To be honest, we looked twice at the price, certain the folks at Amazon had made a mistake. But sure enough, they're right--and so is the price. Porter-Cable makes some of the best pneumatic tools in the industry, and these nailers are two prime examples. The 16-gauge is sturdy, compact, lighter and quieter than you'd expect with a grip even smaller hands can get around. Great balance, easy depth-of-drive adjustment, and a pleasure to use. Similarly, the 18-gauge is light but rugged, comfortable and maneuverable, even in awkward places or after long runs. Some other features we like: a special hardened driver blade, a sequential fire trigger, a visual reload indicator, a safety located behind the driver guide for driving brads in tight spaces and an easy-to-adjust depth guide. Both guns have directional exhausts, too. The pancake-style compressor has a six-gallon tank and easily runs both guns at the same time. It's light, portable and doesn't want much from you in terms of maintenance--it's oil-free and Teflon-coated. Some other reasons to like it: a high-flow regulator, an easy-to-read air pressure gauge, automatic thermal overload protection, an industrial-style quick-connect body in the air outlet, and a long-life motor with replaceable brushes. We can't imagine this deal will be around forever.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great value nailer kit
This combo nail gun/air compressor set is a great product combination and wonderful value. I really like it. Each nail gun comes complete with a sturdy plastic carry case, a supply of nails, and tool oil. Everything comes pretty much ready to use. Just break in the air compressor (which only takes 15 minutes) and you are ready to go. The air compressor moves around from vibration when it starts up - I had to put it on a rubber mat to keep it from scooting along my basement floor. It probably wouldn't be a problem on a job site where the floor is not so smooth. The guns load easily. I used the finish nailer to build a display rack for my wife and had no mis-fires or jams using Porter-Cable nails. (I bought the B & C nails that Amazon advertised for these guns, but after later reading the negative reviews about them, I have been reluctant to use them - don't waste your money on them like I did - you can buy Porter-Cable nails at local big name home centers, which are not all that expensive).

This is a great value and well worth the money spent. However, UPS handling has gotten so bad with heavier items that you will be taking a chance by buying it online.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
This kit is an amazing value. One Senco nailer costs more than this whole set. As some one said earlier, I got tired of borrowing compressors and guns from relatives. I used the brad nailer to make 11 porch rail columns out of MDO plywood. (That's 44 pieces that needed to be glued and nailed.) This task would have taken me days with the conventional hammer and nails. I finished the project in an evening. The brad nailer is an extremely useful tool when building projects that require gluing. The thin gauge brads hold the project together while the glue is curing and the leave a hole that is practically invisible. This replaces the use of many clamps or clamps in awkward positions.
The finish nailer is easier to load and as smooth as my father's $300 Senco finish nailer. It is also about half the weight. The ability to drive 2-1/2" nails is a big plus.
The compressor is a little loud but extremely efficient. It actually powered a Senco framing nailer better than the Emglo compressor I am used to using. These tools are great for the hobbyist, home improvement guru, or home craftsmen and they will last for many years. However, the everyday use of a professional will probably wear out the finish nailer and compressor in a year or so. But if you work out of your home you can't go wrong with this set up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Should have bought it long ago!!
WAY COOL! What else can I say. Should have bought it long ago, but thought I could get by with a hammer and a nail set. Change is tough. Buy it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Crown Molding the EZ way......
I purchased the P-C Combo Kit to install crown molding. This is the best deal available. The compressor is indeed quite noisy. Wear ear protection. Never had a nail gun jam. Wish I had purchased one earlier. I bought this with the "Crown Molding & Trim Instalation Kit by Quint Measuring Systems". Buy the compressor kit with the Quint book & Angle finders & you won't make a single mistake. I didn't. Quint MS also offers an Excel program that is very nice. Just measure & plug in the value..... couldn't be easier. For my first attempt at installing crown molding, you couldn't tell my work from a pro's.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why don't YOU have one yet!?!?!?!
    Hello,

My father in-law bought this kit at Home Depot back in January. He told me about it and I saw it but just couldn't plunk down the money. Then I helped him put all new baseboards in his house last weekend. I got home, got on Amazon.com and found that there was a sale coupon which brought the price down to about $275.00 for this kit. SOLD!! This is an awesome kit. Great nailers, Great Compressor at a GREAT price. Other people have reviewed the equipment so I won't repeat what you know. Snatch one of these up ASAP before there gone. I know Home Depot in the Sacramento Area no longer sells them, all sold out. If your looking at it, you'd better buy it now, they ain't gonna last much longer. I did the Free shipping and I got lucky. Ordered it on 6/28/04 @ 727 am PDT, and received it today, 6/29/04 @ 1227 pm PDT, OVERNIGHT for free, WOW. God bless Amazon, God Bless Porter Cable and most importantly God Bless the United States of America. Now, I'm gonna go build something, don't know what, but I'm gonna build something.

    Amazon.com Review

Impressively compact, lightweight, and comfortable to use, Panasonic's 15.6-volt drill/driver fits into tight spaces where other bulkier drills won't. The 3-1/2 amp NiMH batteries deliver remarkable run time per charge, which is a big plus, especially if you need a tool for continuous use. What about power? This Panasonic packs up to 390 inch-pounds of torque--as much (if not more) than anyone needs in a cordless tool. The motor's speed control allows full torque at any speed, so you can apply full torque while still maintaining control. The tool features dual speed ranges of 65 to 450 and 200 to 1,450 rpm. The 1/2-inch chuck takes bigger bits. The first thing you notice about this tool, however, is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8-1/2 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft-pad grip provides extra cushion and the tool's balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. The 3-1/2 amp batteries are ventilated, so they last longer, delivering up to 1,200 charges and recharges. This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes a 55-minute universal charger and hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Kept Secret in Cordless Drills
I've owned or used a lot of cordless drills, from Black and Decker (ugh), Porter Cable, DeWalt, Milwaulkee, Makita and others, but I'd never heard of the Panasonic until a friend who does a lot of decks introduced me to it. He was using the earlier 12 volt model, but everything I discovered in using that drill applies to this one as well.

Panasonic isn't thought of as a power tool company, but their cordless drills are the best I've ever used, bar none. They've got the fastest recharge rate- 15 minutes- and that translates to more time drilling and less time recharging. It also translates to longer battery life; the less time spent charging, the less the heat buildup, and that's what kills these batteries. I know my friend has been using his on a daily basis for over five years with the original battery. The Panasonic drills also seem to get more useful drilling out of a single charge, something that recent tests by one magazine confirm.

My current 1/2" Makita is still going strong, but if it should happen to give up the ghost, I'm replacing it with a Panasonic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Drill - but battery life question
I purchased the original 3.0 amp-hour 15.6 drill in winter 1999. The drill has always perfomed flawlessly and easliy had the best run time in comparison to 12 volt Makita's and 14.4 volt Dewalts I had used previously. I built two small boats out of white oak with this drill (all drilling and screwing) as my only drill. This included numerous 2 1/2" hole sawing through 3/4" particle board temporary framing. The drill is awesome.

My "but" comes with the battery life. Both of my batteries were shot by early 2002, with a total life of just over 2-1/2 years. There is no way I put 1,200 charge cycles into these batteries, more like 2 charges per battery per week. The run time usually last for almost a full day of boat work. That equates to approximately 260 charges. I dont know why Panasonic is advertising 1,200 charges I know my previous 14.4 Dewalt was slightly better for battery life, but the old Makita was much better. Is it the Ni-Mh battery that does not hold up over time, or maybe the batteries should always be inside, not in the varing temperatures of the garage.

With that said, I will be purchasing the new 3.5 amp-hour version. I just get irked that 2 replacement batteries cost as much as the whole new kit. Panasonic should make new batteries more affordable, because now I have two great drills and chargers, but only 2 batteries. Yup, bend over for the "lord of the landfill".

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended
One of the top tools I have ever purchased. Runs like a sewing machine. Plently of power, it has never stalled out, and I have been using it for over one year. The chuck is excellent. The drill is light weight and easy to hold over long periods of time.

5-0 out of 5 stars A terrific tool
Amzingly powerful, I've never been able to stall it. I have yet to run a battery dead, even after heavy use, I just recharge 'em anyway, and they don't lose charge when idle.

I misplaced it in New Jersey, and was without it when I needed to drive some screws. All I had at hand was my good 'ol Milwaukee half inch, corded. I sure missed the light weight and power of the Panasonic and the instant electric brake. The huge motor of the "big Red one" seemed to coast forever after releasing the trigger.

Got my EY6432 back a few days later, and sold the Red one I'd had for 10 years on eBay! (for $90)

The Panasonic has so much power, I'll not need a cord drill ever again.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great deal
Powerful and precise, no slipping, and gets into every nook, cranny and corner. This PANASONIC CORDLESS is indestructible. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped or knocked this thing over. I've used it on my car, on just about every part of my house. And for the price that Amazon is asking, every professional or handiman should have one on their workbenches. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker CCC3000 does what it says it'll do
I have an acre lawn with lots of landscaping, and this is perfect for my needs. It does take more than one battery pack to trim my whole yard, but with 3 interchangable packs, it is no challenge for it. And with 18 volts, the power provided is more than adequate for the yard. The blower is powerful and makes my yard look much neater, and the hedge trimmer is great. Along with an edge hog electric edger I purchased this year, I have all the tools to make a manicured lawn. You can't beat the price of this set of tools either. All 3 items can be purchased seperatly, but you'd pay quite a bit more for them doing that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does Just What I Want
Tried all three units. The guard on the trimmer serves as a trim guide. The trimmer cuts through the suckers that sprout at the base of harvested trees. The blower is just fine for clearing debris from the porch and deck. Can't get much easier. Don't worry much about dead batteries. With the three supplied, normal use is not a problem. If I REALLY want heavy duty (for the few times I need it) gas is the way to go. But who wants the stink and bother?? For the price I paid, my son was amazed the wacker had an auto line feed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tools, great convenience
The tools themselves worked great. I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful the blower was. The line trimmer did an acceptable trimming job, and actually did great at the edging work. The hedge trimmer make quick work of my low hanging tree branches.

I loved the convenience of the two hanging units, one for the tools themselves, and one for the charging unit. Helps to keep an organized garage.

Highly recommend this set for the typical homeowner.

5-0 out of 5 stars very happy and pleased
Have used this set for the first time the other day and am very happy to say all three tools work great. the ease of use of cordless is just fantastic! The trimmer worked great on ivy and though I feel a little like I sold out with the blower (can't stand the pollution; noise and exhaust) it is quiet and if used responsibly is great to have for those hard to reach/sweep areas. I would highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars great "bang for the buck" for the AVERAGE home-owner
for the owner of a "modest" yard,..this is an INCREDIBLE bang for the buck. the weed trimmer and the hedge trimmer did their jobs excellently and the sweeper exceeded my expectations to the Nth degree. ALL THREE tools were up-to-the-task of trimming, hedging, edging and sweeping. i was MOST concerned about battery life. i manicured my entire yard with ALL THREE tools with nary a gasp from the battery (15-20 minutes use from each,..NOT counting pauses between "uses"). the package comes with a 3-station battery charger AND a "hanging station" for all three tools (PLUS,..you can pick up an extra 18 volt battery or two at your local megastore IF you need it [for large yards]). i could not be happier.....weeds and grass got whacked, my various hedges got trimmed AND my carport and driveway were cleared of debris in a matter of moments. AND....THE NOISE....DID I MENTION THE NOISE??? THAT'S BECAUSE THESE ARE VERY QUIET, NEIGHBORHOOD-FRIENDLY POWER TOOLS. i am quite satisfied and would HIGHLY recommend the CCC3000 kit to ANYONE with "fairly" modest lawn care needs. ... Read more

Power, power and more power! The 18-volt 1/2-inch hammer drill/driver's high-torque motor churns out an impressive 500 inch-pounds of torque—imagine the jobs it could tackle. We were surprised by how good it feels in hand, thanks, we think, to its neatly balanced design that places the handle toward the center of the tool. A nice touch is the ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws for a superb hold on your bit. And the all-metal, three-speed transmission is so innovative that DeWalt patented it. All we know is that this is one powerhouse of a hammer drill/driver, no matter what mode it's in. The DC385 recip saw's keyless blade clamp wins points in our book for fast blade changes. And talk about fast—with its one-inch stroke length, it runs at 2,900 strokes per minute. Like the drill, it's well balanced and feels good in hand. It's compact, lightweight and offers great cutline visibility through the pivoting shoe's open top. Plus, we like that the blade will reverse for flush and plunge cutting. The circular saw slices into 2x4s like butter, and you can always see your cut because the blade's on the left. Bevel cuts are no sweat; the saw's easy to adjust and the scale's clear. If you're often working in tight spaces, you'll appreciate the design of the right-angle drill, which spans just 4-1/2 inches. Still, it's got two speed ranges (0-500 and 0-1,500 rpm) and reverse, and it packs 310 inch-pounds of torque. We like the multi-grip trigger, especially for cramped quarters. The grinder's hardworking with a nice three-position side handle. Kudos to DeWalt for the metal gear case and the longer life it'll give this grinder. Finally, the flashlight's neck is super flexible, shedding light in just about any direction for up to three hours. This is easily one of the most powerful hammerdrills on the market, packing 500 inch-pounds of torque and tackling the largest holes and heaviest screws. Whether you're going into studs or concrete, you'll appreciate the patented three-speed transmission that delivers an amazing 2,000 rpm at its max. In hammerdrill mode, get ready to be impressed with the speed you drill into concrete and other masonry at 34,000 blows per minute. Every inch of this tool is quality, from the 1/2-inch metal ratcheting chuck and its carbide jaws to the super-comfortable grip and beefy extended-life XRP 18-volt battery. Balance in hand is awesome, and the 360-degree auxiliary handle adjusts easily to just the right position.

You've got to love combo kits, and this one might reign supreme in the contracting world. The king of recip saws, Milwaukee delivers here with their awesome cordless Hatchet Sawzall model with a six-position pivoting handle. The tool is only 13 inches long when fully pivoted, letting you cut between 16-inch on center studs, as well as between rafters and joists, with very aggressive orbital action. You'll like the super quick and easy blade changes, too. The 18-volt 6-1/2-inch circular saw easily cuts 2-by material at a 45-degree bevel in just one pass and packs plenty of power. The saw's excellent balance, all-metal upper and lower guards, and rigid aircraft aluminum shoe add durability you can feel. The soft-grip handle feels great in hand and dampens vibration. The hammer drill features reversible battery for working in tight spaces and, we think, better balance, too. The soft grip reduces pressure points and absorbs tool vibration, too--a nice feature considering the tool's got 495 inch-pounds of torque and up to 1,700 rpm. Last, the handy multiposition flashlight has a nice, strong beam and stays where you put it. Everything fits in the roomy, rugged bag–ready for transport when the work is done.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!
Not sure how else to title this review. I got this set about 2 months ago. Everything has come in handy. I used the drill (hammer drill, but haven't used the hammer option yet) and circular saw to redo my deck. Used the Hatchet a little bit, but not too much.

The drill has an amazing amount of torque. I bought this set for two reasons:
    1) Milwaukee name. I figure that this'll last me for the rest of my life, or well past the life of the original set of Milwaukee batteries that came with it, and
    2) I looked at just about all of the competitors, and the Milwaukee driver has the most torque of them all, as far I could find. I wanted this because I was driving screws through pressure-treated 2-by lumber without pre-drilling. And this worked like a charm.

The circular saw has lots of torque as well. With some sloppy cutting (not all, just a little bit, and some of this intentional), it was difficult to slow down the blade when it began to bind. In my book that's good.

Like I said, I only used the Hatchet a little bit, but I was impressed.

And even the light came in handy this last weekend as the big east coast hurricance blew through and zapped everyone's house power.

I was impressed with the batteries. I drove upwards of 900 long screws into my deck and made lots of cuts with the circular saw over several days. I only had to recharge the batteries 3-4 times. Not too shabby. And the Milwaukee universal charger (charges all of their batteries from ~9 volts up to 18 volts) is very nice too. A little light tells you the battery status, and the quick charge (an hour, I think) was nice.

The bag is nice and big. I haven't even bothered to put the tools in there yet, but there appears to be ample room and the bag is quite heavy and will probably take a good beating.

Overall, I'm extremely happy I got this set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey use your oun
I work with a contractor on a regular basis. He uses all of that yellow stuff. I needed to replace my cordless drill. I looked around at what was available and decided to get the Milwaukee set. I don't have any of the problems described above in the other reviews. The batteries hold up great. The drill works super.I even bought a second one. You can't say enough about the hatchet WOW. My problem is that boss wont leave my stuff alone. He has me checking prices for him because he wants one. Great tools

2-0 out of 5 stars Contractor
I've had this set for about 6 months. The drill is burn't up. The lock button is in an awkward spot so you tend to lock it on when using it. The chuck is not very good, the batteries are hard to change and it is too large to fit in many spaces. The sawzall works very well but eats batteries. The circular saw is a waste of money. The blade is on the left side and it eats batteries like crazy. It is not very powerful either. The light is the best piece of the entire set. All in all I'm pretty disappointed with Milwaukee on this one. I buy Milwaukee tools exclusively because they usually last. I think the higher voltage sets are not as good as say the 12 or 14 volt sets. The batteries really are ackwardly designed. If you do any drywall they are very hard to get off because the mechanism fills with dust.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Kit
I've had this kit for at least a year now, and I love it. Sure, it's heavy, but it's 18v, what do you expect? The drill has loads of power, and hasn't burnt up on me yet. Nor have I accidentally locked it. My biggest complaint on it is the Hammer action on it. Of course, I was drilling through solid concrete, not masonry, which is what hammerdrills are intended for. I've used the drill and the Skilsaw the most, and I'm glad the blade's on the left side, as a right-hander and wormdrive user. It will never replace my wormdrive, but when you have to cut over your head or hundreds of feet from any power source, it's most definitely worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pulling your chain
I have owned this kit for more than two years and it is still going strong, I love it. But I have to tell you I have never seen this kit at $900.00 plus. When I first saw it three or more years ago it was only $500.00 or so dollars. Just to let you know, you can go to Home Depot or Lowes and get it for about the same price. So someone is pulling your chain. ... Read more

There's not much you can't do with a set of tools like this. Frame and drywall and trim a room. Build a deck. Make some gingerbread shelves. All the tools in it are powered by 18-volt nickel-metal hydride batteries, and you won't feel any less power than their corded counterparts. Here's what we like about each of the tools in this kit: The recip saw has a tool-free blade-change system, perfect when you're on the roof and the allen wrench is in the truck. Variable speed offers exact cuts in a wide range of materials, and the electric brake means safety. We like the circular saw's large aluminum wraparound base and the 50-degree bevel capacity, externally accessible brushes and the electric brake that stops the blade almost immediately. It's light, yet powerful. The hammer driver-drill is super tough with a gear housing of industrial metal, and with 16 torque settings, you won't be at a loss. The rubber grip feels good and helps absorb impact. You can change the bits one-handed, too. Like the recip saw, the jigsaw offers tool-free blade changing as well as tool-free base bevel adjustments to 45 degrees left and right. Cutting curves? No problem, thanks to three orbital settings in addition to the straight cut. The trigger switch is nice and big, too, something we always like to see. We like the blower's versatility: Blow your work mess into a corner, then switch to vacuum and clean it all up. It's super light and so portable, it's perfect too for tidying up a vehicle. If you're vacuuming in the dark, just aim the four-position flashlight at your mess. A fantastic combination of tools, both for the professional and the homeowner.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good value
First the good news: this is a good value considering all you get for the money. Each of the tools is a decent tool in its own right. I'm glad I bought this and would recommend it to the occassional home improvement enthusiast.

Now the bad news: the blower is nigh useless. As with all multi-pack tools, there is a little skimping here and there on the tools. If you need any of these tools for anything more than occassional use, you might want to buy them separately. When you get a combo deal like this, you get what you pay for.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Box!!
I bought this set in USA and lugged it back to the U.K. so i can say it's a big box. As for the tools... The blower is absolutely useless...well...actually i found a use for it...blowing cobwebs out of the corners of my rooms. The torch i haven't used much..doesn't seem like anything special. However..the main tools of the set i have found excellent. The jigsaw especially seems very powerful for a cordless. The drill is lovely to use..not to heavy and the batteries go on and on. Only one gripe..the chuck has some play in it straight out of the box. I built a large deck in 3 weekends just using these cordless tools and the only sticking point was trying mitres with the circ saw. No Chance...had to drag out the Ls1013 another excellent makita tool. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

Remember when you were a kid on Christmas morning, with a pile of new toys to play with--but no batteries? Well, Porter-Cable's not going to let that happen to you again. Here they've packaged their hard-working 18-gauge brad nailer with its power source--a 15 amp, 120-volt, 6-gallon compressor driven by a 2-horsepower oil-free motor. Fill up the nailer with standard 18-gauge brads from 3/4 inch to 2 inches long, hook up, and you're ready to install baseboards, chair rails, moldings, even make quick work of those wooden craft items like country shelves and vegetable bins. Here's a nice feature: the safety is located behind the driving guide, so you can work in tight spaces. The die-cast body weighs only 2-3/4 pounds, and a removable rubber nose won't leave a mark on your workpiece. There's a handy depth adjustment for setting the drive depth of the nail and a directional exhaust port. When the anodized magazine's visual reload indicator tells you you're empty, reach into the rugged carrying case, where there's room to store 5,000 brads. The kit comes with quick connects, 25 feet of 300 psi air hose and thread sealing tape. It's the perfect combination at a really good price. Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great product delivers almost everything promised
This nailer kit is by far one of the greastest additions to my home workshop. The tool is flawless and the uses for readily available compressed air keep on coming. Ordering from Amazon was easy and the product arrived on time in excellent condition. One of the main reasons I purchased from Amazon was the $50 promotional certificate. DON'T EXPECT AMAZON TO HONOR THEIR OFFER. All you get is some gibberish about a technical error from Amit. Fat chance I will ever buy anything from Amazon.com again.

4-0 out of 5 stars A happy owner!!
I bought this kit because I wanted a larger compressor than I had, one with a tank, and a brad gun. I came upon this and bought it. The gun is great and never jams and is easily adjustable. The compressor works flawlessly. My only complaint (be it a minor one for me) is that the thing sounds like a jackhammer. It is LOUD!!! I mostly use it in my garage so I ended up puting it in a shed outside and running a hose into the garage. Now I barely hear it. The 4 stars is only because of the noise level.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money
Positives: works very well, plenty of power to drive nails into hardwood, doesn't split the wood (even at the edge of a board), it's consistent in depth of drive, doesn't mar the surface, and the price is good.
Negatives: none other than the noise of the compressor, but hey it's a power tool what do you expect.
    Summary: highly recommend!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs.
I purchased this kit because I had a ton of baseboard molding to replace. This included everything I needed in one convenient package and is perfectly sized for my needs. I have used it for molding installation and have purchased two additional nailers to use with the compressor: a framing nailer and flooring stapler. The compressor will cycle more often because of its small capacity but that is not a problem as long as you are near an electrical source. This is the perfect size for the home improvement enthusiast. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars Woodworker Hobby or Trim Tool
I got this package for very light duty use - woodworking shop projects and qtr-round molding on flooring. The nailer is a quality tool that sells for $120 everywhere so that makes the compressor only $75. I had a $15 coupon so the compressor was only $60 for me.
The compressor is so light that it is no problem carrying it. The tank pressure is 125 lbs and I set the tank outlet pressure to 90 lbs. It shoots about 10 brads before it cycles but you can keep shooting as it runs. I used 5/8" brads on molding on a shop project and 2" brads on floor qtr-round without a single problem. This sure saves time and doesn't mar the wood. It is pretty quiet and also looks good. Getting to small jobs and using this little tool is a pleasure. I will get an air blower tip for it; so far I'm satisfied.

3-0 out of 5 stars I used this product
I too had a problem with the 1/4 tubing that is attached to the compressor it cracked right where it bends I used to intall wainscotting and it worked fine....BUT you have to wait after 10 shots for it you build up presure. before you go at it again... I will try liquid steel to seal the crack. I think it cracked because I used it outside on a warm day and then the sun went down and got cool out since the tubing gets hot it must of cracked. overall for the price it worth it for small jobs

1-0 out of 5 stars don't buy it!
Thought this compressor would be the answer for smaller jobs. I bought the compressor only as I own senco guns already. It lasted only three small jobs, maybe 300 fasteners shot with this compressor and it stopped working. It's past the 90 days warrenty-I missed that, thought 1 year. don't buy this one. what a dissapointment!

1-0 out of 5 stars Think twice
This nailer came three days ago. Bummer. The compressor cannot build up pressure to run the nailer. I called Senco; they were insulting and implied I did something wrong. They proceeded to tell me to tighten bolts etc. None of it worked. Then they had the nerve to tell me to "just try to return it". I tried and did. Enough of them. Buy this product and deal with Senco at your own risk.

3-0 out of 5 stars compressor try's hard but comes up a bit short
I agree with the other reviewers who have given praise to this product. I felt the same way till mine broke after less than a months use.
Of course it was the compressor which broke, the part with the 90 day warranty. I did not catch that when I bought this.
Senco is a good company, but I think this little compressor is not quite up to the quality of their other products.
In my case it was the 1/4" copper tubing which brings the air to the tank that failed. It split where the tubing had been bent.
I have fixed it with some liquid steel, since I'm on a job with it, I'm hoping the repair lasts till I have time to replace to tubing.
I have used this to build two large bookcase and cabinet projects so far, and in doing so I have learned the compressors limitations. It does not do well
shooting two inch nails into MDF. It does not have the power to fully sink the nail into the material. I bought this combo for the light weight
of the compressor, so I guess there must be some compromises. This won't take the place of more powerful compressors,
but it is great for carrying to and from a job. I just hope I do not have problems with it in the future. I'm not sure I would
recommend this product, the 90 day warranty on the compressor is a big negative. especially since it seems to have some problems. ... Read more

We love being able to get to work with tools right out of the box, so combo kits are high on our list. This one's got not one but two nailers and a great little compressor. First, the nailers: The 16-gauge top-load finish nailer is so light and compact, it's just a joy to handle. It didn't jam on us, but if it did, clearing it would have taken only a couple seconds because of the quick-release nose door. Depth control adjusts easily, and the tip doesn't mar the workpiece. We really like the full-length window that lets you see how many nails you've got left. When it fires, it's got virtually no recoil, and combined with the comfortable rubber grip, it's easy on the user. Because of nose design, it can slip into places other nailers can't go. The 18-gauge side-load brad nailer also has the view window, and it's super easy to load. As with the finish nailer, jams are cleared quickly and easily, firing depth is simple to adjust, it's comfortable in hand and it's extremely light but powerful. Again, it has a no-mar tip. The heart of this combo is a high-performance, oil-free compressor, built tough for the job site. At six gallons, it's not huge, but for nailers, this is plenty. One of Hitachi’s most popular nailers, and for good reason. It’s practically impossible to jam and fires a rapid three nails per second. At first gander, it appears heavy and unwieldy, but in hand, it’s amazingly well-balanced and comfortable, and Hitachi’s nailers are among the most reliable we’ve seen. It runs off air pressure of 70 to 120 psi, delivering plenty of "pow" even at the lower end. Hitachi recommends this model for floor and wall framing, truss build-up, window build-up, construction of subflooring and roof decking, wall sheathing, and mobile home and modular house construction. The accompanying EC12 compressor provides plenty of air pressure for any pneumatic nailer at 4 cubic feet per minute at 90 psi and a 14-second recovery time. The twin tanks are stacked, so it’s compact and portable, perfect for the job site at 60 pounds.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

I have had this nailer and compressor for about a year and have gone through over 4 thousand nails. I have had no problems with the gun. The only problem encountered was with the compressor. It would not start up when connected to any extension cord. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a high quality nailer and compressor. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

Impressively compact, lightweight, and comfortable to use, Panasonic's 12-volt drill/driver fits into tight spaces where other bulkier drills won't. The 3 amp NiMH batteries deliver impressive run time per charge, which is a big plus, especially if you need a tool for continuous use. What about power? This Panasonic packs up to 293 inch-pounds of torque, while the motor's speed control allows full torque delivery at any speed, with dual speed ranges of 0 to 400 and 1 to 1,300 rpm. The 1/2-inch chuck takes bigger bits. The first thing you notice about this tool, however, is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8-3/16 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft-pad grip provides extra cushion and the balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes two of Panasonic's long-lasting 3 amp NiMH batteries, a universal charger, and a hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best cordless ever
I've been using cordless drills since they first came out 25yrs ago. I've had 7.6 volt skill, 9 volt B&D, 12 volt skill, 12 volt bosch, 14.4 Riobi, 14.4 DeWalt and 18 volt Bosch and the 12 volt Panasonic is the best. It's light and the batteries hold a charge longer then any other. I use my drills all day everyday and I have to change from driving screw to drilling holes and this drill works and it doesn't wear out you arm. What more could you want. Yeah it cost more but you get what you pay for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Drill you will ever buy!
After going through a couple of medium priced off the shelf drills that either locked up or were too heavy to use comfortably in a days work this one proved to go the distance! Lightweight, very quiet, easy to use, and super powerful! One year old and going strong! BEST DRILL EVER!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good drill, although expensive
Panasonic makes good cordless drills/drivers. They are well designed and last a long time. Probably the best 2 things about them is the flawless chuck design (holds even the smallest of bits in place without coming loose), and the long 3.5Ah runtime batteries. That said, they are more expensive than other brands.

I ended up with a Makita 14.4v. It was a much better value for the money especially because as of this writing, Makita is offering some attractive rebates. Also I liked the feel and balance of Makita better. The Panasonic has a huge and heavy battery while the Makita's battery is lighter (but probably doesn't last quite as long). Subsequently, the Panasonic felt like a brick was attached to the handle. Also, the case that comes with the Makita is much better-more sturdy and better designed (although larger) than Panasonic's cheapy case. Further, the Panasonic battery charger is much larger than the Makita one.

This kit comes complete with the drill, a black plastic hard case, 2 batteries and charger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the lot
Having used and worn out cordless industrial drills from AEG, Bosch, Black & Decker (DeWalt), Milwaukee, and Makita, I conclude that Panasonic (my several-years-old 12volt version of this one, with NiCD batteries) beats 'em all hands-down for quality, versatility, and long life. The 15-minute fast charge option (now 20 minutes as the batteries have aged) has been helpful at times. The 21-stage friction torqe clutch has been consistent, unlike Bosch's misbegotten electronic torque limiter design. Most important, though, in my opinion, is the automatic spindle lock and SUPERB chuck that grabs and HOLDS bits without slipping, unlike every other keyless design I've used on portable drills. When this baby bites the dust, Panasonic will again be my first choice for replacement.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Drill
I bought this unit a few weeks ago and am very satisfied with it. But this is my first cordless drill, and I've used it only for relatively light-duty projects around the house, so take my comments with those caveats in mind.

I've found the weight, torque, and comfort in the hand are all excellent for me. Some people I've shown it to have commented on the whine it makes, but but I don't think it's any noisier than other drills, just different sounding.

I took off one star because the trigger doesn't give a continuous range of speeds. It starts well at slow speeds, but tends to "kick over" to a very high speed with no transition as the trigger is pulled back. This happens in both the Low and High switch settings. That can be disconcerting.

Things missing that some (other) users might care about: No built-in level; no place to store screws/bits, etc. on the base. Good feature some other units don't have: stands up nicely on its handle. Good universal charger, and I like the NiMH batteries for ecological reasons if nothing else. There is a unit with 3.5 AH batteries, but I got this one with the smaller batteries because I figured the lighter weight was more important than the presumably longer work time between charges for my uses. The chuck is very easy to use, and looks like it runs true to me. Instruction manual tells nothing, but what didn't you know about what it does? ... Read more

Torque, speed and great ergonomics: DeWalt pulled it all together in this 18-volt XRP 1/2-inch drill/driver. Even at its peak 500 inch-pounds of torque, you feel no twist. We're impressed, too, with the patented three-speed transmission (offering 0-450, 0-1,450 and 0-2,000) for whatever material you're drilling into. Its max speed of 2,000 rpm is 38 percent faster than high speed. We like the all-metal ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws because we've had a bit slip every now and then, and the jaws help keep a tight grip on the shank. It's well-balanced, comfortable to grip and a joy to use. The circular saw slices into 2x4s like butter, and you can always see your cut because the blade's on the left. Bevel cuts to 50 degrees are no sweat; the saw's easy to adjust and the scale's clear. The rip fence isn't the best we've seen, but that's a relatively small blemish on an otherwise great combo.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

Here's a tough-as-nails nailer and a hardworking compressor perfect for the professional carpenter. The framing nailer has a 75-nail capacity extruded aluminum magazine that Bostitch says will survive falls, though we didn't try that for ourselves. We can tell you, though, that even though it weighs 8 pounds, it balances well and doesn't strain the user. Depth adjusts easily, and hungry toe-nailing teeth really take hold for slip-free use. It reliably fires 2- to 3-1/2-inch clipped head nails for use in framing, sheathing, siding, fencing, trusses, decking, pallets and wood to masonry. Powering this nailer is a 2.5 horse, six-gallon oil-lube compressor. At six gallons, it's not huge, but for nailers, this is plenty. We like that it's ready to use right out of the box, with all the air line and accessories you need to get started. Maintenance is important: You'll need to open the drain valves a couple times a day and oil it in the morning and at noon, and it'll serve you well.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more
