4-0 out of 5 stars A great set for medium-effort projects
I almost bought the Freud that's featured on this site, but after thinking about it, I really couldn't justify the huge expense. This set is much larger (24 pieces covers a lot of potential routing needs), the case is a little easier to manage and carry around, and the price is so much better. I needed to round the edges of some bi-fold doors to make them fit a space, and the 1/2" round over (with bearings) worked perfect in my Bosch router. I also needed to put a lot of shelf grooves in a wall panel and the 3/8" straight bit was just what I needed. They are solidly built, the bearings glide smoothly, the case is well organized, and the cuts were exactly what I hoped for.

I just feel that this set is an excellent choice if you do medium-effort projects and you don't want to spend a fortune on the bits.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nicely made router bits
These carbide cutters are very well finished and so far have been very durable. Each one fits securely into a labeled holder to prevent contact with other cutter edges (which would dull them). They are made in China. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the price, but...
This is a good router table, for the price. That being said, I did have some problems. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. Unlike one of the previous reviewers who said he assembled it in 45 minutes... it took me 3 hours. This included a trip to the hardware store, because the hardware package provided was incomplete. No screws were provided to attach the subfences. (I used 1/4" x 1 1/2" carriage bolts for this and that seems to work adequately.) Also, I had to cut a couple of the insert bracket screws to allow the door to close, because the shorter ones specified were missing.
My other gripe is that I also purchased the pricey auxillary switch... it's a good switch, but didn't install as I had anticipated. I had intended to mount it on the bottom miter track slot, as per instructions. According to the specs for the switch, 'all new Bench Dog router tables come equipped with this slot'. However, the new RT150 ProTop I just purchased did not come equipped with this slot. That was a minor disappointment, and also increased the assembly time while I figured out another acceptable way of mounting the switch, as I definitely did not want to mount it on the fence.
The assembly instructions provided are very good and easy to follow. And they thoughtfully provide a nice assortment of screws for mounting most brands of routers to the insert plate.
I do recommend purchasing this router table. It's much better than any other I've seen in this price range.

They should double-check the hardware packages.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality well built table
This is my first router table and I don't think I'll ever have to buy another one. This thing is really nice. I am very impressed. I shopped around and looked at the Porter Cable (which got so-so reviews) and Craftsman (seem cheezy) but didn't want to spend an arm an a leg on some of the larger tables. Yet I still wanted quality. This has it. At a very reasonable ptice too!
It's heavy enough to keep it from sliding around, but has a lip on the bottom to clamp it to the work surface if you need to. It also has a lip on the table top for clamping feather boards etc.
The fence is solid, straight, and easily adjustable. It can even be shimmed(shims included) to be used as a joiner. Mine came with an upgrade from the acrylic plate to the phenolic plate. Nice suprise. It comes with a drilling template for mounting many popular routers to the blank plate. The instructions for assembly are straight-foward and easy to follow. It probably took me a half hour to 45 minutes to assemble taking my time.
The only drawback I have found is that you need to open the door to get to the power switch on the router. It would be nice if it had a switch built in to control the router and vacume, but then I guess it would cost more. I'll just add my own I guess. Benchdog does sell the switch if your intrested.
Because of that it really should get 4.5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW - A GREAT TOOL FOR BEGINNER OR PRO!
I received the Bench Dog Router Table last week from Tyler Tools (they shipped the product the next business day and I received it two days later! - instead of waiting for 1-2 weeks for shipment from Amazon and at the same price). It took two hours to assemble and route my first piece of wood. After a few adjustments I was doing perfect dovetails, v-cuts, chamfers, dados, etc. Not bad for someone who has never used a router before! I put the Bench Dog table on my workmate bench. It is heavy (44 pounds without the router) and is very stable during operations. Of course, I clamped the table to the bench for safety. The fence is easy to adjust and one side can be offset for joinery cuts. The tabletop had predrilled holes for all types of routers - I used the Dewalt 616 router.

If you are looking for a router table, look no further!

3-0 out of 5 stars Also on the waiting list.
Ordered this item on June 19th. Just got an update that the expected arrival date is July 28-Aug 3. Don't buy it here if you expect in in 1-2 weeks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Smaller Router Table
Just recieved and very pleased. Finish is perfect. Easy to put together. Tested it using my Porter Cable router on some walnut scrap - quiet, no vibration, great dust collection. 5-0 out of 5 stars Stop making sloppy dados
Tired of your dados being too lose when using plywood? These bits assure tight fits for undersized plywood joints and always, the Freud products work great. You can't go wrong with these bits.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Fit
If your doing some plywood joinery, these bits won't let you down. Incredibly smooth cuts with no tearout. These frued bits just "sing" through the material. Definitely worth the money.

We all know that a 2x4 isn't really 2" x 4", and plywood is the same way. These bits are undersized to compensate for the sanding process of plywood. These bits will provide a great fit without any slop.
Don't use this set for making Dado's for MDF because 3/4" MDF is really 3/4", 1/2" is really 1/2" and so on.
    I hope this helps

2-0 out of 5 stars Undersized
I have many Freud bits and saw blades. I have always been very happy with their products. Recently I added an Incra LS17 super system to my shop. Because of my past experience with Freud products, I purchased the Freud 8 piece set for Incra Jig. Much to my surprise both straight cut bits in the set were undersized, and produced unacceptable box joints using Incra scales. I returned the set and replaced them with CMT which work well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality
Freud = Quality. I always buy Freud products. Top quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
If you have the Incra-Jig system get the Freud bits. I bought a set of bits of dubious lineage for about half what the Freud bits cost and they did about half as good as the Freud bits. Almost all router bits do fine for the first couple of cuts, then the [low price] ones start to burn, tearout and in general make life miserable. Sooner or later, every woodworker gets over the "cheap tool" syndrome. Don't shortchange your Incra-Jig, get the Freud bits. One little gripe, I wish they would label the bits instead of just their part number.

1-0 out of 5 stars Rusted Shanks
I purchased this set as Freud is a well known name, I was disapointed when I found all of the bits to have rusted shanks. I will have to spend considerable time with emory cloth and WD before they will be put into my router. The box label also only lists their part number, no size and angle for the bits. On the positive side they do appear to be well sharpened, no chips on the carbide.

5-0 out of 5 stars Freud Bits
I found the Freud bits to be very sharp and well machined, a pleasure to use. Well worth the investment. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Very accurate tool
Just made a large fluted column with the guide, and it worked very well. The tool has a very large adjustable edge guide for stable contact with the wood edge. The micro-adjustment feature worked very well. Rods are lengthy, so cuts can be made a long distance from the wood edge. With the router attached, it is quite top heavy. I place a wood spacer under the rods when at rest, or else the router will tip over if placed upright. Save the box and use for a case, no case is supplied. Material used could be a little more solid, considering the fairly hefty price.

3-0 out of 5 stars Time will tell
At first glance the Bosch RA 1054 looks unwieldy, complicated and maybe even fragile with multiple poles, thumbsrews, springs and a large dial in the rear. But I must admit that after a thorough review of the owners manual and little pre-marking of my project the performace thus far has been pretty good. I used the guide to cut six mortises in solid maple 3x3 stock for a bed project I'm working on. To be honest, I completely skipped the use of the set-up dial by pre-marking all my mortises directly on the stock, then simply lining up the cuts based on the width of the router bit I was using. During use the guide is stable, with a large and stout edge that worked well with the stock I was routing. Smaller stock may present a different complication. The guide was cake to set up in both the plunge and fixed bases of the Bosch 1617pk I was using (which by the way works like a dream - if only I had gotten the variable speed model!). Downsides so far...no carrying case for the guide which I predict will lead to damage ultimately (remember all the poles, springs dials etc...protruding out) and despite the ample space in the case of the 1617pk router, the guide doesn't fit in there either. Additionally, the guide makes placing the router when not in use a real trick. Due to its size the guide tends to pull the router over if left inverted on the workbench, and tips it forward even if place bit side down. My solution so far is to rest the non-guide half of the entire setup on a piece of 1x stock which works pretty well. Time will tell how well the guide ultimately works with small stock, precise setup requiring the setup dials and the durability of the thing. But for now, it's all I was able to find to work with. Folks at Bosh need to take a look at the new Porter Cable guide. That things looks like a steel I beam, seems simple to use, has one-piece design and appears to be quite sturdy. If Bosch doesn't come to the table with one, maybe an aftermarket maker will. A router the quality of the 1617pk deserves to have accessories of the same quality and build. Overall this is an acceptable edge guide that could be sturdier, simpler and come with a carrying case. Good wood working everyone!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Guide
Does what it's supposed to. Good fit and finish. Micrometer adjust is worth its weight in gold.

4-0 out of 5 stars accurate and easy to use
The unit attaches easily and the micro adjust ( the same as on their 1617EVS router) allow you to get extremely accurate adjustments. It lives up to the High quality of all the other Bosch products I've owned.

1-0 out of 5 stars piece of *&#%
This edge guide seemed like it could be a good guide, but I never got to use it. I was measuring the distance from bit to fence to double check my work, and the router tipped over. Well, the piece of *&#% snapped in half. This tool is not for the clumsy, and is not built to last. Maybe I need to be a little more careful, but lets be realistic here. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Rousseau Base Plate
Not a lot to say about this product. It is made of very solid material and is very easy to install. Getting the router centered on the plate is the hardest part of the install and this was made easy by the circle marks on the bottom of the plate. All you have to do is find the set of circles that is the same size as your router base and clamp or tape it down.

I would have given this product a 5, but the center rings are a little difficult to remove. I like to use the plate just as much out of the table as in so i am ordering another to install on my second router.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rosseau router plate
I had some trouble getting my router centered in the plate. However, I found a way to overcome this: If it is a Porter Cable, collapse the router base all the way down until the base plate engages the collet nut. The nut will serve to center itself within the inner base plate removable rings. Sandwich the OEM router base plate between the router base and the new base plate. Use double sided tape to hold it in place. Now the OEM plate and the Rosseau plate should be stuck together. Set the unit up in a drill press and the OEM plate will have the holes located fairly close. Good luck!

5-0 out of 5 stars Centering a Bosch router is easy
Bosch 1613 and 1619 routers (and probably others) have clearance holes for mounting to a Bosch table. You can drill the Rousseau insert plate using the circle patterns on the underside at those locations to get reasonably close to center, mount the router with 10-24 machine screws and nylok nuts, and center it using a Porter-Cable 1/4 inch template insert and a 1/4 inch drill rod chucked in the router. Snug up the mounting screws and you're done.

The plate fits very well, although it is JUST large enough for the 1619 without rotating it on the insert. I did use the Rousseau template to cut the hole and rabbet the edge; you can make your own using the instructions with the insert, but for $14-15 it didn't seem worth the time.

2-0 out of 5 stars It's OK but its not flat.
Its actually pretty wavy. Received mine about 2 weeks ago and setting up a table for it. The surface has waves in it about 0.01 - 0.02 in depth. I was hoping for better. I may chuck it and start over.

5-0 out of 5 stars Installation tip makes the Rousseau plate even better
I wanted to add to my other review. I must admit, the installation tip that I am about to discuss, I discovered by from installing the Bench Dog RT-250 router extension table. It is the way Bench Dog does their installation. The great idea is to use melamine screws, which have flat ends, and coarse threads to make an adjustable platform for the Rousseau plate to sit on. Ok, let me ramble.
The problem is trying to rout out the opening, at precisely the proper depth, so the plate is perfectly flush with the top. A little too deep and you have a valley. A little proud, and you have a ridge to run into, and run the risk of your workpiece coming to a halt. So what to do? Rout out a 1/16" or 1/8" deeper than is necessary. Then drill holes a little smaller than the melamine screw size all around the outside lip. Since melamine screws are not tapered, the threads are the same size for the full length of the shaft. You can look up melamine screws here at Amazon with a search. They refer you to McFeeleys, which is a great business, with instant service, and a full array of screws and fasteners. Much more variety than the usual home centers. They have a box of 50 available. Ok so what is the big deal about using the melamine screws? This is it, by using the screws with the flat tips, screwed in from underneath, all around the circumference, you wind up with a fine adjust system for getting the Rousseau plate, perfectly level with the table top. Combining that with the four countersunk holes in each of the corners for securing the top, you get an incredibly adjustable platform for the Rousseau top. I used 14 melamine screws, equally balanced around the circumference. It enabled me to fine adjust the plate so well, that I was able to completely eliminate the ever so slight crown in the plate. Although I did attach it to a wide base plunge router, which I am sure contributed to the leveling.
Since the adjusting screws are now the contact point for the base, you are now given a lot more freedom in routing the opening. For one, you don't have to rout up to the edge all the way around. You can rout to just one depth, and for example create 45 degree angle corner shelves under the plate, thereby creating greater overall stability of the greater table.
This melamine screw installation is not exclusive to new installations, it can be easily done with an already installed plate. That way if you are dealing with a small dip on any edge, it can be easily corrected.
I thank Bench Dog for turning me on to this installation method, and to Rousseau for making such a great router plate. Once you install any manufacturers router plate using melamine screws for adjustability, you will never want to do it any other way. Hope this helps. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, responsive customer service
I have been facinated by the Incra Jig demos at woodworking shows for years. I was lucky enough to recieve a 24" ultra, the master template library, and the three videos as a birthday present.
The set-up was fairly simple if you take your time. I had one snag during set-up, I was missing one small bolt, I scrounged around and found the correct size at a local hardware store. I was up and running, cutting near perfect box joints and dovetails in just a few hours. I also was missing a template that was refered to in one of the videos. A quick e-mail to the incra (taylor design) customer support department had both the bolt and the template in the mail and delivered within a week, no questions asked.
Overall, this is an excellent product that does everything it promises, as long as you follow the instructions. The company was very responsve to correcting their errors and will get my business again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool with Bad Manuals
First of all this as an exceptional tool. I am a joinery novice but am now creating professional dovetail joints without problems. I have two comments that I think would be important to new users.

    1. The setup directions are very confusing. Incra includes directions for every jig variation and accessory variation all within the product manual. I actually had 4 (yes four!) different documents that I was being refered between and still couldn't find the exact document for my fence - until a change page fell out of one of the docs. I think that officially makes 5 separate docs. I guess Incra changes their products often and doesn't recreate assembly manuals.

    2. Setup is everything. If you get the router bit depth and find the board center accurately, you're home free. I've started using a dial indicator and caliper. It may seem like an overkill but the extra time upfront allows me to create near perfect joints all day long.

4-0 out of 5 stars A nice dovetail jig for small projects.
Without going over all of the other comments I would have to say this this is a nice tool. It does what it says it will. You can put together very nice looking basic dovetails as well as doing some fancy ones. The problem with this thing is that it gets mind numbing messing with that micrometer everytime you move the jig to make a cut. If you do not do it right each time error will start to show in your joints. That said, for a small box with only a few dovetail joints it is not a big deal, but if you are going to do LOTS of big things with many dovetail cuts you might find this gets old very quick. The big plus of this jig is its versatility. It comes with many sizes and patterns of dovetails that you can do in short order. Others have made note of the sharp edges on this jig and I would have to go along with them. It is not a big deal, but a point well taken and something that the Incra people should have taken care of. For the most part I think this is a very nice jig for the person that does small projects in small numbers. If you are going to make large number of big items I would go for the Leigh jig for not too much more money.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Incra Ultra24SYS
I've been working with wood 36 years now and can say that using the Incra Ultra24SYS is a pleasure. I have owned two other dovetail jigs, and this jig is by far superior either one of them. As with all dovetail jigs, set up is critical and can be somewhat time consuming. Once this jig is set up, repeatability is superb. I have read other reviews and agree with them for the most part. As for children being injured by the sharp edges on the ends of the aluminum extrusions, children should not be around this type of equipment. I do agree that plastic caps would look better and could solve this problem. This machine is a dream machine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Much needed, low cost improvements
I thought perhaps the viewpoint of a "Buyer/Researcher" might be helpful to others trying to make a decision on a fairly expensive investment. I am the type of tool purchaser who spends a great deal of time researching all major purchases. As I am going to buy a new tablesaw in the immediate future, I have investigated all the major fence, router table, dovetail machines, and other like systems by reading all the reviews, both magazine and internet, manufacturers catalogs and examining actual equipment at shows. Impressed as I am with the design, repeatibility, and quality of all the Incra products, something kept bothering me until I realized that the square cut edges on the ends of all the aluminum extrusions are a product liability lawyers dream and they detract from the beautiful gold finish! Trouble could occur the first time a child runs into an overhanging end,or some litigation minded adult cuts themself -it may happen.(By the way, I'm NOT a lawyer!) It would only take a simple plastic cap to snap on the ends such as other manufacturers use on their saws and accessories which have the same type extrusions. This would not cost Incra much and the greatly improved safety, appearance and contribution to overall quality would pay for itself many times over. At this point I should say I have decided to buy an Incra miter gauge, router table system, and tablesaw fence system in spite of this. I sincerely hope Incra takes this suggestion in the spirit in which it was written and implements this improvement to an already excellent product line. When they do I'll be the first in line to buy the end cap upgrade! The main reason I didn't give them a fifth star are those raw edges and I don't need to be an owner to find them objectionable. An additional possibly needed improvement are the clamping bolt ends on the TSIII Precision Table Saw Fence and maybe some of their other products. On the one I looked at, the metal to aluminum pressure gouged through the gold surface into bare aluminum. This left circular grooves on the inner track with tiny bits of metal. Perhaps the machine I looked at may not have been set up correctly. If it was, then the metal clamp's threaded ends need to have a non marring plastic end cap applied. This would keep raw aluminum from appearing anew in a different location with every fence adjustment. Again I may not be justified in this observation and even if I am, I still think the Incra systems are the best I have seen for quality, precision, ease of setup, adjustment, and repeatilibity that approaches machine tool standards ( Which the nature of the wood itself prevents much of the time ).There are several other excellent systems available from other companies but if the aforementioned assets are as important to you as they are to me, they will outweigh the very few faults I found. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Did not receive Fine Adjustment Control Extension
My base arrived without the Fine Adjustment Control Extension, and an inquiry to amazon.com customer service brought the reply that this was a widespread solution. I suggestion just sending me an extension, since they are sold separately, but I am still waiting for a reply.

    >
This letter was e-mailed to Bosch. Lets see if they are helpful.

    Dear Sirs,

I recently bought an RA1164 router base with fine adjust handle (to be mounted under a router table). I actually only needed the handle. I own about 8 Bosch routers and wanted to mount one undermount one. The fine adjust handle is easier to reach under a table.

Unfortunately the fine adjust handle broke off after a few weeks use. Examination shows that the construction of this handle is completely insufficient. The handle is threaded into a fitting on the router base. The threaded end of the handle is actually a hollow tube with walls about 1/16" thick. Any lateral pressure (sideways} can easily snap the handle off at this weak point, as happened to me.

Please let me know if you are willing to fix this problem with a different casting or other means of threading the handle, and how I can get the fix.

    Very truly yours

3-0 out of 5 stars Good base but watch the bit.
This is a great base for undertable use however....sometimes when I set the depth and then close the locking clamp, the router body (and bit) moves up (enough to make a difference). I've just learned to keep an eye on the bit when I close the clamp and usually when I readjust the depth, the router doesn't move again....Go figure!

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent solution for multi-use routers
Most of us don't have unlimited tool budgets and can't afford to sacrifice a fine router to permanent table use. On the other hand, continually screwing/unscrewing a router base from under the table can be a pain while dragging out project time. This seperate under table base is an excellent solution to that problem. The router motor slips in and out with the flip of a lever and a quarter twist, and locks firmly in place.

The RA1164 is essentially the same as the stock base supplied with the router, minus the nice wood handles. The real bonus is that the under table base has the same precision depth adjustment as the stock unit (1/16" per turn). It also comes with an extension for the depth adjustment that makes it even easier to reach in tight places. It's a great addition to any shop.

    Be advised that this RA1164 base only works with specific Bosch router models: 1617 (16171), 1617EVS (16176), 1618 (16181, 1618EVS (16186), 1617 220 volt (0601617161). ... Read more

The micro-adjustment sets this guide apart from others in its price range. It’s easy to adjust with a turn, and it’s marked clearly in white, so it’s easy to read. Setup is a breeze, and we got great results. Our favorite feature is the dust collection port, which, when hooked up to a standard shop vac, really kept the sightline clear of chips and curls. Construction is sturdy. If you don’t have an edge guide in your shop, this one’s definitely worth considering. Its virtues: easy setup, nice fine-tuning mechanism, accuracy and clean chip removal. A good bet for the home woodworker as well as the professional.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money
I purhcased this a few weeks ago from Amazon. I played around on scrap while getting the hang of it. It is easy to setup and use. I used it making some fluted trim and the vac port worked ok when working near the edge but hooking the shop vac directly to the Dewalt plunge router worked better. All in all well worth the money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Review of DeWalt universal edge guide
I received the edge guide a few days ago and used it to complete the mortising for the hanging brackets of my daughter's bed that I recently completed. I felt that the setup was a snap and it is easy to use. Prior to using the guide I made a few practice cuts so that I could get a feel for the adjustment and accuracy of the edge guide. Given how inexpensive this edge guide is, I believe it works great and have no complaints.

1-0 out of 5 stars bad points
I don't like this edge guide because
1.) it's so flimsy. The metal fence seems to be made of cheap metal.. it's almost like plastic.

2.) Also, adjustment is a bit awkward because you have to shim the fence up and down and side to side to move it. VERY TIME CONSUMING

3.) and it's easy to loose the spring-loaded adjustment screw if you loosen it too much

4.) MOST ANNOYING: if the router bit is not flush against the fence, you will CONTINUALLY generate strips of wood that actually jam inside the fence and elsewhere.

CONCLUSION - better get an edge guide from someone else. This one is cheap

5-0 out of 5 stars Great addon
This works very well. Very easy to setup and adjust, the micro adjust feature is great for dialing in exactly what is needed. The dust port works well when working on edges.

I've purchased this and put it on my router and did some plunge routing. 70 % of the chips were captured and the clean-up was considerably less. I also noticed that my dust mask seemed to plug up less. It apparently get the fine dust too. For the cost it's worth the effort. The black hose adapter converts the hose from metric to english. I would recommend that you convert to a larger hose fairly quickly because the small hose cause a significant loss in vacumm the longer it is. ... Read more

Whether you are making one or twenty cabinet doors, these bits from Freud will give you the results you are looking for. Red and white oak is no match for the sharpness of these bits. My one and a half horsepower shaper is enough power to turn the raised panel bit through oak with minimal drag. More power is better but less will do. The design of the bits prevents you from taking too much bite causing kickback and dangerous flying objects. The included instruction booklet provides step-by-step detailed instructions on constructing raised panel doors. I found this very helpful. The finished edges require no sanding and the fit, if time is taken for proper set up, is unmatched by competitors sets. I am currently replacing my entire bit collection with Freud products. Two words "they work".

4-0 out of 5 stars Door Hinge Template
Good product. Saved me alot of time. I installed about 15 doors and the template held up well. However, the bit is quite dull now. I recommend using clamps vs the nails to avoid fixing the holes. If you have alot of doors to hange like I did, you can make an 'L' shaped insert for the jig to route the strike plate recess. One fault of the product is the directions aren't very clear, especially for the 1/4 radius hinges. To cut these, you flip the jig around and use square portion of the jig. This square corner creates a 1/4 radius because the router bit is 1/4 inch. Make sure you practice a few times so not to ruin a good door.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done
Give this template a four. Not meant for everyday use it's a little 'wobbly' when using a router bigger than 1 1/2 hp but gets the job done. For someone looking to put a few new doors up it's worth the price to get super clean mortises. Not well explained in the instructions is how to acheive a 1/4"' radial corner. The material shows how to do the 5/8" and a square. Maybe those smarter than me would instantly realize that a router bit like the one included could never cut a square but it took me a few minutes of scratching my head until I realized the square set up is the 1/4" set up too. You just chisel out the corners for the square.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hinges quick and easy
I'm a commercial carpenter and I have found this template quick and easy to use. It makes routing hinge mortises simple. A big time saver. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I bought this product because of the cost factor. I couldn't see spending $200-$300 or more on a router lift. The directions are exceptional. All but one of the tools required to do the job I already own. I had to purchase internal spring clip pliers at the local auto shop. Works just as the description says. Templates, parts included, directions are all first class. A defenite must for my router table.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product and support
For the price nothing else compares. It is cleverly engineered and does exactly what it says (very well). I had an installation issue because of bad machining in my Freud FT2000e and Bob (the owner and creator) was wonderful in talking me through a fine solution. Everything is installed and works well. Can't imagine a router table without this or a some sort of lift. Consider this, for what you save buying this over a lift system you can buy an incrajig system!

Directions are clear and precise. Don't let the parts and directions faze you. Basically this is an easy installation modulo the imprecisions of routers (the Router Raizer itself is VERY precisely made).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product - Superb Support
After reading many magazine articles, advertisements and web sites about the product, I decided it was what I wanted and ordered it. When I received the package, I was satisfied everything was included as mentioned in the instructions. It is true that buyers will receive numerous parts and instruction pages, but after selecting those pertinent to the router being used, the contents are far less intimidating. My particular installation was on a Porter Cable 7539. Everything went together step by step, easily. BTW, I liked using the locater pin for drilling as opposed to the templates. When I had nearly completed the assembly, I noticed a slight gap between two of the parts and called Router Raizer's support number. I was very pleasantly surprised at the attention given to my situation. Friendly, courtesy and product knowledge all came together. The problem was minor - slight burr on the threads. On more than one occassion, I was asked if I wanted to put the phone down and "Bob" would wait. I was also asked if I could be available for a call back just to make sure everything was working as expected -- incredible!

The product is solid, looks good and functions as advertised. Table routing has never been easier. With product quality like this, lots of extra tips about sizes, safety, etc. and the customer service, Router Technologies is among the very best. Every single facet of the product delivers for the reason I purchased it. I think it is well worth the price and time, for all DIY woodworkers and the more serious.

I Just recently installed this product on the Hitachi m12v. The instructions (though a little wordy) are right on the money.

Bottom line is: If you follow the instructions you will not have any problems.

The product gives you the versatility to use it in the table as well as hand held.

The instructions did cause me concern about drilling my router table to accept the router raizer. I called the toll free number and the individual quickly and courteously dispelled my concerns. The drilling Templates provided were right on the money.

Took only 20 minutes to install the product on the router.

I was very delighted to find out that the individual who answered my call was the owner of the company. You could tell by the confidence he had in his product that I was not going to have any problems. He was right. I would recomend this product to anyone. Very well thought out and easy to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars This set with a 3 1/2" panel bit is great for kitchen cabs
The popular 5 piece set is what I initially bought. It includes the glue up joint bit, which is nice for gettting a lot of panels to line up properly while gluing. It also includes the door lock bit, which will turn your raised panel, into a drawer front by removing the material around the edge of the back of the door face.
I bought this set as well. Why? Because when making kitchen cabinets, the raised panel bit that they provide with the set is too small for a large cabinet. (Unless you prefer that look) So I bought this set, to pick up the 3 1/2" panel raising bit. That requires a large opening of at least 3 5/8" on the bottom of your router, and the opening on your router table as well. The Bosch 1619EVS is even larger than that. The Fein RT-1800 allows for the the use of a 3 1/2" bit, but the casting prevents you from plunging a bit that size. Not really recommended, because you might accidently adjust it into the base. Their are others also, but most fixed base 2 HP routers won't accept such a large bit. So measure first.
Overall this is a great set of bits. They do a great job, and last a long time. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars very nice and sharp set
I just purchased the 3 piece cab. bit set from freud and I am very excited. The set came within a few days of ordering- thanks Amazon. The bits are extremely sharp and the finish is excellent. The box that comes with the set is well constructed to keep the bits safe and free from dust, which is nice. The only concern that I initially had was whether or not the 3 1/2" bit would fit in my router base opening. I have a 7539 p.c. router and the opening is 3 1/2". I had to file the opening just a little to make the bit fit. I am sure that you will find this most acceptable. The cuts with the bits are very clean, just like the ads say, and there are no pieces of fuzz on the top of the profile on the end grain. This will save some valuable time. All in all, very good product and the price was extremely good. In fact, the cheapest I could find. ... Read more
