Not only it is very difficuly to setup the support service representatives have no incentives to help you. Be aware!

Could not get wireless working
Great features for the price.Image quality is so-so but is as advertised.It worked great when using a wired connection.When I tried to connect using my AirportExtreme it was a no go.I tried everything.Removing security.Renaming the network.All I got was a flashing yellow light which makes trouble shooting pretty hard.Panasonic support tried to help but nothing worked.It is being returned.

Works fine on a Mac
Panasonic doesn't support it, but this camera, and all Panasonic Netcams, work fine with a Mac.To view full motion video, you must use Netscape or Firefox.Safari and IE will only allow you to view fixed images.No add-ons or active-x or other such nonsense is needed with Netscape or Firefox.The video just works.

As for setup, you will have to set this (and other Panasonic Netcams) up with a broswer, not with the automatic setup CD that works with windows.It's not difficult.Configure your Mac to use the built in Ethernet connection only, configured manually to IP address 192.168.0.5, subnet 255.255.255.0. Connect an ethernet cable between your Mac and the Camera (with a modern Mac any cable will do, with older ones you'll need a crossover cable.) Then access the camera at the address specified deep in the documentation (for this camera it's 192.168.0.253).The first time in you'll be asked to select a username and password.Do that and then you'll have full access to the setup utilities where you can change IP addrerss, DCHP, and other parameters.You can also setup the excellent free viewnetcam.com service and give your camera a real internet name.This is my third Panasonic Netcam, and I've been very pleased with them all.

Not good on a Mac!
First, I will say that this camera is great!The image is clear even in low light, and we found it pretty easy to set up with our Linksys wireless router.I did have a few questions and had an excellent experience with their customer service number--both times I got someone immediately who told me what to do.

However, customer service told me that this camera will not stream video to a Mac!The next best option is to have the image refresh every 3 seconds.It is better than nothing, but I felt mislead from the info provided on Amazon.It works great on our PC, though.

Good value, reasonable image
I have had my BL-C30A for about 2 weelks and overall I am satisfied with the performance. I agree with the reviewer who said image was not adequate for detailed surveilance. I would suggest you go to: http://www.securityideas.com/securitycam/demos.html to view and work an actual camera. I pretty well knew what I was getting. I use my camera as a weather cam and it is C+/B- for this purpose. Wireless setup and Internet access were quite simple, thanks to a good instruction manual. Three features that would have been nice are zoom, focus, and a date/timestamp on the images. I really didn't want to spend the additional money to get these features. I wrote an email to Panasonic regarding lack of a date/timestamp and got an automated reply 2 weeks later that didn't even address the question, let alone answer it, so D- for technical support. Full featured and worth every penny
Ok... so I did some research for IP cameras and I ended up buying the Panasonic. To my surprise, it performed above and beyond my expectations for a camera in this price range. You can setup remote viewing and even control it remotely. I tested the remote viewing in Switzerland and it worked beautifully. A bit slow on the refresh, but it was half way around the world.

I haven't tried multiple cameras but I will soon.

Excellent Camera, Excellent Value.
I purchased this network camera to keep an eye on our cats while we were vacationing and just to check in on the house.I was very pleased by the quality and ease of use the camera has.

Setting up the camera was very easy and I had no problems.

The camera's clarity is incredible for its price range, considering that it also pans and scans (with great range of motion).

Speaking to clarity, when the camera moves in any direction, the motors makes a little noise...Not obnoxious or anything, but curious cats had to come check it out each time we moved it while away.Using the snapshot ability on the camera, we got some of the best pictures of the 'kids' we've gotten from any camera when we were there in person.

The camera worked flawlessly - what a great way to ease your mind if you have good internet access where the camera is and where you'll be.

Highly recommended... I'm writing this review because I'm back to order another for different part of the house. :-)

Great product
Just received my camera. Setup was a breeze.
I have not yet used the Dynamic IP service from Panasonic, but I think it will work fine as any other service of this type.

The automatic PnP function did not work trying to configure my Linksys router. A minor nuance if you do not know how to setup your router.

Image quality is very good, but not excelent. The camera has a little trouble working on the white balance, but the provided controls on the browser application let you adjust, so no problem here either. Again, image quality is way above webcams, better that other network cams on the price range, but below than higher ticket net cams.

A nice feature is that you can set up to 4 positions (there are five already preset: camera corners and home position), so you can easly go from checking the door to the desk, etc. in one single mouse click.

Althoug it is designed to be set on a fixed position, on my tests I hooked up to a mini-tripod. By accident, I pull the network cord making the camera fell to the hard floor from about 5 feet. Nothing happened to it.

For the price, it is a highly recomendable PAN/TILT Camera.

Not too shabby...
I am not an expert on webcams but I have done a lot of research.My main computer is a Windows XP machine but I wanted to view webcam images on my Mac Powerbook and cell phone.First of all, the price is right, about half the cost of a Toshiba camera I was thinking about.Set up was automatic with my Linksys router.Image quality is good and has several settings.It has some nice features that are easy to use.You have to play with the confusing buffer/transfer/email settings for a while so you don't get overloaded with email.Motion is often blurry.For Mac users, Safari and IE will not work on your free Panasonic web page.Firefox will.On my i500 Palm Smartphone, WebPro browser doesn't work but Blazer will.It works great with Snappermail too.So far, I am happy with my purchase even though it doesn't have sound, wireless, or weather resistance. ... Toshiba's IK-WB01A is a disgrace!!
I am extremely disappointed with this camera. The manual is written in very poor English which I had a hard time deciphering and it doesn't explain some basic operations. I cannot imagine how Toshiba managed to get the best geeks in Japan to develop this camera but they couldn't get a professional translator to write up a manual in English. I know that most of their customer's speak English, so this doesn't make any sense.

In addition, their website has several non-functional links. The links to download manuals, documentation or obtain support are all dead. The main page is http://www.toshiba.com/taisisd/netcam/support/support_index.htm but try clicking on the "customer support" links and you go nowhere.

Last but not least, this camera doesn't seem to be able to record any video unless you purchase additional software fro about $40. This is absurd, especially for an expensive $200 camera like this. The video recording software is called NWREC01 and I had to do some research just to find out that I needed this software in order to record.

All this reflects very poorly on Toshiba and I will try to avoid all Toshiba products from now on.

Good camera but somewhat misleading for motion detection
I was looking for a wireless pan/tilt security type camera that includes low light (for seeing outside at night or wherever there can be little light) and thought I had found the perfect one for the right price so I got this one.

However, I was sort of misled on the motion detection option (which I also wanted).You need to wire up an external trigger (like closing a switch) which then in turn will allow the camera to record images and email you, etc, that movement was sensed.They call this alarm notification or something.This camera does not have `built-in' motion detection (unlike the higher end Toshiba model WB11A which does) or some others that do.Since the manual for the WB01A and WB11A are combined it's easy to be misled (the WB11A has configurable built-in motion detection that the manual shows you how to configure).

Other than that, the camera is pretty easy to configure, pan/tilt/zoom works good, and the picture looks pretty decent.Not sure of the wireless range since I did not put that to the test but it was easy to configure and get on the network.The auto low light worked pretty well for seeing things in a darker setting.I haven't used other web cameras besides this one but did see a review that mentioned the Panasonic BL-C30A was better but it is also more expensive than this one.

So if you are looking for a wireless pan/tilt/zoom camera that also can see well in low light conditions but does not have built-in motion detection, this camera is well worth a look for the price.

If you have an HDTV, you need this camcorder!!!!
This is the first camcorder I have ever used that looks good on an HDTV. No... Let me correct that. It looks great!!!

Have you ever wondered why a normal camcorder looks so bad on an HDTV? It's because an HDTV is very high resolution. When you connect a traditional camcorder (even a Mini DV), the TV sees a much smaller, comparatively low resolution picture and must scale it (digitally enlarge it) to fit the screen. It doesn't matter if you have a $400 low end cam or a $4000 high end cam... Scaling the picture on virtually any HDTV will ruin your camcorder picture.

JVC solved this on the GR-HD1 with the world's first consumer HD camcorder. Basically, it's the first consumer camcorder ever that makes a picture which correctly fits a widescreen HDTV. It records a picture with 720 x 1280 dots, compared with 480 x 720 dots for a normal camcorder.

The result? The detail & resolution is simply phennominal! The colors look great! The video is much more appealing to watch in widescreen because it more closely matches your natural field of vision.

The only thing you need to be careful of is the frame rate. This shoots 720/30P. What that means is it takes video at 30 frames per second. As a result, if the camera uses too fast of a shutter speed you may see a "jitter" in things that move on-screen. The fix is really easy: Simply take the camcorder out of the "auto" mode and lock in a 1/30th of a second shutter speed. This eliminates the vast majority of the jitter. What you are left with is a superb high resolution video with a subtle "film-like" quality.

You don't have to be Stephen Speilberg to appreciate this. This is the ideal camcorder for any type of family video. Think about the great stuff happening today that you'll want to be able to watch 10-20 years from now, and still be happy with the quality.

NETWORKED TV
Well, it isn't HDTV but it works and works well! You can see clearly once it is set up properly. The system installed easily and worked out of the box with no problems. Doesn't seem to work with my SD memory cards
I changed my review from the first time but I can't downgrade the number of stars.

The CONs:
I'm having a LOT of trouble with this product, although it worked fine for the first half hour or so.I had one 1G SD card go belly up within 15 minutes of being installed in this product.And I'm having trouble getting it to reliably record on the other 1G SD card that I have (both are brand new SanDisk Ultra II 1G cards).This product does not work with any codex that came with Windows XP, so I downloaded it per the manufacturer's instructions.But I am haing a LOT of trouble with compatibility between the Windows Media Player and this codex.

The PROs:
The AC adapter has a long cord on it, so you can place the clock up to about 10 feet from an AC outlet.And the clock slides forward and back on a concave cradle that allows you to tilt the clock so that you can place it high on a shelf and aim it downward.

The video is pretty grainy, but the motion detector part works great.I was wondering how far from the clock the motion detector would sense motion, and I found that it had no problem detecting motion 17 feet away.But I have no idea what the instruction booklet is referring to when it says that "the reflective MODE button can be used to determine where the camera is aimed and what area of the room will be recorded...".There are no instructions about how to use the reflective surface of the MODE button, which is smaller than a pencil eraser, to accomplish this goal.

The motion sensor covers a broader area than the camera can record, so it triggers the camera to start recording before any motion is shown.The SD disk that I use pops in and out of the card slot with no problem. ... Read more

Nice Little camera for daylight, low-light conditions
This little camera works nice in daylight and low light conditions, but does not work very efficiently on dark areas. Also if you install it close to a glossy surface, like semi-gloss or gloss painted concrete, you will recieve IR bounce that looks like a halo at night. The monitor works nice and the sound is clear. Wonderful - I Love it!!
I bought this unit to monitor my barn. I have 17 mares to foal and want to keep a very close eye on them. My barn is over 300 feet away from my house and this unit works beautifully. The monitor works with up to four cameras. I now have 3 cameras hooked up to my unit and am considering buying the 4th camera. Its easy to install, easy to run. I have a crystal clear picture in one stall, and a not quite as good of pictures in the other two stalls which are a little further away. I love this product.

Wireless a good idea?...... maybe not.
This system is a piece of cake to install. Two people make it easier and faster. Make sure you have electrical outlets at both locations where the monitor and camera will go. Then, FIRST take the camera and set it in the area where you will later mount it. Then set up the monitor where you want it. Good picture? Congratulations! Poor picture? Try adjusting the antennas on each device to hopefully achieve good reception. (Poor reception will have rolling lines through it.) Still poor reception? This is not and I repeat is not a good alarm. There is one alarm light and you can hardly tell which one is sounding. It looks as if the specs are lying to me and I hate lies. Also the battery died after 6-8 months. The low battery alert is loud and chirps so anoyingly. I also noticed that the alarm sounds a loud shrieking alarm when it sounds. I will return this alarm. DIsappointing machine
The hospital provided me with this monitor after my kidney transplant. Right away, readings were 20-30 points too high. Luckily, I didn't pay for it.

It gets two stars only because I always assume it's 20 points too high and subtract.

Found it useless
Bought one for my Mom who has moderately high BP. When we tested her BP with this instrument, it showed her BP as 165/80!! We took her to her Doctor to get a checkup done. Measurement using their Sphygmomanometer showed 132/75. We were relieved that she was OK but were upset that this instrument would give a reading that was so off.

We returned it.

If you are a serious user, consider buying a Sphygmomanometer.

I have great blood pressure, for those who were worried.....
Okay, I think I must have joked too many times with potential dates and amours about their heart and blood pressure...So what popped up at Christmas a blood pressure monitor.

I must say it works great!!! It comes with a nifty little booklet on Managing High Blood Pressure. It explains the basics: What it is, What it does to your body, and What you can do about it.

It is very easy to use: pretty much just put the cuff on like the directions, relax, press the on button, wait for the heart symbol, and then press start. Easy as can be, until the cuff starts feeling like your arm is being squeezed off.

This monitor gives the systolic and diastolic pressure along with the pulse rate. This monitor even keeps memory of your readings. Kewl, huh!!!

So if you want something simple and easy buy this one I have found it fun to take my blood pressure during the day after all kinds of activities:)

I can absolutely say I am in great health, blood pressure health that is, 110 over 70. So take care of your heart and blood pressure.
