4-0 out of 5 stars Porter Cable Stikit Abrasive Roll 100 Grit Sandpaper
I'm a "do it yourself" homeowner who has been using the PorterCable Stikit sandpaper for years. My 100 grit roll is finally coming to anend after at least 5 years of use. I've used it on my Porter CableSpeed-Bloc Finish Sander for upteen projects. I've even used it sandingdrywall seams when I built an in-law apartment. There are several thingsthat I feel make this a superior product. First is the ease ofinstallation. All you need is a flat surface, a utility knife and about 10seconds. Second is the sanding quality, which is very good. Third is the nowaste when attaching to the sander. The entire roll is used because noclamps are necessary. And I've never had a piece of sandpaper shift whileon my sander. So I can't think of any reason why not to buy this product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BUY!
I purchased this box of 1,000 biscuits which came in 4 bags. I used to buy them at Home Depot and Lowes in the clear cylinder. This 1,000 pack is a much better buy and I don't have to be as conservative with them. This pack has lasted me a long time and prove to provide the strongest joint. I read in the reviews that someone wasn't satisfied about the quality of the biscuits, so I inspected them for defects and didn't find any. I am certain that these are the best buy for cost effectiveness and quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best biscuits for the money
If you want to use biscuits that are uniform and will work everytime, then get these. Porter Cable biscuits are, in my opinion, the best made. They do not swell prematurely, thereby preventing you from getting your project together. Nor do they come out of the box in a variety of non-uniform thicknesses. Each biscuit is within strict tolerances of the next biscuit. I have used the Lemello biscuits and have found that they are not as uniform or well made as those by Porter Cable. Additionally, I have used biscuits from Lowes and Home Depot (Wolfcraft?) and have found that those, too, are not uniform to the same tolerances as the Porter Cable biscuits.

5-0 out of 5 stars Plate Jointing
I use Plate Jointers quite often and Highly Recommend as the strenght of the joint is most times stronger than the wood itself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Nice Little Router
This router is perfect for use of dovetail and other small bits. It uses a 1/4" collet. Compared to other models, it is light in weight and easy to use. It uses the #1001 base which is inter-changeable with the model 690. Has plenty of power for its size. If you don't like to change collets, and can afford to purchase an extra router, this model will certainly do the trick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Long lasting router
I have owned a model 100 for 30 years. (back when it was Rockwell). The router was used to finish edges on tables and doors and a quite a lot of countertop laminate work. Today it is used mostly for cutting dovetails and has held up very well. The only parts that have been replaced was the collet and the power switch and this was over 10 years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars Do not under estimate its power
Many people will see 7/8 horse and write it off immediately. I have a monster 3 1/4 horse router that is great on a router table, however it is heavy, awkward, and inaccurate when used free hand. As a Carpenter, I will end up using this tool far more because of its size and weight for day to day use. You can use it for edging and laminate trimming and because of the full size base its great for all around use. It has plenty of power for nearly all applications. And also something else you don't see these days, its made of metal. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Biscuit Review, The
I have used the Porter-Cable 5563 biscuits for several projects and they have worked just fine. The cheaper brands crumble when you try to tap the biscuit into the cut with a hammer... these do not crumble. Very nice!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very happy with them.
There is not much to say about biscuits. The do work very well and I have gone through about 500 of them with no problems. They seem to be very uniformed and I have not had a joint go out on me yet. I have been building with biscuits for a few years and have always had good luck with Porter-Cable products.

5-0 out of 5 stars Teenie, Tiny, Itty, Bitty, Little Biscuits
These are the smallest biscuits available and are of limited use, but the excel for those uses. They are narrow enough to use for joining face frames on cabinets, but I prefer to do that with a Kreg jig and no biscuits.

I use these mainly for joining small picture frames and box corners. The only other method in these applications is a spline, which must be fitted with much more care and precision than a biscuit.

These are quality products - I have not had one fail. They fit the slots cut with the special blade that comes with the Porter Cable 557 biscuit joiner kit. The fence on that tool makes it easy to do box corners. If you are doing alot of boxes and frames, I think you will like these biscuits.

3-0 out of 5 stars A little too small
The small face frame biscuits are a great item but in their intended purpose they are hard to work with. The inch and a half stock is better joined together with the old fashioned dowel method. You have to change blades on the joiner to use the smaller blade for this small biscuit and the time it takes isn't worth the trouble to do when you get a better result with the dowel. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good tool, Good price
You would never know my nailer was a refurbished tool if it didn't come advertised that way. It was ready to use, no adjustments needed. I've been running three inch nails through it pretty hard since it arrived and it has been just great.

I'm working faster and more accurately now than before. The clipped head nails are just fine. They don't have that nice look that a full head has, but hey, it's framing not fine woodworking. Clipped head nails are much more common locally than the full heads and much more affordable. I've heard a rumor that Senco makes an offset full head nail that will feed through a clipped nailer if it's really that important to have that look.

My only complaints about the gun are that they should ship it with both triggers and it is a bit on the heavy side. You won't hear too much griping from me, however, when you consider what I paid for it. I've used better framing nailers, but not for under $200.00.

1-0 out of 5 stars [not the best]
In the 1/2 hour of trying to use this tool, it was only able to function properly for 5 minutes. I have other Porter Cable products and have no touble with them. This nailer however just kept jamming at the end of slide area. It needs a guide at the end of the track to stop the nails from "bunching up" at the driver head area. It would not drive a nail and then it would drive two at once. This produces a massive recoil that almost dislocates your shoulder. Porter Cable needs to add a spring steel guide to keep the strip nails inline. This should stop the need for the constant unjamming of the feed track & driver assembly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this nailer but supplies are an issue
This nailer works really well and has been one of the best tool purchases I have ever made. On my current project, time is an issue and this tool is helping me stay on schedule.
In my area, the Paslode brand of nails are the only ones stocked. As they are 30 degree strips and not the 34 degrees specified by Porter-Cable, they sometimes don't feed so you have to give the feeder spring a flick once in a while. The no feed happens about once every 300 nails. For my project it's an inconvenience I can live with compared to banging nails by hand.
Overall though, I think I've made a good purchase. The re-conditioned unit I bought didn't have a mark on it - would have sworn it was brand new, but it came at a much better price.

4-0 out of 5 stars PC FC350 Hits Nail On Head
I purchased this gun in October 2001. My friend used it first to build a huge deck (can you believe that a friend would use your new nail before you even used it once). He went through a box of about 4000 nails installing the deck without a single jam. I have run about another 500 nails of various sizes (2" to 3.5") with the same results. Considering the quality of the gun, I think the the price is very reasonable. The gun is well balanced but is a little tooooo big for my taste. I prefer my FN250 when using smaller nails.

On the plus side, when other guys walk by, the big gun certainly looks macho.

Would I recommend it to you---Yes. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

The Porter-Cable 19.2-volt Tiger Saw offers a convenient, easy-to-maneuver alternative to corded reciprocating saws. Since reciprocating saws are most likely to be used overhead and at odd angles, not having to work around a cord is a notable advantage. The Tiger Saw offers a Quik-Change blade clamp that requires no key or special tool, a 1-inch stroke, and variable speed up to 2,900 strokes per minute. The grips are well designed and easy to hold. Note that the cordless Tiger Saw is configured differently than its corded cousin and is several inches shorter end to end. This allows for greater flexibility and maneuverability in tight spaces. This kit comes with a diagnostic charger with an LED warning system and a custom-molded plastic carrying case. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great tool, but have an extra battery
As a professional plumber, the sawzall is my primary tool. Almost every time I do a job, its one of the first tools to come off the truck. The only trouble was when I do renovation work. It was always such a pain to drag out the old PC Tigersaw to make a couple of cuts. Draging it in, finding a plug, pulling an extension cord, all made me think of using a hacksaw. Not really liking any of the red or yellow corded saws, I was thrilled when PC came out with the cordless saw last year. I ordered myself one for christmas and took it to work. Needless to say, I was very happy with it. It works almost as well as its corded brother with the exception of the short charge. But if you are cutting more than two batteries worth(I have the drill and saw set too), then you should have pulled out the corded version.

5-0 out of 5 stars Universal Cutting Machine
This is the first cordless recip saw I ever owned, and it turned out to be a great pick. I got it with the hammer/drill/driver in a combo kit. After considering what the competition offers, I bought the PorterCable 19.2V line partly because of brand loyalty, but also because of the saw's compact design and 2,900 spm speed. This saw is heavier than the Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita models, but it is shorter in length and easier to manage with one hand despite its weight, and has more power. It gets into tighter spaces than the others, and its speed is faster, too. Now, I cannot do without this tool. Using the right blade, it literally cuts anything, from plywood and studs, to drywall, to sheet metal and pipe, or old tires, or bricks. I have used it doing renovation work in the attic and under the house where cordless convienience and power is needed. I like to reverse the blade and turn it upside down to use like a sabre saw, pivoting on its foot to do plunge cuts. Believe me, life got easier real fast after buying this. One thing though, the saw can sap a battery quickly when doing long extended cuts in tough material, like for door and window openings. But its performance and conveinience makes up for that. I can't wait to try this saw with an aggressive wood blade for trimming trees and cutting limbs on my property. Look for more of my reviews on the PorterCable 19.2V line and recip saw blades.

5-0 out of 5 stars Seems like one of the cordless recip saws on the market
I own the PC circ saw and have found it an excellent tool and when they came out with the recip saw I bought it up after considering some of the others including De Walt, Milwaulkee et al. I looked at the others first as I felt that having to buy it complete with another charger etc. meant I had no loyalty to buy PC.

I found the PC tool lighter to use than the competition I tried and having used it I found it worked well. Battery charge is satisfactorry and the quick charge battery system is cool.

5-0 out of 5 stars 19.2v Cordless Tiger Saw Chews 'em up!
I recently had the opportunity to demo a new 19.2v cordless reciprocating saw by Porter Cable. This is an item that will be on every wood-workers wish list this year! Its' short body allows it to get into areas that other saws can't. The only negative statement I can make about this tool is that the manufacturers should sell a model that doesn't contain the battery and charger (for those of us that already have the other Network tools). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars For the handy man
I've used this jig saw for over three years on home projects. What I like best about the saw are the varible speed control right at your finger tip(with six speed settings), easy blade change with a standard screw driver, the air flow vent which can be directed to blow saw dust from your cut lines, and the tools balance. Other nice features are the blade pitch adjustment which can be set for fine cuts or course cuts and the location of the power switch, just below the speed control.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE ONE THAT STAYS SQUARE
I bought this saw for two reasons. First, it is, I guess about the only one left that still uses a screw to hold the blade. I've read too many horror stories in the reviews here, where people have been cutting with some of the new tooless jig saws and the blade comes out. I did'nt want that. Second, it has a fixed base and two little stabilizers that help keep the blade straight. It is so nice to be able to cut curves at 90 degrees for a change. However, it did'nt take long to find out that the Porter-Cable 'hook-type blades are hard to find, if at all. It's a shame, too. They are good quality blades. So, I changed the clamp over, and you don't have to remove the shaft like the book calls for. I just bumped the motor a little bit, sort of like we had to bump the engines on old cars to set the points. it was pretty easy. On a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being the easiest, and 5 being the hardest, I give it a 1. Before I bought this saw, I would resort to using either my band saw or my scroll saw. But let's face it, there are applications where you have to use a jig saw that stays on square. Thank goodness I found this one. Totally satisfied.

5-0 out of 5 stars model #97549
i have a small craft business as for as my honest opinion this is the best saw on the market i have tried 4 other top of the line models nothing comes close to this saw the last one i used for over 10 years couldnt wear it out it got stolen all i can say is i hope the company will continue to make this saw

4-0 out of 5 stars Versatile saw for many uses.
This saw can be used for many projects around the house. The saw has a variable speed control with 20 click settings which are right at your thumb. Speeds can be changed on the go too. The blade pitch has four settings for different cutting conditions. The saw also has a fan port which can be used to blow the dust from a cut line. To change a blade requires only a screw driver. The only thing missing is variable angle settings, otherwise I would give it a 5 star rating.
This saw has a nice balance and a smooth cutting action for cutting curves. I have used this saw to cut siding, build arbors, gates, and several planters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Charlie Tanner
Outstanding fixed 90 degree jig saw. If you have ever had one that can tilt you will appreciate a fixed floor. It is so easy to slip up and ruin a good cut with a tilt mechanism. The adjustable guides let you decide the clearance at the foot so as to keep the blade true and square. I would buy again. ... Read more

This tool does everything right; it's relatively light and small, yet packs a serious punch! I've used it to accurately knock out cracked bathroom tile fixtures in the hammer-only mode to hammer-drilling holes for gas lines for gas fireplaces. It comes with a very nice carrying case that holds practically everything I need for most jobs; safety glasses, earplugs, a large assortment of drill bits and demo tools. Although I have an assortment of rotary hammers large and small, this one is my favorite for medium size holes and chipping. I highly recommend this tool for anyone in the market for a lightweight 3 mode rotary hammer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool
I had a competitor's rotary hammer which I did not really care for. I was looking for a tool such as this from Porter-Cable for some time. It finally became available. The other tool was working, so no real good justification for buying a new Porter-Cable SDS. Well The 'other' tool ended up missing. I needed a tool right away.

This tool is balanced a lot better than the competitors, works fine, and all our power tools are being replaced with Porter-Cable as they are needed and become available.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE PORTER CABLE SDS DRILL HITS THE CONCETE HARD!
This three function(hammer, rotation and hammer and rotation) highly versitale, compact sds drill is a must and a excellent chose for the contractor or weekend warrior that wants to drill masonary, cement and other concrete based products, with the greats of ease. I have had this drill for three weeks and like the power and weight for over head and wall drilling applications. The drill is a good tool - as though porter cable would produce a shoddy product. THIS DRILL ROCKS THE CONCRETE HARD! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Stand but No Feet!
This stand is a perfect fit for the Porter Cable 691RS Ultimate Router Workshop, with which I bought it. Assembly was easy, and the stand sturdy as can be. The only problem (and it's considerable) is that it shipped without the rubber bushings (feet) that the directions said were included. So it slides. If the manufacturer comes through with the feet, it'll be a five for value and performance. ... Read more
