I think the engineer is waving his flag to hard
I have this set from Amazon and It is an great set at a fair price. I noticed the engineer rated it poorly. I could have guesed that. He probally wants to buy a USA made set for the 69.00 dollars. Truth is that the days of cheap american goods were gone in the 50's. All this stuff now comes from overseas. Why because we wouldnt pay for expensive American Goods anymore. The Amazon quality is as good as anything for the price on the market. I did a little research on drill bits before bought this set and did you know that all of inexpensive drills set now come from off shore. Craftsman, Grizzly, Ryobi, Northern, Harbor, Woodstock, all of them. Where elese can you get 115 drill bits for that price?

Absolute C**P
I am a professional contractor & electrical engineer with more than 30 years experience. Usually, I buy American made tools and accessories ONLY. Thought I'd take a chance on these. BIG MISTAKE.

Drills arrived in POOR PACKAGING. Several had fallen out of CHEAP METAL BOX. The drills were BARELY SHARPENED & OFF-CENTER.
The drills are multi-colored - obviously from overheating in cheap oil to make them "LOOK" special.

There is no independent confirmation these are cobalt alloy. In fact, I used three of them just to drill slowly into dry oak base molding. BROKE THREE DRILLS INSIDE OAK!!! WTF!!! I will never buy tools again from the Tool Crib, or from Amazon. Stick with USA made such as Norseman, Tru-Cut or Triumph Twist. Sure, you pay two to three times more, but you'll never break one unless you use it for a chisel.

This is what happens when one try to savea few $$$ and buys product made by forced CHINESE PRISON LABOR.

Not worth $60
I had my set for couple weeks now and I have already broken a bit. The material is very brital. While drilling steel the bit broken in half. I also discover that the tip surface is not exactly even/symmetrical which results in your work piece wobbling on initial contact. Once the bit digs into the work piece the wobbling stops. I compare this wobbling affect with a USA made bit and there were zero wobble with the USA bit. These bits are sharp and will go through steel like butter. Overall I am not happy with the purchase. I would return it if I hadn't broken a bit. It was a waste of $60.

Great bit set for the $$$
Mine came liberally oiled but not excessively so. Bits seem to perform well, case is not a mega-$$$ item, but overall, is pretty nice with sizes nicely legible. Very good value, IMHO....

Amazon.com often doesn't have the lowest prices on tools. But shop around for a set of cobalt bits like I did, and you'll find that this set from amazon.com is the best price around.

These bits go through aluminum like butter, and are definitely up to the job for steel. I haven't had them long enough to comment on their durability, but so far I prefer them to a set of TiN-coated bits I've got.

4 stars because some of the bits seem a bit out of true when chucked. UPDATED: Some of them really are not straight, I verified this by rolling them on a granite surface plate.

If you're doing a lot of work with metal, do yourself a favor and get a set of these. Highly recommended. ... Read more

Worth the money
These are what drill bits should be, they are straight and sharp. I was using my drill press when tired them. First on wood, they started where I wanted, no skipping, cut clean, both entry and exit, true, with out deflection, and with such ease from the smallest to the largest in softwood or hardwood. This wasn't love but it was a thrill I was totally satisfied right then but I had to try metal. The same results I don't work with Stainless or Titanium. These bits are a real pleasure. Best Self Feeding Hole Saw Ever
I only have two of the Milwaukee Contractor's bits and I love them, I will buy this set soon. I use them for cutting the many holes required to run house electrical and plumbing. They are perfect for the hard to reach out of position holes that you can't push on a auger bit to cut through. They will eat their way though the center of a tree with a 3' extension.

Since they are self feeding they will not stop untill you let off the trigger and you need a reverse on the drillmotor to back them out of deep holes. Chips will back up and plug deep holes so use the reverse and clear out the chips on deep holes. ... Read more

Yikes!
I purchased these as a gift for the home improvement junkie that I share a house with and guess who uses them constantly? ME! They are razor sharp and quite an upgrade from the cheap dull ones we had previously. Don't buy cheap tools! They are dangerous and frustrating. We also have the 14 volt Milwaukee cordless drill and I love that too. Very happy with the bits.

Do yourself a favor
These will be the last drill bits you will need to buy. They are super hard and will go through the toughest heat-treated metal. You will need to be carefull with them; even though they are hard, they will break if you were to drop them onto a concrete floor. But will a little care they should last a lifetime. ... Read more

A MUST for hobbyists, home remodellers, contractors
Firstly, not manner of the manufacturer's plastic tool cases are worth a crap. Slots don't hold the parts. But this kit, a whole different story. Whether you open the kit inverted or correctly (label up), each tool remains in its appropriate slot. Secondly, everything you could ask for in reference to your cordless is contained within this impressive kit. Whether your gun is Porter Cable, DeWalt, Makita, Hitachi... you will not find a better kit for the price. This product is well worth owning.

Great kit
Even though I do mostly electrical, buying this kit was beneficial because it includes all but one bit that I needed, which I purchased separately. Extra center self feed bits are included to replace the primary ones if you should somehow break or wear one done. Although that hasn't happened to me yet. The case is great to keep the bits organized, clean, and most importantly dry.

Bosch Does It Again
I was beginning to wish I had a second cordless drill. Having to change bits frequently is all the more work. With the Bosch Clic system, you just pop the bit in the holder, pull the head back, it clicks and holds your bit. To change, it is intuitive because as you pull the chuck forward it releases the bit as you pull the bit out, all in one motion. Just like putting the bit in, in one sweep. In goes the bit, and the chuck moves back to the click.
Bosch makes several clic change bit styles that work with the system, including self feeding spade bits.
The interesting thing is that the Ryobi bits fit it perfectly as well. I wound up stocking up at the local home center on other bits.
I was building a large outfeed table for the table saw out of red oak. Having to drill countersinks for the screws, and following with a phillips bit to set the screws, all the while clamping and unclamping the joint, made the clic change system the right tool. Saved all kinds of time, not to mention enlongating the battery life of the drill, not having to run it to change the bit fifty times.
The good thing is that the Bosch clic system works without a snag. No hang ups or binding, just smooth consistent changes. Highly recommended.

Best Bit Holder Made
The Bosch Clic-Change bit holder is the result of great design thought. It's small, bits change with a natural hand movement, and the heavy duty shaft doesn't slip. I only wish Bosch made the bit holder available without the hex-shank bits and extras. I'd love to buy several for all my drills and as gifts for friends. Clic-Change makes installing hinges a breeze.

What would I do without them?
I purchased these just in time for an entire kitchen's worth of Ikea Cabinets to arrive. I used these EVERY DAY for a month while assembling the cabinets. They are really good and sharp and the quick change feature was invaluable as I was switching them constantly while drilling holes and then attaching 25 handles. I guess it's silly to say you LOVE a drill bit set so lets just say I'm EXTREMELY fond of them instead.

While the quick, one-handed change is nice, it's still a bit long to handle with a drill that has its weight in the back.
Also, I have yet to find any accessories to complement the set-up, such as a countersink. I hope Bosch keeps putting in their R&D time to give us what we need (and want).

Best on the Market
I have used an Insty Bit for the last seven years and I wish Bosch had come out with this much sooner. The one hand operation is great and the assortment of bits has saved me from rumaging through my collection of bits for square drive and phillips screws. The drill bits come in handy as well. Excellent quality and durability
I was amazed at the rate these drill bits chew through metal... I drilled through a 1/4" of a piece of tempered steel in half a minute and through 16ga copper sheet in barely a second. The cobalt bits in the copper were incredible, I did not even have to apply much pressure to get the bit to bite.

Great bits in a sturdy case
What a great purchase! The bits are sharp and sturdy, and they cut through wood like it's butter. They come to a point at a wide angle, so they're less likely to slide away from your drilling point as you start drilling.

I've only owned them for a few weeks, so I can't attest to how long they'll stay this sharp. Also, I've yet to try drilling through metal.

The set comes with two bits for some of the popular sizes, which is great since I tend to lose or break my 1/8" bit all the time.

The case itself is quite sturdy, but a little oversized. The bits are held firmly in place, so you never open your case after a bumpy car ride to have all 13 bits fall to your feet. If you own a DeWalt drill, it fits snugly in the drill case.

These are very good bits!
I bought this set at Lowe's and so far I am very pleased with their quality.I paid about the same price but I also got a free DeWalt baseball cap in the deal!The bits have stayed sharp through many projects and this new design for the case is a vast improvement - the hinge is much stronger and I feel it will hold up well.Because this assortment includes all of the sizes you would use most often, I keep mine right in the case with my DeWalt cordless drill so I am never without them!

Not bad for the price but ...
I would agree that for the money you receive a decent set of forstner bits.
However, and I only checked the 1/2" bit in all fairness, I found that it was a quite a few thousands proud of .5"
I bought this set specifically because I needed to drill holes for some 1/2" pegs. I chucked it into the drill press and bored a few quick test holes. The bits drilled well. When I fit the pegs into the hole, well the hole was larger than the peg. Not good in fact I got mad enough to think about returning them.
After cooling down I used the vernier to verify that they did in fact measure greater than .5 I chucked in a new Craftsmen 1/2" split point drill for a comparision hole and the peg was as snug as bug in rug.. I used the vernier to confirm the Craftsman bit was dead on at .5
I can't believe that the titanium coating would make up the difference in size that I observed.

If you are intending to do really fine high class woodjoinery than you should spend the extra [$] and get the right tools. For my wood butchery projects they will work fine since in most cases the level of accuracy is within my tolerances. Lets face it how often do you need a flat bottomed hole?

I give them a 4 simply because I needed a 1/2" to be exactly a 1/2" and the drills failed to deliver.

For the price these are worth the wait
I had to wait quite a while for these to be stocked at amazon.com, just due to low supply. However, you wont find a better set at this great price out there. They work great and are much faster and smoother than those wooden box nock-offs you find on Ebay. Get 'em as soon as amazon has 'em is my suggestion.

I have been shopping around for a reasonably priced yet not cheaply made Forstner Bit set for a while till now. All the others I have seen were higher priced and not Titanium Coated.
