probe position indicator, and an angled clip for improved maneuverability. This Paslode nailer uses a patented system that requires both a fuel cell and an included rechargeable battery. We were impressed with the gun's performance--it's consistent and provides plenty of power for most uses. This model will shoot up to 1,200 nails on a single fuel cell and up to 4,000 nails on a full battery charge. It has a convenient belt hanger, too, so you won't have to lay it on the ground or on top of a ladder, and the high-visibility orange makes it difficult to overlook. The kit includes a plastic carrying case and a lightweight charger. Please note that the nailer does not come with the fuel cell included. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Paslode Tools will make the job easier
We own several different Paslode nail guns, including the framing nailer and the straight finish nailer. We began using the Paslode products about 4 years ago. I will say that the new guns we have purchased in the last few months are significantly better than the quality of the guns purchased just a year ago. Don't get me wrong, we weren't disappointed with our purchase a year ago, it's just that these "newest generation" guns fire smoother, have more power and have been more consistent.

I have heard others complain about the cost of gas cartridges and replacement batteries and that the guns have to be reloaded fairly often. I will say that all of these are very minor inconveniences when compared to the overall benefits of these tools.

We now own about 10 of these various Paslode guns for our crews and they are truly a great tool. While they are quite a bit more expensive than the air tools, the freedom of use that this style of gun offers and how it will make your work more effecient makes this a purchase well worth the money. Also, Amazon's price is EXTREMELY competative and not paying sales tax on the purchase saves us in Michigan another ... . You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars So far so good.
I have recently purchased this tool for professional carpentry applications. It has been used for a week, with no problems and not one single misfire. The battery fits snugly and tight, the fuel cell issues must be resolved,no problems. Very light tool, angle allows access to hard to reach places. The adjustable depth is an excellent addition to the original guns which did not have depth adjustment.
I own the Paslode straight nailer and the 18 gauge nailer for trim and we have two Paslode framers.
We also use pneumatic tools and trimmers and these Paslodes are not the best alternative for heavy production jobs. For an additon, a kitchen, or a room remodel they are perfect.
I do not think homeowners or weekend warriors should spend the money, but if you like nice tools then the whole line of Paslodes are a super investment.

1-0 out of 5 stars How many more upgrades do I need to make it work?
I purchased my first angled finish nailer from a large discount store. I used it for two jobs (doors and trimwork), thought it was the bomb! the next job did not go so good! The nailer refused to fire, so I cleaned it but still nothing. I called paslode for help and was told the gun needed upgrades from the local service center. Did that but still only fired now and again. Returned the nailer to the store for replacement and met a rep while I was there. Discussed my problem, he handed me a MORE RECENT version and assured me there were no upgrades needed. Upon leaving the store I called paslode and checked, I was told ther were two upgrades needed to be done on the gun I had just purchased!!! I felt betrayed and distraught so I returned it and bought my old faithful Senco pneumatic !! I DONT WORRY ABOUT PRICE WHEN I PURCHASE THE TOOLS I EARN A LIVING WITH, I JUST WISH PASLODE WOULD NOT MARKET A TOOL THAT NEEDS TO BE REENGINEERED AND WOULD HIRE MORE HONEST REPS. WAY TO DROP THE BALL PASLODE, YOU LOST MY BUISNESS!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Be Afraid . . .
I recently bought a Paslode framing nailer and a finish nailer. The framing nailer is OK but the finish nailer is just awful. It only fires about 30% of the time and will just stop working. I then have to remove the nails, battery, and fuel cell; jiggle the wires to the controls and spark plug and then maybe just maybe it will fire a few more times.

(I am at 5500' and am using the high altitude fuel jet but that doesn't make a difference.)

From my experience I would not recommend this tool. I thought that the absence of a compressor hose would be a very good thing but when this nailer stranded me I had to go to my local rental store and rent a pneumatic nailer to finish my job. I found that dealing with a hose is not as big a hassle as I thought it would be. I will return this portable nailer and replace it with a pneumatic one and save about $250.

2-0 out of 5 stars janmmin tool ,nail jammin
I have a three year old tool which has jammed 25% of the time I have fired it. It is going back for the second time to be repaired I love the concept because I am a cabinet and trim installer but I cant waste the time unjamming this piece of junk the last 10 times I fired it it has bent the nail and fired it half way into the trim. I have all the cleaning products and have become adept at tearing it down and cleaning it . there seems to be an alignment problem with the safty bar not compressing into the nose of the gun. I guess I will continue to bring my compressor for nails bigger than 1 1/4 inches ( which is the limit for my porter cable gun with the commpressor in the tool ) the pc is an awsome tool I wish I could say that about this tool. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Gun For Any Job
I've had mine for about a year and I love this gun. It's so much easier to grab this out of the backseat of my truck and start nailing than it is to grab a pneumatic gun, the compressor, the hose, finding an outlet and tripping over the hose as I'm trying to nail with it. For a small job you can be in and out with this gun before you even get the compressor set up. As long as you keep the gun lubed and clean you will rarely have a problem with it. I use mine for trim, woodworking and finish work with great results. In fact, I haven't used a pneumatic brad nailer since I got this, and I have 3 brad nailers that are collecting dust because of this gun. I've used different brands of nails and they all seem to work well. At the price this gun may not be for everyone, But everyone that uses it will want one

3-0 out of 5 stars Good First Try
If your looking for a cordless finish nailer pass this one up and go to the newer [nailer] by Paslode. The price is about the same to [a little] more... I own two of these and there are times when the cylinder head gets in the way of nailing corners and under toe kicks It's a good nailer but it has been obsoleted by its brother ... ... Read more
