5-0 out of 5 stars Fits a 36-650
It's so hard finding the right part from Delta's site or here. This is the one you need for a Delta 36-650. Some of the other reviewers mentioned having trouble with the fit, mine worked fine.

2-0 out of 5 stars Insert Doesn't Fit!!!
I own a Delta 10" Professional model table saw. One of the first and most necessary accessories I bought was a dado blade which entailed buying the table insert. After double checking model numbers, etc. to make sure I was buying the right thing, I got it home and it didn't fit. I had to use my angle grinder and quite a bit of time to make it fit. The insert works great now, but it was extremely frustrating having to "custom fit" it to my table saw, especially when the model number was supposed to fit properly.

3-0 out of 5 stars did not fit Delta Contractor saw correctly
I got this insert for my Delta contractor saw.
It is the correct model insert for this saw, just not made exactly right.
The insert was slightly to large for the opening on the saw and would not fit in.
I had to use a bench grinder to remove just a little material from around the insert before it would fit.
Now that it fits, it works well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dado Table Insert
I have been using a wooden table insert for years with my 8 inch Delta stacked dado head and have always had troubles with it depending on the weather. It would strink or expand and very seldom sit flat. Not anymore, this insert will take all those problems away, and for the time committment, you could not build a better one for the price. Why mess around making something like this when you can spend that precious time building a masterpiece. I highly recommend this and I wish I would have bought it with the dado head cutter. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars does what it says...but
it does what it is suppose to do. but, i regret my purchase. if you have some 1/2" stock laying around make your own and save the money. either jig saw or use a router and trim bit and make a copy of your original insert. get some set screws, tap the holes(for leveling) and you are set. i made mine in about 5 minutes out of mdf. works great and i can make more for different size dado setups.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dado insert doesn't fit
I purchased the insert with certainty from both Amazon.com and Delta that this is the right insert for my saw. There is only one problem, it is too large to fit in the saw. It is approximately 1/4" too long. In comparing it with the insert that came with the saw it is visibly larger. The only solution appears to be to grind it down as other reviewers have noted on the insert for the 8" Dado sets. While it can be done, it is disappointing for something that should simply drop in.

5-0 out of 5 stars Its an insert.
What can I say? I laughed. I cried. I cut dados.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just right
The dado insert is for my Delta Contractor Saw. It fits very snugly-- It requires a bit of force to un-seat the insert from the saw's throat. It could be that once the new paint is weared off, it could be easier. But I think it is better that way than too loose. The price is reasonable and I highly recommend it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T GET THIS DADO!!!
I have seen this dado head and I have read about how poorly this dado head cuts. I think That a Thin Rim Dado is much better. But if I were anyone that owns a dado head. I would get the Avemger Products dado sets. They look exactly like the Systi Matic Superfine dado head but they have three things that the Superfine dado head does not. First of all, These sets are available in 6 and 8 inch diameters ranging from 20 to 42 teeth. They also include a 3/32nd inch chipper while Systi Matic does not and you get 8 shims and a manual as well. As far as I'm concerned, The avenger sets look really good to me. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Carbide-tipped for longer life, Delta's 8-inch dado head stack fits snugly together to groove impressively smooth square-bottomed slots. The five inside chipper blades allow you the option of cutting dadoes up to 13/16 of an inch wide and as thin as 1/8 of an inch. The blades feature safety shoulders that help control overcutting, thus lessening the chance of kickback, a frequent hazard due to this type of cut's large surface area contact. All dado sets have some antikickback feature; Delta's performs as well as any of them. --Justin Paul ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Beat the price
Stackable dadoes are the way to go. I get a precision cut. When performing repetitive cuts, setup and cutting time is so much less when using a stackable dadoe vs. a router bit. I've used it to create many drawers and is excellent and convenient for rabbiting work and haven't had a problem.

4-0 out of 5 stars good dado for the money
i've had this dado set for over a year.i read all the other reviews, boy do some poeple knock it.the first few cuts i made were terrible too. but what i decided to do was buy a real shim kit & throw away that cardboard junk that came with it.shim kits are cheap.since then all the dado's are great.hard wood, soft wood, laminates, ect.also use your head & align the cutters equaly in the gullets of the outer blades,if they are not equally aligned around the blade & the 2 outer blades are not ligned up to each other, you will also have a poor cut.if i had the money to buy the freud super dado i probably would have, but after using this set why bother!!it is just fine.it has produced some beautiful stained cabinets out of oak & cherry.so save your money & get this set!! just remember to toss the cardboard shims!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Get the Freud instead
I bought this blade a little over a year ago and it's one of the biggest wastes of money that I've ever seen. Cuts through solid wood are only fair but the cuts through plywood leave a lot of tear out and the bottom is uneven and very rough. If you look closely at the picture you will see that there is a small plate attached to the inside of both the outter blades. I though these were a machined on integral part of the blade. NOT!! They are simply glued on as I discovered when one fell off. The quality of construction on this dado is way below par. Spend the extra money and get a Freud or Forrest(if you really have the extra dough). You will not regret it as I now do.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.
The 8" Delta stacked dado is dismal. I set it up to make a 1/4" box joint. Could probably have done better with a chisel. One of the outer blades is a larger diameter than the other, making a ragged bottom in the groove. Tried the same thing set at 3/8". Joint wouldn't fit right. Turns out the dado is really about .42" wide with the two outer blades and one chipper. Further setups revealed the chippers are not a uniform diameter. Don't waste your money on this. Spend it on a good one, like maybe a Freud or a Jesada. You pay for what you get. I wasted ($$$)on this. I'm going back to my old Craftsman 7" wobble-head dado. The Delta may become an anchor for my boat. Maybe it can do that right!

1-0 out of 5 stars Low quality cuts
You get what you pay for. The bottom of the groove is not flat. The width of cut is not precise requiring lots of time to set up and shim. The side walls are not clean. I would recommend saving your money and buying the more expensive Freud. It is a tough pill to swallow, but you will not be happy with this dado blade. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Rough cut
This Dado set by Delta produces rough cuts and edges with significant bat wings (.005"-.010" deep). I also had problems with mounting the blades on the arbor (center hole too small). The set is only suitable for general carpentry.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty much works as expected...
This set works well for me. The arbor hole for the right-side blade was a bit tight to fit over the non-treaded portion of my saw's arbor at first, but after a few installations/removals the hole has opened up enough to ease installation. Also, same problem with the chippers; the non-threaded portion of my arbor extends just past the inner face of the right-side blade. Only one of the chippers would fit over this shoulder. I figured out what was wrong, I simply marked that chipper and use it in the same position every time. Other than that, this set works as expected. The smaller size is more suitable for smaller, less powerful saws. I've used this set to cut dados in pine, MDF, oak and cherry with no problems exept for when I accidently mounted one of the chipper backwards. As with any stack dado set, you will probably need to use shims between the chippers to make dados of exact size. This set doesn't include any, but if it did I would give it another star. I like the Veritas shims, since they are color coded for thickness and can be inserted between blades without having to completdly remove the outer blades first. ... Read more
