5-0 out of 5 stars Good nails. Good price.
If you have a Porter Cable FR350, for some reason finding nails can be a slight problem. The mega home store with the orange sign has them, but not consistently. So these are a good stop-gap until you can find more.

They drive well and seem to hold well.

3-0 out of 5 stars Won't work with the PC FR530 Nail Gun
These may be great nails, but they'll probably jam and misfire with the Porter Cable FR530 nail gun. The FR530 needs plastic-collated nails, not paper-collated like these are. I made the mistake of buying a ... case of paper-collated nails, only to have non-stop problems with them. Only on the Porter Cable website does it mention that the gun uses plastic-collated.

3-0 out of 5 stars a bit short
good nails, good collating, but they are not 3-1/2 inches long, only 3-1/4......

5-0 out of 5 stars Some Excellent Nails!
If you are looking for the highest quality nails for your nails gun then you better get these. I have used these forever and they have performed to the highest extent the whole time. They have never jammed or messed up my guns. These are top of the line ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Miter Gauge for Your Table Saw
This is another superduper product from Incra! The versatility of this fixture is amazing. I assembled and squared it to my blade in minutes. I have a left tilt saw so I set it up for both miter slots. Changeover from one side to the other is only seconds after the first time. They provide extra fasteners to act as "stops" for the fence position so you don't have to check blade clearance each time you swap sides (as long as you are using a regular blade, dado sets will require additional adjustment.) They also provide screws to fasten an auxiliary wood fence up to 3/4" thick. I left mine a little long on both sides so I could index the kerf in it. The 24" length of the metal fence allows greater control of longer pieces. The cleat can be micro adjusted to fit the miter slots on your saw - NO PLAY!

Setting exact angles is a matter of dropping the index point into a tooth at the desired angle and tightening the knobs. As with all Incra products, you can set a position between whole degrees and there is a jag at 22 1/2 degrees for box builders.

The "Shop Stop" provided with it is a gem. It is attached to the fence with Incra's precision indexing system, but is also infinitly adjustable. It has a stop bar that is adjustable with a screw to smaller tolerances than I need. There is also a verticle flat stop that is run down to a mm or so above the table. You can also fasten shop made stop blocks to the fixture for special shapes (i.e. angled ends).

The Instructions for both items are simple and clearly illustrated with line drawings. Put one of these on your saw and you'll never want to leave your shop!

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, accurate miters
What a great addition to my shop! I have set up my Craftsman contractor's saw as the center piece of my shop. I perform as many operations there as I can. This tool has given me the accuracy I desired in making miters and in cutting stock to length. It took less than 10 minutes to set up (I set mine to work on the right side of the blade) and my first cut was dead square.

While the included stop is extremely accurate, it lacks a hairline pointer for easy set up. Once you figure out how to sight down the end of the stop, it's simple enough to use.

What really makes this guage great is the fact that you get absolute repeatability. 45 degrees is 45 degrees everytime you set it. No fuss and no doubt.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
I have owned the Incra Miter Gauge (bought before they started different models) for a couple of years and would have to say it is not worth the cost. I cannot begin to estimate the amount of time I have spent trying to set it to get a consistent 90 deg cross cut. I finally gave up and got a similar product from a different company for less, and although it is not dead accurate - its closer than I ever got with the Incra. Many claim success - but I have to wonder how long it took them to get it that way - and does it keep its setting, mine does not. Good Luck.

4-0 out of 5 stars Poor set-up, good operation
The short version: set-up took about 3 hrs due to poor directions, sloppy detailing and bad drawings. Operation met expectations.

If you buy, prepare as follows:

1. Get about 10 machinist shims in increments of .001 or .002. These will be needed to adjust to square with your table. This beats measuring slips of paper with a micrometer and figuring out how many to slide into place. Mine took .005 to square. Their "Tip" between steps 1 and 2.

2. Do calibration step 1before step 2 in assembly to avoid double handling. Remove the allen screws and rub with some wax or dry lubricant. The screw heads build-up so much friction against the plastic expansion washers that you can almost break your 7/64 allen wrench.

3. When setting up for the right side --IGNORE their drawing and instructions. They show a through slot connecting the fence to the mounting bracket. It is not slotted which means that when you remove the fence; you can't get in back in with loose washers supplied. I ended up making a ball of wax paper to put behind their slotted washer to be able to reinstall the cap screws -- this will make sense when you see the unit.

Remember that you will have to do the same table squaring step for the right side as you did on the left.

It's incredible that they supply a part that's completely different than their drawing.

4. The Shop Stop is generally well designed part, but the manual provided is useless for initial set-up. The rack system is very accurate and the positioning works well after you set the rule to your machine.

In operation, the unit is excellent. Changing from 90 to 45 takes 5 seconds and is totally accurate.

Too bad they don't have someone in engineering actually assemble the unit from their drawings and instructions before sending out to customers.

2-0 out of 5 stars There are better miter gauges
The INCRA 2000 has two faults.
1) The Angle bracket that holds the fence is just a bent piece of steel. Mine was far from square and had a slight twist. Tired of the recommended shimming to correct, I made my own from angled stock.
2) The handle easily comes loose in use, allowing the fence to move on the base plate during a cut. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent design and value
If you don't want to spend over $250 for a set of carbide hole saws, then this is as good as it gets at a fraction of a carbide set's price. The best feature about this Bosch set is the terrific quick-connect mandrel system. The hole saws, regardless of size, snaps in and out of the mandrel easily -- no tightening or screwing needed. The saws are sharp. I used the set to install locksets in two metal-clad wood doors without breaking into a sweat. Highly recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mirka Rules!
Mirka paper is not only the quality choice; it is also a bargain at Amazon prices. I had previously purchased a full box of Mirka paper for my 6" sander, in the most popular grades. Have since done a lot of sanding with it. This brand of sandpaper is great. It is aluminum oxide which lasts and lasts. Additionally the backing pad is made from thick material, so it holds up well, and won't bugger the edges of your sander.
I had a body shop for twenty years, and came to realize the advantage of quality sandpaper. The cheap stuff does not hold up. You will go through a zillion sheets of paper, and will actually cost you more because of it. The Mirka paper lasts so long, that I wind up with a used stack. By the time it is to change to a different grit, the existing piece isn't worn out yet, so I keep them.
I went into Home Depot and checked out the Norton paper, I wasn't impressed. It also costs less per box, but they only give you 25 sheets instead of 50 like these Mirka boxes. So you get twice as many sheets here for only half again as much money. Not only is it a bargain up front, then the paper lasts a lot longer, not to mention the superior job it produces. You can't beat that.
This is the paper deal you want. Load up. Mirka rules.

1-0 out of 5 stars This stuff won't stick to my Porter Cable 333 hook & loop
This is the worst paper I have ever used!!!

It will not stay on my sander. Any other brand's of paper I have used have all stayed on, but this stuff won't. I wish I had as good of luck with Mirka as every one else did on this review.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best
This has been the best I have used. It will outlast 3m by 2 to 1. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smiply the best....
When I bought my sander I thought the manufactures brand would be the best....... not so. A good friend suggested I try Mirka sanding disks and I am sure glad I did. I use hook and loop on 4 different sanders I own and have yet to loose a Mirka disk yet. A few others I have tried did not hold well and loaded up very easy. Nothing anyone says will prove the quality better than trying them yourself.... you will be back for more!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excuse my dust
I build Western Red Cedar outdoor furniture and needed a good sander and sandpaper that would hold up to all day usage. I purchased the variety pack and find that all grades of paper to solve my everyday needs for finishing my chairs. I've tried other brands and they all seemed to evaporate quickly. I find the Mirka discs to be of good quality and their longevity is impressive enough for me to buy them again. ... Read more

  • Includes 2 stops (1 for each side of the blade)

Reviews (6)

3-0 out of 5 stars Compatibility with DW703
The good news is that these stops fit onto the DW703 very nicely. The bad news is that when set fully out, there is only 3 2/3 inches between the backstop and the crown stop. Not much room at all to work with, so I hope your crowns are small.

1-0 out of 5 stars If I could design and sell a product like this I'd be rich
Yes, they should be a bit longer to allow six inch crown. They should also have a quick release mechanism. but these are minor complaints.
Look closely at the picture. I can't understand how they can charge this price for an item that obviously can be made for 1/10 the price (look at the picture again). I still bought them because you really must have them if you do any anount of crown. The real disapointment is that for that much money you'd think they would at least be square. Mine are not (out of the box). When dewalt sat down and designed this thing there were only two basic requirements - it must attach to the side of the saw with a slot that allows adjustment and then turn square so as to be parrallel to the fence. It is totally unbelievable that they could fail at this. No name tools manufactured on a dirt floor in the south pacific would likely be more succesful in producing this product.
On the flip side I still use this product all the time and it is in fact very helpfull when working with crown.

4-0 out of 5 stars good idea
I have these on my DW708 and the really help. HOWEVER they arent long enough for really large crown and I would like them to incorperate a quick release device . This would prevent time consuming removal when switching to different materials .Beyond this they are very nice .

1-0 out of 5 stars Not all they seem to be
If you have the DW706 double compound saw you might be disappointed with these stops. They will NOT cut crown larger that 5 1/4" which is far less than the 6" crown that saw is capable of. There is a review that talks about this a little more on the DW706 page.

5-0 out of 5 stars These are worth their price in gold.
They fit correctly, secure well, and make the job of cutting crown molding a virtual breeze. No more messing with making 2 adjustments (bevel and miter) on your saw. Set these up once for the width of the crown molding that you're cutting, and you'll typically only have to make your miter adjustments, which is easy when your DeWalt has the positive stops for the crown molding cuts. In addition, due to the way they hold the crown molding, they eliminate the mistake of having the molding facing the wrong way when you're making your cuts. ... Read more

  • Fits on a 30-gallon metal trash can
  • Molded ABS fitting

Reviews (19)

5-0 out of 5 stars I Can't Believe I Waited So Long to Get This!
If you are doing any dust collection, particularly from stationary machines, you've got to get one of these. It lets the large chips from planers, jointers, lathes, table saws and floor sweeps drop into a 30 gallon galvanized trash can (that you supply). This is so much easier than endlessly dumping the bag on a dust collector.

Another great reason to have one of these; how many times have you accidentally sucked up an important piece of hardware and spent hours sifting through a dust bag trying to find it? Metal parts will drop to the bottom of the barrel where they are easily found. This also saves the impeller blades of your dust collector from damaging impacts. I always empty it before sweeping the floor, just in case I encounter a stray chunk I want to recover.

You should keep the barrel dumped fairly often, as this will increase efficency. The only thing better would be a cyclone system, but they are more costly and take up more space. This unit is also quite portable, which is handy in a one-hose shop.

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you put one of these to work in your shop. You'll wonder how you ever worked without it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for any DC system.
I thought the dust collection system was the best thing a ever got, but after adding this to the system, the Woodstock Dust Collection Separator is the best thing I got. The bag in the DC machine is not the easiest thing to change, not impossible to change, just not easy. The Woodstock DC Separator lets you collect and empty in a 30 gallon garbage can, very easy to remove the lid and empty the can.

The Separator will collect the large particles and some dust, allowing the smaller dust to be collected in the DC bag. But don't wait for the garbage can to fill up before emptying it. The fuller the can gets, the less area for the particles to drop, so empty the can about at half full. When running my lathe or planer, that could be quite often. BUT, it is easier than emptying the bag, OR sweeping them off the floor without a DC system.

No Dust Collection System is complete without this product.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as pictured........
First off let me say that it works and that it does so pretty well. However.....the item is certainly not as pictured. The way it fits my 30 gal metal trash can reminds me of a little kid trying to walk in his/her parents shoes! Waaaay too big, overhanging each side by probably 6" or so. I finally had to bungee it on the can so that it would stay in place. As an earlier review noted, connection of the hoses is not that easy either. If you have the clear, wire-reinforced hoses you can thread them in like a screw. Otherwise you may need to add some sort of connector.

5-0 out of 5 stars I don't know how I got along without it!
This has to be the best value in my shop. I used two spiral 4" connectors on the inside of the lid to connect to hoses outside. These spiral connectors let the hoses pivot. I don't disconnect the hoses but use 4" adaptors to hook to hoses from each machine.
I've filled up a 33 gallon trash can three times and haven't had to empty the dust bags on my Jet vacuum yet.
But, even better, I can vacuum up all those little scrap pieces of wood and stuff and not wince everytime they hit my blades.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but...
For that price it should come with the hoses show in the picture and have a way to clamp them on at least, boy I would have been pissed if I had ordered this and didn't get the stuff shown in the photo! ... Read more

This case fits the unit like a glove (quite literaly) and has two pockets for the leg extension (mine as well get that too) and instructions. The case is padded and made of black nylon. 5-0 out of 5 stars Blades Last a Long time and are EASY to Install
I have been running the same set of blades in my Delta 22-560 Planer for over a year. I use them to plane quarter-sawn white oak and have done about 1500 board feet. The blades are still sharp. I have not yet felt a need to flip them. I did remove them once to see how hard it would be. The locator holes in the blades made it EASY. The tight tolerence between the holes and the locator pins insured a minimal (less than .002")runout. The only possible problem is that the two blades MUST be ground exactly the same, there is no method to fine tune the alignment. This is not really a big problem for most sharpening services. The price is quite good, I would call them a good value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blade review
There is no comparison to blades that go into other planers that require tedious alignment. These have alignment pins to give you an exact fit every time, plus, they are reversible, so for 2 knifes, you get 4 cutting edges. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

We've all dealt with drill bits that couldn't stand up to our everyday demands. Fortunately, Milwaukee's 13-piece cobalt bit set can. 5-0 out of 5 stars Yikes!
I purchased these as a gift for the home improvement junkie that I share a house with and guess who uses them constantly? ME! They are razor sharp and quite an upgrade from the cheap dull ones we had previously. Don't buy cheap tools! They are dangerous and frustrating. We also have the 14 volt Milwaukee cordless drill and I love that too. Very happy with the bits.

5-0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favor
These will be the last drill bits you will need to buy. They are super hard and will go through the toughest heat-treated metal. You will need to be carefull with them; even though they are hard, they will break if you were to drop them onto a concrete floor. But will a little care they should last a lifetime. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This one is a loser.
I read all the reviews at Amazon.com on this item and still did not believe that the HTC mobile base could be as bad as some folks say it is. After receiving it, I can say that the reviews were right. Without leveling bolts, the base is useless and the wheel lock-downs are made of cheep materials. The base can be unstable on uneven floors. I stood on the center rail that holds the extended table and my 155 Lb weigth caused the base to sag. This was before the saw was placed on it. HTC said I have 30 days to return it with no questions asked. I would except that I invested [money] and two days to beef it up and put levelers on the thing...

1-0 out of 5 stars WEAK LOCKING MECHANISM ON MOBLE BASE
I WAS DISSAPOINTED IN HOW ACCESSABLE THE LOCK WAS ON SWIVEL WHEEL AND HOW SECURE IT LOCKED. VERY HARD TO USE

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best way to move a saw.
I recently purchased this base to move my new Jet cabinet saw in and out of my small work shop and onto the deck in front. There is a small drop (1/2") from one floor to the other. This method of base construction will not allow the saw to make this type of transition. For me that was a big negative. The base is of no use. Also, the base arrived with one of the two taped holes for the wheel locks left blank. Any minimal quality check would have spotted this. When I called HTC they said to tap the hole myself. For what I paid for this base I could have made my own much better. The only good thing I can say is it's sturdy and the finish is good. I guess I'll try to sell it. Look carefully before buyung this base.

2-0 out of 5 stars A merely adequate solution
I purchased the mobile base with Jet table saw and also found that when the saw was initially placed on the base (before adding the fence rails and extension table) the base bowed toward the floor in the middle; in fact the bottom of the saw was a good half inch lower toward the center of the base than toward the outside of it. The base ulitmately relies on the rigidity of the fence rails and extension table in order to keep it straight/level. I also found that this made it difficult to line up the extension table with the cast iron top during assembly. As another reviewer noted, the base would also be more useful if it had some sort of jack screws to allow it to be leveled when not in rolling mode. I purchased two heavy duty toggle clamps and mounted them to the base so that they push against the floor when the base is parked. For the price of this base, I would have expected more.

The design of the Delta mobile base seems to be more solid; it has two rails between the saw and the end of the extension table rather than one (more strength and less bowing), and it does have leveling screws incorporated into its design. If I could easily lift the saw and place it on a Delta base, I would be tempted to do so.

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy with, But....
I bought my base with my new 36-960L Unisaw because I knew I'd need to be able to position it and reposition it alone.
I am pleased with it, and it rolls the big HEAVY saw around fine.
My bone is when I have the saw positioned, I wish it had jacking screws to anchor it and plumb it.
So I'm making some corner "Shoes" with jacking bolts for that very use.
My garage floor has a slight slant to it for drainage reasons and I have resorted to wedging the HTC base to plumb it up level.

Otherwise, I think it's a fine base and made moving the big saw in/out/and around very easy.
I'm very glad I got it! With jacking bolts I'd give it 5 solid starz. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the sharpeners
I have had a Makita 9820-2 for over 6 years. I would not try to sharpen my planer blades or chisels with any thing else. You can never burn the blade. I lost my 9820 in the Isabell Hurricane when it was submerged for 4 days in salt water. I bought a new one. To the person who complained about not having a coarse wheel for the 9820-- there is a 60 grit, 7 inch wheel made for it. check Makita 741074-9, at $44.99 free shipping. How can you go wrong or isn't 60 grit coarse enough?

1-0 out of 5 stars don't buy this
It works fine, but I can't locate any other grinding wheels for it. I need a coarser wheel to grind nicks out of chisels, etc. My bench grinder will do that, but it overheats the steel. The cooling as the whole point of the very pricey wet grinder. What is the use of buying an expensive new machine if you can't get the necessary accessories for it? I've only had it one year, now the price has dropped [dramatically] - perhaps they're phasing this thing out.

I would not recommend buying this. Find a machine which is supported by the dealer and the manufacturer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makita 9820-2 Blade Sharpener
I love this thing! I got mine and right away put my Dewalt planer blades to the test, I got a very sharp flat straight edge in minutes after reading through the directions once. I then took the guide off and sharpend my chisels and gouges after which I sharpened every knife I could find. The 1000 grit stone removes metal at just the right speed. After I get a good edge I turn it off and just hone the blades on the wheel while its not moving to put a finishing touch on the edge. I plan to buy the 6000 grit stone for hunting knifes and chisels. The water system takes practice and the plastic skirt around the stone that keeps water from spraying around has to be up or you get a mess. Its so easy to set up it saves a lot of time over using hand stones. I also plan to get the chisel guide to make getting a perfectly straight edge easyer to acheive

5-0 out of 5 stars Send that high speed bench grinder to the garden tool shed.
Man was I fed up with burning my good chisels & plane irons with that 3600 RPM bench grinder! Those things were designed for sharpening lawn mower blades & axes not fine woodworking tools. Although this tool is primarily designed for sharpening jointer & planer knives it also excels at sharpening chisels & plane irons with absolutely no fear of burning the edge. I set it up & sharpened an old block plane iron to a perfectly flat square bevel. After a couple of passes on a Japanese waterstone I had a razor sharp edge. I also prefer the flat as opposed to the hollow ground bevel. The edge holds up longer and stays sharper.
I haven't yet used the Makita to sharpen my jointer blades but I'm confident it will do a good job. I am saving my money for the coarse stone for those nasty nicks. If you enjoy a well tuned sharp tool as much as I do you gotta get yourself one of these!

4-0 out of 5 stars As advertised
I received my Makita 9820-2 promptly and unpacked it. Assembly was minimal. Instructions for its use were sketchy in parts but it is a fairly straight forward tool. The learning curve is short and my results met my expectations. My planer and jointer blades are sharper than when I had them done professionally. I would recommend getting a courser stone if you have to do anything but hone your blades. Overall I would say that this product performed as advertised. ... Read more
