5-0 out of 5 stars dewalt 12v vehicle charger
I used the 18v tools to build an entire remote cabin where there was no regular electricity. The vehicle charger works great connected to a 12 volt solar power system.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best things on my work truck!!!
I was given one of these by work. Too bad I have to return it if I leave. Everyone that has any type of DeWalt tool should have this charger.

5-0 out of 5 stars DeWalt Vehicle Charger -- Must have for punch outs
This product is great for anyone that is always on the go and does not have access to an electrical outlet to plug in a battery charger. I use it everyday while performing a/c punchouts. I have owned it for 3 years and the only thing that I have found to be concerned about is overheating the charger and batteries on hot summer days. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ALOT FOR THE MONEY
This is a bargain. You get the drill, two batteries, a charging unit, a case, a built in bit holder with long phillips bit, a small plastic case with 10(or so) bits and the flashlight(adjustable head). This drill has some heft and feels good in the hand. It is well balanced. All the items fit easily into the case. The case has a built in pocket where the instruction fit. This is nice because many times the instructions get in the way when you are trying to close the case. Each battery took about 45 minutes to charge. The other reviewer is right. This drill is not the same as the photo. It is missing the cushioning on the handle.

The only problem I had was that the chuck was jammed open. I had to wrench it free with a couple of pliers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Picture not the same as tool

5-0 out of 5 stars Cordless Electric Shrub Pruner
We purchased this item recently for our large yard. We have a wide array of shrubs and ground covers. The shrubber did an excellent job shaping overgrown shrubs and trimming woody rosemary ground cover. It worked equally well removing spent flowerheads from perenials. The shrubber is lightweight yet powerfull and was easy to manuver and control even on hilly locations and hard to reach corners. The lock off switch that assures that the power is off is an important safety feature. We are purchasing a second "Black & Decker Shrubber" so my husband and I don't have to fight over the one we already have. Speeds up pruning and avoids sore hands and wrists from too much manual trimming. Great gardening tool--highly recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Shrubbers and plants come in different sizes...
If you have bought one of these items and don't like it, that's probably why. You have to buy tools based on the type of job and outcome expectations. Your job requires a larger size trimmer.

I'm a big fan of Black & Decker. They've been making affordable and quality products for decades. The 6" cordless shrubber I just bought is no exception. However, you need to buy tools that fit the job. No tool does everything. That said, this shrubber is good for small plants, ground covers, and shrubs with thin stems and branches. I've used it on Azaleas, miniature Gardenias, English Ivy, and other assorted small stem shrubs. On a few of my shrubs, the stalk is a bit big for the tool I bought, so it gets stuck and you have to pull out the stem or branch. But applied correctly, it works well and holds a charge for longer than I expected.

4-0 out of 5 stars good for branches up to 1/8" thick, not good on grass
It is just not good on grass even though photos on the box show use in
that situation -- doesn't slice but rather chomps through the area and
just will not cut through grass. So, the long handled attachment
accessory with wheels (for trimming and edging) is not useful. The
long handled attachment also is not balanced so even though you have
more reach for taller bushes or areas closer to the ground, you have
to torque both wrists to swing the trimmer around.

However on shrubbery, it shaves well. Think of how you use a hair
trimmer - that is how it trims bushes and shrubs.

It's lightweight and not intimidating as a gas powered model -- my
wife can use it without feeling scared.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the Size
After having used my parents' 2 foot shrubber, and not knowing much about shrubbers, I purchased this one thinking a rechargeable one would beat their plug-in variety. While the cordlessness is a great feature and the thing has an impressive life, I was surprised by the size of this thing. I guess I should've paid more attention to the 6-inch blade description rather than the rechargeable feature. It works great for small shrubs here and there, but for a 7 foot tall bush in the back yard, it is simply adequate. So just be sure you buy the right sized blade. Otherwise, I highly recommend this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lovely little machine
I admit that I don't generally like things with large whirring, sharp blades, but this little guy is light weight, handles well to cut only those plants that need cutting, unlike my very indescriminate weed whacker.

I didn't find the switch too stiff. You do have to put an effort into keeping it down, but that is a safety feature - if you slip, or your hand slips, you won't end up with 'shubbered' fingers. If it is too stiff when you get it, just open up the button and either shorten or compress the spring, but don't tape it down!

For two blissful nights I went out and cut down spent poppies, delphiniums and penstemon(with big tough stems), it cut like a hot knife through butter, to the extent that even my sister (who doesn't venture into the garden normally), wanted a go. The battery lasted considerably longer than half an hour.

Unfortunately, my puppy ate the recharger (the puppy is fine, he discovered the delicacy on the floor where I'd dropped it on the way to the tool cupboard)...I am trying to get a replacement but the customer service at Black and Decker is leaving a bit to be desired (the online parts ordering decided my credit card does not exist and keeps asking me to re enter it), so that's where it loses a star! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars It's a battery
What is there to say about a battery? It takes a charge and it delivers power. This particular model lasts a very long time. The impulse guns must not require much power to operate because these will drive several thousand nails before dying. My only complaint is that they are expensive compared to other batteries . 5-0 out of 5 stars A Real Bonus For Your Tool Kit!
This is one of those tools that you won't use that often, but when you need it you'll thank the stars that you have it. Nothing beats this drill for getting into tight places. It dosn't have the power that many "regular" drills in it's price range have, but it's not a regular drill. This tool has saved me a lot of time and cussing. The drill is tough, dependable, and fits in some very narrow spaces. Whenever I need to drill a hole or drive a screw in cramped quarters this is the tool I reach for. For general purpose use I grab my 3/8" Milwaukee, but for those hard to reach places nothing beats the Makita DA391DW!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing else works
I've had my Makita angle drill for about eight years. I work with crews of eight to ten men and my angle drill has been popular as a borrow tool. Sometimes nothing else works. It has been dropped, over-torqued and just plain worked hard but keeps on ticking. I just replaced my three 9.6 standard drills with new 9.6 ones so I could keep my angle drill in service and keep a standard battery.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price
This is one of the best and most used tools in my shop. I have bigger drills, with more power but always end up grabbing this one to do the job because of its size and convenience. I bought it for close quarters but seems like I just use it for all my drilling of that kind. I'm not saying it will take the place of a big drill in some instant, but for most average work and close quarters it is the drill!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Solid Performer
We use this tool around the shop for drilling rivet holes in thin and some times thick, pre-assembled aluminum sheet. It performs flawlessly for this task. We used two other brands of cordless angle drills; however, they aren't as small and don't have nearly the durability of the Makita. This drill is by no means a "power house" but it is a "workhorse". An added benefit, aftermarket batteries for this tool can be had for a song.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Much Power
I bought this for cabinet installation. In tried to put a 2 1/2 inch screw into the side of a cabinet to connect two wall cabinets. It would not do it. It screwed most of it in, but it woukld not screw the last half inch in. Also I also tried to take out the same size screw that I had put in earlier with a 14 volt regular cordless drill. It could not do it. The Makita angle drill kept popping the built in circuit breaker in the drill, which is a great feature. The other review on this page says it has enough power for what it is designed for. Yes it does if you want to pre drill pilot holes for every screw you set or taking cabinet doors off. But sinking screws in studs is another story. I think an inexpensive corless screw driver would do just about as good a job doing that. I don't recommend this drill at all. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars poor battery performance
I'm now purchasing the third battery for my Porter Cable 9884. The tool has been fine but the battery life is unacceptable. I just purchased another tool (Makita drill driver and battery life has been much superior).

Will not purchase another Porter Cable cordless tool though I have several other Porter Cable tools.

With a price of $85.00 I expect much higher quality.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wish Porter Cable / Delta designers read these reviews
I have been loyal to the Delta and Porter Cable brands all my life. My Dad used these tools when he was a young man starting his own business and said they were reliable "good tools"... Good enough for me. I bought the 19.2 volt combo system and have had 2 batteries fail in 2 years or less and I am just a hobbyist. I bought one battery when the first went bad because you really need 2 batteries. I resent having to pay $85 for another battery but have useless tools without them. They really need to do some thing for their loyal users to regain respect. The tools are good the batteries are junk. I had a 12 volt Panasonic unit for over 8 years and used it extensively prior to getting the Porter Cable. I only replaced it because the batteries finally gave out and replacements cost more than what I paid for the whole drill with 2 batteries. I think it's a plot!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars mediocre performance
I have owned the porter cable combo pack for a couple of years, using it in my construction business. I have had battery performance problems from the begining, particularly with the saws (replaced one charger too) I always felt I was paying the price for getting a good deal on E-bay, although I purchased it new in the box. I came on this site to purchase two new batteries to see if that would solve my problem, but after reading the reviews I am wondering if I should just put that $180.00 toward a new combo set from a different manufacturer. I have always been a Porter-Cable fan but am disappointed with this product. Because of the performance problems, I almost never use the circular or recip saws. Essentially I have a $500.00 hammer drill and flashlight.

4-0 out of 5 stars Porter Cable batteries
I own the porter cable combo pack with the saw boss, tiger saw, hammer drill and flashlight and two batteries. The batteries seem to get the job done with the drill but with the saws, the life of the charge seems alittle short for what they cost, they do charge fast and have alot of power, but for the moderate user, I recommend a third battery, also take extra precaution with the charger as it is not that tough and a few drops to the floor can damage the fuse, that is sodered in. (extremely bad design) should allow the user to be able to replace the fuse .........note mine is only 6 months old too at the time of this review......chad

1-0 out of 5 stars Watch out!
I have owned the saw and drill combo for two years. Love the product performance, but I have to replace one battery of the original two and the second looks to go soon. I just came to reality to the replacement cost...Two new batteries for what I can purchase a new Porter Cable 1 3/4 horse router with plunger base.....
Watch out before you buy the 19.2 volt systems..... ... Read more

Black & Decker's 3.6-volt PowerDriver is perfect for assembling furniture, mounting shelving, changing hardware, or any project where turning a standard screwdriver would be a painstaking process. 4-0 out of 5 stars No Stripping Or Over-Tightening
Let me start out my saying that I love my wife for getting me this as a gift. This is the gift that just keeps on giving.

The Black & Decker 9074TB 3.6 Volt Screwdriver is perfect for any job around the house that would involve the painstaking task of driving in screws. I just finished putting up several shelves in my bedroom, and it has never been easier thanks to this wonderful product.

The automatic spindle lock gives you much better control, allowing for no stripping or over-tightening, or even just for simple, manual use. Its sleak design and narrow nose gives you the ability to get into tight places with great ease.

This is a well-designed product with a super charge life. Besides being durable and fairly lightweight, the wall-mounting charge base should make it a lot easier to find. This screwdriver works extremely well, and will make a fine addition to any tool box.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this thing.
I purchased some inexpensive "assembly required" furniture (coffee table, entertainment center, nightstand, and few other kits). As an afterthought, I purchased this rechargeable screwdriver. I'm glad I did.

Cheaper than a full function drill (and a lot lighter), this screwdriver is small, maneuverable and just what the doctor ordered. No more sore forearms and wrists. So far I've use it to assemble furniture, take apart PC cases, screw down hard drives, add new faceplates for phone jacks, and even drove a few screws into drywall.

When the battery runs out, or you need extra torque, you can lock it into manual and turn it like a regular screwdriver. It is well built and rugged. I highly recommend this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars great for the average do-it-yourselfer
I got this for my spouse and he loved it. Its easy to use, runs as long as he needs for the minor projects and repairs he does. If you are a professional who'd use a tool like this, it won't last nearly as long as you'll need. The target audience should be the average John or Jane who really just wants to make the few times a screwdriver is needed a month less work so things get fixed in a timely fashion.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK - Broke after using TWICE
I received this driver for Christmas, used it twice, and then heard a loud grinding sound. After taking off the drive head, I noticed that two metal posts securing plastic gears had sheared!

By comparison, my Skil driver is going on 10 years!

B&D is JUNK!

3-0 out of 5 stars Useful, sort of.
I used to use a B&D cordless screwdriver, but gave it away when I found it often took as long, or longer to use this tool than using a manual screwdriver. Sure, it's faster when you have a LOT of screws or very long screws, but a cordless drill is faster still, and has the advantage of variable speed and more power. Using this screwdriver to drive long wood screws is an excercise in patience as you watch it sloooowly drive the screw in and then quit halfway as it runs out of power.

Cordless screwdrivers are cheaper than drills, true, but overall I think the classic 7.2volt Makita cordless drill is just about as compact, much more versatile, much more powerful, lasts much longer and will drive a lot more screws on a charge. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Near perfect little drill
As far as drills go, I own and use everything from a 13 amp hole dawg to a full 18 volt cordless system, but this is the one that I like to use the most. It's lightweight, and the battery seems to last forever, which is something I wish I could say about my 18 volt. The drill has excellent balance and the grip feels nice and smooth - no weird contours or diamond textures. The Makita batteries also have the smoothest button release. You really don't have to pinch hard to get the batteries to slide out. The trigger response is good for variable speed. It also has two basic settings for torque or speed and a good reverse/forward/safety switch. I wouldn't use it for heavier tasks like driving long screws, or boring large diameter holes in wood or metal, but then that's why there's higher voltages (i.e. 12, 14, 18, & 24) - isn't life GREAT. A word of caution for first time buyers: always buy quality. There has been a lot of marketing that hypes higher voltage cordless drills. Why get a 9.6 when you can get a 18 volt for the same price? You'll be tempted to go for the "home owner special," but always be aware. I've once used a friend's low-quality "14 volt" drill and I would wager that this little Makita could beat it in every way. And for the first reviewer who was disappointed with this drill, all I can say is sorry Clare, but I think somebody has dropped the drill hard. I should know. I've dropped mine several times, including a couple of times while standing on a 6ft latter. And guess what?? It can be fixed. All I did was open the little guy up and set the motor back into the gear housing. I've done this every time - after a hard drop - and it's easy for the mechanically inclined. Despite the abuse, the drill is still reliable today. My only gripe is that I think Makita should integrate a spare bit holder and give the plastic chuck more grip for hand tightening.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke in a little over a year
Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this product. I waited a long time to be able to afford one, when my old Black&Decker 7volt that I had for years and years finally died after I dropped it. This Makita was used very little, maybe twice a day/a few screws, and that's it. Never dropped or abused, and all of a sudden it just slips, kinda like the clutch is gone or something. I replaced it with a DeWalt. Hope that has a little longer life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for average jobs
I have owned this drill for 5 years and have never had a problem with it. It does lack power on tough screws, but for general work it's hard to beat. It is very light weight and easy to use. My wifes loves it too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great drill with good power
This is a great little drill. I already own 18v and 14.4v Dewalt drills and the Makita is great for the little jobs like locksets and cabinet pulls where the 18v can be too heavy or bulky. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This blade-left, 24-volt circular saw from Bosch offers as much power and cut capacity as you could ask for in a cordless circular saw.It can easily cut regular 1-1/2-inch-thick material at a full 50-degree bevel, and the bevel mechanism has a positive stop at 45 degrees. The saw features tool-free, rear-pivot depth-of-cut adjustments and tool-free bevel adjustments. The wrench for blade changes stores in a clip right on the base. The rear battery configuration on this saw allowed Bosch to give the tool good, even balance while maintaining a nice low profile. We like the padded grip on this saw, too--the same comfortable grip found on all of the company's 24-volt cordless tools--and at only 9.2 pounds, this saw is easy on the arm and hand. The full kit comes with the saw, one 2.4 amp/hr battery, a 1-hour charger, and a carrying bag.--Brian Trinen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Who needs a power cord?
After buying the Bosch 24 volt package, I am now finding dust collecting on my matching corded tools. I have found the reciprocating saw does run down the batteries quicker than the other tools, but I do like the tooless blade changing lever on the reciprocating saw and the jig saw. All the tools are top-notch performers. I love the easy height blade adjustment on the circular saw. It fell 25 feet off a roof and worked just fine after. (lucky for me, this saw is built). I did find out from Bosch that the batteries should be charged when the tool starts slowing down, and should never be run down to nothing, like the old nickle -cadmium batteries that developed a memory. Bosch makes a great product here!

3-0 out of 5 stars Bosch saw
This saw works well for small jobs, but you do have to be careful that you do not bind the saw blade. It is not nearly as powerful as a corded saw.

5-0 out of 5 stars this saw rocks
I have used every cordless saw avaible, and this one comes the closest to replacing it's corded counterpart. My wormdrive still looks new because I only get it out for BIG cutting jobs. I wish the thumb saftey was placed where it could be engaged without contorting my hand (like the Makita) but I bought it for power and precision, and Bosch delivers

5-0 out of 5 stars Throw Away Your Corded Circular Saw
I've had this saw for about 2 years now, and all I can say is WOW!!! I bought this and the drill in the combo pack because I thought the cordless feature would be nice. Little did I realize that I would rarely use my corded saw again. The run time is excellent. I figure you can cut about 100 feet or so of plywood on a single charge. The saw doesn't bog if your cutting thicker stock. I've cut stacks of 7/16" OSB 4 sheets high and the saw didn't bog once. In fact, I've cut into a concrete floor ( accidently ) with this saw and it didn't even stop, and the cut in the concrete was about 3/16" deep by 6" long. And with the blade on the left side makes it that much better. If you're looking at a good cordless saw that will take abuse and has plenty of juice, this is your saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars HEAVYWEIGHT HOMEMAKER MODEL
Anxiously awaited the arrival of this saw. Expected top quality from my experience with other Bosch tools I own. Somebody forgot to tell the designers that a heavy duty saw needs to have a heavy duty handle! The handle on this thing feels like a piece of flexible plastic that belongs on a toy rather than on a power tool! Unfortunately, Bosch says I need to return it if I'm unhappy with it, to Tool Crib. If I do this I need to pay a restocking fee plus the shipping from Hawaii. Live and learn I guess, never buy sight unseen! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bosch Does It Again
I was beginning to wish I had a second cordless drill. Having to change bits frequently is all the more work. With the Bosch Clic system, you just pop the bit in the holder, pull the head back, it clicks and holds your bit. To change, it is intuitive because as you pull the chuck forward it releases the bit as you pull the bit out, all in one motion. Just like putting the bit in, in one sweep. In goes the bit, and the chuck moves back to the click.
Bosch makes several clic change bit styles that work with the system, including self feeding spade bits.
The interesting thing is that the Ryobi bits fit it perfectly as well. I wound up stocking up at the local home center on other bits.
I was building a large outfeed table for the table saw out of red oak. Having to drill countersinks for the screws, and following with a phillips bit to set the screws, all the while clamping and unclamping the joint, made the clic change system the right tool. Saved all kinds of time, not to mention enlongating the battery life of the drill, not having to run it to change the bit fifty times.
The good thing is that the Bosch clic system works without a snag. No hang ups or binding, just smooth consistent changes. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Bit Holder Made
The Bosch Clic-Change bit holder is the result of great design thought. It's small, bits change with a natural hand movement, and the heavy duty shaft doesn't slip. I only wish Bosch made the bit holder available without the hex-shank bits and extras. I'd love to buy several for all my drills and as gifts for friends. Clic-Change makes installing hinges a breeze.

5-0 out of 5 stars What would I do without them?
I purchased these just in time for an entire kitchen's worth of Ikea Cabinets to arrive. I used these EVERY DAY for a month while assembling the cabinets. They are really good and sharp and the quick change feature was invaluable as I was switching them constantly while drilling holes and then attaching 25 handles. I guess it's silly to say you LOVE a drill bit set so lets just say I'm EXTREMELY fond of them instead.

4-0 out of 5 stars accessorize
While the quick, one-handed change is nice, it's still a bit long to handle with a drill that has its weight in the back.
Also, I have yet to find any accessories to complement the set-up, such as a countersink. I hope Bosch keeps putting in their R&D time to give us what we need (and want).

5-0 out of 5 stars Best on the Market
I have used an Insty Bit for the last seven years and I wish Bosch had come out with this much sooner. The one hand operation is great and the assortment of bits has saved me from rumaging through my collection of bits for square drive and phillips screws. The drill bits come in handy as well. I would definitely recommend this to any wood worker. ... Read more
