5-0 out of 5 stars Great Machine
This machine did a great job on my car, house siding and back deck. In the past, I have spent hours cleaning with just a garden hose. The Prowash cut cleaning to one fourth the time it usally had taken me. It was easy to assemble and the manual was very simple and straight forward in explaining the operation of the machine. I had purchased a Home Depot machine two years' ago and the inlet connection which was plastic keep breaking on me so I had given up on electric pressure washers completely until a friend recommend this unit. The inlet connection on the Prowash is metal so I felt my problems were over. It proved to be true. All in all-great machine. I recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really works
Purchased vacuum for use with the PC drywall sander. The sander works great, and in combination with the vacuum, I finished drywall with the door to the room open. It's not particularly loud, and the auto-on feature (accessory plugs into vacuum, vacuum plugs into wall) when you turn on the accessory tool is great. I used it on a chop saw as well as the drywall sander for renovation of two rooms in an occupied house. The bags hold plenty and the secondary filter (like a large lawn mower air filter) keeps everything out of the air. Didn't like the cheap-ish hose, and it could use an adapter that fits std vacuum accessories. Watch power usage: add amps of vacuum and your accessory tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great vac and dust collector
I have been using this vacuum for over a month now building custom cabinets in basements. I agree with most of the other comments regarding the nice features-especially the tool trigger outlet.

With the vac hooked up to my table saw, circular saw or router table, dust is held to a manageable level. No more choking on plywood dust! While the vac won't catch all the dust (don't expect to work in a finished area and not get dust anywhere in the room)it keeps the air a lot clearer. Also makes clean-up at the end of the day a breeze.

My only complaints are the lame single hook for the cord and the thin diameter of the vacuum hose--don't plan to pick up small scraps or longer nails/screws.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Vacuum for the money
This vacuum has picked up everything that I needed it to. Porter Cable even allows the use of bags to collect all the dust, so you don't have a mess in emptying the full vacuum. You don't need to use the bags if you have a lot of clean up. The built in pleated air filter catches all the dust, and the outside cleaning tool allows easy cleaning of the filter without opening the vacuum. The on board storage brackets for the accessories and the auto shut-off feature for water pick-up are also great. The tool power feature, is great. When used with the power outlet for tools, the vacuum only turns on when the tool is running and turns it off after 15 sec when you turn off the tool The purchase of the accessory kit will save you trouble finding attachments. The literature and manual also could be a little better. Unit has been running great for about six months in my shop almost every day. No problemsb

2-0 out of 5 stars good and bad
1. the tool-trigger feature can really save your back from back ache and head from head ache

2. I don't mind it getting dirty because it's already black and grey!

What I didn't like:

I'd rather get a Fein vacuum because the wheels seem to give better mobilty; the same can be said of those Ridgid vacuums at HD. This PC seems to be able to move forward and backward very wheel, but not sideways. That's a really important feature, especially if you're having a bad day and you don't want to wrestle with the vacuum. The Fein also has similar features to this Porter-Cable. Lastly, this thing is a little bulky.

4-0 out of 5 stars good quiet vacuum
I was looking for a new shop vac to replace my 15 y/o
Sears Shopvac and save my hearing. Having purchased and used several different house vacuums over the years, severe dust allergies required me to purchase a Nilfisk HEPA vacuum for house. After using this I realized how much fine dust < 1 micron leaves the exhaust in my Shopvac. My choices for vacuum were narrowed down to Fein and P-Cable. It is easy to find Fein Vacuums in local woodstores. Finding information on Porter Cable is very hard. I ended up purchasing PC based on reviews here. I liked features of Porter cable more as it was designed for drywall vacuuming. Fein required extra filters and brackets for fine dust. I still cannot find data on how fine filtration is on Porter's unit. It appears excellent as it comes.
I agree with other reviewer that accessory tools are essential
It can clean any car, boat, shop or garage mess. Unit is very quiet. I wish it had a place to wrap electrical cord when stored.
Hose appears narrow caliber and flimsy for quality of vacuum.
It wheels easily and doesn't seem to tip over easily at all.
The plastic casing is well made and very durable.
Overall I am very impressed. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

For years, Milwaukee's Sawzalls have been valued for their outstanding ability to cut through almost any material: wood, nail-embedded wood, steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, drywall, composition materials, hard rubber, cement, brick, plaster, and fiberglass. This 11 amp Super Sawzall has a standard blade stroke mode, plus an orbital stroke mode for more aggressive, faster cutting of thick wood. You can choose the level of orbital action, too, to fit the application--or you can switch it off for cutting in metal. Like almost all reciprocating saws, this Super Sawzall also has variable-speed control (with a speed control dial) for versatility, control, and increased efficiency over a wide range of applications. For those of you who've grown up with Sawzalls, you'll appreciate the addition of the handy Quik-Lok blade clamp, which lets you change blades quickly without having to use a hex wrench; this feature is especially convenient when you're cutting hard materials, such as steel, a situation in which blades break frequently. There's also a handy quick lever adjustment for the shoe.

We really like this tool's counterbalancing mechanism, which reduces some of the unavoidable vibration found in reciprocating saws. The difference you feel when operating this tool, compared to nonbalanced saws, is significant: the Super Sawzall is still extremely powerful, yet it has a smooth feel. As a result, of course, you can work longer with less fatigue than you can using other, unbalanced saws. Another significant feature is the clutch, which, by absorbing shock and impacts to the internal mechanics caused by sudden blade lockups (typically encountered during extreme use), minimizes time wasted tending to a damaged saw. Although this is a heavy tool, it does have an ergonomically designed rubber grip that provides a solid, comfortable hold. --Tim Block ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Sawzall Ever Made!
I had a Makita for 13 years that wasn't too bad, but it finally died of bad bearings. The repair cost was within $10 of replacement so I started shopping.

I was going to get the 10 amp Super Sawzall, but after reading toolpig's review and considering the advantages of orbital action, I bought this one. It was only $5 more. I will never be sorry!

My first project was cutting up a bunch of rebar to use spiking railroad ties down. Over 100 cuts (with a Lenox blade) and I wasn't tired and neither was the saw. I slowed it down with the speed dial to keep from burning up my blade. I never realized how handy this one feature would be until I used it. You can get precicion control over top speed without having to finesse the trigger. Just set the max and pull it wide open - no more overspeed burns!

Next I was cutting railroad ties with a 12" Lenox blade. I started out in the straight cutting mode and it was slow after the first inch. I switched to orbital action and the blade just about fell through the wood! I was making straight cuts and miters on 8" x 10" ties with no problem. I had used a chian saw in the past, but railroad ties always have a "suprise rock" right in the path of your cut. The recip blades are basically disposable, so you can save the chainsaw for less risky duty.

This saw runs smooth and quiet, no user fatigue after hours of use. The adjustable shoe is real handy, another feature new to me after the Makita. If this tool lasts as well as it runs, you'll never need another recip saw. I don't see how they could come out with a better tool, unless it would run itself on voice command while you sat back and watched! Maybe next Millenium.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Sawzall I ever purchased
Everyone knows that sawzalls can cut through almost any material: wood, nail-embedded wood, plaster, metal, (steel, cast iron, aluminum, black pipe, conduit, etc.) drywall, plaster,... you get the idea. When I used this to cut through floorboards and 2x4's it was as smooth as a hot knife through butter. Unistrut and allthread were also no match for this machine. This 11 amp Super Sawzall has a standard blade stroke mode, plus an orbital stroke mode for a faster, more agressive cut through thicker wood. You can also adjust the amount of orbital action from none to full depending on the application. This sawzall also has the new Quik-Lok blade clamp with allows you to change blades in seconds rather than minutes. There's no more searching for a hex wrench to change blades here.

I've been using sawzall's for quite a while now and I have always admired Milwaukee Sawzalls for their dependability and durability. When I finally had to replace my old one and discovered that Milwaukee had introduced a new sawzall to their line, it was a simple choice for me. The added power and easy of use make this an idea choice if your building something new, tearing something down, or fabricating something for a job. I would highly recomend this product to anyone who wanted to purchase a sawzall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Might as well buy the Milwaukee--It IS the Best!
There are a lot of reciprocating saws on the market today; unfortunately some masquerade as a 'Sawzall', but Milwaukee invented the genre decades ago and, quite frankly, nothing is even in the same league as a genuine 'Sawzall'. DeWalt, Makita, Ryobi, Hitachi, Porter Cable all make reciprocating saws; some are professional grade, some say they are and some are just consumer models. When you decide either through using lesser tools or simply want to own the very best, Milwaukee stands head and shoulders above the competition in the reciprocating saw market.

Consider some of the features found on this model Milwaukee:

11 amps of power and it feels like more. This is one big, robust saw, period.

Detachable cord. Only Milwaukee figured out the ways people use a reciprocating saw--constant, demanding ROUGH use. These saws are most typically used in demolition work. In this environment you run the saw relentlessly and go through some blades. When you want to change one, in a hurry, nothing on earth is handier than being able to simply unclick the power cord and do a blade change. Believe me, you wouldn't want to change a blade on this beast without it being unplugged.

Orbital action. When you're rough cutting lumber, nothing assists you like an orbital action. This allows the blade to more aggressively cut through the material with less binding and less discomfort to the operator.

Anti-vibration. I don't know the technical nuances of how Milwaukee cancels out the vibration, but this saw is the smoothest (from an operator's standpoint) saw I've ever used. Any recip saw can truly rattle your fillings when it binds, but fortunately this Milwaukee has anti-vibration and a clutch, that genuinely minimizes feedback to the operator.

Easy blade change chuck. This has got to be the simplest blade change known to man. Rotate the collet about 1/4 turn and you're in business. NOTHING could be easier.

Variable speed dial. What a nice touch! Instead of relying solely on trigger pressure for speed control, Milwaukee thoughtfully provides a speed dial. Set it to half and you can pull the trigger back all the way and run at half speed. Demo work doesn't usually involve feathering the trigger, so this is a godsend.

Typical Milwaukee construction. Want to find out how good Milwaukee's reputation is in the building trades? Go to a jobsite. ANY jobsite. Residential, commercial, plumbing, electrical, it doesn't matter. First, stop by and ask any professional what they think of Milwaukee. Second, look for the RED tools (Milwaukee's trademark). Every jobsite has Milwaukee. The pros respect them because they don't break.

I brought this tool home on a Sunday and had to cut up 15 pallets to downsize them for garbage disposal. If you've EVER had the fun task of cutting up pallets, you can appreciate that the wood is FULL of nails (everywhere) and it's genuinely very hard, dense wood. Has to be to support the loads that pallets carry. I chucked in a new Milwaukee blade and 30 minutes later there was over 10 pounds (yes I weighed it!!) of sawdust and a BUNCH of small boards left. Saying the Milwaukee cut the boards like a hot knife through butter, in my mind, does a disservice to the hot knife! I ran the saw until it became so hot I couldn't hold it anymore, which is being overly severe to any tool; I just wanted to see if Milwaukee's vaunted reputation was as deserved as people say. It is. The saw NEVER stopped running; I honestly believe I could have put on gloves and kept going, but did allow the saw to cool down and resumed cutting. If a nail was hit, it bucked a little and just went on through it. It's a beast, plain and simple.

It's a very specific product, but one with a ton of uses. If you've never used a recip saw before, I would caution you to always make sure your item being cut is safely secured; a recip saw of this size has enough strength to easily move anything that is loosely held. Always be sure of what's under or behind the blade; if it's a concrete driveway or asphalt, you can damage the tool, but REALLY damage the driveway! Wear boots and safety goggles, this thing takes NO prisoners. And for heaven's sake, if you're demo'ing a wall, make absolutely certain that there are no live electrical wires present.

This saw isn't for everyone; it's pricey for single, consumer use. But, if you want the very best made reciprocating saw made, look no further than the Milwaukee Super Sawzall. It's the class leader by a BIG margin.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best reciprocating saw period.
My wife bought me one of these as a birthday present this year. Can you believe that? It doesn't get much better in my book. The thing works great! I've cut wood, angle iron, rebar, nail embeded wood, flashing nailed to wood and all of it was a breeze to cut through. About the only thing I haven't tried - concrete... I'll have to see if I can find the right blade!

In the past I've used Dewalt, Makita and PC reciprocating saws extensively and most others on the market and none of them have performed like this. I think the best part of this saw is the lack of vibration while cutting, it far outperfroms the others. That said, there are also easy blade changes (watch out they're hot if you've just been using them) the detachable cord (love those things, got a couple of other Milwaukee tools with that and it couldn't be better), adjustable shoe, orbital action, and speed control dial. I can't think of anything else they should put on the saw except for maybe someplace to rest a 12 ounce can of something cold. I recommend this without reservation over every other saw on the market today.

5-0 out of 5 stars A hot knife through butter is SLOW!
WOW!

I have used other reciprocating saws in the past but none has impressed me as much as the Super Sawzall.

I first used it to demolish a kitchen that I am remodeling. Wood, nails, formica and drain pipes never slowed the blade on the this Sawzall. I used a metal cutting blade for the drain pipes but everything else was cut with the blade that was recommended for nail embedded wood. Since then I have used the Sawzall for several other small projects around the house and it has performed flawlessly.

I did purchase the Milwaukee 11-piece blade set but haven't opened it as the two included blades are still sharp and still effortlessly slice through everything that gets in front of them.

Maybe this saw was overkill for my small home improvement projects but the ease of cutting and lack of kickback and vibration are worth the extra money. ... Read more

I used this product to stain a buddy's fence and deck, finished in 4 hours what would have taken days to do with a brush or roller. Light, portable, versatile, and powerful, DeWalt's new little vac is a great invention. We love that it's powered by a 12- to 18-volt battery, allowing for use when the power's off or you're too far from an outlet, and that you can also plug it in for continuous use. If you're a DeWalt fan, it's likely you already have the 12- to 18-volt batteries and the charger, so the fact that this is sold without those won't affect you. But that's a change we'd like to see DeWalt make. Other than that, it couldn't be better. The five-foot hose is flexible, and the cleaning tools fit on board. The suction's impressive, whether on AC or DC power. Unlike other wet-dry vacs, you don't have to change out the filter innards when switching from wet to dry, and we just love that. Just rinse it off to clean it. Its high-efficiency filter is listed at trapping 99.7 percent of dust, and in our book, less dust in the air is a good thing. When you're wet-vacuuming, just empty the tank through the drain port. It's light as a feather, super-portable, and plenty powerful.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Vac
I found this vac very effective. You can plug it in or run it off batteries. The BATTERY AND CHARGER ARE NOT INCLUDED. If you have other DeWalt power tools no problem, if not you can buy their drill for $199 with 2 batteries and a charger, then they give you a cordless screwdriver worth $100 so you get the drill an screwdriver for free and then some. I believe this free screwdriver offer expires around Christmas 2003. I found the unit light in weight and easy to move around. The only thing might have been a longer hose.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good first try
I like this vacuum. It does what it says it does, and does it well. But. Like all my experience with Dewalt products, they are innovative and well built, but only 90% there as cutting a few corners makes it not as good as it could easily have been. The hose is great - flexible, extendable and light. But the two nozzles don't fit on it very well, and with a bit of pressure applied sideways (easy to do when cleaning up dust) they fall off. Annoying. Just poor quality control I guess. The motor is fine on battery (I use 14.4V) but on mains (when its sucks a bit harder) it screams - ear hurtingly loud when the nozzle sucks something across the tube and no air can get in. And why no built-in charger or extension tube? So four stars because it works well, its innovative - a good idea (well done Dewalt) and there's nothing else like it. But when there is, Dewalt better make some improvements or they'll lose the market.

4-0 out of 5 stars DeWalt DC500 Cordless/Corded Vac
I bought the DC500 vacuum a few months ago to keep in my truck. Before that, I always had a little 120v 2-gallon wet/dry shop-vac in my truck for small cleanup jobs on service calls. I was keen on the idea of having a decent small cordless wet/dry vac that can run off my Dewalt 18v batteries. Mainly because it seems that when working on smaller jobs, I always end up making little messes that are scattered all around a finished building wherever I have been drilling or cutting, sometimes in remote areas where there is no electrical outlet to be had. This little vac makes it much easier to clean up as I go instead of leaving it until the work is finished and then going back with a dustpan and brush or extension cord and my old 2-gallon shop-vac.
The suction is quite good and the DC500 also has a blower function for getting fine dust out of tight spots and crevices. It uses a single pleated filter for both wet and dry use. Dewalt says the 1-1/4-inch hose is five-feet in length, but the hose actually stretches to almost seven-feet.
I used it to clear a clogged laundry sink and it does pick up water quickly, but of course, since it is only a 2-gallon tank, it fills up fast. A fresh, fully charged 18V XR-Plus battery will last for around ten to fifteen minutes of continuous use. Since I usually only use it for a couple of minutes at a time, I get can get by for quite a while with just one battery but, if needed for extended use I can always go the traditional route an plug it into a 120v outlet with an extension cord. The DC500 doesn't come with a brush attachment, which I use often, so I bought a Shop-Vac 1-1/4 inch right angle brush for about four dollars and just leave it on the hose. That way I can carry all three attachments with the vac for any type of cleanup that comes along.
This little vac gets banged around pretty good in the back of my truck and other than the attachments sometimes falling out of their holders, it seems to be very rugged and takes the rough handling in stride. Overall, I have been quite pleased with this little vac and would recommend the DC500 as an accessory to anyone who already owns other Dewalt cordless tools and battery packs.

3-0 out of 5 stars No Battery or Charger
Yes, it's a handy, quality built little unit. Yes it is fairly inexpensive. But....

Yes, it is misleading that they don't give you a battery or charger with a cordless vacuum. Not only that, they don't tell you that it isn't supplied.

Got what I paid for ? Maybe, but I feel misled and maybe even tricked.

JHL

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Vacuum for small projects
I've owned this for about 2 months now and actually have used it a lot more than I thought that I would. For its size, it has good vacuum power. In fact the power is the same whether you are on the cord or the battery. Some have complained that you only get :10 minutes of use. Well, that's a lot of use. You are not supposed to vacuum the house. Typically I have it on for about 30 seconds to a minute. I think that I am getting more than 10 minutes of use by the way. It's great for cleaning up small messes and I think that it has amazing suck power.

Things that I would like to see improved:

1. Add a battery charger
2. The cord should be about 3 feet longer
3. The price is a little steep, but no one else is making this thing and they have to pay for all those NASCAR's.

All in all it's a great little tool especially if you are a handy man and want to leave your clients house clean. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is what you need in your tool box (toy box)
Well, first off, let me tell you that I have been working in metal for over 8 years, mainly for my mothers buessness (I am 13, and I have been welding Mig since I was 3) I also have loved tools my hole life. Well, this is the best and probably only sawzall you well ever need. I live in albuquerque and I have been having to cut down dead pinion and Pine trees, some even eight inches in diameter, weiging maby 150 lbs. and this saw, with the proper blade, does not even break a sweet. My old craftsman saw could not even compair. Right at first when you start it up, it sounds like a tiger prouncing on its pray. When cutting wood, you bearly hear a difference in sound from the motor. It has a strong breze of air from the motor, so I know it is cooling down very well. Putting the blade in is super fast , even a monkey could figure it out. Putting the blade in only takes about 3 seconds. Only one let down, it has no trigger lock. But that is a spit in the ocean compaired to all of the other features.
Deffenitly buy this saw, even if you have another one.
Hope this helped

5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile
I do not use power tools in my line of work. However, I do have an appreciation for good quality equipment. I also believe that having the right tool can make even a home improvement project much more enjoyable. I bought this tool to cut some metal pipes and also some PVC pipes. Sure, I could have done the job with a hack saw. But, using a hand tool would have meant lots of patience and hassle. What would have taken a lot of time, sweat, hassle, and aggravation only took a few minutes with the Sawzall. The unit operated silently and it did not have as much vibration as I had expected for a unit with no counterbalance.

A reciprocating saw is a very versatile tool even if you do not intend to do any kind of demolition. In addition to cutting pipes, you can also cut landscape timber and prune trees. Basically, you can use the Sawzall for just about anything that you would normally use a hand saw.

The Sawzall came with two blades. One for metal and one for wood. It also came with a wrench to adjust the shoe. All of that came in a red kit box. The high quality kit box itself is made of sturdy, blown red plastic. The power cord is thicker than what I saw in competing brands at the same price range. The red Milwaukee kit box also seems sturdier, and there is a place inside that is specifically designed to hold extra blades. Most importantly, the saw itself looks and feels the way a heavy duty tool should. This kit defines high quality for a reasonable price.

There were plenty of DeWalts, Hitachis, and Makitas at Lowe's. I chose the Milwaukee because I wanted to try out their brand. I suspect that any brand would have sufficed for my modest needs. This Sawzall might be a bit of an overkill for my intended use. However, I believe you will not regret buying more quality than you need.

It is a hassle to have to drag out the orange extension cord. I chose a corded model because I wanted to have enough run time and power in order to be able to complete any project that might come my way. I was also hesitant to buy a cordless kit which would require a lot more investments in batteries in the future. If your intended use is strictly light duty, then perhaps a cordless model might be a more convenient choice.

For its quality, reputation, design, package, and value, this Sawzall gets a five star rating from me. At a price of 119.99, this saw would be tough to beat. The closest competitor, in terms of power ratings, features, and price would be the Hitachi 13V. However, based on what I have seen of Hitachi's cases, I chose the Milwaukee. I place a lot of value on the design and quality of the case, as well as aesthetics.

5-0 out of 5 stars It cuts through schools.
In the immortal words of Johnny Dangerouslly. I am restoring an 1840 colonial house, which requires as much demolition as it does construction. I have yet to come across something this thing cant cut. PERIOD. 4" cast iron pipe..... Butter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oldtimers like mine claim fewer amps
and lack speedlock blade clamps, but the older Sawzall design (from which this one is derived) has been proven through decades of hard professional use and design evolution. For its useful combination of compactness, power, versatility, and durability this tool hasn't been equalled by any other make. The only thing I would miss if I had to use this newer version is the oldfangled offset blade adapter for sawing flush along walls; the adapter won't fit the newfangled quick clamp.

5-0 out of 5 stars All hail the Sawzall! We love it!
Knowing we were going to move on to some serious projects this fall, we did some asking around among professional craftsmen that they owe. Turns out the best craftsmen in the trade love their Milwaukee 6509-22 10 Amp Sawzall Reciprocating Saws...

That was enough to convince us and we picked one up for ourselves. So far we've found it great when tearing up our bathroom and trimming thick branches away from our roof.We also felt our purchase was validated when our electrician's weapon of choice was a Sawzall for installing conduit and a ceiling fan in our first floor bathroom. We look forward to using it to get started on the do-it-yourself projects upstairs this fall.

What have we like so much about it? Well here are our reactions:

It has a neat "quik-loc" blade release mechanism..its installs without any tedious key mechanism, but is very secure.
It's variable speed trigger works very well for a variety of situations.
The only limitation we found is that the saw only comes with two blades...metal and wood. For owners of old homes, we're recommend getting special plaster blades. 10 amps is great power, even for the heavier duty work of cutting plaster & lathe.
So if you're looking for a sturdy multi-purpose cutting tool you couldn't go wrong with this one. ... Read more

This is the original Black and Decker Buffmaster. I bought mine in 1992 and it still works great.

5-0 out of 5 stars foam & wool pads
To the person who has problems with , and refered to tie pads.
Any major paint wholesaler can sell you a kit that will replace
the pad with a velcro based plate to which you can place a foam
or wood pad with a touch and all work great.

5-0 out of 5 stars DW849 works for me !
I bought this polisher to compound and wax a boat and I was extremely pleased with the results. The variable speed dial with a maximum RPM of 3000 was definitely the ticket on the parts of the boat that were suffering from severe oxidation.

I found myself running at about 1800-2000 RPM's over most of the boat but having the extra power when needed was definitely a time saver.

The only drawback I could mention is that this tool is not friendly about accepting generic polishing and cutting pads produced by "other" manufacturers. The Dewalt mounting bolt for the flex backplate leaves few options other than to use DeWalt pads unless you want to use the drawstring type, and I have been unable to find any drawstring pads worth purchasing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad gearing, and more.
I have had my polisher less than one year.I have had the spindle replaced twice do to abnormal gear sounds, and viberations. And just today the electronic module well R.I.P. I will say this at first i loved it and now i hate it.By Andy.K A long tine detailer.

5-0 out of 5 stars DeWalt Polisher
This is the best polisher/buffer i have ever used. I own a detailing company and this is the only high speed buffer we use. Very well built. We have one that is over 4 years old, and still works like it is brand new. The variable speeds make this buffer great for beginning polishers and expert detailers. A must buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fine machinary.
Humming along under heavy use for a couple years now. Smooth, quiet, powerful, and a heck of a deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars UNBELIEVABLY Smooth!
I received this buffer as a gift. I cannot express to anyone who hasn't seen this machine running the smoothness of this unit. It is so unbelievably quiet and vibration-free. The quality sticks out all over it. The shafts are heavy and smooth. The unit is heavy-duty, well-finished, and powerful.

This is typical Baldor quality, and if you've ever had any experience with Baldor motors or grinders, that says all you need to know. These units are US-built (Fort Smith, Arkansas). That's real important down the road (in case you ever need service or parts). But... the way this machine runs... I don't anticipate needing either service or parts!

The 1800 rpm is nice. The edge of an 8" buffing wheel travelling at 1800 rpm is really zipping by. I'd be uncomfortable with the 3400 rpm model (because I'd be afraid it'd heat the buffing compound too much). Once you see this machine running, you'll know what I mean.

This is a machine you could use day-in, day-out, and still get a lifetime's worth of use from it. Unbelievably fine quality! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Keep the cat away from this vac
This Wet/Dry Vac is the best shop vac I have ever owned. Make sure you are waching what your picking up with it. Everything goes in but does not come out. 5.0 horse power will pull the paint off the neighbors house. Great unit, get one you will love it.

3-0 out of 5 stars No blower
The Shopvac works great, but does not convert to a blower.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and it definitely gets the job done.
First, let me point out that I'm not a contractor. I'm a homeowner with a big, dirty garage and the owner of 2 frequently dirty cars. I needed something that could handle seriously dirty floors, walls, spills, car floors and anything else I could throw at it outside of the house. And, I needed to be able to do it fast and easily.

In short, this machine fit the bill perfectly. I don't have any complaints about it. It came w/ a huge vacuum bag, hose, accessories and it was easy to assemble. It has amazing sucking power and is very easy to move around. It's probably more machine than I need for my purposes, but I'm not complaining at all.

To sum up: It's an extremely nice machine for a very nice price. I seriously doubt you'd be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Wet/Dry Vacuum, especially Wet!
I have been infinitely pleased with this unit. It is well made, surprisingly quiet, extremely powerful, and a great value for the price. Our basement just flooded (too much rain & snow). This unit can pick up about 10+ gallons of water in about 30+ seconds ... from standing water only about 1/4" to 1/2" deep. Although having your basement flood is not fun, having this wet/dry vac almost made the experience tolerable. Almost.

Regarding the dry stuff ... sucking up saw dust in the shop is a trivial job for this baby. I always feel good about having purchased a well-engineered tool. And this vac definitely makes me smile.

Pro's: Well Made, Powerful, Quiet, Good Value, Good Hoses

Con's: The utility bucket doesn't fit the accessories

5-0 out of 5 stars Shop Vac reliability and Power... A+++
ShopVac wrote the book on wet/dry vacuums. This little beauty is no exception. I received one as a gift... I liked it so much I purchased another.... I'll keep this one at camp. The power and unusually quiet motor make an effective tool for cleaning up a wet or dry mess. I recommend it! ... Read more

Product Description

With the Porter-Cable 7336SP polisher, fears of polishing are a thing of the past. Unlike circular buffers and lesser-quality random-orbital polishers, the 7336SP is easy to use and safe on your paint- even for the amateur. This is a dual-action polisher: it oscillates in a random, orbital fashion, preventing excessive heat buildup. This polisher will not burn your paint. The 3.7 amp motor includes a variable speed mechanism which allows you to control the speed between 2,500 OPM and 6,000 OPM. An important component of this tool, which separates Porter-Cable from most of its competition, is the removable counterweight. The counterweight is located in the rotating shaft and maintains balance while you polish. Unlike the Porter-Cable 7424 polisher, the 7336SP comes with a specially-balanced counterweight which is required as you switch to denser/larger non-OEM pads. The flexibility of the 7336SP allows for a variety of pads up to 6 ½ inches. It comes with a white polishing pad that works well at minor oxidation, swirls and light scratches. While excellent at polishing, this pad is also soft enough to be used for finishing and glazing. This tool is so easy and safe you will regret not having added it to your detailing supply box sooner. Finally, a polisher you don¿t have to fear! Please note: This unit does not include a hook and loop backing plate. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Park-Zone is an innovative precision-parking device for the home that's easy to use and even easier to install. After a simple one-time setup, the Park-Zone uses its ultrasonic sensing mechanism to measure the distance from your car to the garage wall as you park. When you pull into the garage, you see the green light illuminate, then midway it changes to yellow, and when the light turns red you're right where you want to be. In our book, this beats a tennis ball hanging on a string because it's a lot easier to set up, it's much more precise, and, unlike the tennis ball, it looks good in a garage. Anyone who parks in a small or crowded garage will appreciate the accuracy this gadget offers. The Park-Zone operates on AC power or on batteries that last an entire year. 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Useful Device For Safe Garage Parking
I ordered this item, it was delivered very promptly by Amazom.com. It was easy to install, but took longer than 90 seconds, as indicated by the manufacturer. Park-Zone can be installed in any garage, and simply guides you to the exact distance from the wall that you determine. It operates on 4-AA batteries (which are said to power the unit for a year) or the AC adapter included. As you drive into the garage, a green, amber, and red light guides you to the right spot. I'll be ordering 2 more for our other cars !!

5-0 out of 5 stars It Does Exactly What It's Supposed to Do...

I was skeptical when I first purchased this item because I didn't have any confidence in it's ability to accurately gauge the distance of a bumper to the bumpee (a.k.a. the wall). But, after installing it my confidence was immediately buoyed by the unerring accuracy with which it issues its green-yellow-red sequence.

The setup and installation took about 10 minutes. Anyone can install this thing! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the provided templates make sure your installation goes easier.

The ONLY complaint I have about this device is the number of wires it leaves exposed. Depending on the distance from an AC outlet, it can be aesthetically unpleasant. There's a wire from the signal light down to the sensor (the wire that's shown in the photo), and then another from the signal light to the AC outlet.

Overall, though, I love the device. And... it works with multiple cars and doesn't seem very sensitive to bumper height.

5 Stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars park zone car parker
the park zone is a good product but the one that i ordered said i could park my vehicle up to 0.5ft. from the wall the ones that i recieved will only let me get as close as 1.3ft. that is not close enough for me to get it in the garage. i had the old units but i had to replace the batteries about once a month on one of them so i wanted to replace it with one with the ac power outlet i had the model no pzx-9901 i have one more of those and it works great .the new units i have are pz-1500 .
i just tried anothewr way i moved the sensor up to 4ft now i can park as close as i want the sensor hits the winshild now it works perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars Parking on a dime
I purchased two units a year ago. One for each of my garage doors. Love 'em both. Have no problems. Work as advertised. Takes the risk out of guessng when to stop my car. And I could take down the stupid tennis ball I have been using for years. Another plus is my wife likes the blinking colors. Go figure. Extreme change in seasonal tempature does not adversly effect the opeation of the units. Still just keep on working.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Do it!
I am very disapointed in mine.
I was expecting it to be very accurate, but it doesn't work if you try to park closer than a foot from the wall.
I have a large vehicle, and I need to get within 6 inches of my wall. This device WILL NOT work with that close of a range.
Also I have been having to reset it alot (maybe because I am pulling up too close.)

I think I'll just keep pulling up until I hear it crunch! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost mandatory for modern vehicles!
The engine in my 2000 Ford F-150 Supercab started dying frequently, the dreaded "check engine" light came on and I did not want to take another $$$ trip to the dealers service department. So I do a little research on OBD and bought an Actron CP9135 OBDII AutoScanner at an excellent price. Plug it in, retrieve the "P1507" code, which translates to "Idle Air Control System Underspeed Error (Ford)". I check the IAC sensor and discover it's not plugged in right. I fix this connection and the problem disappears! If you have a modern (post 1996) vehicle and you do a little of you own auto work (turn a wrench now and then) you need this OBD box. Actron makes an excellent product at a very good price. (If you have an check engine light on - you need a OBD box!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Has saved me big bucks!!
I bought this because my wife's car is always running its check engine light and I never know what's wrong. Every time I brought it to her dealer it cost me as much as this tool. I wish I had this thing two years ago, I would have saved myself 200 bucks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent function and quality, price a little high
I bought this becasue my Ford constantly pops it's Check Engine light. Considering the visit to the dealer is around 3/4 of a bill each time, I figured this would equal two trips to the dealer.

It does a nice job of reading the codes and resetting. It also does a nice job of monitoring the sensors. What it will not tell you is exactly how to fix your problem in many cases. I am an ex-service manager (from the pre-techno era) and reasonably accomplished mechanic. Even I have to do research after collecting the code. Determine WHY you have a particular sensor reading. Different things can trip the same sensor.

This is a well built tool to help you in your diagnosis. It is not the automatic answer machine some people may assume it to be.

I think this tool should sell for under a bill. That detracts one star.

3-0 out of 5 stars Arrive unfunctional
This rack seems like it'd be a good idea. I bought it to free up some space inside my apartment. However, when I received the rack, I was unable to fit the pieces together.

I called the customer support people at Racor and they were very friendly. They are going to ship out a new piece for the middle which should fit.

If this works, it'll be a nice rack. Mine's not scraped up like the other reviews. However, I have yet to see if this will work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Only holds one bike, doesn't stand up straight.
1. The packaging was poor and the base was badly scratched when I received it.

2. I'm 6'2" and I have two tall bikes. The rack is too short for both of them. With the top bracket at the highest setting, the bottom bike won't fit below it. I paid a welder $30 to change the angle of the top bracket so that it goes up 45 degrees. Now there is room for the second bike. Now the rack costs $80.

3. The joints in the rack are wobbly, so my rack tilts to the right about 5 degrees. I think it's ugly. I'm going to screw the top of the rack into the wall to fix this. That kinda defeats the purpose of a "gravity" rack.

Now that I've got it fixed up, it does what it's supposed to. Kind of a pain but it works, and it's still pretty cheap at $80.

4-0 out of 5 stars It works and it's a deal
like other reviewers my box arrived a bit beat up, i was half expecting to find parts missing. unlike others i had no problem assembling it and it seems very sturdy. for the price you aren't going to find a better deal.

i've got way too many bikes in too small of an apartment. the lower half seems a bit useless (all my bikes are pretty big though). it's not tall enough to get the bottom bike off the floor so you can't store anything there. i'm thinking about removing the lower arms and just leaning a couple of bikes there. it's already getting my apartment into shape.

4-0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted!
I've been wanting a bike rack like this for years. I've tried products that seemed similar, and they just didn't work for me. This one's exactly what I was looking for.

APPEARANCE
The rack arrived with no scratches. This was a surprise, given that two of the sections that make up the vertical post were loose in the manufacturer's box, and the box was a bit battered.

The rack itself looks great in my garage.

STABILITY
When positioned against (or near) a wall, the rack sways mildly when a bike is removed or replaced. The base is big enough and the overall design is such that removing the bottom bike (gently) doesn't seem to cause the whole thing to fall over--as long as the wall is there for backup. The manufacturer recommends anchoring the rack to the wall and includes hardware for this purpose.

ASSEMBLY
The central post is delivered in three sections: The base is the curved "T" that you can see in the picture on the Amazon site. The other two sections form the vertical tube.

These main sections fit very tightly together. As far as I'm concerned, this makes the whole thing more internally stable. To assemble the central post, I relied on a many squirts from my trusty can of WD-40, some wiggling, gravity, and patience. Without all that, I would've been stuck (and the sections would've been too).

The four arms that hold the two bikes attach into slots on either side of the vertical tube. I used a small block of wood to knock the arms in and out of the slots (I don't have a mallet, and it seemed like a hammer would dent/scratch the finish). Each bike is held by resting the top tube in cradles (at the end of each arm). The cradles easily rotate as needed to adapt to the angle of the top tube. Nice touch.

It definitely took some effort to put this rack together. However, I'm pleased with the results so far. It really frees up space! Taking it apart will be an interesting challenge some day.

Is it worth the price? Well... Even with the Amazon price, it seems a bit more expensive than other garage-quality bike racks. However, over the years I've spent more in total on other racks that didn't work out for me at all. This one is just what I wanted!

1-0 out of 5 stars worst purchase ever
The pieces would not fit together, after hours of trying lube, force and then the hammer, nothing worked. One of the tubes finally split and now there is no hope of making it work. It seemed like a good idea, but I was just taken for $60.00.

Amazon.com Review

Accutire's new, deluxe digital tire gauge delivers precise tire pressure reading every time--and that's important. While manual tire gauges seem flimsy, sometimes stick, and can give inconsistent results, Accutire's digital gauge is a well-made, confidence-inspiring instrument. The Accutire also delivers impressive consistency: in our tests, we got within plus/minus 1/2 psi each time, something that's not likely to happen with a manual gauge. The Accutire's large back-lit LCD screen is easy to read, too, no matter if you're standing in pitch-black dark or in bright daylight. The gauge measures from 5 to 99 psi, in 1/2-pound increments, and automatically shuts itself off after you use it. Built with a rugged aluminum housing, a rubber nose, and tail guards, this gauge also comes with a handy steel side clip, in case you need to carry yours with you wherever you go. And when it's not in use, you can store the Accutire in its felt-lined, snap-shut case, so it won't get beat up rattling around in your glove box. Accutire's digital gauge costs more than a manual gauge, but with its lifetime lithium battery, it's going to last you a long, long time. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A must have item...
The best tire gauge I've ever used. Gas station airpumps, when they had meters, were inaccurate at best. Now they charge you for air, and you must bring your own gauge. (I bought an aircompressor, but I digress...) Plastic or metal, dial or stick gauges are not accurate either. Mine are at least 2-4lbs off from what the accutire reads. The accutire is cool looking, cool to use, and easy to use and read. My only negative is that I wish it had a longer hold period or a permanent hold with a manual zeroing of the reading. This item costs more than other gauges, but it pays for itself in the long run in more accurate readings hence, longer tire life if you check pressure regularly to maintain proper inflation.

1-0 out of 5 stars Impossible to maintain a seal on some valve stems
I had an older Accutire that did not work well on my new car. I figured it was worn out and ordered this Gauge. It doesn't work either. It is impossible to maintain a good seal between the valve and the gauge. Instead of investing in fancy backlight etc. Accutire would have done much better by using a high quality sealing mechanism and not that flimiscal plastic/rubber combination. Using a different Gauge with a solid brass/metal connector I have no trouble at all. In short: I do not recommend.

1-0 out of 5 stars Battery wore out in 2 months; extremely hard to use guage
2 months in and the battery for the back lit display is dead!! Hard to believe it only lasted that long ... I could just change the battery, but why? The guage itself is incredibly hard to get on the stem without hearing the hiss of air escaping your tires. Every now and then, I'd get a perfect lock the first time, but it's rare and hard to do.

I don't know about the accuracy ... I have a pen style guage that always show 2 pounds more pressure per tire than this digital model.

I have an Evo VIII, and tire pressures greatly influence the handling of the car, so I wanted a top quality guage. Unfortunately I got a guage that looks really nice, but is too hard to use and wore out too fast.

1-0 out of 5 stars Short Lifespan
While the gauge itself is accurate, the center plastic tip wears out after about a year of use rendering the unit inoperable. Should have used a metal tip. Sorry I spent the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars LOOKS great, works poorly: display on mantle?
This miracle of modern science works great the first 10 or 20 or 30 times.

Then you realize that readings are becoming increasingly inaccurate (and hard to obtain -- pfffffft!), and it's obvious that the $0.03 seal at the tip is failing. Where do you get a replacement? Ha, gotcha!

All show, no go at this point. ... Read more
