BATTERIES NOT AVAILABLE
THE UNIT WILL ALARM WHEN THE BATTERY IS ABOUT ONE YEAR OLD. IT'S PLUGGED INTO 110 VOLTS AND WILL STILL TELL YOU THE BATTERY IS BAD, EVEN WHEN IT HAS POWER. THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT THE THING OFF IS TO UN-PLUG IT. BATTERIES ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, VERY POOR MANUFACTURE FOLLOW-UP WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNIT TO ANY ONE.

Recommended
This is the brand the guy from the gas company recommended. It works well and has an easy-to-read display. I am buying another one for another part of my house.

It's OK but didn't work at first
When first plugging the unit in inside the house I had a problem with resetting it and getting the level to read zero (with several attempts). I thought I might have a carbon monoxide in the house at first but took the unit outside and plugged it in in the garage and it reset to zero with no problem. After moving it back inside the house I plugged it in and now it works just fine. I still don't know why it [messed] up at first or mabey if I didn't do something right, but it was very frustrating. The good news is that it appears to work great now.

CO Detector False Alarms
I have had this detector for a few years and it has worked flawlessly. I have always had very low CO readings in my house since it is 75 years old now. Recently, my wife while in the house, was talking on her Cellular Phone, and walked within 5 feet of this detector, and it set off the detector and caused the detector to generate false readings from the radiation that the Cell Phone was producing. She actually saw the display, displaying a series of random numbers, as she was talking on her cellular phone. We also have 900MHz cordless phones in the house and these do not appear to affect the detector.

Every floor of your house should have one!
One reviewer questioned if these really work... YES they do! I had a new furnace installed recently, and the installers made a mistake. Without detectors in the house I might never have known, and my family could have suffered greatly (ie somebody could have become ill or even died!).

We had had them for years and they ALWAYS read 0. When we started seeing it detect CO we knew we had a problem. Occasional low readings (such as near your kitchen on Thanksgiving if you have a gas stove) are ok, but any consistant reading is cause for real concern particularly if it is away from any known source of CO (stove, fireplace, etc).

I strongly reccomend folks place a detector on each occupied level of your home. If something happens you may very well get different readings on different levels (I did).

When selecting a CO detector be sure to pick an electornic one with a digital readout. They cost more, but are well worth it. The only maintenance with a unit like this one is replacing the backup battery. (BTW, a backup battery is a really good idea. Each year many folks die because they used various types of gas heating devices during power outages with inadequate ventalation.) Also, the digital readout will help track down problems envolving lower levels of CO and may give you earlier warning of a malfunctioning heating system.

Finally, this particular unit has an advantage in that it can be placed directly over an outlet, or the included power cord can be used to allow higher wall mounting or placement on a table/shelf/etc. ... Read more

Easy to set up, but cable signal degrades
Unlike many power-strips/surge protectors I've bought in the past, the APC model PF11VT3 is well designed to accomodate all types of transformer plugs and regular power cords.The "Pivoting Strain Relief" cable makes it very convenient to set up in tight places and the cord management clip does a very nice job of keeping cords orderly.This review comes after only about 3 weeks owning so it's too early to see if the surge protection works (it may be working without me knowing it). I haven't hooked it up to a phone line, so no comment there.My one disappointment came when I hooked my coaxial cable up to the unit. My internet signal degraded to the point where I had to remove it and hook it back up directly to the cable modem. Heavier gauge = more power!
Unlike the less expensive extension cords that are 14 or 16 guage, this one is 12 guage. This important aspect allows you to draw 20 amps of current to opperate your favorites tools without overheating the cord. Remember to plug it into a 20 amp outlet and you'll be able to utilize the the heavier gauge cord for what it was designed for.

Great Quality at a Great Price
This is a must for anyone who works in the yard. The quality is second to none. I use mine on a daily basis and have had NO problems. Excellent extension cord
Have you had trouble with your tools overheating when using them on a long extension cord? Then you need to get a heavy duty, large conductor cord like this one. I really like mine. The power light is also a very handy feature if you sometime tax the GFI outlet a bit too much and want a quick check to see if the cord is still getting power. I have a computer that demands full power at all times and with my old 1566 joule surge protector, it could'nt keep up. Nice digital timer at a nice price
I just bought 2 of these timers, and both had instructions on how to set it up. It took all of 5 ninutes to get both up and running. I am using them for my lights on my reef aquarium.

Great product.BUT needs better manual
This thing has tons of power for its price.20 on off functions allows lots of projects.I use it on my hot water heater with a $11 relay.So, for $35 I have $140 timer.I love these things.

This will help out people without the manual
I didnt have the manual for this product and was about to toss it. It is that un-intuitive. But.. my co-worker found the manual. For people struggling with this sucker, hold down the 'set' button for 3 seconds to access the main setup options. After setting the time, then setup the on-off timers the same way.

Looks great, but does it do anything?
Another product with no instructions or manual, I guess we are just supposed to plug it in and hope for the best! This product is not very intuitive, very difficult to determine if the programming is correct.

Not bad...
I've always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to battery chargers. And while this charger doesn't monitor the temperature of the battery as it charges, it certainly manages a good job nonetheless.

Recently I noticed dwindling capacity from the battery in my 2001 Audi S4 Avant ... go figure, it's been cold out in Michigan lately and this is the stock battery that has suffered several complete discharges on accident. Being a non deap-cycle design, letting it sit dead for 24 hours or more at a time is murder on it's lifespan. Its capacity was down to about 25% measured with a state of the art battery tester.

I had the choice of either purchasing a new battery- ~$90 my cost, or buying this charger for $50 at a local Wal-Mart. Not having a good multi-stage charger presently (My prized yuasa charger died a year ago)- I inspected this one carefully. It's "reconditioning" feature drew my curiosity.. and knowing I could return it if it didn't work, I figured what the heck.

My old battery now is up to 80% capacity after 48 hours of reconditioning. It does take a while, each cycle takes 24 hours beyond a normal charge. But, I'm impressed. This isn't some lame surface charge or slow trickle charge, it actually desulfated some of the plates on my battery.

Pros- small, lightweight, heavy gauge clamps and wires. Internal variable speed cooling fan and switching power supply exhibit proper battery charger construction.

Cons- too light. The wires weigh more than it does almost, so it's very easy to 'pull' the charger off of whatever you set it on, possibly making it fall to the ground and damaging it.

Summary: The packaging has a hailstorm of technical information that most buyers aren't going to read, including screenshots from a Fluke scopemeter showing waveform generation comparisons. I think most Wal-Mart buyers are going to look at the $50 pricetag and buy the el-cheapo $19.99 5/50A analog charger and move on, making this excellent product eventually dissapear due to lackluster sales. DW-911 poor radio fair charger
I have had a DW-911 for several years and wish I had never purchased it. It charges batteries okay but only if the radio is turned on which is inconvenient if you want your battery to charge overnight. The radio is almost useless inside a building unless you are working beside the radio station you want to listen to. As one reviewer wrote the best thing you can do to improve radio reception is to throw away the antenna and put a length of copper wire in the antenna hole. I have talked to DeWalt twice and they admit they have a problem, but don't have any plans to do anything about them. That kind of response is very bothering to me since I used to consider DW a top of the line manufacturer. If you need a charger buy a charger. If you need a radio buy a boom box. If you want a neat looking black and yellow box that looks like a radio buy a DW-911.

Very nice addition to my work days
This is a great radio and charger. Sound is good for such a tough box. I have ruined many radios over the years, yet I hope to have this one for awhile. It charges my batteries or runs on them, which I like alot. The reception is good in my area and I can adjust the station or the volume without taking off my gloves (the digital tuner on the Milwalkie unit requires you to remove your gloves to make adjustments). I also use the auxillary jack to plug my MP3 player into and enjoy many hours of commercial free tunes. My only complaint is that the battery does not charge if the unit is plugged in but turned off. To get around this I switch the dial to "aux" instead of 'off" Overall a very nice unit.

Can you spell J U N K?
If you intend to bounce this radio down the street then you picked the right one but for listing purposes forget it! JUNK! I've bought radios at the 99 cent store that have better reception than this battery charger with a roll bar. Your workers will spend more time trying to find a station than working on their project. Unless you're in a situation where you need to defend your life by beating someone to death with this radio... make another choice!

reception not good
i used to have the milwaukee job site radio until it grew legs so figured id try dewalts job site redio.the milwaukee sounds better it has digital tuning, equalizer,digital clock and overall a better redio for the same price as dewalt.

Useful Product
Very useful item to have around. However, the tuning dial is difficult to fine tune. If you can tune in a station it sounds pretty good, but it is not easy to do. Would be much better if it used digital tuning. A CD player would also be nice, but I can understand why you wouldn't want one in a rough and tumble product like this. Overall great product. ... Lil powerhouse
This inverter version of Yamaha's 1000 watt generator is great. It is super quiet, super light and seems to run forever on a tank of gas. I don't really understand this "inverter" technology, but it is obviously the future for generators. Apparently this generator has a "brain" and gears up or down to only produce the amount of power called for. It is really cool. I also have Yamaha's bigger inverter model, the 2800 watt. We had 2 screwguns, a 500 watt light and a radio on the 2800 watt and it was barely breaking a sweat. This 1000i is the little brother to that great generator.
