Amazon.com Review

Out of the box, this little ladder doesn't look like it's going anywhere. But start telescoping it and you almost can't believe your eyes. It extends to 12-1/2 feet from its closed height of 2-1/2 feet; plus, you can use the ladder in any of its 1-foot increments. Stainless-steel spring-loaded bolts inside the rungs lock into place as you extend the ladder. The rungs are made of processed aluminum, and serrated treads feel strong and secure under your feet. When you're done, you just tug on the locking rings, collapse the rungs down, and walk away with a 2-1/2-foot, 23-pound ladder under one arm. It takes virtually no space to store--put it under a bed, in a closet, in a car trunk--and totes anywhere. Clever as can be. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very handy ladder
We use this for satellite dish installation, and we are very pleased with its quality and durability. First we used the 10.5" version. However, we find the 12.5" version more useful. We highly recommend it to all of our dish installers. This is a light weight and easy to store ladder. No need to haul around long big ladders anymore. This will do for 90% of the jobs. Best regards Sadoun Satellite Sales

4-0 out of 5 stars Quality ladder in every way--But FOLLOW the instructions!
Like one of the reviews posted previously, I use the TeleSteps ladder for inspection. In that regard, it really has no equal; when it's all knocked down it is the smallest possible package in a quality ladder. When set up, it's a genuinely good 12 and 1/2 foot ladder. It's very light, sturdy and both well-thought out and made with a high degree of manufacturing quality.

Having said that, I will mirror what other reviewer state: If you don't read AND FOLLOW the instructions, you can/will find yourself in a bad place in a hurry. You must always start unstowing the ladder FROM the bottom, not the top (yes, they say you can start at the top if you're deploying it to the maximum extension. But I'd err on the side of conservative with this ladder). And at each rung, as you're raising it, two little detents pop into place. You must make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that these two little detents are LOCKED. Honestly, it might add up to a total of one whopping minute to make certain this is done, so in my opinion it's totally worth the time to ascertain that they have done so. If you do this, this is one nice ladder. If you get in a hurry, you may be in for a surprise. After reading the one reviewer that took a spill, I've gotten into the habit of double checking every detent, just to be sure.
If I had any suggestion for the Swedish manufacturer, it would be to somehow make the detents a bright safety red or something that would be visible, only when they're safely locked, so a user could easily see that the detents are adequately locked.
It's genuinely as 'high tech' a ladder as you can get and an godsend for inspection purposes. I can easily put it in the trunk of any car and the ability to selectively determine height is a handy feature. Highly recommended, extremely well made, but more than most products, one that absolutely requires you to read and follow the instructions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreams do come true
A a building inspector I enter beautiful homes on a daily basis. This compact ladder permits me to take a clean ladder into the home for access to attic spaces and other areas. Stored inside my work vehicle there is no dirt to apologize for. Also I save time. I no longer have to tie a long cumbersome ladder to the roof of my vehicle. Compact, fast, lightweight and clean. The Telesteps telescoping ladder is all of these. Plus, it is one of the highest quality tools that I own. My only wish is that it was available in 16 foot length.

3-0 out of 5 stars USE WITH CAUTION
This is a great tool for limited applications. 1st - I wouldn't put more than about 200 lbs on it. 2nd - it is fine to get yourself onto a roof or into an attic, but it is not solid enough to work from. 3rd - you must follow the instructions in opening it, especially being sure that every section locks in place, or it will collapse under you (I've heard several stories of this happening). 4th - keep it well lubricated with silicone spray (I carry a silicone spray can with the ladder at all times). I have used it satisfactorily for about three years. If you recognize its limits and are willing to work within them, the ladder is very useful. If you expect more from it, you will be disappointed and could get hurt.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
The best part of this ladder is how easy it is to get into tight spots. The second great thing is how peaple react to seeing me set it up. I would note that my model 106 10.5 foot ladder is most stable with a weight no greater than 180lb when fully extended. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Constructed of durable, rip-proof fabric, the new 56-pocket organizer from Bucket Boss improves on what was already a great idea. Unlike the toolboxes of old, the Bucket Boss organizer stores tools where they're visible and easy to access. And, with 38 exterior pockets and 18 more on the inside, the Bucket Boss really does have a place for just about everything. We've loaded ours down with wrenches, handsaws, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, pencils, utility knives, pliers, and drill bit sets. There's even a padded pocket for your cordless drill. We quickly discovered, however, that depending on how you load it, the Bucket Boss can get a little top-heavy. After ours tipped over in the back of our truck, we reloaded it with our hammerheads down, and it hasn't tipped since. We recommend the Bucket Boss 56 for remodelers, carpenters, electricians, repair people, or any other professional who brings a lot of hand tools to the job; it also makes the perfect tool kit for do-it-yourselfers moving through the house from room to room and project to project. --Jon Groebner ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I purchased this item for my husband and he couldn't have been more pleased. The deep pockets held all his tools securely with room to spare. He said it is the best tool organizer he ever had. Then he tossed his toolbox. :) I have since bought several of these for different male birthdays, all with the same results. Excellent!! Note: Bucket Boss is extremely sturdy. The canvas and seams are very well put together. You can load this up with no worries.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's not a top number in the Amazon Sales rank for nothing
At first I bought this as a novelty. Not realizing that it was to change the way I organize my workspace. Normally I rely on peg boards in my shop to house the usual screw drivers, hammer, and frequently used tools. The problem with that is that they don't usually get put away, unless I do a complete shop clean up. Which is why I have to go looking for them. My number one pet peeve is looking for stuff. Not only is is wasted time, but it interrupts my work flow. Now I use the Bucket Boss 56 Organizer to house all of my most frequently used tools, and I bring my tools to the work. I also went to Sears and bought an INEXPENSIVE red metal Utility Cart that has four substantial wheels in a shopping cart configuration (two fixed, two universal) and they all lock, with a tray shelf at the bottom, and one at the top. I put the Bucket Boss in the bottom tray, which only takes up part of the lower tray space. In it, is everything imaginable, and after using it for awhile, I know right where it is. The best way to get the work flow going, is to be able to grab what you need, when you need it, and it is there every time, and have a place to rest it, or immediately put it away. With this combination, I roll the tools over to the work area, and I have an upper shelf to set things on during the project. It wouldn't be possible without the bucket boss.
With mechanics tools, we use a multi-drawer tool box. Since everything is hidden, it takes some time to learn exactly where everything is. With the Bucket Boss, you have a reminder, everytime you glance at it.
My only complaint is that their are so many pockets I can't justify buying another one. :-) That's how much I like this thing.
Knowing that I can simply lift the bucket boss out of the bottom tray using the handle that comes with the bucket, and take it with me no matter where I go, gives me the mobility, and organizational system I use in the shop and on the go! One system, one set of tools, for all locations. The cart is so light, I wouldn't hesitate to take it along as well.
By the way the Bucket Boss does not come with the bucket, but considering the cost of a 5 gallon white plastic bucket at [the store], that is not a major item. I know it would probably cost more to ship the bucket than it would to buy one locally. So it makes sense.
For on the job, it makes a very good impression. It looks organized. Combine this with one of their parts organizers, and you will not only, not have to go looking for your tools, that washer, locknut, screw, bolt, or anything else you want, will be at your fingertips as well. No having to run back out to the truck everytime I need a bolt, or nut, or screw, etc.
I can tell you it is made out of great material that will last for a long long time, or that the pockets are multi-sized and shaped to fit near anything you may use, but what I really want to tell you is that this thing is engineered. Engineered to simplicity. That makes it one of the most frequently used pieces of equipment. It is great because it works. Not just because it is very inexpensive, for all of the utility, you will get out of it, but because it works, and works well. Get into the Boss and watch your productivity zoom!

5-0 out of 5 stars who gets custody if we divorce???
I love this tool organizer!!! I bought it for my husband for Christmas because I thought it looked cool. He didn't seem interested in it, so I took it and began using it for my own tools (we each keep our own set), and then he fell in love with it too! I was continually having to go find my tools because he had swiped them, bucket and all. So I went to Home Depot and bought him a bucket organizer they had in stock, different brand. A week later he's whining about how he likes mine better, so since I bought it for him in the first place, I switched with him and now he has the good one. I think I need to order a second one because he's right -- the other brand is not as good as this one. Damn good thing I love him so much, but if we split, I want custody!! This is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surreal!
It is simply mind boggling how useful and efficient this item turned out to be. It holds all but the longest handtools (2 foot plus levels, etc)with easy access. Of course, nothing is perfect, so here are my suggestions for future improvements: deeper bellows on a couple of the lower tier pockets and a shallow series of slots for mini screwdrivers (smaller screws seem to be the latest trend). This could be done by replacing the elastic strap at the upper edge with a looped belt of the same basic material as the Bucket Boss

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet product...
Hey, this IS a great product just like most ALL of the other reviewers have indicated and regarding the idiot "A home improvement enthusiast from Eugene, Oregon" and her "Where's the bucket?" remarks... Come on are you a total F---ing moron or what!? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for tailgating.
My wife always said she prefered staying at home and watching the games on TV to going to the stadium. Now she can have the best of both worlds!

Seriously though; When I first got my season tickets I resolved to pick up a couple of items a year to enhance the tailgating experience. My wife got me the Fire and Ice grill for Christmas and I picked up the Xantex Power Inverter and then went shopping for an inexpensive TV at a yard sale. We used to bring a small set designed to keep kids occupied on long road trips and had to sit in the cab of my truck leaning together to watch. (OK for me and my wife, akward for me and my brother, downright unnerving for me and a friend of mine) Well, No more!! I can't wait to set up this baby with a 20" plus screen in the back. Here's hoping for more late games this year so I can enjoy freezing in a parking lot watching the early game with large quantities of grilled meat!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very useful
We bought this power inverter to power our daughters nebulizer and a t.v. and playstation for the kids on road trips. The only problem we had with it is when your using over 150 watts power you are supposed to hardwire it. That requires additional wiring. Other than that it is an excellent product at an excellent price!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Survived the North East blackout
It couldn't be a better time. Yesterday noon I got the X-Power 400 delivered by UPS, and in few hours it was put to its ultimate test. Yes we were hit by the 08/14 Thursday North East Blackout. But with the help of the X-Power 400, I was able to hookup the 13"TV and Dish receiver. Enought to spend the restof the evening siting in the desk and watching the CNN news update and TV programs with family and friends. I love the cigrette adapter and the battery clips.

I used the battery clips to get power from my car battery.

I recommend X-Power 400 for any regular household use. If you are planning to operate power tools, I suggest get the 700 or above.

This 400 is smart, small in size packed with all the energy to keep your entertainment rolling without any interrruption. My original intention to use my Laptop on my roadtrips, but this proved to be much more useful than just powering the laptop.

Since it tips the scales at just 66 pounds, it’s incredible that this little unit can output 2,800 watts. Not only that, but it’s a good deal quieter than other generators in its class. The inverter system with Pulse Width Modulation delivers such a stable voltage that you can run products with built-in microcomputers or microcomputer-controlled electric tools off this generator. A nice innovation is the "Economy Control" electrical governor: It matches engine speed to the electrical demand, so if you’re camping and just running a CD player, the engine downshifts to supply that much power, again reducing noise to about 60 decibels. Plug in something else, and power increases accordingly. Another nice feature is the Oil Watch warning system that shuts the unit down before the oil is low, and won't let you restart until oil is added. Because it’s light, compact, and quieter, this is the ideal generator to keep on hand at home for power outages and a smart buy for the job site, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The generator specs and looks are fine, but....
No where in Amazon's presentation of this item is the fact that you will need an "isolation switch," also called a "transfer switch" at some stores. This is a [$$] item that allows you to switch off the electric power line from your utility company while you are using the generator to feed power to your home. This protects utility workers from electrocution that could occur if you backfeed electricity into the power grid. It protects your home circuits and appliances from overload when the utility power comes back on. Neither Amazon nor Yamaha mentions the fact that the Yamaha generator requires a particular locking plug for the AC output, and does not provide the NEMA number that you have to match when buying the power cord taking power out of the Yamaha to your home's electrical supply input. Yamaha's manual is ridiculously inadequate about how to set up this device, though the details for maintenance and safety seem pretty thorough. But you have to be able to use it, and using it requires a frustrating process just to know what parts to buy. And then there's the cost of an electrician to install the isolation switch. No plug-'n-play here.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lightweight, heavyweight!
When I opened the box and saw this little generator, I thought I was in trouble. But this 2800 watt Yamaha is the new inverter model. Not sure what that means, but it is very light weight but really puts out the juice. We ran 2 screwguns, 2 - 500 watt quartz lights and our radio and this Yamaha barely ran above idle. It weighs half of what our old junker weighs, runs 4 to 5 times longer on a gallon of gas and purrs quiet as a kitten. We have been using this wonderful generator for over a year with no problems at all. It's Yamaha inverter generators for our crews from now on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Durable, Efficient, and Economical Power Generator!
When I started construction on a cabin in the woods of northern New hampshire, I wanted to be sure I had a reliable alternative source of eleectrical power both for the construction effort and for time later when the basic power would be unavailable, as in an ice storm or other power outage. I was pleased to find this state of the art model from Yamaha because it had both an enthralling list of desireable features and was within the budgetary figure I had in mind for the generator.

That said, I have been thrilled with just how powerful, durable, reliable and economical it has been both to own and to use. Yamaha truly has created a super quiet, small, and light generator, the best of its kind. it is a 2800 watt generator that emplys inverter technology. It's well suited for equipment requiring a stable frequency and voltage. Voltage output stability very "clean", so it can power microcomputers or sophisticated electronics, a feature we appreciate as we can use it evenings to power a laptop. When power demand power is low, the generator runs at a low engine speed, then, as power demand increases, engine speed increases in a corresponding power curve. This Yahama inverter system meets my needs superbly, and I can highly recommend it. Enjoy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Needs at least 1 or 2 shelves included
This is a solid body storage building exactly as advertised. My goal was to store a mower, trimmer, blower, gas and miscellaneous items. I had to build a shelf (not included) notch it to fit and install it before putting roof in place. It works great for gas and miscellaneous items leaving room for taller items but they must be tilted some. If you have a mower with retractable handles (which I do not) it will fit in this building. (So mower is still out) Other than that it has cleared up the mess in the back and locks the flammables up too.

Be careful to read instructions because it would be very difficult to take pieces apart after clicked into place.

If you are planning to store a mower I would recomend a larger unit just for ease of use. This one is great for a lot of gardening supplies but I think they should provide at least 2 or more shelves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good inside design for maximum usage
You can put up to 6 shelves inside to fully use all the cubic space available. But you may just need 4 and leave the lower two open for big size items to be stored. Rubbermaid has a similar size shed but it can only accept three shelves and waste a lot of spaces. The Rubbermaid shed uses much fewer pieces to assembly than this one. The assmbly is pretty easy if you follow the manu but it does take some time (1-2 hours). After I finished the assembly there were some rain and the inside was try except a couple of water drops. The only concern is its sturdiness since it's assembled with 28 pieces and so far so good. I don't expect it can stand a ternado or hurricane. One thing I wan to alert you: when you buy the shelves do measure the inside and ignore the manu since if you buy the side according it yuo will find the shelves will shift too much to the left or right. You want them more stable, right?

This seems like a strong, versatile ladder. I moved into a new place and needed a tall ladder for outdoors and a short ladder for indoor use. This ladder can do both. The instruction sheet says ANSI type 2 duty rating, 225 LB Working Load and EN-131 Maximum Permissable Load 330 LBS. I have seen more expensive ladders in the store rated for less weight, and they were not adjustable. As others have said, the instructions are not great, but using the ladder is much easier than the instructions make it out to be. Just follow your common sense. The moving parts are quite self-explanatory.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cosco ladder great for condo owners
I own a condo with nine foot ceilings so I needed a ladder to safely reach that high to replace lightbulbs. My condo has very limited storage space so I needed a ladder that would fit in a closet. The Cosco fills both these needs well. It looks complicated to set up at first, but the instructions and included video make it real easy. The ladder is rather heavy, but that proves to be a benefit since it feels very safe and solid when climbing on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ladder
This ladder is awesome! It might take a minute to figure out how to set it up in all its functions, but it's well worth the time. This ladder is very sturdy, heavy enough to keep from wobbling, but light enough that I can carry it around (I'm not the strongest girl). I live in an apartment with high ceilings, and it's perfect for getting to a ceiling fan or above the cabinets. I would recommend it without hesitation. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mullet not required!
Mullet Buster? Interesting name - great tool belt. I bought this primarily because of the padded suspenders. I don't like standard tool belts which fall down after a while unless you tighten them up well, which doesn't feel comfortable to me. The suspenders put the weight on your shoulders which works better for me. It also looks impressive!

An insane amount of storage pockets are on this belt, and the cell phone pocket on the suspenders (which do come off by the way) is handy. It puts the phone closer to where you can hear it. I used to hate never hearing my phone when strapped to my waist in an noisy environment. Actually, there is a second phone pocket around the waist area, which is handy if you have a cell phone and a 2-way radio, you can protect them both. Clever!

I'd definately recommend this tool belt. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice and simple
The rack and the 30 clamps arived without a scratch.Assembly is easy.

However, I would make one modification.Instead of installing the cross supports in an X configuration (across the bottom) as suggested in the instructions, cut them down and use them on the outside, between the two frame halves (like a ladder crosspiece). You will need four extra bolts. The advantage, though, is that you could release one side of each brace and fold the unit up to store it against a wall. Some adjustments to the placement of the clamp hanging rods may be necessary to allow the fold, but that flexibility is already built in with the use of hairpin clips to secure the rods.

Can't wait to take it to the shop and hang up all my other clamps (plenty of room to spare). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Everybody Is Different
I thought I would like this tool system. I have all the same complaints about my old tool belt as everyone else. Hurts the lower back, makes bending difficult, etc.... This suspender system seemed like a good idea, and it is. Just not for me. I tried it around the house for a few hours and noticed that when I reached over my head, the stiff shoulder pads pushed on the sides of my neck, though these may get softer with wear. And that my shoulder muscles had to lift the entire weight of the bags when reaching upwards.
Also, these bags are BIG and WIDE! You will have to be careful if you are a remodel carpenter, walking through finished doorways and hallways.
Still, this rig is very well made and if you need to carry lots of heavy tools and want to give your lower back and your waist a rest, this may work for you. It's a trade off.

3-0 out of 5 stars Take Carefull Consideration!!
I purchased this belt set last January and I was impressed with how it relieved the stress on my lower back. I was also relieved of waist rot from conventional tool belts. The suspenders were easy to set up with the instructions included. Break in takes about a full week. Pouches do hold lots of tools.
As hotter weather came along, the suspenders hold a lot of sweat (later they began to smell). But I also noticed it was very uncomfortable when the suspenders wouldn't allow for your upper body to cool off. My shoulders also began to chaf.
As for movement, the system doesn't cling to you. But working in very close quarters, (i.e. lifts, steel joists, some scaffolding, etc.) it was easy to get hung up and scrape against walls.
I am considering selling my suspension belt, but pondering the fact that its not a bad set to own if you switch between this system and the belt a few times a year. That way I wouldn't wear out body parts to quickly.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Best Available
I owned the pro framer for years; then sold it to a helper for $... and he was happy. I bought the Pro Trimmer but was disapointed because the speed square holster (between the small and large bag) was not available on a rig of this size. After awhile I forked over the big bucks for the Stronghold System-the best there is. Oh I've read the reviews:adjustment-if you can't adjust this system you probably shouldn't be doing carpentry;the yoke; heavy duty, extreme quality products take time to break in-like good leather work boots or the Carhartts that last longer than anything else; the back strain relief; a no brainer-buy a weight belt and wear it along with the system-there is no belt to interfere; lastly, if you wear a framing belt in a finished house or around cabinets your going to mess something up-don't do it-I build cabinets and built-ins and do general carpentry for a living. The only criticism I have(the part about the missing star)is that this product should be available with the lightweight, green leather bags. After 1 year the nylon shows signs of extreme wear at the front corners. If Occidental Leather would do this for us I would be one of the first to buy them even for $... . I will wear this for as long as I work! The writing is on the wall; perfect this product and it will be a five star masterpiece second to none.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love it!
I have the Stronghold system in leather, which [is no longer listed]... I think it is first rate in functionality and comfort, and wouldn't return to a belt. I think you have to analyze your needs and body type carefully: this system isn't always going to work better, for instance reaching up can be tiring, though that is true of suspender. If you have the kind of body that rides a belt, without suspenders, and it never shifts, binds, or restricts your breath, good for you, stay with the belt. It takes, however, only a few inches on the waist, whether from brownies or winter clothes for me to be hauling on a belt all day long.

Another issue to look at is back pain. This system puts all the strain on your shoulders, were it flows down through your spine, and you don't have a big belt supporting the small of your back. That works out better with my back pain, but it may not for yours.

I am 6'1", and I have no problem fitting this strap set. I like my knuckles to drag in the bottom of the deepest nail bag, which is a higher setting than many prefer. The bags by themselves are unique, and would fit nicely on a safety harness if the inspector prowls your worksite.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beltless tool bag review
Whats good:

1. The bag is made of very durable materials and should stand up to many years of jobs site use. 2. There are plenty of pockets to hold small items such as tape, pencil, knife, screw drivers, etc. at very convenient reach. 3. Slips on and off in seconds. 4. Allows the user to bend at different angles with out being confined by a belt around the waist. 5. Pouches are less likely to spill contents when working at different bent over positions. 6. Two large pockets to hold larger sized tools.

Whats not so good:

1. The system is difficult to adjust for use the first time out of the box. (Set up is done only once so this is a minor pain only) 2. The shoulder pads, although very comfortable, will get dreanched with sweat if you work in the heat. (I need to think of something for the odor?) 3. The system does not remove weight from your lower back as I had thought it might. You can carry a ton of tools with this system, but you will feel it by the end of the day.

I install siding, windows and do general carpentry. This bag gives me flexiblity and capacity that I didn't get with my old belt. I like the system and would recommend it to people that feel confined by belts or that are looking for a good capacity well organized system.

Hope this is helpful ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Makita Quality at a Great Price
I decided to upgrade my generator from the 2500 watt Coleman I was using. It would barely run a refrigerator. We had a terrible ice storm here in Durham NC a few months ago. I was without power for three days and we were luck it was only that long. I did alot of research into generators. Here's what I found. Honda gens are wonderful but expensive. Grenerac is garbage for long term use. Read the reviews if you doubt. Makita built by Robin compare feature to feature and quality wise with Honda. I like the way Robin builds their engines, all ball bearing construction. No sleave bearings here. I have use this gen twice so far and it will power my whole house no problem. The control panel on this gen is well layed out. I used a outlet box with a twist lock plug to feed power into my main pannel. By the way Amazon has the best price on these gens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Generator for the price!
Just recievd the Makita G6100R 6100 Watt Generator and was very impressed on how it worked. Filled with oil and gas, gave one pull on the starter cord and started to run. Ran my entire house on the generator (with a 20 AMP twist lock plug wired into my circuit panel)for 5 hours with no problems. Has great features normally found on higher priced models. Idle switch is great along with smooth and QUIET running Robin (Subaru made) engine. Can't beat the price either! Get the wheel kit, this generator is heavy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Makita Generator 12/2/00
As a custom homebuilder, I have owned many different brands of generators including Honda, generac, coleman, yamaha, and John Deere. This Makita has been as good or better than any and is easily the best for the dollar. Especially well liked by my men is the auto idle feature along with the fact that even at open throttle this unit is very quiet, very important whe running 8 hours a day. The only problem I've had so far in 6 months use is a broken starter rope. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Will Keep You Wet
I really get a lot of enjoyment wearing my Occ.5055, great weight distribution on the shoulders, and adds to the "professionalism". One problem wearing such a rig in sunny southern Calif. Is that it has a tendency to draw out excessive moisture from your body, the "yoke" covers a great deal of you back and after wearing it the first few consecutive days I developed a skin rash dead center of my back and on my front shoulders. Aside of this, I still wear it cause it's hard to find a alternative system with the same "qualities". As for the "rivets" stop by any hobby shop and pick up a few extras or do like I did, use large "aluminum" pop rivets to pin down your bags/holsters.

5-0 out of 5 stars If only more products worked this well....
I'll admit it--I'm a snake-hipped electrician. You've all seen it before: toolbelt working the pants down towards the knees, tidy whities riding high. It's not a pretty sight. I had tried the usual suspenders that can't take the load, always get in the way, and come unclipped at a strong glance. When I first heard about the Stronghold suspension system, I was definitely interested--if a little leery of the $70 price tag. That's almost what I had invested in my whole toolbelt.
Well, I took the leap and boy howdy am I glad I did. The workmanship is first rate, the materials are hard-core solid, and the design is impeccable. I've had my Strongholds for almost three years of daily use now, and they are still going strong.
The padded yoke distributes the bag's weight evenly across my shoulders, even when the bags are unevenly loaded. I can leave my belt unsnapped in the front for greater ease of movement or easy shedding, and my tools are still right at hand. There's a heavy duty hanging ring conveniently located on the padded yoke, so I can set a nail in a stud and hang the whole affair up off the ground at lunch time. Like another reviewer, I find the chest strap the perfect place to hang my cel phone.
My toolbelt has velcro on the belt that keeps the individual bags in place, so I had no problems with the supplied four beltloops sliding, unlike other reviewers. I'm glad I used the beltloops, as it allows me to disassemble the entire belt for rearranging pockets or washing.
My only nit to pick with this product is that Occidental Leather should provide extra rivets. I bunged one up when first setting up my suspenders, and it took careful work to salvage it. Having a spare set, as other reviewers have noted, would be handy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent system if installed correctly
I found this system very comfortable except for one flaw. It comes with two ways of attaching to your belt: first by means of four leather loops that go around the belt the D rings are rivited to the loops and the suspenders clip on to the D rings, second with the D rings rivited directly to the belt. Myself I wasn't ready to commit to attaching the rings right to the belt in case the position wasn't quite right. The problem with the leather loops is that they slide toward the middle of the back of the belt when your bags are loaded. This causes the otherwise excellent padded yoke to work its way down you back as you bend and straighten throughout the day. This is extremly irritating. The system comes with only one set of rivits so unless you jury rig your own attachment, your stuck. I recommend using a jury rigged temporary attachment before commiting the rivits to a final position as another reviewer mentioned. When you do attach the D rings make sure the are far enough apart in back to keep the yoke from sliding down and you will have an excellent system. If Occidental had included two sets of rivits I would give the system four stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars A first rate system
The Stronghold Suspension System is, without qualification, the finest suspension system on the market today. Quality materials and workmanship clearly standout from the minute you unpack the product. The assembly instructions are clear, straight forward, easy to follow and accurate. Once you have the suspenders on your belt it will take a little adjusting to find the perfect fit. Generally, in a day or two ,you will have them dialed in and working as advertised. An additional set of D rings and copper rivets would be a nice touch if you want to mount directly to your belt and get away from the straps after the adjustment period. At 6'1" I have about 6" of additional adjustment available and I wear the belt a couple of inches below my waist. This is a quality product that performs extremely well. At first I thought the chest strap was a bit of overkill but it proved to be the perfect place to clip a cell phone. This is one of those rare products that actually works at a level beyond your expectations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Stronghold
Really good system. Capable of supporting lots of weight comfortably. I've read that they don't fit tall guys. I'm 5'8" and had a lot of strap to cut off. If you're buying a tool belt with your stronghold system get the belt oversized so you can leave it loose and have room to adjust your bags. You will be adjusting for a few weeks to get the perfect fit. I used wax cord to hold accessories in various positions untill I found the most comfort, then I got two-sided rivets from a tack shop and pinned them in place. Sounds like a lot of trouble but when you're done you will find that you almost feel as good with your bags on as you do with them off. P.S. Don't waste your money on the standard suspenders. I reviewed those too ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It's just a fan
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the other reviews on this item made it sound like this fan was some miraculous new advance in electric fan technology. I bought it, and I'm satisfied with my purchase, but so far it hasn't radically changed my life and I'm not in any hurry to tell all my friends to go out and buy 10 of them. It's a fan. You turn it on, it blows air. It doesn't seem to blow air any further than any other fan I've had. It works fine in my average-sized bedroom. It is pretty quiet and is small, two features I like. I think I'd like it a little more if it had the ability to oscillate back and forth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Power in a Small Package
You cannot find a more powerfull fan in such a small package. It has stepless speed control. At the highest speed it blasts as much air as a massive box fan on high except it does it in a higher velocity compact stream of air. It is amazing how this stream stays together over a long distance without much divergance. This meant I could use it to channel air directly into my bedroom 25 feet and two rooms away from my single window unit airconditioner. It is somewhat noisy at its highest speed because of that massive volume of air being moved. At its lowest speed it gives a nice breeze and is very quiet.

5-0 out of 5 stars All Hail the Tiny Tornado!
This little "air circulator" is to fans what the Bose Wave Radio is to stereo systems: you simply can't believe the amount of output coming from such a compact source. It seems to transcend physical reality. As a drummer in a doo wop band, I have used one of these "Tiny Tornados" onstage for a number of years now, and nothing else comes close when it comes to blowing a strong, quiet stream of air to keep me cool. Other musicians interested in using the fan for this purpose will be pleased to hear that the little Vornado has NEVER given off any hum or unwanted electrical noises that showed up in a sound system, despite the constant suspicions of band members and sound technicians alike. I don't know what to make of the one other customer who was disappointed by this fan, unless he accidentally bought an inferior copycat version -- there are some around -- made by another company. Simply the best little fan in the world!

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a keeper, but just one caveat...
I bought this fan because I wanted something to run during the night at low speed that would not make the noise my hardy old box fan does.

And it is perfect for that purpose, creating just the right breeze that will keep you cool, without disturbing.

So I agree with everything else that has been written about this.

I will just say that there is one thing this little guy cannot do, which is draw in cool air from outside when you place it at the window. Nothing beats your $10 box fan in that.

WIth one of each, you're just about covered...

5-0 out of 5 stars Fan-myster! Faboulous
I will never forget the summer of 1986, wife pregnant and the central air zonked out. I ran to the nearest large store to grab a fan and actually i was going to grab any fan. I was walking down the fan isle when i noticed 3 to 4 people grouped in front of this small looking yet powerful fan. They were laughing and feeling good. It obviously made everyone cooler. I noted the blades were quite different allowing them to circulate air at a awsome speed. The output shocked and amazed me. I got lucky and grabbed the last one and headed home. Please dont take my word for it just go see a demo. Mine is still working great to this day.My son Peter enjoys it as much as we do! This fan is a winner in all ways. Thanks for listening to Bill ... Read more
