Milwaukee tough
The concept looks so simple that I wondered why no one had thought of this before. It wasn't until I received this set, that I realized how complex these bits are.

There are several cutting surfaces on each bit that allows the bit to guide through the wood with ease. Even the angled holes that they advertise. These have become my number one boring bits.

I should have ordered the 5 piece set to begin with, as I have already ordered the 2 that this set does not come with. I hope Milwaukee will make some larger sizes as well.

Anyone who runs electrical or plumbing lines through framing will find these indispensable. Especially those odd hard to reach runs, in corners, around columns and supports, or anywhere you need to bore a hole. ... Read more

It's unfortunate that calling a new product "revolutionary" has become such an advertising cliché, because Milwaukee's new Pathfinder bit is, in fact, exactly that. Designed to replace a standard spade bit, the Pathfinder has six cutting edges, which allow it to cut up to three times faster than the old spade bit. But what's truly impressive--and, we don't mind saying, revolutionary--about the Pathfinder bit is its ability to drill curved holes up to 90 degrees. Electricians, remodelers, and anyone else who needs to drill an irregularly shaped hole will love these bits, which enable you to route wire, conduit, and tubing in tight spaces or while turning a corner. Pathfinder bits can also cut quick mortises: the Pathfinder cuts wood, composites, chipboards, plasterboard, and hard plastics, leaving a clean, slightly dimpled hole that's more like a forstner bit's than a spade bit's. Great Product, Goofy reviewer!
I just had something to say to the confused individual that complained of not having enough information letting him know which bits comprise this 5 piece Pathfinder set. The bits included in this kit are clearly stated in the Features portion describing the product, and if he'd take a moment to go to Amazon's section where you can "Browse Brands and Products", then look at Milwaukee's offerings, he can easily see exactly which sizes are available in the Pathfinder type drill bit. So, don't screw up the review of the product with a foolish complaint that has no merit, nor does the complaint have anything to do with the quality or usefullness of the product. What, you only gave it three stars because you couldn't figure out what everyone else can, the sizes of bits included in the kit? If you wish to do a product review, then please do just that so folks like me, who are trying to find the best drill bits for particular applications can do just that as well.

Fortunately, I didn't rely on that foolish review and purchased the bits anyway and am darned glad I did. They work exactly as described and drill a perfectly tight and clean hole. Plus, the ability to change the angle of the hole with the bit already halfway into the piece of wood is a great feature and one that you end up using more than you'd think. At any rate, buy these darned things you won't regret it.

good bits not great.
I spent the extra money on these bits based on the adverising,
(always gets me) and they are pretty good. I have not got them to do any of the wild things the picture show like channeling or angled holes but they are faster than spade bits and definetely make a cleaner hole.

If you are going thru soft woods like the furs they will drill
alot of holes, redwood and harder they last no longer than a spade bit and although you can resharpen them I never got the like new results.

for the money I am happier with auger bits or forstner bits evan
throw away spade bits are a better value hole per hole.

if they drop the price on these I would really praise them but for the money I'm just not that impressed.

Pathfinder Bits
Reviewing Product it would be nice if the sizes were listed when you show a 5 piece bit set.I keep searching other ways to get sizes and its frustrating not being able to find

These little bits are simply amazing. I saw them at a demonstration last week and they blew my socks off. They were designed to take the place of spade bits. With six cutting edges on each bit, they are 2 to 3 times faster than a traditional spade bit. The cutting edges allow you to turn 90 degree holes (you have to see it to believe it). You can cut a channel to recess wire, counterbore, cut a quick mortisse, and resharpen the edges with a file or grindstone if they get dull. Nothing like it on the market.
