5-0 out of 5 stars Great Stapler
I purchased the SLS 18 stapler to secure luan underlayment in my kitchen/breakfast room. I shot over 5000 staples without any jamming, double fires, etc. In short, the stapler worked perfectly. In addition, the soft feel of the hand grip is very comfortable, although it is already showing signs of wear. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Toshiba's IK-WB01A is a disgrace!!
I am extremely disappointed with this camera. The manual is written in very poor English which I had a hard time deciphering and it doesn't explain some basic operations. I cannot imagine how Toshiba managed to get the best geeks in Japan to develop this camera but they couldn't get a professional translator to write up a manual in English. I know that most of their customer's speak English, so this doesn't make any sense.

In addition, their website has several non-functional links. The links to download manuals, documentation or obtain support are all dead. The main page is http://www.toshiba.com/taisisd/netcam/support/support_index.htm but try clicking on the "customer support" links and you go nowhere.

Last but not least, this camera doesn't seem to be able to record any video unless you purchase additional software fro about $40. This is absurd, especially for an expensive $200 camera like this. The video recording software is called NWREC01 and I had to do some research just to find out that I needed this software in order to record.

All this reflects very poorly on Toshiba and I will try to avoid all Toshiba products from now on.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good camera but somewhat misleading for motion detection
I was looking for a wireless pan/tilt security type camera that includes low light (for seeing outside at night or wherever there can be little light) and thought I had found the perfect one for the right price so I got this one.

However, I was sort of misled on the motion detection option (which I also wanted). You need to wire up an external trigger (like closing a switch) which then in turn will allow the camera to record images and email you, etc, that movement was sensed. They call this alarm notification or something. This camera does not have `built-in' motion detection (unlike the higher end Toshiba model WB11A which does) or some others that do.Since the manual for the WB01A and WB11A are combined it's easy to be misled (the WB11A has configurable built-in motion detection that the manual shows you how to configure).

Other than that, the camera is pretty easy to configure, pan/tilt/zoom works good, and the picture looks pretty decent. Not sure of the wireless range since I did not put that to the test but it was easy to configure and get on the network. The auto low light worked pretty well for seeing things in a darker setting.I haven't used other web cameras besides this one but did see a review that mentioned the Panasonic BL-C30A was better but it is also more expensive than this one.

So if you are looking for a wireless pan/tilt/zoom camera that also can see well in low light conditions but does not have built-in motion detection, this camera is well worth a look for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outdoor camera
Great camera for price. I bought the optional accessory kit model IK-WBACC1 so I could install the camera outdoors. I have the camera running on the 802.11b wireless network and was amazed at how easy it is to install. This is a great camera for home or business. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Senco air-powered tools are famous for their durability and features, and this finish stapler is no exception. The PowerPlus SLS20 is incredibly powerful yet surprisingly lightweight; combining an ergonomic design and a soft grip, it's also exceptionally easy to handle. Its magazine has the capacity to hold 168 18-gauge, 3/8- to 1-1/2-inch staples. We appreciate the adjustable depth-of-drive control that allows for precise countersinking, an especially important feature for furniture assembly. This stapler is also excellent for working on molding, trim, underlayment, soffits, and crafts. Safety is a chief concern with pneumatic staplers, and Senco pneumatic products include impressive safety features. A no-mar safety and restrictive trigger reduce the chances of accidental firings. The bottom-load magazine has a smart design, including a molded lever that keeps the magazine from accidentally opening. There's also a clear sight hole so you can check on the staple supply. Of course, only a well-maintained tool is a safe tool, and Senco designed the PowerPlus SLS20 with this in mind: this stapler never needs lubrication and has only one moving seal, resulting in virtually trouble-free operation. --Tom Kasperson ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bit of a disappointment
I own a Senco FP25XP brad nailer and have been extremely satisfied with it - so when I decided to purchase a narrow crown stapler, I chose Senco again. My two options were the SLS20 (this one) or the SKS-L. The SLS20 was less expensive and reviewers here gave it good ratings so I ordered the SLS20.

When I received it, however, I was a bit disappointed. The cushion grip is not moulded like on the FP25, but is a piece of foam rubber wrapped around the handle and glued. And because of the way it's wrapped, it's unconfortable in your hand. Probably won't take very long before it begins to come unglued and looks all ratty.

The second disappointment was that the unit will not drive one inch staples into maple - it leaves the head proud by about 1/16. I checked the pressure on my compressor and it's in spec. The unit will drive 3/4 inch staples into maple.

The third disappointment was that the unit did not come with a case, even though Amazon advertises it as shipping with a case.

The fourth disappointment was when I found the SLS20 at a much lower price at a major home improvement store.

Overall, I'd recommend buying the SKS-L, or if you can tolerate the reduced power, go with a lower priced Senco stapler.

I returned the SLS20 and ordered the SKS-L. While the SKS-L has its own problems, it does have the power that the SLS20 is lacking.

5-0 out of 5 stars wrong picture people
The picture you have in the ad is of the senco brad nailer...Please fix it so as not to confuse the customers...

5-0 out of 5 stars Smooth
I've used this stapler quite extensively around the house and it has performed flawlessly. No jams, very smooth operation. Nothing more to say, this is the cream of the crop as far as narrow crown staplers go. It's worth the extra money.

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish everything was this good
The SLS 20 is much like the SLP 20 brad nailer. Pretty powerful for its size and very smooth in operation. It doesn't have as much power as the larger SKS staple gun which uses the same staples but weighs a lot more. In its favor the SKS will consistently sink 1 1/2" staples into hardwood all day long. The SLS fits into smaller spaces though so It's somewhat a trade off . Nevertheless Other mini 1/4 inch crown staplers don't compare. They don't have the same power and they don't fire with the same super smooth action. They also seem to recoil more which is a bother. If you've ever shot 18 GA. staples you know it doesn't take much to turn them into a pretzel. Any nail or screw behind your work surface will make quick work of these little fasteners. This gun is very easy to deal with in this situation. Just flip the EZ clear lever and you're back in business. Top it off with an adjustable depth of drive and oilless operatin and you have the best small 1/4" crown stapler in the industry. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
As a 10 year aircraft maintainer in the US Air Force, I've used everything from standard Mag-lites, scuba divers' lights, and even penlights in a pinch. I can say this flashlight is brighter than any other I've used. It cuts my inspection time in half because I can see things 55 feet off the ground just like it was right in front of me. Don't be fooled to think a rechargeable battery pack isn't as strong as standard alkaline batteries. This isn't the case. I wouldn't trade this flashlight for anything!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mag Lite is good for general purpose
Having read the other reviews, I decided to add one myself:

Many police departments standard issue Mag Lite products. The 2,3..etc D sized flashlights make reliable flashlights and their weight can also make them useful as a baton in a pinch. I have several different Mag Lights (the mini's, the 2, and a 5 D monster). They always work, the beam is generally good, and for the money, they are a good value. They are NOT the best flashlight ever made... but for 20-30-40 bucks, they are a great flashlight for about 99% of what people need flashlights for...

If you REALLY need alot of quick light - i.e., you are planning to rely on this light for a tactical or self-defense situation, then I wouldn't buy a Mag Lite... ASP, Surefire (my favorite), Inova, etc., make much better flashlights for that situation. A Surefire C2 or Z2 model is about the size of a Mini-Mag but delivers about 5 times the light of the largest Mag LIte product... all without a focusable beam. The technology of SureFire is unparallelled, in my opine, but I think it is akin to comparing a Ferarri to a Ford... yeah, they're both cars, but that's about as far as the comparison should go... Also, most high-performance flashlights run for about an hour or so... Mag's will run longer. Also, you can go to any HD or hardware store and buy mags, batteries, lamps, etc.... try doing that with a SureFire... NOT. So there are comparative advantages and disadvantages to both...

Mag's products are good... but you get what you pay for and not every flashlight is suitable for every application. If you are a LE officer, military, etc., it's unlikely you will want Mag Lite as the product you're going to trust your life to.... they just are not bright enough to stun someone in a life and death situation... If you want a decent reliable flashlight for home emergency use, then Mag LIte is the best product you can possibly buy.

...I own both for different reasons... I just wish I owned a Ford and a Ferarri too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Becoming a dinosaur
There is a lot going on within the technology of flashlights recently. LED, Lithium batteries, focus bezels, etc. The Mag Instrument RX1019 Heavy-Duty Rechargeable Flashlight System is an OK rechargeable flashlight. But the technology today (ie from SureFire and others) has Mag Lights falling behind a bit technologically. For example, weight and size. IF you are in law enforcement and need and depend on escalating use of force (ie loud assured voice, large heavy flashlight, side arm, shot gun), MOST other situations only criteria for a good flashlight is how much light it puts out and the quality (no dead spots, etc) of that light. AND in the smallest, lightest package. This is where (IN GENERAL) MagLite has dropped off.
I must say (before I get a bunch of negative votes) that I have owned 20 or 30 Mags over my working career. And the product is very durable and they are proven reliable. But for the money, I've found that Surefire offers a more powerful beam of light. Surefire is lighter too.
I've had to depend on my MagLight many times but I've switched to SureFire. It's the 21st Century.

5-0 out of 5 stars Light up your life!
This light is awesome! With 40,000 candlewatt power it will light up your entire room in your house when the power goes out-which we here in Raleigh have experienced a lot in the past few years. With 1000 recharges possible it pays for itself over and over. Can't go wrong with this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.......but..........
The flashlight is brilliant, literally. Once it's charged for the first time it's unreal. And for occasional or rare usage it is extremely practical. But, if you use it for several hours a day, you may find that it takes too long to get a full charge back into the battery. In fact, the only chance you can get it to fully charge is over the weekend. Two batteries? How can you charge the spare battery pack when it has to be in the flashlight (which has to be in the charger) to recharge? Mag Instruments are apparently working on the problem, but to this date they do not have a rapid charger, or a charging cradle for a battery pack only. You could of course buy 2 flashlights and use them on alternate days. Rather expensive though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great on retaining wall block
This is a great saw for the serious do-it-yourselfer. I like its portability and fast cutting time. I dislike the amount of dust it puts out compared to a wet saw. At 65 pounds you can throw it in the trunk and take it anywhere. We have been using it on cast concrete retaining wall block. The original idea was to use it on the decorative caps, which had a 3" by 12" cross-section. However, it will get about 90% of the way through a block with a 6" by 12" cross-section if you want to split the big block. Cutting time through the 6" by 12" block was around a minute, answering my concern about the motor, which looked small. The surface finish is very smooth, to get rough faced cuts you will still need to split using a hammer and chisel or block splitter. Don't try to rig your own water system to the saw, the motor has an external filter and does not appear to be sealed. Dust may be a long term issue. You certainly want face protection, a dust mask, and hearing protection.

Amazon.com Review

Constructed of durable, rip-proof fabric, the new 56-pocket organizer from Bucket Boss improves on what was already a great idea. Unlike the toolboxes of old, the Bucket Boss organizer stores tools where they're visible and easy to access. And, with 38 exterior pockets and 18 more on the inside, the Bucket Boss really does have a place for just about everything. We've loaded ours down with wrenches, handsaws, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, pencils, utility knives, pliers, and drill bit sets. There's even a padded pocket for your cordless drill. We quickly discovered, however, that depending on how you load it, the Bucket Boss can get a little top-heavy. After ours tipped over in the back of our truck, we reloaded it with our hammerheads down, and it hasn't tipped since. We recommend the Bucket Boss 56 for remodelers, carpenters, electricians, repair people, or any other professional who brings a lot of hand tools to the job; it also makes the perfect tool kit for do-it-yourselfers moving through the house from room to room and project to project. --Jon Groebner ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I purchased this item for my husband and he couldn't have been more pleased. The deep pockets held all his tools securely with room to spare. He said it is the best tool organizer he ever had. Then he tossed his toolbox. :) I have since bought several of these for different male birthdays, all with the same results. Excellent!! Note: Bucket Boss is extremely sturdy. The canvas and seams are very well put together. You can load this up with no worries.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's not a top number in the Amazon Sales rank for nothing
At first I bought this as a novelty. Not realizing that it was to change the way I organize my workspace. Normally I rely on peg boards in my shop to house the usual screw drivers, hammer, and frequently used tools. The problem with that is that they don't usually get put away, unless I do a complete shop clean up. Which is why I have to go looking for them. My number one pet peeve is looking for stuff. Not only is is wasted time, but it interrupts my work flow. Now I use the Bucket Boss 56 Organizer to house all of my most frequently used tools, and I bring my tools to the work. I also went to Sears and bought an INEXPENSIVE red metal Utility Cart that has four substantial wheels in a shopping cart configuration (two fixed, two universal) and they all lock, with a tray shelf at the bottom, and one at the top. I put the Bucket Boss in the bottom tray, which only takes up part of the lower tray space. In it, is everything imaginable, and after using it for awhile, I know right where it is. The best way to get the work flow going, is to be able to grab what you need, when you need it, and it is there every time, and have a place to rest it, or immediately put it away. With this combination, I roll the tools over to the work area, and I have an upper shelf to set things on during the project. It wouldn't be possible without the bucket boss.
With mechanics tools, we use a multi-drawer tool box. Since everything is hidden, it takes some time to learn exactly where everything is. With the Bucket Boss, you have a reminder, everytime you glance at it.
My only complaint is that their are so many pockets I can't justify buying another one. :-) That's how much I like this thing.
Knowing that I can simply lift the bucket boss out of the bottom tray using the handle that comes with the bucket, and take it with me no matter where I go, gives me the mobility, and organizational system I use in the shop and on the go! One system, one set of tools, for all locations. The cart is so light, I wouldn't hesitate to take it along as well.
By the way the Bucket Boss does not come with the bucket, but considering the cost of a 5 gallon white plastic bucket at [the store], that is not a major item. I know it would probably cost more to ship the bucket than it would to buy one locally. So it makes sense.
For on the job, it makes a very good impression. It looks organized. Combine this with one of their parts organizers, and you will not only, not have to go looking for your tools, that washer, locknut, screw, bolt, or anything else you want, will be at your fingertips as well. No having to run back out to the truck everytime I need a bolt, or nut, or screw, etc.
I can tell you it is made out of great material that will last for a long long time, or that the pockets are multi-sized and shaped to fit near anything you may use, but what I really want to tell you is that this thing is engineered. Engineered to simplicity. That makes it one of the most frequently used pieces of equipment. It is great because it works. Not just because it is very inexpensive, for all of the utility, you will get out of it, but because it works, and works well. Get into the Boss and watch your productivity zoom!

5-0 out of 5 stars who gets custody if we divorce???
I love this tool organizer!!! I bought it for my husband for Christmas because I thought it looked cool. He didn't seem interested in it, so I took it and began using it for my own tools (we each keep our own set), and then he fell in love with it too! I was continually having to go find my tools because he had swiped them, bucket and all. So I went to Home Depot and bought him a bucket organizer they had in stock, different brand. A week later he's whining about how he likes mine better, so since I bought it for him in the first place, I switched with him and now he has the good one. I think I need to order a second one because he's right -- the other brand is not as good as this one. Damn good thing I love him so much, but if we split, I want custody!! This is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surreal!
It is simply mind boggling how useful and efficient this item turned out to be. It holds all but the longest handtools (2 foot plus levels, etc)with easy access. Of course, nothing is perfect, so here are my suggestions for future improvements: deeper bellows on a couple of the lower tier pockets and a shallow series of slots for mini screwdrivers (smaller screws seem to be the latest trend). This could be done by replacing the elastic strap at the upper edge with a looped belt of the same basic material as the Bucket Boss

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet product...
Hey, this IS a great product just like most ALL of the other reviewers have indicated and regarding the idiot "A home improvement enthusiast from Eugene, Oregon" and her "Where's the bucket?" remarks... Come on are you a total F---ing moron or what!? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Needs at least 1 or 2 shelves included
This is a solid body storage building exactly as advertised. My goal was to store a mower, trimmer, blower, gas and miscellaneous items. I had to build a shelf (not included) notch it to fit and install it before putting roof in place. It works great for gas and miscellaneous items leaving room for taller items but they must be tilted some. If you have a mower with retractable handles (which I do not) it will fit in this building. (So mower is still out) Other than that it has cleared up the mess in the back and locks the flammables up too.

Be careful to read instructions because it would be very difficult to take pieces apart after clicked into place.

If you are planning to store a mower I would recomend a larger unit just for ease of use. This one is great for a lot of gardening supplies but I think they should provide at least 2 or more shelves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good inside design for maximum usage
You can put up to 6 shelves inside to fully use all the cubic space available. But you may just need 4 and leave the lower two open for big size items to be stored. Rubbermaid has a similar size shed but it can only accept three shelves and waste a lot of spaces. The Rubbermaid shed uses much fewer pieces to assembly than this one. The assmbly is pretty easy if you follow the manu but it does take some time (1-2 hours). After I finished the assembly there were some rain and the inside was try except a couple of water drops. The only concern is its sturdiness since it's assembled with 28 pieces and so far so good. I don't expect it can stand a ternado or hurricane. One thing I wan to alert you: when you buy the shelves do measure the inside and ignore the manu since if you buy the side according it yuo will find the shelves will shift too much to the left or right. You want them more stable, right?

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product/Easy to Use
I have been using the Kreg Pocket Jig for about eight years and have been totally satisfied. For cabinet construction, I generally use pocket screws in conjunction with biscuits. It may take a little longer, but the end result is perfect alignment and no clamping reqired.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kreg Pocket Hole Jigs Number 1 across the board
I bought the Kreg Pocket Hole Pro Pack, which has all of the components on this set, plus the workpiece holder. You could make your own using a toggle clamp. What I wanted to share with you is that the Kreg Pocket Hole offerings made the number one spot across the board in the November 2003 issue of Better Homes and Gardens "Wood" magazine. Everything from the mini on through to the automated production machine were given the top ratings. It was a clean sweep for Kreg. They tested a lot of machines too. Some of the advantages are the flush edge joining to the workpiece prevented tearout. The case hardened steel guides didn't show wear or metal shavings. Easy to make or buy the premade plug holes out of wood. (Some were an odd shape, and wouldn't accept plugs very well)
Even though the body is made out of plastic, which is substantial and well done, the steel guides are the only thing the drill bit touches.
Pocket hole joinery is a nice addition to your arsenal. You will find yourself incorporating it more and more into your projects, and the Kreg system is the best. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick, easy pocket holes
I just used this today for the first time to build a frame for a pirates chest for my 5 year olds' birthday party. Quick easy joints that looked great. Loved it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Tool for the Shop
I build cabinetry and prior to getting my Kreg I used a mix of T&G, dowels, and biscuits to join boards and frames together. For your basic furniture construction this device is simply amazing. Attach the jig to one face to be joined, run the special drill bit (included) down one or both fixed metal ferules, unclamp and use the Kreg screws to attach the two parts. I can now build furniture, test for fit in the shop, take it apart, apply finish and rebuild on site.

On the downside it leaves a rather gaping hole on one side of the joint so it is not the preferred method for joining boards that are visible on both sides. They sell wooden plugs (in different wood species), but I am not impressed with them as they take a lot of fiddling to get them in and flush. I also have not used it for joining boards into panels (table tops or cabinet sides) because I prefer an old school biscuit joint with good clamping technique for a flush surface.

However like I said earlier. This is a heck of a tool. It makes for speedy face frame joints and handles my ¾ inch plywood joints very easily. Plus I can literally build the cabinet piece by piece and take it apart to finish or move it. For the price, the rocket pockethole kit is a very good value. If you build cabinets or furniture, than this is a nice tool to have it your shop. (BTW: order extra screws - personally I find I use the 1 ¼ coarse thread screws on just about everything).

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful alternative to biscuits
I bought one of these little jigs to see if pocket screw construction really was as great as the advertisements say- and I'm here to tell you it's even better. I'd used biscuits in the past to build cabinets, but pocket screws can be set up faster and require no clamping when gluing. The only downside is that pocket screws, unlike biscuits, aren't totally hidden from view- but the holes can be hidden in a lot of built in construction or filled with oak or maple plugs available from Kreg.

This little Kreg jig has a plastic body, but it's a very high density synthetic and should last a long time. The kit has everything you need to get started, including screws, but you'll probably want to get a bag of another 1000 if you plan on doing more than a few boxes.

If you're planning on gearing up for even limited production, or building an entire kitchen, consider getting the all-metal Kreg with built in clamp. For about twice the cost (once you buy the accesories already included with this jig) you'll have a unit than can be bench mounted and sets up in a couple of seconds. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars multi use ladder
I was using this import ladder on a platform when the lock on one side failed. I am only 170lbs. My paint and me went everywhere. Do yourself a favor and get the u.s. made ladder. I did and now I am happy - the US made ladder is a great product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy with ladder
This seems like a strong, versatile ladder. I moved into a new place and needed a tall ladder for outdoors and a short ladder for indoor use. This ladder can do both. The instruction sheet says ANSI type 2 duty rating, 225 LB Working Load and EN-131 Maximum Permissable Load 330 LBS. I have seen more expensive ladders in the store rated for less weight, and they were not adjustable. As others have said, the instructions are not great, but using the ladder is much easier than the instructions make it out to be. Just follow your common sense. The moving parts are quite self-explanatory.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cosco ladder great for condo owners
I own a condo with nine foot ceilings so I needed a ladder to safely reach that high to replace lightbulbs. My condo has very limited storage space so I needed a ladder that would fit in a closet. The Cosco fills both these needs well. It looks complicated to set up at first, but the instructions and included video make it real easy. The ladder is rather heavy, but that proves to be a benefit since it feels very safe and solid when climbing on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ladder
This ladder is awesome! It might take a minute to figure out how to set it up in all its functions, but it's well worth the time. This ladder is very sturdy, heavy enough to keep from wobbling, but light enough that I can carry it around (I'm not the strongest girl). I live in an apartment with high ceilings, and it's perfect for getting to a ceiling fan or above the cabinets. I would recommend it without hesitation. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mullet not required!
Mullet Buster? Interesting name - great tool belt. I bought this primarily because of the padded suspenders. I don't like standard tool belts which fall down after a while unless you tighten them up well, which doesn't feel comfortable to me. The suspenders put the weight on your shoulders which works better for me. It also looks impressive!

An insane amount of storage pockets are on this belt, and the cell phone pocket on the suspenders (which do come off by the way) is handy. It puts the phone closer to where you can hear it. I used to hate never hearing my phone when strapped to my waist in an noisy environment. Actually, there is a second phone pocket around the waist area, which is handy if you have a cell phone and a 2-way radio, you can protect them both. Clever!

I'd definately recommend this tool belt. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great deal for the price!!
The MK tile saw is in my opinion a great deal, for $79.00 it's not going to be made out of heavy gauge steel or aluminum, the all plastic body is just fine though, better than steel cause it will never rust and just as light as aluminum. I have made probably 300 cuts so far with this saw and it has worked like a champ so far, it is a little bit on the loud side and will spray water at you if you over fill the water reservoir, it has had plenty of power and the fence works just fine if you line it up properly, it is light, portable and will suit the average DIY'r just fine, it will do anything that the bigger saws do just maybe a little slower, you can rent a professional saw which usually goes for around $50-$70 day but just buy this instead and take your time!! The bottom line...if you intend to do some small tiling projects around the home such as a bathroom, kitchen or entryway then definitely get this saw, if your going to be laying 5000 sq ft of tile with lots of cuts then durability might be an issue!! buy the proper tool for the job at hand.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for big jobs
I started using the saw making repetitive cuts and I thought the saw was great. It did a fine job. The little saw cut quick and clean with no problems.

I proceeded to cut pieces for trim work and the fun begin. Every tile was a different size and I had about 400 to do. It took me forever to do 40 because I spent a lot of time adjusting the rip fence. It is a pain after the table surface gets dirty.

Bottom line: my job was too large for this saw. I went out the next day and bought a more expensive saw with a sliding table and a bigger reservoir. I finished the rest of the tile in about 5 hrs. If you need a saw for repetitive cuts or for a handful of tile different sizes and you're on a budget then this is your saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pain in the neck
This could be a good saw if only the company had made the fence a little more durable and user friendly. If not just perfectly aligned the saw binds and chips the end of each cut. The guide could be easier to see also, as it gets filled with crud very quickly. I used it for about an hour on a small job that required many cuts and got so frustrated I put it back in the box for return tomorrow. That is why I deal with amazon.com.

4-0 out of 5 stars Weekend Handyman and Scubaman
This is [not a good] tool. It's all plastic except for the motor. The bed is way too small to cut large tiles, and the fence is a [not very good]. Changing the water is bit of a pain since the fence may have to be removed so the bed can be opened to dump the water out. The saw is really noisy. Tile has to be cut much more slowly than with bigger saws. But this is one of, if not the least, [costly] wet saw out there. To compensate for the small bed, I built a wooden box and placed the saw in it and

this effectively extended the bed about 12 inched in all four directions. I used a four foot straight edge and a couple of clamps instead of the supplied fence. As for the noise - wear hearing protection. I tiled a foyer, bath, laundry and closet (250 sq. ft. total with plenty of cuts around doors, pipes, mouldings) with 14 inch ceramic tile and this saw never missed a beat. I had considered renting, but this was my first tile job, and all the measuring and cutting took much longer than I had expected. Renting would have been much more expensive, and I wouldn't have the saw at my disposal to re-tile the master bath.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Plasplugs
I bought this saw after finally burning my Plasplugs 4 year old saw out because I thought I'd save [money]. How wrong I was! The motor kept tripping out, guide was ineffective and the noise of the motor deafening. Fortunately I got my money back and bought another Plasplugs saw which I was surprised to findout is made in the US and not China like MK's. Save yourself some time and energy buy Plasplugs first. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars If you have an HDTV, you need this camcorder!!!!
This is the first camcorder I have ever used that looks good on an HDTV. No... Let me correct that. It looks great!!!

Have you ever wondered why a normal camcorder looks so bad on an HDTV? It's because an HDTV is very high resolution. When you connect a traditional camcorder (even a Mini DV), the TV sees a much smaller, comparatively low resolution picture and must scale it (digitally enlarge it) to fit the screen. It doesn't matter if you have a $400 low end cam or a $4000 high end cam... Scaling the picture on virtually any HDTV will ruin your camcorder picture.

JVC solved this on the GR-HD1 with the world's first consumer HD camcorder. Basically, it's the first consumer camcorder ever that makes a picture which correctly fits a widescreen HDTV. It records a picture with 720 x 1280 dots, compared with 480 x 720 dots for a normal camcorder.

The result? The detail & resolution is simply phennominal! The colors look great! The video is much more appealing to watch in widescreen because it more closely matches your natural field of vision.

The only thing you need to be careful of is the frame rate. This shoots 720/30P. What that means is it takes video at 30 frames per second. As a result, if the camera uses too fast of a shutter speed you may see a "jitter" in things that move on-screen. The fix is really easy: Simply take the camcorder out of the "auto" mode and lock in a 1/30th of a second shutter speed. This eliminates the vast majority of the jitter. What you are left with is a superb high resolution video with a subtle "film-like" quality.

You don't have to be Stephen Speilberg to appreciate this. This is the ideal camcorder for any type of family video. Think about the great stuff happening today that you'll want to be able to watch 10-20 years from now, and still be happy with the quality.

If you own an HDTV, no other camcorder else even comes close! ... Read more

One of the most popular brad nailers on the market, this model from Senco is lightweight, oil free, and perfect for work on fine woods and trim. It has a comfortable foam grip and, at only 2.3 pounds, you'll be able to use it all day without having to worry about excessive arm fatigue. 5-0 out of 5 stars A REAL STRAIGHT SHOOTER
I know that some other less expensive nailers out there are very popular, and may perform just fine but, in my opinion this is the best brad nailer on earth.I say it's a work of art. It is so refined and sculpted inside and out it truley deserves A 5 star rating.Replacement parts and service centers are not a problem, when time is money.I wont bore you with all the projects I've done but, I will say they were a lot easier and hassle free using this tool.Senco is made right here in the good ol' U.S.A. and has a solid reputation.I'm not knocking some of the other brands out there. I'm just saying, you get what you pay for. Now get out there and build something.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT GUNS
... I have a Porter Cable finish nailer and it has performed flawlessly in the time I've had it. But, I knew the Senco is a better piece of equipment even though it is twice the price of the Porter Cable. In the time I've had the Senco brad nailer I have been totally satisfied. It's light, easy to handle and has virtually no kick back when fired. I'm delighted to have the better quality tool at nearly the same price.

3-0 out of 5 stars Has difficulty countersinking
I've used the SLP20 at work (remodeling), and overall think it's probably a good brad nailer. I suspect that the one we're using may have a defect or be wearing out (although it's relatively new). The majority of the time, ours fails to countersink any size of brad. Instead it flush drives the brads or leaves the head slightly above the wood surface. This means that we have to get out the nail set, which leaves a larger than desirable mark on the wood. It's time consuming to set the brads by hand, and unacceptable when we're working with stain-grade woods.

Recently a colleague bought a reconditioned Porter Cable BN200A to use instead of the Senco. The first one had misfiring problems, but the second one works fine. It's too early to know how the Porter Cable will hold up, but it sure is nice to have a brad nailer that can properly countersink the brads.

I've also used an Hitachi NT50AE that another finish carpenter at our jobsite really likes. For the price (it's the cheapest of the three on Amazon.com), I'd probably go with the Hitachi although I don't like the fact that it's a little taller than the others.

5-0 out of 5 stars happy woodworker
Love the gun is a multipurpose gun for woodworking

5-0 out of 5 stars Changed my life
A couple of years ago I embarked on a remodel of my house, and I was determined to perform all of the interior finish carpentry, and refurnish with Arts and Craft style furniture. After quite a bit of research I settled on two nailers, a Senco finish nailer and this SLP-20. Since that time I've used these tools to drive hundreds (thousands?) of nails and brads, into wood ranging from oak to soft pine, and they have never failed me. I now approach any nailing task with utter confidence in my tools, and I'm a better woodworker for it. I have never regretted spending somewhat more for my Senco nailers because they have never let me down. The one servicing need I had cleared up an air leak problem instantly, thanks to the folks at the service center. The SLP-20 is a high quality product, and is money well spent. 3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed.
I just set up this saw and used it to cut porcelain tile for a kitchen countertop. Assembly was simple and the instructions are short and clear. Unfortunately there are no adjustments to the saw arm or table to square the blade to 90 degrees vertical or parallel to the table slide. My saw was out of alignment on both. After an hour of digging through my collection of washers and repeatedly reinstalling the motor on the arm, I managed to shim the saw to the correct orientation. The motor has plenty of power but is the loudest tool in my shop (by far). Ear protection is a MUST. It took a very reasonable 15 seconds per 6" cut through 5/16" porcelain. The other design flaw is the tub is too short. When sliding the tray through the blade, the tray carries outside the tub and pours water on the ground. This makes a mess and requires adding water back into the tub to keep the required water level. I chose this over the MK-470 because it was Porter Cable and I liked the tub better. I would still buy a saw rather than rent one because no job should be rushed. But, I would probably buy a different one if I had a "do-over".

5-0 out of 5 stars best of class tile saw.
Professional craftsman know that the Porter Cable brand can't be beat in the area of routers and sanders. I wasn't sure what to expect in the tile cutting area, so I didn't immediately go with this saw.

Some earlier negative reviews of this saw...prompted me to actually get the slightly cheaper MK sliding table saw instead. I was very dissapionted with that saw's design & quality and had to return it after wasting two days on the site and a lot of money in wasted stone due to wandering cuts. I returned it and decided to try the Porter Cable.

For a saw in this price range, or even for double the cost, this is the best sliding table design I've seen and used. It does have some "flex" in the table but it is very predictable and it is easy to consistantly get good results. My first task was to cut 70 1.5" by 10" border pieces in granite. All pieces cut square and quick.

The saw's engineering is excellent; while assembling the tool I kept wishing that everything was designed and built with this much care. Components that I thought were plastic...ended up being high quality polished aluminum castings. WOW!

The included dimond blade also appears to be of higher quality than some of the "clay-only" type dimond blades that other manufactures include with their saws.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible value for the price
I had a $48 QEP saw before this wildly overpriced Porter Cable [one] and the $48 saw cut tiles more efficiently and accurately than this garbage. The bearings on my ...PC saw stripped within 6 months and I was told by my PC dealer it had to be caused by improper use, not faulty bearings. ...I will never buy a PC product again. Lousy saw and even worse customer service support. Buy it if you have to have lousy durability with a Proter Cable tag glued on it.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm satisfied
I've had this saw for over a year and have cut a LOT of tile with it. I've been pleased overall with its performance. The only complaints I have is the noise (ear plugs definately required) and my tabe is very sightly warped (because it sat out in the sun for a week). I would prefer a metal table with a miter attachment but I'm not willing to pay hundreds more for that. My table rolls smoothly and the cuts are always clean and accurate. Other tile cutters in this price range can only rip 12" tiles which is what ultimatly led me to buy the Porter Cable.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just horrible.
I do tile and stone work for a living. This is the most
gosh-awful thing I've ever had the displeasure to work with.
First, let me say two good things about the saw.. it's
(1) light and (2) easy to clean up; making it great for
indoor work where you can keep this saw right by you
as your doing tile work. The tray holds very little
water (specifically you can fill it with about 3/4
of a spackle bucket.... so you don't have to go through
a whole big routine to empty the saw (i.e. dumping
several buckets of waste water outside)).

First, we at work nicknamed this saw "the screamer."
Albeit, the saw was modestly quiet when I first
bought it... but the bearings rapidly deteriorated
about 5 times faster than my 6 other wet saws!!!
I have to wear headphones. If it was any louder,
I'd probably go deaf. I'm redoing the bearings,
but I don't expect it to last. Junk saw.

Second, although there is very little "play"
[lateral movement) in the tray (a plus), if this
saw vibrated any more... I'd reconfigure it as
a jackhammer!!! I can't even keep a tile held
in one place unless I apply about 20 pounds
of pressure on the tile to keep it from shifting
as I'm cutting.

Target, QEP, SawMaster, Felker..., even MK...
anything but this horrible contraption.

Porter Cable has a good reputation. I've had
(errr.. my father, has had) Porter Cable drills
that still function and probably were made before
I was born... Good stuff.... but this is clear

evidence that just because a company makes
good drills... don't mean they know diddly
about making tile saws. ... Read more
