I'll give it four stars
Its a nice heater it heats the room quickly although I do wish it had a quieter fan speed. I gave it four stars because it doesn't have a safety tip-over switch. The controls are easy enough for me to figure out. The best thing about this heater is I've had it for 3 or 4 years (give or take) and it still works perfectly.

Great Personal Heater
I've had this unit for several days and I could not be more pleased.The range of features meets a variety of needs and the remote is quite handy.This heater quickly heated my room and it operates very quietly.Turning the unit on and off was a little confusing at first because the power button also switches between hi and low heat levels.If you take a few minutes to read the brief instructions you shouldn't have any problems.

Difficult
Overall, this unit comes up short. The nice feature is the remote, but this is where it fails. The user sets a specific room temperature, and once the unit reaches this temp., it shuts off. Then when temp. drops 2 degrees below set temp., it comes back on, bringing room temp. back up to set temp. (like a furnace operates). The problem is, the only way to shut it off is unplug it every night if it is at set temp.(because neither remote nor unit power switch will power it up at this point). If left plugged in, it will just come back on when it gets cool again (at this point only, it can be shut off).The product should really have a manual on/off rocker switch in addition to the front panel power switch to shut it off permanently at the end of the night. ... Like other reviews, it is just too loud
It does what it is supposed to do - push air... and this it does quite well. Unfortunately, I bought this fan to use at work and the noise is just way too much. At three feet away and pointing away from me, clients on the phone asked me if I was in some sort of tunnel. The noise prevents this fan from being desirable. Like other reviewers mentioned, it would work great if used as combination fan / sound machine.

Fantastic
I bought the latest model, which has a thermostat in it's base. It has an electronic, single push-button thermostat that can be set at 60, 65, 70, 75, or 80 room temp. Has green lights under each temp setting, and red lights for high and low. Thermostat is very accurate! You can use low speed with thermostat, high speed with thermostat, or just low and high speed always on. This fan is small, un-obtrusive, and has oscillation and tilt. I have used this fan for 2 nights now, and it's great for the bedroom. You select your temp, set it on low, and forget it. If your room falls below temp selected, it turns off. If it warms up again, it comes back on! Moves lots of air on low! High speed is not for sleeping! Quite a bit of wind sound on high. Low speed will cool a 14' x 16' living room. Fan is quiet on low speed.

It does circulate a lot of air and keep me cool.I like this feature. But it sounds like a jet engine,just matches its name--blizzard.I dare not set it on high or even medium,because I am afraid of waking up my roommate adjoining.

Definately a needed add on..
If you are buying the Mr. Buddy Heater, this hose (or the 5' model) are definately needed. By using the larger (20lb or bigger) tanks you have many more hours of operation without having to change the disposable tanks. This hose will also allow you to use bulk tanks with any propane appliance that accepts the disposable tanks (stoves, lantern, etc.).

Almost a required upgrade
I bought this hose because I wanted to maximize the safety, usefulness and economy of the Propane Buddy heater by Mr Heater. You can't go wrong buying this hose!

1. It allows the use of a larger LP tank (I have a 20 lb cylinder). I am certain the savings from buying LP fuel in bulk will pay for the hose.
2. You can locate the bulk tank a good distance away from the lit heater. I use the heater primarily in my garage, and with the hose I can put the heater up on a shelf or on the workbench, off the floor, and still have the bulk tank in a convenient and safe spot.

First Rate!
I purchased the Vornado AQS35 in December 2003, and have no regrets! Our home is quite small, and this unit services the living room, dining room and study (in its entirety, an open,L-shaped area approximately 250 square feet).I chose the Vornado AQS35 because of its square-footage cleaning capacity, and especially for its small footprint.It's a good-looking machine that fits well in our tiny house!I haven't read any of the recent reviews (there were not many when I purchased it), but I would like to address some of the complaints I remember reading.#1:It's loud.(?) O.K., I've never had one before so I have nothing to compare it to.I hear it when it's on, I also notice when it's off.Put it right next to the television or a stereo speaker and likely you'll be fine.I have mine on the highest setting right now (quick-clean, #5), and I can hear the dog's tags and the cat's bell from the farthest place in the house (they're in the kitchen, drinking spilled milk)!#2:The HEPA filter doesn't last long and is expensive to replace.One of the things I looked at before I purchasedthe Vornado was the cost of replacement filters.Yes, they are all expensive.I'd say it was around the middle or the lower end of the pack as far as filter replacement cost goes.I'd suggest shopping around.I just replaced the original HEPA filter today (after 10 months of non-stop usage).The filter replacements I researched ranged from $45 USD - $69 USD (most were closer to $69).I ended up purchasing the replacement filter for just under $58 (shipping included).I have no problem with the cost, or the life of the HEPA filter.I use the vacuum on the pre-filter once or twice a month, and it's UNBELIEVABLE how much hair and dust accumulate on that!Remember, small house and a couple pets and three people.I don't know that Vornado recommends vacuuming the pre-filter, but I do it, and I bet it extends the life of the HEPA (at least a bit).#3: The rubber bands used to hold in the filter and pre-filter are flimsey.Well, yes they are.They haven't snapped yet, but I'm sure I'll replace them soon.A heavy-duty band would be nice, but it's not essential to the main purpose of the unit itself.I've got a number of ideas about how to replace it when it DOES go.All in all, this is a great machine!It looks good, does its job well and unobtrusively.I'm not breathing in all that hair and dirt and dusting has become way less frequent.A definate buy as far as I'm concerned!

Great for baby's rooms!!!
Not only has this product been awesome to use a) for a quick 10-minute stint in the bathroom to get the bleach smell out after cleaning b) to clear the smoke out of the living room when "Daddy forgot to open the flue in the chimney", but because it does make some noise, a nice white noise, it's been perfect in the nursery and kid's room in a small house as it blocks out outside noise and that means Mommy and Daddy don't have to get up in the middle of the night or make naptime rescues, so it is well worth it!

It's also nice that I bought my first on back in 2000 and they still make the same model so my filters for the old one and new one I just bought are all the same size etc.!

Last, it seems to catch just about everything, so put your dust rags away for good!!!

Don't forget to take it on vacation too!

i've been a heavy smoker and my room stinks to a point that even myself can't stand the smell anymore. consider i already have a vornado fan and heater, and both work really well, so when i think of a air cleaner, the first brand i think about is this one. i totally love it and it works fantastic for me, just one nite use and my room already smell much cleaner and i can tell the air is much freasher. it might be a bit noisey for certain people, but to me the noise is very acceptable except the highest setting, i have no problem sleeping when the machine is on all nite at setting "3". i'm so glad to have it and feel sorry for those people didn't like it.

Wait ... I'm not sniffly any more!
I bought this HEPA filter after reading other positive reviews about it.I had previously tried a Honeywell filter but found it too big and loud.

This filter is still pretty big.(It's much bigger than it looked -- to me -- in the picture on Amazon.)But it's lightweight, easy to move, and can be pushed up against a wall without compromising function.

INITIALLY, I was disappointed with the filter. Most of the reviews I'd read made it sound like a miracle had occurred the morning after they plugged the filter in.I woke up the morning after having used the product's "Quick Clean" feature and running it all night, and I didn't find that my whole world had changed.It wasn't until a few weeks later that I suddenly realized that I had quit sniffling all the time and so had my two roommates (who are allergic to my cat).So in my case, the relief was more gradual than for others, but in the end, the thing WORKS.

About the noise level: I leave the filter running all the time on either the first or second settings (out of five).On these settings, it's more quiet than my fan, and while I can still hear it, it's pleasant white noise.The fifth setting -- "Quick Clean" -- is intended for short and powerful cleaning and is pretty loud.Fortunately, I've only had to use it twice.(Once for the initial cleaning and once when my roommate cooked some fish that stunk up the whole apartment.)

I recommend this filter, but keep in mind that the improvement in your air quality may not be drastic immediately.Be patient and give it some time to work. I guess (fortunately!) my allergies just weren't as bad as others.

Honeywell is bad news.
I purchased the Honeywell warm-mist humidifier in December 2004.The machine died after 20 days.We only ran it at night and it worked fine until it died.The warranty is for five years.However, it costs $10 for a repair service fee in addition to the cost of shipping it to Massachussetts.After all that I may as well buy another humidifier.This time another brand.

So far so good
Pros -
Quiet.I have it right next to my bed.Other than the occasional blurb (water bubble), it's very quiet.

Remote is useful.No need to get out of bed to turn it on.

No filter to buy.Easy to clean.

Room for Improvement -
The humidity meter is useless.It started at 20%, and kept it at 20%-25% after a whole night on high.The room is only 12 by 12, so it has to be wrong.This also means, my humidifyer will never turn itself off, because I set it to 60%.

I think the meter is measuring what's on the floor level.I have hard wood floor, maybe that's why?

The LCD display is impossible to read when humidifyer is placed on floor.You have to kneel down to read.

First few time, the vapor has a weird smell.

Cons -
It's not really 3 gallons.On high, it'll run for about 5-6 hours only.On low, it'll run for about 10 hours.

Not easy to change water.You have to pull the container out, then flip it over to fill it, and flip it back to put it in.Seniors may not have the strength to do it.

When water run out, it just blinks with the RESET icon.It doesn't shut itself off.And after a couple weeks, I cannot press the RESET button to reset it.I have to unplug / replug the power.It also started a burnt smell, which worries me.

Works for me
Have had this unit for almost 2 years.Love this unit and planning to buy another because I've moved into a bigger place. I've not had any problems with it whatsoever.

Features I like about this unit:
-- the tank lasts a good 7-8 hours at the high level so I turn it on before I go to sleep and don't have to wake up and refill in the middle of the night.
-- almost maintenance free.I only have to wash it once every year (after winter) before storing for the next winter.I've seen another review where more washings may be necessary (probably due to hard water).
-- no filters to use (cool mist humidifiers require this).This is probably a personal preference but I don't like the idea of spending $$ to buy filters.

What I don't like about the unit:
-- humidity gauge is useless/unreliable.At first I tried using the humidity gauge to control the unit's operation but soon I find it to be in accurate.What I do now is let it run till the tank runs out, or use the timer.
-- this unit is extremely quiet, except for the occasional gurgling when the water through the tank.

Both things I don't like about are really minor (to me) or I wouldnt' have kept it.But they are the same reasons I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Broke After a Week
I've had my humidifier for only a week and it is already broken. I ran it once a day or so until it was empty. Then one morning I checked on it to find that it was off. It just shut down on it's own and I can't get any power.

Stop working after one winter
Worked for one winter. And this year after using it twice it stopped working. Right now it can't be turned on and once it's plugged in the digital display just blinks. Called www.kaz.com and I have to pay $30 to cover the cost for shipping to have it fixed.

By the way, my friend got the same unit a week after I got mine.
Her unit is acting the same way now....Does that mean they have really good 'Quality Control' ??

I have the older version that is functionally identical to the current version (they replaced the L-bolt that holds the heater on the tank with a ribbed knob on the new version). I love it for taking the morning chill off the house in the morning. I keep it in the kitchen and fire it up first thing on a cold morning. After about 30 minutes the chill is off not only the kitchen but the adjacent master bedroom and living rooms.

Be cautious - like any unvented heater it can be dangerous if you try to heat an unvented space for any length of time.

It is economical to use and even more so if you are able to find a local propane tank refiller. If you are forced to exchange the tank, it can cost [$$$]. If you have the tank refilled it will only cost [$$$].

My heater was given to me, used, and I liked it so much I gave one to my sister to use when she didn't want to burn the fireplace. I am now going to buy a newer one for the house, and relegate the older on out to my workshop.
