Solid Product, Huge Time Saver

Disappointed - Bad Reception
I use to have the old DeWalt DW911 radio where I had to put a coat hanger on to get better reception. I thought that their newer unit would be better reception, boy was I wrong. The antenna is bigger, but I can only move it in 3 -directions, side to side and towards the back. The handle prevents it from going foward. I guess I will have to find a new coat hanger. Don't order if you need it quickly
The "Usually ships within 1 to 2 weeks" availability is a bit misleading--I've been waiting three weeks for it, and Amazon's customer service can't give me any better information than, "If it doesn't arrive before a month has past, let us know."

Custom Home Builder/Remodeler
Having used just about every type of air hose on the market, I can say the yellow Goodyear hose is second to none. It is very durable and stands up to the wear and tear of jobsite use. The coupler ends maintain excellent wear and far outlast other less durable hoses.

Excellent hose
It's hard to get excited about an air hose, but this is an excellent hose at a very good price. Quality is noticably better than the best hoses carried by local home improvement stores, and is priced a few dollars less here at Amazon. Buy two and get free shipping.

Don't scrimp on air hoses.
The advantage to this Goodyear hose is that it is made out of industrial grade rubber instead of vinyl. What that means is that when you are using it instead of being stiff like vinyl it remains soft and flexible, so it lays flat on the floor. This is especially a problem in colder temperatures. It's great for coiling as well, it doesn't fight you.
The real frustration of using a vinyl hose is that it can stand up while moving across the floor, high enough to snag on things, or even pull something onto the floor. The hose is in a coil, then instead of simply uncoiling, the vinyl has a memory and wants to look more like hoops moving over the floor.
This hose comes in 3/8" which is the most popular size. The 1/4" hoses restrict air flow, which is especially important over a 50 foot run.
All in all highly recommended. The advantages are worth it even if it was twice the price.

Great Hose
I found a great Porter Cable air compressor on Ebay but needed an airhose. The 50' hoses at Home Depot cost at least $39.99 or higher and weren't as high quality as this hose. I'm planning to buy another one of these since my compressor has dual a output and it'll be handy to have two hoses in my garage. Great hose Goodyear! Home Depot should carry this product!!

Just as it states, a quality GoodYear hose
This was my first air hose purchase but I did a fair amount of research before selecting this one. When it arrived, I was not disappointed. Its a quality rubber hose that lays flat even though it was shipped coiled up. I didn't care for the plastic hoses that come with most kits. The diameter of the hose is a nice and big to let plenty of air travel its 50'. It comes with male screw ends and will need a set of 'quick disconnects' to make it functional with the PC air compressor and Senco nailer that I purchased. ... Read more

Awsome!!!
This Legacy L8306 3/8" x 75' Retractable Air Hose Reel is very nice, I am just a guy who likes neet work areas such as my garage and basement, I have a 50' retractable air hose reel from another manufacturer and it is not nearly as nice, I really like the way it retracts the line and reels the hose back and forth so it doesn't get tangled internally, in my garage I had my old unit hard plummed but had to add another piece of galvanized pipe to make up for the short 3' lead, if you can swing it opt for the 75 ft. and not the 50 ft. the extra 25 ft. makes a difference I no longer have to run a second line

Just what the garage enthusiast needs!
A hose reel in a garage in my opinion is a necessity. No more messy hoses lying all over the floor, getting run over, cut, etc. The Legacy L8306 is a wonderful addition to my garage!
The 75' hose is great, that 25' additional length comes in handy!

The hose on the reel I replaced with the Legacy model always wanted to bunch up when retracting into it. Thanks to the wonderful layering mechanism in the Legacy reel, it doesn't suffer from that problem. The hose retracts neatly and evenly every time!

I found the 3' lead-in hose to be adequate, as my garage is hard-plumbed and connecting it to the air line was a breeze, and the reel also comes with a handy wall mount bracket allowing me to reposition and secure it at different angles if needed.

I would recommend this reel to anyone looking for reasonably priced, convenient, air hose storage.

What was I thinking??
... I was expecting something MUCH higher in quality. I open the thing up and there is no tension whatsoever, with line just flowing out when I pull. Turns out the side tensioning plate was supposed to have two screws holding it in. So I shake the box and two dinky screws bounce around. I had to use two of my own, larger, screws to hold the plate as the holes for the original screws were stripped. Then, they give you a 'whopping' 3 or so feet of hose to attach to your compressor, like that's EVER going to be enough. So, every single person that buys this has to go out and buy another stretch of hose, with all the right fittings, to attach their compressor to this reel. If I had bought it locally, I'd just return it and get my money back. Folks, my recommendation is that you just buy a 50' or 75' hose and deal with the hassle. ... Read more

A Great Reel for the home shop
I found this product here on Amazon.com but bought it for less at HD. I mounted it on the ceiling of my 20X20 shop and it reaches everywhere I need for it to go. I bougth a 25' hose to run from the reel to my compressor. The tension was a little tight but the instructions explained how to losen it up, no problem. No seal leaks, rewinds fine. If you have a small shop and need quick and easy access to a retractable hose this is the unit to get.

Excellent Retractable Hose Reel for the Home Work Shop
For the home workshop, Dollar for Dollar I think this set up is great. I had no problem with the tension that was set for retracting the hose back into the reel. I did not use the template for the drilling of the holes. I just held the reel where I wanted to mount it on the wall marked out the hole pattern for the two bottom holes, put the two bottom bolts half way in set the reel on them and traced out the two top holes and drilled them. It took all of about 20 min. to complete the whole task. The only draw back is the hose is set up is for a 3/8 connector so I had to get a reducing coupling that took it down to 1/4 inch. No big deal coulping costed all of a $1.85.

Did not receive it in 14 days.
I didn't get the damn thing, so I don't like it.

No problems, a great little hose reel for the money
I was looking for an inexpensive hose reel for my home shop. This was the most afordable one I could find on-line. It works just great.

Didn't Meet My Expectations
I bought this reel and was disappointed. First of all, the template they provided for the mounting bolt positions did not match the actual mounting plate. Four more large holes in my wall I had it installed. Then the real complaint. The tension is very difficult to adjust. I felt like I was going to break the hose I had to pull it so hard to get it fully extended. Then, after it retracted, it coiled off of the reel, making a huge kinked mess of the hose and created a job of resetting the hose tension, etc. I returned the unit and have ordered a Rapid Reel hand crank unit. Before now I hardly use the compressor because of the harass to deal with the hose, you know, go get the hose! unwind it, undo the knots and all that stuff. Good Assortment of Accessories
This is a good place to start your air accessory collection, although I would modify it a little to make it more useful. I bought it to complement my Porter Cable 3hp compressor, which is equipped with M-style quick connects.

It has two accessories that require a male M-style coupler plugs, (the blow gun and tire chuck), but only three of this style coupler plug. If you have more than one air tool to setup, you will need additional male M-style coupler plugs (Tool Crib #727BK @$1.00). The plastic tire pressure gauge is functional, but nothing special.

The brass hose repair barbs are nice, but there are no hose clamps provided if you have to use them. I would be hesitant to put them under pressure without a band clamp holding them in place. The two female couplers and female coupler plugs will complete two 3/8" air hoses.

The blow gun is a quality, versatile unit. It comes with a rubber tip, metal tip and pin inflator for balls. The valve is easily operated and it does not leak.

With the exception of the plastic tire gauge, all the parts are high quality and useful. I could have done without the tire gauge in exchange for a few more quality parts (male coupler plugs and screw type band hose clamps). If the assortment had been a little more complete, this would rate five stars. You will also need a roll of teflon plumbers tape to seal all the threads. Now you know what else you need to finish outfitting your compressor.

Okay for Starters
I bought this kit because I live and work in a remote place where it takes an hour and a half or more to get anywhere where I can pick up little parts. For anyone living in a more convenient place, I suggest that you go round to your local hardware store or tool supplier and buy better quality parts as you need them. The pieces are okay, but they are not machined very well. For instance, the threaded components require a lot of effort to get them tight enough to stop leaks. Better machining, and good brass or bronze, would make them fit and work better. If you are just starting out, the kit is okay, but that is as far as it goes.

Should have bought something else.
Wish I bought just the stuff I needed at Home Depot. Would have saved some money. Quality was not a problem though I have no use for the tire pressure guage.

Just an average set of accessories.
This is an ok set of compressor accessories. The quality is only average. I will be replacing almost everything with better quality components. For the money, you would be better off buying individual pieces that have some weight to them. The pressure gauge is a joke and is just an example as to what the other pieces are like. Save your money and go down to your local tool supply and get quality stuff.

Great Hose to move large volumes of air
As the previous review stated, this hose is overkill for everyday applications, such as connecting air nailers, sanders and such to the source. I use this hose to move large volumes of air from my compressor to my regulator on the jobsite to minimize pressure drop and supply the maximum amount of air to the multiple tools connected to the regulator. That being said, if you are only going to attach tools directly to a compressor, buy the 3/8" which is lighter weight, easier to manuver and less costly. Given the size, the hose is slightly heavy to attach to a framing nailer and a little cumbersome to wrap up at the end of the day.

No complaints
Now this is an air hose! It's overkill for everyday applications, but the quality is great. I bought one of these five years ago, and I use it to connect the compressor (in the back of the garage) to my filter and regulator (in the front of the garage) - I didn't want to bother with running pipe for such a short distance. But aside from specialty applications where you absolutely have to minimize pressure drop, this hose is more than you'll need. If, for whatever reason, you DO need a 1/2" hose, then you'll be happy with this one. Otherwise, buy the yellow 3/8" model - that's a great hose, too. ... Read more

Good quality for a good price...

Actually this is a well made (and made in America for a change even as P/C makes more and more of their items overseas - hello [local store]?) rubber hose with decent flexability, nice brass fittings and ferrules BUT it's missing the black strain reliefs as shown in the above Amazon picture, I guess somebody at P/C read their accountant's memo. Should hold up as well as the equivalent grade Goodyear hose. Who knows, perhaps even made by them? Shipping speed from order to delivery was reasonable, less than two weeks. It's a good buy at a good price, but it's a "teaser" with the free shipping as you'll have to find something else to tip the [money amount]scale and Amazon has discontinued many of the small inexpensive things - such as Milton Kwik-Change couplers and plugs. Clever. So buy yourself a good book on constuction techniques along with it, or better yet a good book on jokes so the next time somebody uses a nailgun to sink a 16d nail into their foot on the jobsite you'll have something clever to say to lighten up the situation besides "Did you square that shoe before nailing"?

Never got it
Well I was in need a good air hose and when you order it you ussualy anticipate resonable shipment, after they got my money they told me that it was damged and it would take unitl feb.( jan 12 is today) who needs an air hose (or any tool) in a month. I guess when the advertise free shipping they forgot to mention the it would be on the back of a mule,

Porter Cable Air Hose
Nice hose. Very good stress relief covers at fittings. Outside cover holds up well in abrasive conditions (i.e. rubbing on the edge of roofs & shingles). What more can you say about a hose... it does the job. PS I do like the red color, it makes it easier to grab at the end of the day (everyone I know has yellow or blue lines)

Good but incomplete
What can you say about a hose, it is maybe a little stiff but it works. The problem, it came with no fittings. As a novice at the airgun game I expected just to buy a hose and connect it straight up to the compressor and gun which I also purchased at the same time. A Must-Have for a Well Organized Shop
Compressed air is great to have, but without convenient access, you won't use it except for major projects. This reel makes for that convenient access. I paired this reel with two 50' Goodyear 3/8 rubber hoses and mounted it to the shop wall near the overhead door. Now I have air anywhere in the shop or the driveway in seconds...and the hose goes back away in seconds. I reach for an air gun, ratchet, tire chuck, etc. far more often since I don't have to fight with the hose. The spring brake really works: the hose plays out gently as you draw it, but doesn't keep spilling off the reel after you stop.
