Buy it, Use it
I've purchased two of these.

I'm a small contractor who does many non-structural remodeling jobs. I've been in construction for 15 years and have used many tools and many extension cords.

Since 12 guage cords are commonly available that is primarily what I've used in the past. My experience has been that most of my higher power tools do not run as well on them (even 25 foot cords) as they do when plugged directly into the wall. With the 10 guage cord I can no longer tell the difference.

My 15 amp chop saw, my worm drive saw and my 8 1/2 inch sliding miter saw all run perfectly with the 50 foot extension. I am even able to run my 1 1/2 horsepower Emglo compressor through a 25 foot length. I was never able to do this before -- the compressor was very fussy and I had never been able to use any kind of extension cord with it until I moved to 10 guage. ... Read more

Best Clean power/Surge protector for under $100
This is a great value for a power cleaner/surge protector under $100. This will clean dirty electricity better than pieces in the hundreds of dollars in other brands, for a better picture and better sound. It also protects against cable spikes with it's coax protection. Not only are the color coded outlets nice to look at, they also help to correctly unplug the home theatre component you were looking for. Try and find something like this with an 1850 Joule rating, that has a lifetime replacement warranty. When your tv blows up from a lightning hit, don't say I didn't warn you. I bought 4 of these for all my tv's!! I recommend these to all!

It Has A Phone Jack Sujo
I own this powercenter. It's great and performs better than my "Tripp" IT HAS A PHONE JACK. I don't know why Target would publish a review from someone who obviously can't figure out which model he/she bought. Unfortunately for Monster ... they did. A happy Monster purchaser and convert who has experienced the "Monster Difference".

I've Got The Power!
Works great----Not sure if I'll ever need the surge protection...but it's nice knowing my gear is protected. The extra long, flexible power cord and color-coded outlets with labels are very convienent. Well worth the 50 bucks.

Not worth it's cost
I admit,this is a nice "looking" power strip and it will work just fine with your electronics equipment,but you can get the same quality in a surge power strip for half the price of this one.With Monster Cable products,it seems that 50% of the product's price is in the way it "looks",not what it actually "does".

Good Warning System
After having our basement flood, we purchased this product. This product has done a good job of letting us know of any impending problems. It will not make the problem go away but is a great warning device. It is small and inconspicous. It works basically like a smoke detector but for water. The only requirement is that the device must come in contact with the offending water. We have placed ours in the sump pump pit on a ledge instead of outside the pit on the floor because by then it would be too late:)

a useful product
I own a few Zircon 64003 Water Detectors and I'm glad I bought them. Plainly put they work and each are as loud as a smoke detector so if one goes off it could wake you. (if you had a flood during the night like I did).

A few things to note the alarm won't go off unless the sensor gets wet so positioning of the device is important. Put it where you expect water to pool or to flow or in the case of a sump pump or well put it inside so that you can get a warning before the water over flows. Also the device floats so you might want to anchor or tether it down.

For an unmonitored water detection system it works pretty well. $.. is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Think about how much damaged a small flood could cause if left unnoticed...

Can be invaluable in preventing damage, and calming nerves.
When we bought our home, we had a short in a sump pump in a false wall in our basement. Therefore, we used this product to alert us when water, from heavy rain, would begin coming in. We used this product until we found the source of the problem and had it fixed. Another example was an 83-year-old paranoid stepmother who had rainwater seeping under her basement door onto her unfinished basement. Even though this trickle of water sloped directly to, and down a drain she obsessed about it. Therefore, we bought her a couple of these until we could build a "lip" and stop the "problem." It stopped the midnight phone calls. Amen! Now, with some fore thought we placed them next to her washer and stationary tub. As for the below poor review concerning humidity setting off the alarm in Wisconsin basements, his point is well taken considering the nearby Great lakes and the use of dehumidifiers in the times I spend up there.

Effective and Inexpensive
I purchased three of these water alarms three years ago after I woke up with seven thousand dollars in damage when a washing machine hose sprang a leak in the middle of the night. I am now ordering five more, one to go under every sink in my house, after a sneaky leak under an unguarded sink cost me $600 in plumbing and cabinet repairs.

The detector could not be simpler in concept. There are two metal contacts approximately a quarter inch apart on the bottom of the unit. When water bridges the contacts the alarm sounds and sounds. You shut the alarm off by drying the contacts with a cloth. I have tested the unit by simply wiping a counter with a wet cloth and setting the unit on the wet table. There is only a thin film of water on the table, but the unit sounds the alarm. I have also found that the manufacturer's claim of a two-year life for a standard nine-volt alkaline battery is conservative.

Other uses: Everyone with an aquarium in the house needs one of these babies at the rear of the aquarium stand. I had one in place at my aquarium and it prevented some real damage when a filter developed a leak.

Fluke's going downhill
I've owned several Fluke instruments including several of their DMM's dating back a few decades.The 189 looks great on paper, but it's as if it's designed by a whole different company from the Fluke 87 (their previous flagship portable DMM).Given that Fluke sold out to Philips, it might be the 189 is just a Philips meter in yellow and grey Fluke Drag.I don't know.The 189 is notably more difficult to use in many ways than previous Fluke models.

The new advanced features can be rather tough to figure out without the manual.At this price they should have put a real graphic display on this meter that could display some english prompts.Instead, they try to use the 5 digit 7 segment display to prompt you for things and it's VERY cryptic.Do you know what "L int" or "FctY" mean?Better hope you remember where you put the manual.

The range switching is annoying.With varying signals, the 87 did a good job of quickly jumping ranges.The 189 loses its composure briefly and blanks the display as it jumps around making following a variable signal annoying unless you manually lock in a given range.

When the 189 goes to sleep (which it does every 15 minutes by default) there's only ONE way to get it wake back up (besides cycling the power).You have to press the yellow shift key.The old 87 would wake up at the press of any button or by selecting a different mode.This is minor, but why make it harder to use than the previous models?Especially for those of us used to pressing the blue key to wake up the previous meters?

You'd also think in a decade with modern CMOS technology that power consumption would have gone down?I have to put a small 9 volt battery a year in my 10 year old Fluke 87.The 189 eats 4 AA's (which have a much higher watt/hour capacity and should far outlive a 9 volt) in a matter of months.Another step backwards.

It's also bigger than the 87 and you cannot remove the protective "caddy" as it's part of the meter.It's the largest modern portable DMM I've ever seen which isn't a plus if you really do want it to be portable.

Yes, it does perform logging, reads in dB, has great accuracy specs and finally has the other features that you can get from most any other brand for a tiny fraction of the price.It seems to meet its specifications, it's just more annoying to use and more expensive than it needs to be.

The bottom line: I still use my Fluke 87 about 99% of the time and only use the 189 in those rare 1% of instances it does something the 87 doesn't.I regret buying it.If you don't need something it does that other meters don't you might regret buying one too--especially if you're used to Fluke's previous generation products. ...
