3-0 out of 5 stars good stand, lousy instructions
This looked like the best stand for my Makita ls1013. First box came with more than have the pieces damaged! How can that happen? The second unit came with mimimal damage, not enough to worry about but not perfect. Problems: 1)one of the tabs that holds bolts for the table was off by about 1/4 inch compared to the others. Didn't affect anything but where's the QC? 2)The instructions made no mention of the diagonal support struts or the difference in bolt size to hold them. not hard to figure out - service center said I must have accidently gotten a old manual - funny because my first damaged unit had the same old instructions. 3) instructions say to measure height of the saw platform and then mount the stand table this far down from the wings. 2 problems with this, first there is no one place on the wings that is a reference point, you need to lay a long straight edge along the wing to get the average. However the wings have some adjustment too so there is no real reference point. With a lot of trial and error I managed to get it very close and proceeded to mount the saw to the table. First had to mount the extra bracket for the makita (no real good instruction for getting this even with the table itself - ended up clamping two straight edges to the table and then clamping the bracket to the straight edges). Second, Got the saw mounted and tightened down and went back to check the saw table to the wings and realized I was about 1/16 to low!!! Turns out that there are rubber feet on the bottom of the saw that got compressed by the bolts, accounting for the difference. Already had the saw mounted to the table but needed to raise it. Figured out the best way was to turn some of my clamps into spreaders to jack up the table after loosening the bolts. This worked pretty well but still had to mess around with the wings ( the wing adjustment changes the angle, not really the height), Called service and told them about this and my "new and improved way" to adjust the table height and he said that's the way everybody at the company does it!!! and he didn't know why that method wasn't in the instructions. They had never considered the problem of the compression of the feet 4) now on to the tape measure. they give you two little allen wrench looking wires that are supposed to hold the edge of the tape off the rail so the exposed glue doesn't stick to the metal before you're ready. I couldn't get this to work, not enough space under the rule to accept the spacer. Service said that they knew that didn't work and everyone just ignored this part of the instructions. If you were really careful you could slide the tape in and it would stick until you were ready. This did work.

I could not believe that the real way you put this thing together was so different than the instructions and that the service guy was willing to admit it. Makes you wonder what is going on that they won't admit to.

Finally got it up and running and it seems like a decent unit, fence is nice and accurate and the foot print is small when folded down. still need to figure out a dust collection shroud.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on cheaper stands!
I bought the Delta Universal Miter Saw Stand first. I thought I could save $100. Boy, was I sorry. It was too big, too complex and too narrow for my PC saw. I gave it away and bought the Rousseau XL model. It's sturdy, easy to store and move and the wings with the fence system is ideal. Don't waste your money like I did. Go for the gold!

5-0 out of 5 stars High-quality stand in a compact footprint
This is a sturdy roll-around stand great for use in a crowded shop or garage. When not in use it has a small footprint and can be parked out of the way. When you need it, there's no complicated set-up. The wings pop up easily and you're ready to go.

I'm using it with a Makita LS1013 which is quite a large sliding compund saw. There's a long L-shaped extrusion available for [money] that bolts to the back of the saw stand to increase the table depth by 2".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
I bought this stand for my Hitachi C10FSK saw. I've been using it for a few weeks on a cabinet building project and love it. What a back saver! I wish I'd purchased this years ago when I first bought the saw. It really speeds the set-up and tear down process in a small shop where mulitple tools share a small space. Absolutely love the dual folding wing functionality and design. So easy and accurate to use, assuming care is taken in the initial assembly of the stand (in particular the squaring of the stand with your saw and the application of the measuring tape). It's such a pleasure to cut stock without having to pencil mark cut points and align the mark with the saw blade. The flip down stock stops take care of this. These stock stops are very nice to work with and reading the measuring scale accurately is simple with the clean markings and the thin but clear hatch mark. I have to say that with one exception, everything works smoother than expected. Even the wheels work great and can ride over 1/2" high offset from crack and settling in my concrete floor with no problem. The only thing I see needing improvement is the attachment weld tab sizes for the two rear cross bars that help to square and stiffen the stand. There was a slight interference between the x-bar and the weld bead on my stand. This caused no problem other than a slight deformation of the bar when the screw was tightened. Nothing that affects the functionality of the stand. It's a well built, strong high quality product with superior fit and finish. Enjoy one for yourself!

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY PRACTICAL SAW STAND!
WHEN LOOKING AT THE VARIOUS MITRE SAW STANDS ON THE MARKET THIS ONE REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE. IT IS BUILT TO BE VERY STRONG AND STABLE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT IS EXTREMELY MOBILE AND ADAPTABLE TO ANY SIZE SHOP. ANOTHER FEATURE THAT I FOUND VERY APPEALING WAS THE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY FROM THE COMPANY. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST CONVENIENT ACCESSORIES TO HAVE IN A WORK AREA! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A little too Tall
The ladder woks great except where one has 8 ft ceilings. When I moved upstairs to paint, I discovered this dilemma. I can stand on a lower step, but they are not a comfortable platform when you are up on the ladder for the better part of an afternoon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Of its Kind
I have had this ladder for about a year now and it has been about the most stable, versatile, handy ladder I have ever used. It holds a bucket of paint, or tools, or whatever you need on the tray that extends down. My wife uses it reach hard to clean things like fans and corners. This ladder definatly a step above most others like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars UNBELIEVABLE
I didn't think a ladder could be so exciting but this one is, compared to regular ladders, this one is a must, the steps are much wider, great when hanging lamps, changing bulbs, etc, you don't have to worry about balancing and your feet don't get cramps in them from the rungs, like on a regular ladder. Has all kinds of compartments and extras added on so that you dont have to keep going up and down to get parts, everything is there so the ladder can be loaded at one time, really is a great timesaver too. Be sure and get this model the next time you need or are wanting to change ladders, its the best in my book ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars What a Great Idea
Too bad the manufactures of this tool never got past the hardware store component prototype version. Buy it if you must, it does work well, but you could easily replicate this thing almost perfectly with parts from your local hardware store. When my order arrived, I felt as though I had just been hoodwinked. I originally ordered both the tall and short versions and all of the extensions, but after realizing what they were, I kept the Mini-Brut and returned everything else and got the extensions at the hardware store for relatively little cost.

4-0 out of 5 stars unpaid helper
A friend loaned to me his T-Jak to use when I install cabinets. I used to put a cleat on the wall first, leaving holes from screws after removing. Since I started using the T-Jak, I've been able to install 3 to 4 more cabinets per day, It's like having a helper, and not having to pay him. I install the bases first, then the uppers. If during installation, it turns out that I have to raise or lower the cabinet, it's just a simple turn of the screw to move it up or down. My only complaint is that the base of the T-Jak is a bit small and is prone to tipping, but I remidied that by attaching a 12" x 18" piece of plywood to the bottom for added stability. If you install cabinets on a regular basis, you should buy this tool! ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Cleverly called the Forearm Forklift, these handy adjustable lifting straps make carrying heavy and hard-to-handle furniture and appliances remarkably easy. Using the Forearm Forklift, two people can carry large, heavy objects at a low center of gravity, only inches off the ground. As a result, you don't have to bend way down to pick up the object, and you don't have to stoop awkwardly to clear doorways. The Forearm Forklift also helps you move objects over sensitive floors--such as wood, vinyl, or tile--without the same risk of causing scuffs or damage. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars BAD
This ad is false. This is not the only moving system to be OSHA accepted. I tried the product and it was absolutely horrible. It made my arms start to tingle like they were falling asleep.

The Forearm Forklift was felt extremely dangerous on stairs. This product is just plain bad and claims to be much more then it is. Don't Buy It!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Strong, secure and fast
We bought these to help deliver furniture at my store. They're great for all of our inventory, even the super heavy stuff. In fact, they make it feel lighter. ???
FYI-for furnishings with legs, we just put them underneath. But, for the flat bottomed pieces we cross the straps once underneath and we've never had them slip out. They're even good on stairs.
Not only do they keep our dollies off our cust.'s floors, but they also work to get in and out faster. Use them if you can. I recommend them cause they work!

4-0 out of 5 stars Forearm forklift helped in a jam
Not to long ago I moved into a new home. I used the forearm forklift many times. I found it was ideal for moving big items, for example my 65" projection tv, which weighs roughly 350lbs. Without the forearm forklift it took 4 men to move, with the forearm forklift it took 2! The only downside to this product is using it to go up or downstairs with big items. It is not easy almost scary, I found it to be safer to not use the straps then pick them up after the steps.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dad and brother to the rescue
I just graduated from UNLV and had tons of heavy, rustic furniture that I had accumulated over 5 1/2 years. My Dad's a little older, but my brother told him about these straps he bought here a while back apparently. Since they helped me move this summer my Dad has been telling all of my uncles. HOW COME IT MADE IT SOOOO EASY FOR THEM? At one point they even let my no exercising self carry around my huge armoire.
Guess what Dad's getting from X-Mas? I can't wait till he opens them.
By the way, my bro actually works as a flooring guy and says he uses them everyday or so. How cool! I recommend them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Limited uses, but works great for large, heavy items
A bit overpriced...but handy. Used these for my husband and me to carry a thick queen-sized mattress and box springs up 2 steep flights of twisting stairs on a recent move. Usually I'm a wimp when it comes to carrying heavy, unwieldy things, but was able to be of real help with this item - made it easy and maneuverable. Can't figure out where to get them, but I wish I had the "X" carrying strap that the manufacturer describes in their package, however, since that seems very necessary to use this to carry smaller items without legs (like bookcases) without having the straps slip off. ... Amazon.com Review

Quiet and built of durable plastic, this device circulates air throughout a room at home, at the office, or in a college dorm. Use it alone or with an air conditioner to cool in the summer and to circulate heat evenly throughout a room in winter. Its 72-watt motor combines with a deep-pitch propeller and a cunning grille design to move air in a tight beam. The head pivots from horizontal to vertical. It has an infinitely variable speed control (from 800 to 2,400 rpm), stands 12 inches high, has a 9-1/2-inch-diameter head, weighs 5 pounds, and carries a five-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Impressed
I just received this Vornado Fan and although UPS mangled the box, the fan itself is great. I was highly impressed by the quality and the air output of this fan. For it's size it will really amaze you. The continuously variable speed is great!!!. It's not like a regular fan that has 1. 2. 3 settings you can adjust it to any output. It's whisper quiet at its lower setting but relatively loud at it's highest. The noise doesn't come from the motor but from the deep scoops of the fan blades themselves....it maybe a little loud at the higher setting but for the amount of air that it can push, highly worth it!!! The Grill and fan blade comes off easily for cleaning and Vornado offers a 5 year warranty on this model. I would recommend it to anyone

5-0 out of 5 stars The Little Black Fan That Could!
I call my new Vornado 'The Little Black Fan That Could'. It's saved my life! Or at least my productivity. I plunk it down near a window and it blows fresh, cool air inside whenever it gets hot up here. My little black fan chugs on and on and on, all day and night long if I want it to with nary a complaint, which might make it even better than a boyfriend ;) It packs a mean punch, a lot more than my big, loud, cumbersome oscillating fan. I also really love the variable slide-speed thingy, which lets me decide exactly how much cool air I want. And if I move into another room, the Vornado comes with me without any lugging a big fan around.

If you are having problems with heat or air circulation, get this fan. I mean it. It looks expensive, but it's the best fan you'll ever own.

5-0 out of 5 stars FAN-tastic Buy!
This fan is mighty powerful and the best thing about it is the fact that it's very quiet. Of all the fans I've tried this size, this is the quietest. Especially on low....you'll hardly hear it running. Great for moving a little extra air conditioning into another room. Well made. Durable. Sturdy. For the few extra dollars for a fan this size, it's adds up to a great value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vornado rocks!
It arrived today. It's June in Atlanta and I've been searching for a fan to help cool my home office. I didn't want to go to the expense of installing a ceiling fan, and felt sure that an inexpense floor or table fan would suffice. Unfortunately, I initially went to my local Target store. First I bought a 17-inch tilt-up floor fan made by Honeywell. I soon discovered that the on/off switch was cheap and that the lowest setting was enough to fly a kite in here. I took it back. My next choice was an oscillating fan on a floor stand. Cheap, cheap, cheap workmanship-- plus, you had to assemble it. The motor was metal and seemed durable enough, but once mounted, it sagged sadly toward the floor-- the plastic apparatus and stand, too weak to support it. I took it back. Ok, I told myself. Don't be in such a hurry. Go to Amazon and do some research. Vornado fans were generally given high ratings. Mine arrived and I am elated. It is just the size I need, is sturdy, the fan-speed settings are unlimited, it runs quietly, and puts out a wonderful breeze. Vornado fans have many fans (and visa versa). Now I am one of them!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great air-mover, quiet (relatively) and in a compact frame.
4.5 stars, actually.

This fan is great. It's really small, so it can be placed in a window frame or almost any where you need air to be moved from, and doesn't obstruct like a larger, yet less-powerful fan would.

It's really powerful. It really does shoot a tight beam of air, and in turn circulates air around an entire room. This is especially helpful, in say, small, un-air conditioned dorm rooms at colleges too cheap to install AC. This fan is also very good at moving cool air from one room to another. My room at home, also, ironically, does not have AC. The family room down the hall does. So I just place this baby in the hall aimed into my room, and the lovely cold air is pulled in from the family room and shot into mine, and my room is now AC'd, somewhat.

The variable speed control is very nice, letting you control exactly how much air you want moved. The lowest speed is almost silent, but is meant more for just personal cooling, while the fastest speed is rather noisy (but nothing unbearable, it's not bad at all), it IS moving quite a large volume of air, and good for whole-room air circulation/cooling.

I would give this gem a 5, but the frame is just a bit mal-aligned. It can get bent just slightly which causes the blades to smack against the plastic frame, and while this is easily correctable, it is annoying. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars DOA
I received this generator from Amazon, prepared it per the included instructions, cranked it up, and immediately realized that it has two big problems: Voltage is only 107V, and it started making a gawdaful screeching sound after running for about 60 seconds. Screeching seems to be coming from the genset itself (not the engine), possibly indicating a bad bearing in the generator. Not good!

The fact that it made it out of the factory in this condition tells me that Porter Cable is doing a poor job of Quality Assurance. Also since I bought it from Amazon rather than a local retailer, I obviously can't take it back to the store for an exchange...I am forced to lug this heavy thing to the nearest factory service center. In retrospect, I might have been better off buying it locally.

5-0 out of 5 stars Watch Porter Cables product descriptions for Generators
Even though it doesn't have all the features that they advertise, it is a good generator. They advertised it as having an hour meter and full power switch. It has neither. I did a lot of research, (weeks) on different generator features before purchasing this one. So when I did get it and it didn't have all the features that it was supposed to, I was disappointed.
But, If you're looking for using primarily 120 volts, this is the one for you. It has (2) 20 amp GFCI duplexes- (four grounded plug-ins) Plus it has a Nema L5-30 amp 120 volt plug-in. I purchased a 10 gauge extension cord that plugs in to the L5-30 Nema and on the other end it has 2 duplexes. This gives me 8 grounded plug-ins. total. Of course you still can't go over the 62.5 maximum constant rated amps while doing so. It does have a large surge rating of 10,750 watts, 89 amps for motor starting power
The engine started on the first pull as it should, and ran great. The Vanguard engine is supposed to be Briggs & Stratton's best engine. The Idle control works great too.
I would recommend downloading the PDF manual on any generator before purchasing. And then carefully compare all the features to their advertisement. I noticed many advertising mistakes on a lot of different generators out there.
Comparing power to price, this generator is hard to beat!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you are looking for value...
This is your generator. Noise signature is more than tolerable although I agree with the previous poster - I wouldn't want any of these things outside my bedroom window. The compression release makes for a very easy pull if you don't have electric starter connected.

5-0 out of 5 stars A "REAL" generator
There are lots of generators out there, and deciding on which to purchase can be complicated. I based my decision on getting one larger than I thought I would need so that it would not spend its life stressed to its limit. Although I had to purchase this generator elsewhere (...) and I ended up paying more for it, I am glad I did finally get it.

I suggest that you have some assistance on hand to get the VERY heavy box into your garage to set it up. Assembly took me about an hour or so, so you should be up and running in a short time. The only problem I had were the holes in the frame for mounting the rear legs were not tapped and the supplied bolts were not self-tapping (or at least to say that they were not very good at it- ther tips being quite large with no relief slot in them to cut the metal), so I had to use a 1/4 x 20 tap to create the threads before inserting the bolts. If you don't have a tap you could easily replace the bolts with some better self-tapping bolts- they are 1/4 x 20 x 1" I think.

The Vanguard motor is made in Japan and seems to be a very high quality item. Once filled with oil and fueled up it started the first time on the second or third pull adnran smoothly after about a five minute warm up in cold weather (mid- 40's F.). Pulling on the starter rope seemed quite easy and I suspect that this motor has some sort of compression relief. For anyone of average strength, I think that the starting battery would only be needed in very cold weather.

Although I would not want it running next to my bedroom all night, it does run quite a bit quieter than a lot of other generators I have heard.

Be aware that most localities require a special set up if you want to power an entire home with a generator. This special switch box is not included and it needs to be wired by a qualified electrician. If you just run some heavy extension cords to the generator, then this is not necessary. This means that to power a water well or other 220 equipment like central air conditioners the box will be necessary.

To test it, once it had warmed up, I had the idle control on (low idle speed engaged) and plugged in my portable circular saw. I hit the trigger on the saw and the generator immediately came up in RPM and the saw went to full power as if it were plugged into the wall.

Be aware that when using voltage sensitive devices and light loads like an incandescent light or two, the idle control has to be off as the generator cannot sense these small loads and will not come up to a power-prodicing RPM. My trouble light would not do anything but glow dimly at the low idle speed.

This thing is large and has a huge alternator in it. With a 10,500 watt surge rating it should handle most all your needs- maybe not all at once, but for most households this is going to be a real handy tool to have around when the lights go out.

BTW- The motor and the alternator section each have a 2 year warranty! At this price I found nothing to compare to the BS750. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This multi-purpose, heavy-duty shop fan features high-velocity, air-beam technology that puts air where it’s needed for improved ventilation--perfect for the garage, workshop, or basement. Its heavy-duty, powder-coated base allows for pointing the head in any direction; point it in one direction for cooling off, straight up for better air circulation, or down for drying painted or varnished items. There are also three different speeds to choose from for precise air control: 950, 1200, or 1550 RPM. The fan itself is made of a nearly indestructible polypropylene body and a durable steel base. For increased accessibility and grab-and-go portability, this fan offers a comfort-grip carrying handle and an extra-long, 10-foot, grounded, 110-120-volt AC cord with storage capability. Its long-life, ball-bearing motor never needs oil and is dust resistant, while the patented removable grill makes cleaning easy--just wipe clean with a warm, soapy cloth. Measuring just 17-1/2 by 14-1/2 by 16-1/4 inches and weighing only 14-1/2 pounds, it's easy to place this fan in an ideal location while in use or to tuck it out of the way for storing. The Vornado heavy-duty shop fan is made in the USA and boasts a lifetime warranty. --Catie Unger ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fan! What's not to like?
I own a couple Vornados and am definitely addicted. So when I saw color from the ususaly B&W folks at Vornado I had to buy. This thing looks neat and it arrived in fine condition. The padded handle, the fat pipe base, the long grounded cord and a place to store the extra. I like it and I like that it's made in the US and has a lifetime warranty. Way to go Vornado!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not all it's cracked up to be
I have always been impressed with Vornado products. Therefore, I was lured into purchasing this fan when it arrived in my "Gold Box" as a special purchase. However -- as the saying goes -- all that glitters is not gold. My Vornado fan arrived broken: The front protective grill is made out of cheap plastic, and due to one of the plastic clips being broken, the front grill will not stay in place. It literally falls off.

Despite that, I still tried to use the fan. The fan produces a "stream" (tunnel) of air into one location, and does not cool a wide area.

If you want a fan that will only direct air into one spot, this fan might be fine. But if you want over-all all-room cooling, this is not a good choice. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor performer underwater/ NOT shock resistant
I bought one of these lights to work underwater and the seals failed filling the battery compartment with water. Streamlight replaced it, but when dropped from 4 feet to a carpeted floor it failed..replacement LED is 37.95 with shipping and replacement Streamlight 3C LED can be had for $39.00 so...I am tossing the Streamlight 3C LED in trash can and taking the loss...Sorry, but this item is not reliable, durable, or dependable..such a surprise for a company with such a good rep

5-0 out of 5 stars Once you've had LED you'll never go back.
This thing puts out an amazing amount of light and the batteries last forever. I keep one in the trunk of every car I own (3).

3-0 out of 5 stars Streamlight 33202 LED 3C NOT Waterproof
Everything said about this flashlight is spot on except for the fact that after using underwater in less than 10 feet, the battery compartment leaked and the batteries turned to rusted mush. So much for the claims of being waterproof!!! Otherwise a really nice flashlight but not the rugged competitor it claims to be...
So far have not heard from the manufacturer about servicing the warranty...will let you know

3-0 out of 5 stars It grows on you
Very nice product for what it does, but it takes some getting used to. First the good. Appears very durable and has a nice feel to it when carrying. Excellent for inside a house, such as during a power outage. The white light is very diffuse and wide angle illuminating a large area or an entire room.

Now for the not-so-good. The on switch in at the end of unit - inconvenient. The LED light is very different from the traditional flashlights and may not be what you expect. The light is not focused. Used outdoors, the diffuse light will illuminate I found relatively good up to only about 30 feet. The beam cannot be focused from a diffuse pattern to a sharp compact beam. My mag light is definitely better for outdoors.

Overall, nice product but it serves a niche. Definitely not the only flashlight I would want - or need - to own.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't Drop This Flashlight
Contrary to what a previous reviewer said about being able to throw it against a wall without breaking it, this flashlight did not survive a 2 foot fall from my young childs hand onto the street this Halloween evening.

It is broken and no longer working. I had it a week. Update 11/14/03-after several emails back and forth, the company did send a free replacement LED bulb unit. The flashlight works again. Only thing now is that they sent blue LED lights instead of the white ones I had originall purchased. I've raised the ranking one more star for their response, albeit flawed.

Be careful it is fragile despite it's looks. Don't be fooled by claims by other reviewers who have not put it through a simple test by a child dropping it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

A slim, space-saving design, this Bionaire tower fan adds comfort and cool to your home with the added ease of remote control. The fan features a noise-reduction design that is almost soundless on the lowest setting and comfortably quiet on the two higher settings. An optional 90-degree oscillation function increases room circulation and makes the fan a good candidate for corner placement. The unit also includes a pleasant breeze setting--sporadic cycling through the three speeds for a natural feel--and a sleep function that gradually slows the motor down and turns it off. The fan’s 7-1/2-hour timer works in half-hour intervals for convenience, and an included remote control operates all the fan’s functions. Bionaire also equips the soft-touch control panel with helpful green LED indicators. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, quiet fan!
This fan has far exceeded my expectations-it's super-quiet, easy to move around, and has numerous handy features. I've had it about a year-no problems. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fan that works well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well made, quiet, and works well
I too suspect a serious hatchet job with ulterior motives from these other reviewers. I have 2 of these, almost 2 years now. I like them very much. They oscillate smoothly and its the only fan I can have near a TV that wont ruin the show with it's incessant cranking noise like a standard fan. I am ordering another one today on the Friday sale. I can't speak for other people but I'm sold. One other note. You can find tower fans from Bionaire in the discount stores but they are the cheapie model, this one is the higher quality one. Maybe the ones these other people are complaining about are the more squarish versions from BJs and Sams and the like.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's true. This is absolute JUNK.
It's heading out to the curbside after just a few months.

An absolute waste of money, don't bother!

3-0 out of 5 stars Quiet, it ain't.
So far, the reviews on this item have been in the extreme -- either the product is godawful, or it is the best thing on the market. I have both good and bad review, based on the one I purchased. It delivers a lot of what it promises: a sleek design, multiple functions including oscillation, breeze mode and three speeds to suit your needs, and best of all, it's remote control operated. It also has a programmable timer (which I haven't tried yet). But quiet it ain't. At the lowest level, its sound is loud enough to be irritating (instead of the nearly inaudible hum as advertised), and at the highest level, the humming is loud enough to drown the sound of the television. It's like the sound you hear sitting in a flying airplane. Perhaps this happens because I sit too close to the fan (about 8ft. away diagonally) -- but therein is the other problem: this fan is not strong enough for a large room. I put it in a corner of a 12 X 9 room, and I have to put it on the highest level to actually feel the breeze from the other side.

There it is, the good and the bad. Conclusion: it's a pretty machine that works pretty well, with conveniences. But not as quiet or powerful as advertised. And I will have to wait to report the final test of durability: how long this machine will last through the summer.

1-0 out of 5 stars ITS JUNK
Was given fan for my new office. Had it running off and on for 2 days and doesnt work !!!! Looks great, 2 days worth and nothing !! Dont buy this piece of junk.....There wasn't any "0" stars or I would have rated it just that.. I dont have the packing slip since it was a gift. So I guess I have to toss it in the garbage... I will NEVER buy a Bionaire product ever !!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A well built door bench
I ordered this door bench without having a chance to see it in person, as it is a specialized product and few tool dealers carry it. While this made me a bit hesitant, as it is an expensive tool, I can say that immediately upon it's arrival I recognized that it is a very well built tool. The table sets up easily and is rock solid, there is no play whatsoever in the legs. All the surfaces that will touch the door are lined with a heavy, uncolored rubber bumper that will not leave skid marks on the door. These rubber bumpers are also riveted to the bench. The metal surface of the bench and legs are treated (painted?) in such a way that they are not smooth. This surface treatment allows the adjustable door grip and rests to hold firmly in place, and also prevents tools from sliding around when there is sawdust on the bench. All the features of this tool are well thought out, and well executed. I certainly recommend it to anyone who works with doors on a regular basis. ... Read more
