5-0 out of 5 stars Industry (Trade) standard
pretty much the standard now if you look around job sites. Now I know why. Very good investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply ingenious!
This is the best, least labor intensive and most reasonably priced scaffolding system I have used. To get up 48 feet(max)5-6 stories, with a 20 foot width span, took me 20 minutes- to erect and pump up the two of us and 300 pounds of shingles. Think of the area (1,000 square feet!) you can work before you need to dismantle and move. And we often find it faster to wind down and pump back up for resupplying stock. My one recommendation is that even the 24 foot pole length should require an extra hand erecting. Very safe, secure and nicely made. Smooth as a baby's ... for increased flexibility, I would also recommend jumping in and getting the 12 foot poles right away.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a piece of machinery!!
Well what can I say? This scaffolding is just incredible in its durability and reliability.

I suggest you go out an buy some for yourself not later but NOW!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This heater is excellent and the perfect fit, for a certain set of requirements.

If you have electricity, use an electric heater. Don't bother with the hassel of propane. The cost isn't too different and the hassel factor is much higher than electricity.

I also don't recommend using the small canisters. That's an inconvinient way to go as well.

BUT. If you don't have power and need a cheap, safe heat source that you can run while you sleep, this is the best one made. Buy the 12' hose, place a 20lb propane tank outside, and run this heater all night with just a small crack in a window or door (just in case!). You will get > 100 hours of heat out of a tank of propane! Less than a buck to run it all night.

Highly recommended under the right circumstances.

5-0 out of 5 stars Carbon monoxide and propane
I don't (yet) have this heater but it is on my wish list.

I'm posting this merely to point out the inaccuracies and potentially DANGEROUS information in the poster who states that propane does not produce CO (Carbon Monoxide). Visit this site and you'll get plenty of information about this: http://www.carbonmonoxidedeaths.com .

Like all fuels, propane gas requires oxygen to burn completely. Appliance malfunctions, vent system blockage and improper installation will reduce the oxygen supply. When this happens, the fuel will not burn properly, releasing CO into the room, and long term exposure can lead to CO poisoning.

A bigger problem here is that in an enclosed area, the propane heater can consume oxygen. In an oxygen-starved room, the propane will continue to burn, and WILL produce carbon monoxide. This manufacturer was smart enough to include an oxygen sensor to avoid this dangerous situation. In fact, this manufacturer is a FOUNDING MEMBER of a Coalition for Portable Radiant Heater Safety. You will find very few portable heaters that are rated for indoor use today. This is one of them and you should be able to use this safely.

2-0 out of 5 stars you people are missing the boat on safety!
the main byproducts of propane combustion are carbon DIoxide and water...not carbon MONoxide. You will expire long before your carbon monoxide detector sounds. It's not what this unit produces, it's what it consumes...oxygen. a little ventilation is all that's required to safely operate this unit, and reduce condensation.
Personally I would never use a radiant heater while sleeping, especially in a tent! Radiant heaters heat THINGS, not AIR,if one of those things being exposed to this radiant energy is highly flammable you'll have a serious problem. I have personal knowledge of a radiant heater (albeit a larger AC model) igniting a stack of paper over 3ft away!
a safer, lower cost alternative might be a catalytic heater like the coleman procat... though it has a much lower btu output, it's heating air...not emitting radiant energy. In a large workshop...radiant...in a tent or the like...catalytic.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money
I purchased this heater and it was a problem from day one. Out of about one hundred attempts to light, it has only worked three times! The pilot light ignites without problem, but it refuses to work beyond this point. Two out of the three times it worked, it went out when I tried to turn the control from high to low. I have since purchased three butane heaters that work flawlessly. I would not recommend this unit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can not handle wind or breeze
I bought this with the hope of using it at our kids outdoor sporting events, but, when ever there was a breeze, the heater would shut off. This heater is a perfect size instead of carrying a large propane tank heater, but could not stand up to the elements. Works great with no wind. If they could just make it wind proof, it would be perfect. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
After reading the various other reviews I first contacted the Werner company and was informed that they no longer have a 16 ft 300 lb rated ladder. One of my neighbors has an articulated ladder from another company and noted that on one occasion he almost suffered an injury due to the locks not being fully engaged. The ClimbTek ladder lock system is better designed. An excellent choice given the nominal cost and at the time I ordered, free shipping.

5-0 out of 5 stars great buy for the price and quality
I found out about this climbtek ladder while searching for articulating ladder when I was always finding werner brand. I weight 160 pounds and 5'9" tall and can carry the ladder in folded position just by one hand. Its easy to manage and work with. you can pull the lever by one hand and 'click' works fine. The square steps provides secure standing. The only problem is does not lock in folded/storage position but that's ok. and yes this is the 300# while the werner is only 250#

strongly recommend to buy this if you can afford it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice ladder
I've gotten more use from this ladder than I had expected, including as a scaffold. Even when not in use as a ladder, I put it into the M shape with the center hinge unlocked and use it to store lumber in the garage. It's nice and sturdy, but my only complaints are that it's a bit heavy, I wish it included a stabilizer on the other end (for when its used as a scaffold and to go around windows as a ladder), and the scaffold platform boards. I use a hand truck to move it around while it's folded.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Articulating Ladder
I compared this ladder to a copy at Home Depot. The Home Depot 16 ft model cost [money amount] + tax. The construction was not nearly as good, it had a two hand release (compared to one hand for Climbtek) for the articulations and was rated at 250 lbs. (compared to 300 for Climbtek). The ClimbTek costs a little more, but is a much better value.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best articulating ladder out there
This is the BEST folding ladder out there. Just the 1 handed release is enough to earn your purchase. I bought this when it was sold by Krause as a Multimatic (Krause went out of business...must have sold the patent) and use it all the time. This is pricier than the Krause, but NOT double! It is only 33% more than what I paid for it in 1996. The other reviewer must be comparing it to the smaller 12' Krause.

This is MUCH better than [my local store's]import. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a true bargain
just got this stand free with my bosch 3912 miter saw and am very impressed. i was not going to buy a stand, but i found the saw i wanted with the stand as an extra. after mounting the saw on the stand and making a couple of cuts, i couldn't be more pleased. the whole unit is solid as a rock. it makes moving and storing the saw easy as well. the whole thing hangs on my garage wall! by the way, buy a 3912!!

5-0 out of 5 stars You Don't Have To Break The Bank For A Great Miter Saw Stand
The Port-A-Mate 4400 provides a very stable and easy to adjust stand for all miter saws. My husband reviews tools for two magazines. He wanted to see what HTC had for the Sliding miter saws he was reviewing. He mounted every type of miter saw from Ryobi to Bosch and the stand functioned perfectly. A small child could assemble the saw when it arrives in the box. It is also made in America. I know because I put the saws on the stands because my husband has a bad back injury. I found it took about two minutes to mount a saw once the stand was put together. It wheels around perfectly when the stand is broken down for transporting and even I can set it up in 30 seconds when we pick a spot to make cuts. All of the manufactures stands are very expensive when compared to this stand. This stand had a perfect powder coated finish and looked like it cost hundreds more. It is the best bargain on Amazon in my opinion. Just incase you think a woman has no idea about tools I am a theater arts major. I have built many sets in the theater that require the use of many power tools and thousands of types of finishes. You can't go wrong with this miter saw stand.

4-0 out of 5 stars Snap Buttons, Cheap Paint, and No Handle--Still a Great Buy!
I bought this stand for use with my Bosch 3912. The stand works great, is very stable, and fits my Bosch. Most of the parts are made from fairly thick-gauge aluminum and feel sturdy. There was no wobble (even without the saw to weigh it down). Overall, this stand is a good value (compared to other brand-name models and sears models that are at least double the cost).

Support T's are wide enough to support a variety of materials and saw-positions. The work-height may be a little high for a person under 6ft--just remember it's 36" + the height of your saw table when considering height.

Problems:
As others mentioned that the snap buttons are marginal at best. I have experienced the same problems with sticking and bad fit. They are a bad idea or perhaps a good idea poorly executed. Either way, I find them to be the biggest annoyance with this stand.

The cheesy orange paint is put on thick and chips easily. A bit of it is also in many of the thread and cut-outs which makes some bolts/knobs a tight fit.

The last complain I have is that it doesn't have any kind of handle. When I fold-up the stand to move it around, there's no comfortable place to hold it. While not a deal-breaker, it's a tad on the irritating side (especially if you roll it a long distance).

The instructions are a bit cryptic, but I think the assembly is fairly intuitive. Just be sure to pay attention to which bolts each step specifies (otherwise you'll have to disassemble it and start over from scratch).

4-0 out of 5 stars Snap buttons need work
[Summary: Right around 3.5 stars. Snap button problems and support only for saws with mounting holes in a rectangle lower the score, but the stand is stable and rugged.]

I got a low-end compound miter saw to add some trim to my house. I certainly didn't want to spend more money on the stand than I did for the saw, so I bought the PM4400. It was a decent buy, but the assembly took over two hours. Half of this time was spent debugging the "snap" buttons. Snap buttons are spring-loaded bumps that fit through various holes in the frame to hold the legs either open or closed. They came pre-installed on my stand's legs, and that was part of the problem.

Two of the four snap buttons would stick halfway through their holes -- not all the way up, and not all the way down. First I tried some WD-40. No help. So I took a leg off and removed its snap button to look it over. This took a flat-bladed screwdriver (as mentioned in the instructions) plus some long-nosed pliers (not mentioned). When I had the spring piece out of the leg I could feel that there was some minor roughness around the edge of the hole the button is supposed to "snap" through. So I got a circular file (again, not mentioned) and ran it around the hole a couple times. After reassembly the button snapped smoothly, as it was supposed to. I repeated the process on the other three legs and now they lock open and closed pretty handily.

When it came to mounting my saw I discovered another difficulty: The PM4400 only supports saws with mounting holes in a rectangle. My saw has the mounting holes in the back closer together than those in the front. The stand's assembly instructions said to mount the saw to a 3/4" plywood base and drill holes in a rectangle in the plywood. Another annoyance, and a bit more time getting set up.

When finally set up this stand works well. You can rest some pretty heavy stock on the support arms without a problem. And I can verify that a falling aluminum ladder didn't even scrape through the orange paint on the legs -- not that that's a recommended test, you understand :-). Stable and rugged is what you want in a saw stand, and that's what's important over the long haul. I just wish I knew that I'd have to pay a bit over two hours labor to get going.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid stand...great price...USA
I'm a serious DIY-er. I was (just like you) tired of wobbly saw horses and other makeshift setups and lugging around a 12" compound saw. I wanted a sturdy saw platform AND wheels. I did the research and decided on the Portamate based on (1) strength, (2) portability, (3) price and (4) Made in USA. I'm pleased on all accounts. The materials are strong and of good quality. The powder coated finish is first class. Once assembled it's a no-nonsense solid stand, as advertised. The saw mounts and detaches in seconds with the clamp-on mounts. The stand sets up and folds easily. Its compact when folded and easy to roll. It took me about two hours to assemble the unit due to skimpy instructions and minor hardware issues. One bolt had a thread problem that would not let it thread into the nut properly. After a session with the tap & die set, that issue was resolved. I also experienced the problem with the leg lock buttons that an earlier reviewer had. These buttons are spring loaded to snap into a hole and lock the legs when setup. The buttons are depressed to fold up the stand. The buttons worked perfectly on two legs but the other two wanted to stick, either open or closed. The problem was that the buttons fit too tightly in the leg holes. The buttons were easily removed from the holes with a screw driver and the holes slightly enlarged to allow proper clearance. The two hardware issues are very minor and I think common to many things we buy unassembled. A flawed bolt and a little too much paint/metal at the hole location, not big problems. These units are a bargain. Would gladly buy again. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars They Have a Point -- Literally!
I did quite a bit of research looking for a clamping system for picture frames. Time and again I came back to Ulmia and decided to give them a try. They look good but simply do not work on the woods I tested them on: maple, oak, pine, purple heart and cherry. The springs have nail-sharp points on them that, when clamped with the lightest pressure I could and still hold the mitre, punched varying holes and gouges in the wood. I even tried one on the nice wooden box they were shipped in and it dug into the side. (Did the return department notice that?)

I'm not sure what application one would use where gouging the wood is an acceptable part of clamping. For me, the Ulmia design is "Duh!" What do you get when you press sharp, hardened steel into wood? I should have figured that one out before wasting the time buying and returning it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST
Since I purchased a set of Miter Clamps I have never looked back. They are an absolute must for any body doing base board, crown moulding shoe moulding etc. They are perfect for finished work, just glue and clamp no nails necessary. I have recommended Miter Clamps to anybody I know in the same scope of work as me. From my recommendations to the rest of the people in my company several have purchased the clamps and have found them a hugh success. There are other brands on the market, but trust me "Ulmia 560-3250 miter Clamp" are the best! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars time to get real here.......................
First of all any btty that last's 8hrs on a charge is great. Reception is not the best but for a jobsite radio its fine. To compare it to Milwaukee is not fair as thiers isnt even a charger. Sound is by far the best of all three.

3-0 out of 5 stars Proven bad reception
I saw the radio in the store and had it in my cart. I thought I should read the reviews prior to purchase and put it back. After reading the reviews I went back to home depot and with the Dewalt on one side and the Milwaukee on the other I performed the reception test. Don't buy the Bosch. I'm a great fan of their tools but the Bosch would not pick up ANY FM stations while the others would tune clearly to 8-10 local and not so local stations.

The Good- The MP3 function puts 11 hours of music on a disk, and with 12vdc and 4 outlets of GFCI It's still a good tool. I may need to take it apart to put an external antenna on it tho'

3-0 out of 5 stars I think I'm pleased...or maybe not...I'm not sure...
I've owned my Power Box for a couple of months now. I read the other reviews and my comments relate to them.

I don't think this radio is too heavy or too big. I would have never thought of that as a possible compaint.

I have been wondering about the FM reception. I get many stations fine, but the PBS station, which is usually the easiest to get, is hard to get on the Power Box. But AM reception seems surprisingly good.

The one thing I really wish this thing had is a headphone jack. I have a small radio transmitter that I use at sites to transmit to my Peltor Alert hearing protection AM/FM headphones (I put them on when I'm using power equipment). I'd really like to be able to transmit whatever I'm listening to or playing to my headphones, but I can't with no jack. But, I'm sure I'm about the only person out there with this complaint.

One thing I have noticed is that once I charge a battery pack, it goes dead within a day or two even if the radio is not on. I really don't understand why this is, but it has happened several times with a fairly new battery pack.

I think the sound is good. But I wouldn't expect amazing sound from a jobsite radio, and I listen mainly to talk programming.

So, in the end, I guess I don't know if I like my Power Box. I wouldn't return it tomorrow for what I paid for it. But I'd sure like to keep that option open.

1-0 out of 5 stars power what??
I purchased this radio from home depot the other day and I have to say I was very disappointed.first off the radio is a tank and seemed to take up valuble space, which wouldn't have been a bad thing if it had been worth it.Second the sterio was not immpressive sounding at all ,weak volumn, terrible bass reponse , and bad reception. All that for just under $180.00 I'm very pleased with my bosch tools, this being the exception! milwaukee sounds 10 times better at under half the price!

2-0 out of 5 stars POWER BOX? Not really.
I got my Bosch Power Box the other day after ordering from amazon.com. I had read the reviews about the radio reception being poor & I figured they were exaggerating, but it's terrible! I can only get 2 FM stations in clearly & everything else is either all static or not much more than that! Its CD player works well & the sound quality is ok but not great. You have to have the power box plugged in even to charge your cell phone. Bought a bosch 24v platinum battery for it ( over $130.00! ) & it only works for about 8 hours before going stone dead. Lastly, the darn thing is heavier than a box of tools! With all that weight behind it & a price tag way bigger than Milwaulkee & Dewalt ( actually, you can buy both of them for the price of the Bosch!!!) you'd think they could make a better performing unit! Why did I keep it? It's the only one with a CD player...THAT'S IT!!!! Don't buy it unless you want a jobsite radio witha built in CD player!!! ... Read more

This addition will make ripping larger panels alot easier. I have had some bad experiences with HTC products in the past, but I am very pleased with this product. Assembly and adjustment was simple and took about 1 hour.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tablesaw addition!
The Roller system is a excellent piece of equipment! It took a while to adjust the height of the rollers to the table. When I did, all rollers were flat with the table. The only downfall of this product is customer service! I had a defective part when assembling. Called 5 weeks ago and still have not recieved a replacement for the defective part!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great concept/lacking precision
The design and flexability of this outfeed roller table is great. The only complaint I have is that (as others have written) the roller plane tolerance is not very accurate. Some rollers are as much as 1/8" lower or higher than the leading and last roller. I would think HTC could do better at aligning the rollers or make the alignment adjustable. I ended up attaching a removable laminated table top to the frame insted of using the rollers. Maybe HTC could sell just the folding frame without the rollers at a discounted cost. It was still worth it to me just to get the folding frame. The table folds and unfolds easily. Attachment to my saw(Powermatic 66) was easy, I installed it myself in 2-3 hours. Its great to have the outfeed table/rollers permanately attached to the saw and always in alignment when folded into place. Since I have limited space and all my equipment is mobile, its nice to just be able to fold the outfeed table down and out of the way. It is a better and more convenient design than any other outfeed table that I've seen. It took a little extra work to add a seperate tabletop, but I am glad I got one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Roller table works well and installation was fairly straight
I am the owner of a small one man shop. I have limited space so many of my larger tools are on mobile bases. I wanted the outfeed rollers to support 4X8 3/4" plywood and mdf that I use to make cabinets. The instructions/diagrams in the installation instructions were straight foward. Although, if you are putting the roller on a unisaw you have to move the on/off box - but instructions are in the installation manual. I put the rollers on a grizzly table saw. You will want to remove the table top to get to the inside of the saw. I took advantage of when the table top was off and did machine maintence(i.e. adjust belt tension, clean and lubricate.) You will be drilling eight holes in the back of the cabinet. A template is supplied for the top four holes. The bottom holes are drilled with the support bracket mounted. I installed the roller myself in about three hours(including the machine maintence), but it would be easier to install with a helper. You have to tap the mounting bracket around a bit to find level. The adjustment screw on the bottom of the support arm is a hassel to get to once installed. I cut off an open-ended wrench to 4" in length to get to it for adjustment(rated 4 rather than 5 for this reason). Other than that it is working great and I am very happy with it. The only other advice that I would have is that if you don't like playing with stuff a little to get it to work well you may not be happy with the rollers.

3-0 out of 5 stars This is not a precision piece of equipment
The idea is great the execution is lacking. There is too much varience with the rollers; when you align the ones closest to the table with the table and then level the furthest ones with the tables, some of the rollers in between are either lower or higher. Can't do anything about that. While the varience isn't too much, it could be a problem later. Not great but not horrible either. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Second Review
Last November I placed this bag in use. It still is not full but I have managed to load it to 70-80 lbs. This bag carries all of the immediate hand tools I use. This bag is rugged, well designed, roomy and has lasting value. It still maintains its' shape even with a heavy load. Turn it over, drop it or kick it around; it still keeps its shape, the zippers funtion great and nothing inside is damaged or falls out. Great product and I will probably order another just to balance out the weight of the contents.

1-0 out of 5 stars Overbuilt for me
I'd give this bag 5 stars for the fact that it's built like a brick SH, you get mucho durability for your money. But I returned mine. The shipping weight alone should have tripped a circuit in my brain - 8 lbs! This is a heavy bag. If all you do is lug this from the tailgate to the jobsite - say 30 to 50 ft - you'll love it. It'll outlast you. But I work in NYC apartments and haul a lot of what I have to use to the site - and up many stairs. Plus, the design of this bag begs to be loaded with all the tools you have - even the ones you don't need or use anymore. When it arrived, I had an epiphany...I need 3 or 4 bags (lighter bags) loaded with specific tools for specific jobs - take what I need, leave the rest. If it fits your style of work I'm sure you wouldn't be dissatisfied with the Veto bag - but it wasn't for me. I wish the company made a bag that was ½ to a 1/3 the size/weight. I'd keep that one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Close to perfect
Heavy duty and shoulder strap makes it easy to carry for long distances. Plus the various sized pockets inside are great. I still recommend using a small utility box for screws and such, which can easily fit inside the bag. There is only one complaint that I have. There is no max weight limit and considering the size of the bag I easily had 45lbs. of tools that I was carrying which eventually cracked the handle on top of the bag after a year. This was a minor problem as I repaired it with heavier duty material. I still highly praise this bag.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bag
Received this bag several weeks back and have been using it on the job with great success. I used to haul tools around in two individual bags and always had to "fish" for the item needed. This one bag holds everything my two other bags held but now there is more than enough room for additional hand tools and they are much better organized. I have yet to "fill up" this new bag and I can carry it with one hand; this bag is much better engineered.

I hope the guy that perfected this bag is working on other new innovations; I am anxious to see his next idea.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing else like it
As a remodeling contractor, I've also tried many different tool boxes/bags and none of them have been satisfactory...until now. This tool bag is very well designed and well made. Some might consider it alittle spendy, but like any quality tool, you get what you pay for. My old $50 bag was nothing but a dust catcher. You don't have to worry about being disappointed with this bag...there's nothing out there like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pair of horses...
I was really pleased at the quality and strength of these horses. They are wonderful to use, and love the ability to simply fold em up and store away. Would sincerely suggest that you order these. A must for any home owner.......

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty Sawhorses
The saw horses have been lightweight and easy to store after use. They have been easy to transport from jobsite to jobsite. I like the versatility of moving them around and not having to break my back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not love at first sight
Opening the carton I thought I'd blown it ordering these. But after setting them up and snapping the base plate in place, it was definately love at second sight. Extremely stable and no joke about the support ability. Great for carrying around and very compact storage. Only flaw is the top grooved cap piece being held on by a wire tie, which can be lived with because all the rest of the sawhorse is great. Now the problem is the back order status of the outfeed rollers. These are truely pieces of equipment that will hold up last a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars impressive product
Always needed sawhorses. Never got around to cobbling some together because I didn't have the room to store them. Tried these based on all the 5-star reviews. Wonderful product, well deserving of the reviews. The ty-wraps are for shipping; you can take them off --and they are not at all "wobbly". You'll be glad you ordered.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wobbly Horse
I ordered this product based on the great reviews here. I just received them and I am sending them back. First, they are too wobbly to be useful. Second, the plastic top bar moves around and it is almost impossible to clamp anything to it. I need a stable horse, not a rocking horse. The design is a good idea but it is not executed very well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Reseating your tubeless tires
Ok, first let me say that I love Rousseau products and have purchased the PM2700XL 3 piece table saw system to support my new Makita 2703. Everything is as it should be, solid, refined and painstakingly well designed. This miter stand is next on my wish list.
I also have a cheap as dirt two-wheeler that I use daily at work. It features the same tubeless inflatible tires as this Rousseau stand (although not as nice). Well, I had a huge piece of furniture that wouldn't sit on the two-wheeler and fit under a doorway the other day. I thought I was being brilliant by letting enough air out of the tires to lower the thing, when 'poof' they both unseated as I hit the transom on my way through the door. My employer looked at me as if to say "you idiot" when I turned the situation into a positive display of McGyver-esqe ingenuity and regained some credibilty with him...... here is what to do:
Moisten the sidewall bead area with some water and make sure both the tire and rim are free of dirt. Take a piece of standard clothesline and tie a loop in one end and pass the other end through it to fashion a large slip-knot. If you're not handy with rope use a ratchet strap, or an old leather belt with a loop buckle. Wrap it around the centerline of the tire's tread. Cinch the rope (ratchet the strap, tighten the belt) back tightly to compress the treads in towards the center of the tire evenly. You may need someone to hold the tire for you to keep it from turning, I just used my knee. This will force the sidewalls of the tire outward and into contact with the rim. At this point, just about anything that blows air will inflate and reseat your tires. I used a Campbell-Hausfeld battery powered compressor and it did just fine. Using this technique a bicycle hand pump would probably do equally well.
Good luck and check your tire pressure frequently.

4-0 out of 5 stars correction
Dear editors: please add the following to the review of the HD2950 that i submitted just a couple of hours ago:

I called Rousseau's toll free number and they are sending me new wheels free of charge. Their customer service was friendly, prompt, and intelligent... perfect.

This brings the stand up to 4 or 4.5 stars in my opinion... to make it up to 5 they would need to make it easier to work with while folded up -- as another reviewer said, the attachments for the T-stands stick out a lot and there's no easy place to stow the T's themselves. But in actual use I love this stand and it's always worth the setup time to use it rather than going back to repetitive measured cutoffs with a skilsaw.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great with extension table & stops... but, tire problems.
I really love my HD2950 and it is worth every cent. I added the extension wing with cutoff stops and integral measuring tape and I get perfect repetetive cutoffs every time. The extension is very solid. I've had no problem putting a 16 foot 4x8 on this table with its extension wing and adjusting it for a perfect compound miter cut.

The partial downfall is the tires. I agree with the reviewer who said that despite their large size and bounciness they still can get hung up on rolling over, for instance, a walnut or garden hose. Worst of all, my tires came unseated after some broad temperature changes (i must not have aired them up often enough) and these particular model tires are impossible to remount with a bicycle pump. In fact I just took them to a couple of car-tire stores and they were unable to get them reseated with 200psi compressors. Apparently there is only the main bead on the tire rim, and no secondary bead to help make the preliminary seal while the pressure builds. It's near impossible to keep the rubber pre-seated on both sides while also filling them. There's probably a simple solution like "do it underwater" but i haven't found it yet. I've reseated dozens of wheelbarrow tubeless tires before but this problem appears to be different.

But I love the stand. I just might replace my tires with an equivalent size solid tire.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great stand - could use an upgrade
First and foremost: this is a great stand. I have been futzing around with homemade mitre saw stands for years without much satisfaction. This saw stand has made a significant productivity improvement for myself and my employees. However, there are two drawbacks I wish Rousseau would address: #1 - There is no place to store the feed roller supports when the stand is folded. I stash them between the table and the folded legs which works OK until you need to lay the stand down in the truck bed and then the supports fall out. Other than that, this is a great tool. #2 - There is no intermediate (roller) support so you have to constantly adjust the feed rollers in and out as you cut moulding down and then get a new piece. If there was an intermediate support, then you could set it up so that both a long and short piece of stock could be supported without adjustment.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mostly Good but . . .
I likely would have given this stand a 3.5, but obviously not an option. My rationale is fairly simple. The stand/ saw (mine a Hitachi C10fs)is handy to roll where you need it in most cases. It will take a minute or two to get the rollers, stock support . . . set up, but with much less work than sawhorses and some other stands. I beleive that comparatively speaking, the Rousseau stand is far better built than the Trojan or Delta stands. In general I am satisfied. Where I think the saw falls and unfortunately I do mean falls short, is in wheeling the saw around. Going down steps, pushing over multiple extension cords, wood . . . can without too much effort, result in the saw flipping over or worse into you shins. ( Been there ! ) The stand has such a short wheelbase, which aids the stand in tight quarter manuevers; but also allows the stand and saw to flip easier than I would expect. Despite the big tires, they get hung up on more than I imagined. If you can keep the notion in mind to push down low, once the rear legs are folded when moving this saw around, I think it is a well made stand, that will last for years of serious work. For general in shop use though, I would likely build a cart with storage and save the money. The stand definitely helps with portability of heavy & awkward saws, ( which is likely why you're looking for portable stands ) but this one can get out hand a little too quick, when trying to be quick. Good, but not exactly everything I had hoped for. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the best workmanship but the price is right
The quality of the wood and workmanship of this chest is a little better than the typical "made-in-China" quality. But the hardware is pretty low-grade. Having said that, what you do get is a pretty solid (it survived UPS unscathed) utility chest with velour-lined drawers that fit and slide nicely. It is now housing my woodworking measuring instruments. Recommended.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sisco MTV7 Solid Hardwood Utility Chest
I am disappointed with the quality of the product. The finish is poor quality. It is not uniform in color or application. The hardware is poor quality. The buyer must install the pull knobs, which is okay, but the screws were too long. I had to find and add some washers so they would tighten. The side handles do not match. One raises above horizontal, the other does not reach horizontal. A nail, intended for one of the drawer slide rails was inserted above the rail and was scoring the drawer.

Solid Hardwood must be the name used to define the laminated fiberboard. From the outside, it appears the chest is constructed from real wood. If you remove the drawers and look inside, you find that the drawer bottoms, the side panels, back panels and bottom are fiberboard.

The top compartment and the drawers are lined with something similar to felt. They hold the material in place by way of an adhesive. Wrinkles have formed due to improperly sized fabric.

Finally, when the top is closed the drawers are not secured. You must take extra care to prevent drawers and contents from dumping when moving the chest.

4-0 out of 5 stars value priced chest
purchased this chest for a fishing friend to store fly tying materials within and he is pretty pleased to have it. he said that it was something that he would take good care of but that was not an heirloom piece. I thought that description fit what I was needing just about right. thinking to order one for myself at this time so it must be good enough for the purpose intended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Chest for the price
I read all the reviews on this item and just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I got mine last week. It was shipped with no problems. Everything was there, nothing was broken. They obviously got the oil problem taken care of because mine was just perfectly finished. It's not a Gershner box, but you didn't pay $500 for it either. It's a good place to put your "critical" tools so they don't get damaged. For $50 bucks, it's a good buy. I had no problems what so ever.

4-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe these negative reviews!!!
When I decided to purchase this chest, I had real reservations based on the negative reviews. Well, I got mine in the mail today and I LOVE IT! It's exactly what I expected. No, it's not solid oak with real brass and velvet...those chests cost hundreds of dollars, remember? But it's heavy, sturdy, NOT broken, bent, cracked, whatever else they said about it. It's real wood, and just perfect for my tools. I'm ordering the smaller model next. If you don't want to pay a lot and you want a great storage chest, this is your best buy! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Badly damaged once again.
I previously ordered two of these units and wrote a review. Both were badly damaged, but one was salvagable. The other I had to return, after it overheated and emitted a noxious odor. I decided to take a chance and order another unit this month (goal was to have total of two working units), hoping that whatever warehouse or shipping issues that resulted in previous damage had been resolved. They weren't. This unit also came with crushed top and wheels. Until the manufacturer comes up with a better way to ship these heavy beasts, not worth it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good all-in-one package
The Xpower 1500 is a good backup system as it has eveything you need in a convenient handtruck (the batteries are heavy).
Unfortunately the 61 Amphr batteries don't last that long. Adding a 100Ahr battery which you can easily be connected to the xPower make for a nice system which will get you thru a few days of blackout.

4-0 out of 5 stars I HAVE TWO OF THESE
I HAVE TWO XPOWER 1500 UNITS . THEY WORK AS ADVERTISED, EACH UNIT WILL RUN A REFRIGERATOR FOR OVER TWO HOURS DURING A POWER OUTAGE. THEY WILL START A SKILLSAW WHEN FULLY CHARGED.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD, ONE OF THE CHARGERS WILL NOT CUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED.
A QUALITY PRODUCT, BUT NEEDS TO HAVE MORE RESERVE (BATTERY AMPS) FOR LONGER SERVICE. GREAT IDEA.

1-0 out of 5 stars doesn't run
bought one for the boat, didn't run, wouldn't charge. Fluke?
exchanged for a new one. Followed directions still no charge after 24hours plugged into household power.
Not worth time or effort it would appear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Living Off The Power Grid - The True Test
Our ranch is outside of utility power service, and we rely upon a generator for our power. The Xantrex xPower 1500 was appealing to us for the purpose of running small electrical units, TV, VCR, lamp, computer, without having to start up and listen to a 10K generator. An added advantage is being able to take power where you need it on our acerage. The portable dolly design allows the power unit to go where you want the power, for power tools, weedeaters, etc.

The system works wonderfully for our purpose. Now we can enjoy a few quiet evening hours without having to forego light and entertainment. Plugged into a standard wall outlet, the x1500 battery easily charges up during the generator-run hours. We are very pleased.

We experienced one glitch, which turned out okay. The original unit we received had battery acid spilled inside of the box. Xantrex technical support was very clear that this was not right, and the unit could not be used and needed to be replaced. Their warranty department took care of everything, and delivered an entire new system within two weeks. It did take more than one call to get a solid answer on this solution, but it worked out satisfactorily. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
As a 10 year aircraft maintainer in the US Air Force, I've used everything from standard Mag-lites, scuba divers' lights, and even penlights in a pinch. I can say this flashlight is brighter than any other I've used. It cuts my inspection time in half because I can see things 55 feet off the ground just like it was right in front of me. Don't be fooled to think a rechargeable battery pack isn't as strong as standard alkaline batteries. This isn't the case. I wouldn't trade this flashlight for anything!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mag Lite is good for general purpose
Having read the other reviews, I decided to add one myself:

Many police departments standard issue Mag Lite products. The 2,3..etc D sized flashlights make reliable flashlights and their weight can also make them useful as a baton in a pinch. I have several different Mag Lights (the mini's, the 2, and a 5 D monster). They always work, the beam is generally good, and for the money, they are a good value. They are NOT the best flashlight ever made... but for 20-30-40 bucks, they are a great flashlight for about 99% of what people need flashlights for...

If you REALLY need alot of quick light - i.e., you are planning to rely on this light for a tactical or self-defense situation, then I wouldn't buy a Mag Lite... ASP, Surefire (my favorite), Inova, etc., make much better flashlights for that situation. A Surefire C2 or Z2 model is about the size of a Mini-Mag but delivers about 5 times the light of the largest Mag LIte product... all without a focusable beam. The technology of SureFire is unparallelled, in my opine, but I think it is akin to comparing a Ferarri to a Ford... yeah, they're both cars, but that's about as far as the comparison should go... Also, most high-performance flashlights run for about an hour or so... Mag's will run longer. Also, you can go to any HD or hardware store and buy mags, batteries, lamps, etc.... try doing that with a SureFire... NOT. So there are comparative advantages and disadvantages to both...

Mag's products are good... but you get what you pay for and not every flashlight is suitable for every application. If you are a LE officer, military, etc., it's unlikely you will want Mag Lite as the product you're going to trust your life to.... they just are not bright enough to stun someone in a life and death situation... If you want a decent reliable flashlight for home emergency use, then Mag LIte is the best product you can possibly buy.

...I own both for different reasons... I just wish I owned a Ford and a Ferarri too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Becoming a dinosaur
There is a lot going on within the technology of flashlights recently. LED, Lithium batteries, focus bezels, etc. The Mag Instrument RX1019 Heavy-Duty Rechargeable Flashlight System is an OK rechargeable flashlight. But the technology today (ie from SureFire and others) has Mag Lights falling behind a bit technologically. For example, weight and size. IF you are in law enforcement and need and depend on escalating use of force (ie loud assured voice, large heavy flashlight, side arm, shot gun), MOST other situations only criteria for a good flashlight is how much light it puts out and the quality (no dead spots, etc) of that light. AND in the smallest, lightest package. This is where (IN GENERAL) MagLite has dropped off.
I must say (before I get a bunch of negative votes) that I have owned 20 or 30 Mags over my working career. And the product is very durable and they are proven reliable. But for the money, I've found that Surefire offers a more powerful beam of light. Surefire is lighter too.
I've had to depend on my MagLight many times but I've switched to SureFire. It's the 21st Century.

5-0 out of 5 stars Light up your life!
This light is awesome! With 40,000 candlewatt power it will light up your entire room in your house when the power goes out-which we here in Raleigh have experienced a lot in the past few years. With 1000 recharges possible it pays for itself over and over. Can't go wrong with this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.......but..........
The flashlight is brilliant, literally. Once it's charged for the first time it's unreal. And for occasional or rare usage it is extremely practical. But, if you use it for several hours a day, you may find that it takes too long to get a full charge back into the battery. In fact, the only chance you can get it to fully charge is over the weekend. Two batteries? How can you charge the spare battery pack when it has to be in the flashlight (which has to be in the charger) to recharge? Mag Instruments are apparently working on the problem, but to this date they do not have a rapid charger, or a charging cradle for a battery pack only. You could of course buy 2 flashlights and use them on alternate days. Rather expensive though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing clamps!
As of writing, I have only had my Quik-Grip clamps a single day, but I already absolutely love them! They are easily set up with only one hand, which is really convenient when clamping down a homemade fence for a router table, or anthing else that reguires the other hand to hold your workpiece down.
This package of clamps is a very good deal too. Ratcheting hand clamps are usually very expensive (the price of the two largest clamps from a home center is about the same as this entire package!). The description says you get 2 2" smaller clamps as well. I got 4! I don't know if this an error, but I'm not complaining!
Ratchet clamps, although expensive, are totally amazing. They are especially handy for sanding and routing, where vibration can undo screws. This package is a great deal and I haven't ruled out buying another set. These things are total time savers.
(And, if you ever get really bored, you can race them! We actually used to do that in my shop class!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive!
Once you start using these Quick-Grip clamps you will think that all other clamps are obsolete. They supply all the power you can possibly need and are so much quicker on and off that repositioning them is a snap. They take a lot of the "stress" out of having to race to get your glue-up clamped. As soon as I finished using them the 1st time I ordered more. ... Read more
