Works, but doesn't feel like a quality tool
I used this tool to align the blade on a Grizzly G1023 table saw. I also used the MasterPlate. I have to say that although this tool performs as advertised, the cheap plastic base is pretty lame. I already had a dial indicator with a magnetic base, but I thought the MasterGage would be simpler to use. I was wrong. Assembling the tool is not difficult but involves fooling around with small parts twice: once when taking the tool out and again when putting it back. They at least should have a box that let's you store it assembled.

The most accurate device for setting up a table saw
I'm a professional and always set up equipment the way my mentors did. I decided to try the super bar when I bought my new cabinet saw, and it set my fence precisely on the money. I eliminated burning, most kick backs, or binding typical when using a saw. Best money I ever spent and highly recommend this tool for anyone looking for precision....

Lumber Junkie
This product does exactly what it is marketed to do. Its drawbacks are that the base is made out of plastic. The 3 adjustment screws that ensure tight fit within the miter tract loosen w/ small movements. This necessitates repetitive adjustment for accuracy. It would be awesome if mounted to a metal base. Not worth the High Price asked.

Great Stand
I ordered the recondioned model and I am very happy. I received the item in less than a week. It went together like a charm. It only took 1 hour to put together and to mount the scrollsaw.

3 leg stand
If you aren't aware of it DeWalt originally produced this 3 legged stand. For some reason they changed suppliers and decided to use a 4 legged stand that wasn't as rugged. I called DeWalt and questioned them about the change. They informed me that after NUMEROUS complaints they were going back to ther ORIGINAL style stand. The current stand ia a quality built heavy and solid
place to trust your scroll saw. there are also holes in the base of the legs to bolt it to the floor if you'd like.

Doesn't fit the saw!
Unfortunately, the three holes provided in the stand do not match up with the intended bolt holes in the saw base. With the front two bolts inserted through the base and stand, the rear bolt slides off the opening in the rear of the base to a 45 degree angle, and does not give a firm grip, even after adding large washers. This is very sloppy manufacturing. The stand itself is not solid at all. Save your money and make a stand of your own and it will be better than this poorly designed and made piece of junk.

Battery Charger Solution??
I will add my two cents to many other reviews which mention problems with Black&Decker Firestorm battery chargers --- STAY AWAY FROM Black & Decker battery-powered tools. I purchased a second B&D Firestorm 18V drill just to get a new charger (the one with my first drill went bad). In no time, the second charger went bad. I ordered two MORE chargers from the B&D warranty/service website. One went bad after a few months, and when I then tried the second one IT NEVER WORKED AT ALL. Trying to contact B&D is impossible, you just get an automated run-around. BEWARE!

UPDATE: In all fairness, after writing this review I was FINALLY able to get thru to a Customer Service rep at B&D who is sending a charger -- no charge. Kudos to Holly at B&D and an upgrade to 3 stars. Also, it was explained to me that I should test my battery packs for bad cell(s). Charging "bad" battery packs will ruin the charger. Even a seemingly "good" battery pack can have a bad cell and will fry a charger. I was given a battery test procedure which I also found in a Service Bulletin on the web at www.dewaltservicenet.com. Testing Procedure: Place the battery pack in the charger for 2 minutes, take the battery pack out, put a volt meter on it and if it is less than 18V you have a bad cell(s) and the battery pack is bad. Continuing to charge a bad battery pack eventually ruins the charger (4 times in my case -- duh!). I followed this procedure and sure enough found one battery out of four was bad (although it seemed to run the drill just fine). Kind of an inconvenient thing to have to do prior to charging a battery pack, but it beats buying more chargers and preserves my investment in drills and batteries. ... Read more

This tripod works

Finally, some accuracy!
I just bought one of these for my old Delta-Rockwell table saw. The accuracy for mitered cuts is incredible. At this point, I can only find two faults with it. First, the guage blade is an anodized aluminum extrusion, with channels in it to hold the adjustable stop. The front surface of this blade is so slick that I have a hard time holding the stock stable while feeding it into the saw. This front surface needs to be tactile to keep the stock from slipping. I plan on adding a layer of self-sticking stair tread safety grip.
The second fault is the two screws which hold the guage blade to the protractor. After setting the miter blade position for 90 degree cuts, the blade position is secured by two allen head screws (wrench is provided). But, to make 45 deg. or other angled cuts, the blade needs to be re-positioned with respect to the saw blade and that requires loosening the screws with the allen wrench - sort of awkward. If these screws were thumb-screw type or maybe some sort of cam lever, changing the miter blade position wouldn't be so tedious.

Great Incra Features for a Great Price
Not only was I impressed with the product, but the packing was superb, usually things arrive poking through the box but even the carton was well designed. Setup was a cinch, the instructions included photos and clear directions. I was already prepared thanks to Incra's offering the instructions on their website for the 1000, 2000 and 3000 Models which also offered an opportunity to compare their features. The Model 1000, although at the low end was very similar to the Model 3000 except that it uses a simpler design to calibrate between the 5 degree settings; a gauge rather than a second incremental set of notches, which, although more accurate, was much more than I needed. Adjusting the miter bar was also simple but I found I had to come down hard on the screws to expand the nylon washers to fit the saw groove. Squaring the head to the blade was simple and much easier than squaring the blade to the old style, fixed head miter gauges. Incra supplies you with all the hex wrenches you need including a long handled, ball head driver for adjusting the fence. A word about the fence: the 1000 Model uses a simple sliding stop block which you can use if you attach an auxiliary wood fence. I would prefer the flip-stop which comes with the 2000 model because the stop can be moved forward to clear a 3/4 inch wood fence face. This fence does not use the Incra indexing system, however, all things considered it is an impressive and extremely accurate device, somewhat heavy, but well made and extremely well thought out. ... Get, you'll need it sooner or later
Purchased it with Milwaukee's cordless screwdriver just in case. Well, I needed it for a task within a week after receiving it. I would not have been able to do the task with the cordless otherwise. Get it. You'll be glad you did.

Buy it now, because you'll need it later
If you have an electric screwdriver, you gotta have one of these. Compact, rugged, smooth. Has a indexed handle that can mount in a variety of positions to offset the torque. Sooner or later you're going to have a use for this on a Sunday night, when all the stores are closed, so get one now, you wont regret it! Identical as one produced by AEG, now owned by Milwalkee.

Best Tool For Tight Spots
We use this tool all the time installing stereos in cars. This tool is extremely versitile in getting into hard to reach or impossible situations. There are cheaper imitations on the market, but they do not hold up like this model, especially when used with a cordless screwdriver or drill. Add a set of hex shank drill bits to add to the versitility of this tool.

Great addition I wished I would have bought right w/product.
When I bought my new Karcher pressure washer, I was not sure if I needed an extension pressure hose. Well, I figured pretty quick when using the pressure washer in real life, that it was not fun at all when washing the sidewalks around the house, that I had to pull an electric extension cord and a regular water hose around the house with the pressure washer. For washing the car only, the standard pressure hose works fine as long as park the pressure washer close to the car. But for serious work around the house, the high pressure extension hose is a must and a great addition worth well the money spent for much less hassle. ... Read more

no manuals
The Jess Em Mast-R-Lift arrived with out any manuals or supporting documents. The template was also ordered and is nothing more than a 16 X 19 in. by 3/4 in. thick MDF board with a hole in it without instructions. The $9.90 cost for the template is excessive as a 4 X 8 foot sheet of MDF can be purchased for less money.
The use of the template requires the hole to be cut with a 1/2 inch bit with a with a 3/4 inch bearing, none of which are supplied by the vendor.

If you have or are considering the Porter Cable 7518...
If you have or are considering the Porter Cable 7518 model, JessEm makes the MAST-R-LIFT which works great. Rockler has it if you can't find it here and there are adapters to fit other models. If you intend to use the 7518 only in a router table, then buy the MAST-R-LIFT and only the motor unit of the 7518. It'll save you some $$. Didn't know you could do that. You may get other router vendors via a replacement motor unit. If you're buying a 3+ HP router, that motor is going to be very heavy. Now some router lifts are L shaped and the motor gets strapped on the side. Over time you may not get the consistent support needed for heavy routers. The MAST-R-LIFT is H shaped--giving two vertical bars of support and balanced consistent support. The only bad thing, is I think these units (for their price) should include a template and instructions to route the supporting hole. You might also consider getting an external on/off switch. Also in your table design, plan access to that variable speed switch too. A motorized drive is a luxury and would have to be carefully stepped to get fine adjustments. The crank works great. I did find the plastic inserts a little stiff, but you can touch them up with a Dremel tool if need be. One last point. Always remove the crank handle before you change bits. I didn't do this once, and got a bad cut on my knuckle.

I HAVE BEEN USING A JESS-EM ROUT-R-LIFT FOR ABOUT A YEAR WHEN I BUILT A ROUTER TABLE TO USE WHEN I DIDNT NEED THE POWER OF A SHAPER. MY ROUT-R-LIFT HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO ALL KINDS OF HEAVY USE IN MY CUSTOM FURNITURE SHOP. I DO ALOT OF WORK WITH MESQUITE WHICH IS VERY HARD AND TOUGH ON TOOLS. Addendum
I've had the JessEm lift for more than two years now, and I've learned a couple of things.

I'm very satisfied with the quality of the lift. I've not had any problems at all with it. My cuts are smoother than when I had the router attached directly to the table (I don't know why), so no one has to worry on that score.

When using the PC7518 router with the Jess-Em, one can discard the standard base and make a base that brings the motor closer to the top of the table. Fine Woodworking magazine (issue 153 p. 58) has a picture of this as part of an article about building a router table. The purpose is to make changing bits possible without dismounting the router.

There are now other router lifts available that are similar to the JessEm and which have some useful features such as zeroing the lift scale, leveling screws, and direct motor mounting (ie, without the router base). They're advertized in FWW and probably other WW magazines. One make has a cast iron table! They also cost about $100 more, and I don't know what their quality is like. At these prices, if one includes the cost of the router and the table, one might as well buy a small shaper.

I'd like to agree with the other reviews on Fein: great tool funky blades. Can Lenox or Starett make blades for the MultiMaster?

Convenience but no Quality
I love/hate this blade along with the Fein sander. The tool and blades like this are so convenient; they get you in tight places, allowing a lot of control, but this blade, along with the e-cut blades are...poor value for the money. They are not bi-metal like good recip blades, or carbide, like good saw blades, they're just plain steel, and they don't last. I have a table saw blade, I paid [$$$] for, but it'll last a lifetime, because it's good quality carbide, and it can be sharpened. As for blades like this one, if you're a contractor like me, you better have a big markup for overhead, because these babies are going to cost you. I actually took my complaint to the company; the rep I emailed said they pleaded with the manufacturers in Germany to make the price more reasonable, but to no avail.

saw blade Fein?
I've used the flush cut saw blades for a couple of years to open painted windows in old houses and have discovered the blades just don't hold up. Hopefully the new ones will hold up better but I would expect more from a company that make such a heavy duty tool. I am about to try the metal cutting blade (flush cut) and hope it doesn't clog up. Does what it says it does
Other than the initial horse work it will take to get your saw into/onto this base, everything else is cake. It is solid with no signs of stress or bowing. The tubular steel ensures that. The castors had no problem with my Jet cabinet saw. It was nice to easily tuck that beast of a saw against the wall in my limited-spaced workshop some people call a garage. The Quality Tool Super Deal
The Fein Multimaster is an exceptional tool. The concave cutting blade that comes with the multimaster kit, does a nice job, but it dulls rather quickly. It is not made out of the hardened steel of the Feins optional blades. They are pricey, but the quality is there. The thing this kit does for you is give you the most frequently used blades at a substantial savings over their individual prices. The professional kit that superceded this one, was for the same price, and did not include the extra blade. The price you have to pay for just a couple of the pieces, you can buy the whole kit. This super professional kit is one sweet deal. Softens the price of the tool at least a little bit.

Only buy authentic Fein accessories
I would like to suggest you see my other reviews of Fein accessories. And, I would like to suggest you don't buy from Feinblades.com. They have no affiliation with Fein company. Buy authentic Fein accessories. They cost more, and I don't like paying more than I have to for anything, but, I have such respect for fine Fein tools that I willingly pay more for genuine Fein accessories. These are not only authentic, but, the original detail sander tools. They invented it and the rest have to scrounge for the unpatented crumbs.
