poor quality, terrible customer service
Very rough operation of lock mechanism. Bottom shelf is almost unusable because of the position of locking mechanism. I attempted to contact the customer service dept. listed on the enclosed warranty sheet. The 1-800-number listed on the warranty
sheet referred me to a 10-10- number, which was a directory who
gave me the no. of Sisco. I received my phone bill today and found the directory charged me $5.98 to give me the Brinks customer service no. So what do you think of a manufacturer who

gives you a phony 800 no. which refers you to an outfit which charges you $5.98 to give you their phone no.? This,along with a poorly designed, poor quality product. I will never buy anything
from Brinks again. I don't think too much of Amazon for dealing with Brinks. BTW I sent an e-mail to their customer service dept.
Of course I have never received an answer.

Easy to install and use
This safe is extremely easy to install and use. I own this safe and agree that it would be very hard to remove. You secure it with heavy screws from the inside that go into the wall studs. A thief would need to know your combination before they could remove it. In fact we just moved and I'm about to order another one for our new house.

Stupid NON-Owner!!! I own one, so listen up!
Disreguard the review above! This man had to "ask questions". I own one, and can tell you from experience that this safe is not able to be removed without opening the door, at least not with just a screw driver...you would need a chainsaw or sledge hammer. The screws on the front that you see in the pictures are really only to keep the front flange flush with the wall. the real support and mounting screws go into pre-drilled holes in the inside on the left and right of the safe cavity. It fits perfect if you have 16inch on center studs. Cut the drywall carefully and you will have no problem concealing the hole with the safe flange.

Looks good, but is it really safe?
After asking some questions, I learned that the only thing that will stop a thief is a screwdiver. There are 4 screws (outside corners) that hold this entire safe to the wall. If you have a screwdiver, the entire unit can be removed and stolen. Brinks can simply fix this problem by having interior holes (access only by opening the door). Long screws can secure the safe to the adjacent 2x4s, again only if you have the door open. However, the safe has steel walls and an owner can't easily drill their own holes. Great Calculator,But !
I have been using my inchmate calculator for 10 years extensivly in my job as a mechanical designer. It is a great calculator and very fast. It helps me in adding and subtracting dimensions for layout of construction documents. The one I have does not have the rise, run, and slope features but square and square root keys acheive the same results just a little slower. The only improvement that the manufacturer could enhance for this calculator is the incorporation of sine, cosine, and tangent keys for trigonometric calculations. These features would win a five plus star rating for this already great calculator.

Why guess when you can be sure?
I don't know about you but I have a tough time adding dimensions after a few hors on the job. This tool will save time and money and get you home a little sooner to your family!

Throw away the paper....
How many times does it take to calculate where it make that CUT on the most expensive piece of wood in your collection? Exactly once! For years I have performed double, triple and sometimes many more checks on calculations for cuts on expensive, rare woods. The Sonin calculator has made calculation time short and accurate.

Easy to use and right on everytime. Now if I just get a tape measure that tells me when I measured wrong, I'm set!

I'm an architect and verifying dimensions is a crucial part of this profession. The Inchmate makes it much easier to verify all dimensions. It cuts calculating time at least in half and without mistakes (unless you input it incorrectly).

Diagonal master
I am a general contractor and I have used the inch mate primarily for calculating diagonal dimensions for foundations, rafters, etc. It is a little difficult to get used to but any initial inconvenience is not only inconsequential but well worth it to get used to this little gem. It's so difficult to calculate foot and inch diagonals with a standard calculator, but the inch mate makes it a breeze. I'm buying more to give my lumber salesman and my sub contractors. ... Works as advertised
This little safe works as it is advertised. The battery operated lock works well, and there is a key override system if the batteries fail. It is an easy way to keep secure passports, cash, jewelry, or other small documents.
However, this safe is not fire resistant, and any thief with basic lockpicking skills could open the key override lock. (on the flip side this is good if the batteries fail and you lose the keys, any locksmith can open the lock as well)
The best would be to secure the safe via the included bolts, otherwise, the safe can easily be carried out by hand. Like I mentioned before, it is a convenient way to keep valubles more secure than in an unlocked drawer, but not something to completely rely on. ... Read more

Not just for contractors!
I've been carrying my Bucket Boss briefcase on a daily basic for two years now, and it still looks new. It may be designed for contractors, but there are plenty of features that make it perfect for computers geeks as well. There's room for a laptop, of course; a special pocket for a cell phone that lets you hear the phone ring, tons of pockets for pens, pencils, screwdrivers, pliers, a digital camera, books... whatever you need to carry. It's rugged, looks good in almost any setting, yet doesn't attract the attention of thieves like the typical laptop case or fancy briefcase. Highly recommended.

Oh, but for one zipper...
...this would be a perfect bag. It wants for a zipper under the main flap for the primary compartment. In its existing state papers get wet in a rain storm.

Better and cheaper too!
I was looking for a replacement for my Lands End briefcase [I've had three of those but I'll never go back]. One of my complaints about the last one I had was that it was navy blue and things like my black cell phone would get lost down in it [along with other things]. With only a few small but deep pockets inside, there wasn't a good place for the phone, and things tended to get very disorganized. I'm a clinical psychologist with 3 offices [and a home office] so I tend to carry around a lot of junk, including charts, other papers etc. and with the Bucket Boss I'm no longer always rooting around trying to find something that I tossed in there. In my search, I looked at other canvas bags that could take the beating of all the moving about that I need to do - the Lands End ..., the L.L. Bean case ... and one from Duluth Pack ... but I saw this one in the ... Tool Crib catalog for... and it kept intriguing me - in part because of the lighter color, which I thought would help with being able to find my "lost" things. At that price there seemed little to lose but boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I got it. The pictures and text do not do it justice. It has tons of pockets, places for pens, wallet, checkbook...you name it. I've used it for over a month now and I can't find anything I'd change in the design, nor any flaws in the construction. In fact, I love it so much that I'm going to order a "replacement" now, so that when I wear this one out I'll have one already. My only qualm in doing that is that it is so well made, it may never wear out, but I'm sure my heirs will be able to put it to good use long after I don't need it any longer.

Great quality, looks, practicality
There are others, but not as inexpensive nor with half the quality and durability of this briefcase. I've had 3 over the past 6 years, & will soon buy another one. The failure point has always been the metal attachments that hold the shoulder straps in place; they only last a year or two, in my experience. The mesh cellphone pocket is nice & roomy, too. It has room for several books (plural!), notebooks, and odds&ends to my delight, with a couple better-designed large & deep compartments that have velcro flaps. Everything about this case says it's roomy enough to carry what I've discovered I need to carry around, and durable enough to last. (And it makes a nicer statement, I think, than a leather oh-so-so briefcase!)

Great quality very durable
The one I received is an older model and doesn't look like the picture (I received mine in November), this newer version looks like it has more pockets. But that doesn't take away from the quality of this product. I am not a contractor either and like the other reviewer I purchased this as a commuter bag. Its many pockets are perfect for holding just about everything and the main compartment is big enough for a laptop computer if needed, though it doesn't have the padding a lap top case would have. If you carry a wide lunch box, it may not fit in this bag. I frequently bring medium sized tupperware bowls for lunch and they will not fit in the main compartment unless I put it in sideways. The one I have doesn't have a blueprint sleeve but I wouldn't have used it any way. Convenient pocket in the flap to put documents for easy access when the top is closed and zippered pocket inside as well as a metal hook for keys. BucketBoss is part of Fiskars and has the same high quality products. I don't own other BucketBoss products but I'd definately buy more based on this item. ... Read more

Great product, but finish needs improvement!
Overall, a very well designed and functional product. Too bad that the edges and corners of the aluminum sheet components had to be deburred, and the corners had to be rounded. If not done, the edges could cut your hands and the corners could tear your clothes or upholstery in your wehicle. Seems like fewer and fewer manufacturers are likely to completely finish their products anymore. I guess hand finishing is too expensive. That's why manufacturers are going overseas for cheap labor and hand finishing.

I need a manual

Excellent quality
This safe is just what the ad says-it is a safe. It is meant to be secure and it is. Documents that are important should be in this safe. I feel it would be better used lying down just because that way nothing will fall out at you when you open it up. It is very heavy duty and the ability to set your own code should make it easy to remember.

FORGET wall mounting it
I was looking for a small, digital-combo safe like this to mount onto (or into) a wall, and the Amazon review implies that the 5074 is mountable "to studs". The Gold Box price was too good to pass up, so I bought it.

The Good: It works. The paint finish is nice.

The Bad: It's definitely for mounting FLAT, as in a drawer. If you want wall- or shelf mounting, you'd naturally want the hinge at the top, so the keypad reads right. BUT, the hinges won't hold the door open that way, and the inside shelf would run vertically instead of horizontally! Your only choice is to mount it sideways, which means the keypad is sideways, too. Not the most ergonomic arrangement, especially if you need to open it in a hurry.

Besides that, the batteries were already dead on arrival, and the bolt handle squeaked and grated.

I returned it.

Quick Handgun Storage
I'm surprised it's in as good of shape as it was when it arrived. The box was totally beat to death and I dreaded sending it back because of it's weight. But, it was relatively unscathed. It's a great little investment, except for the hinges. You'd think they would have something more durable, than those flimsy little hinges held together by a rivet. One of the hinges is impossibly loose and impossible to repair. We mounted it on the wall and so far so good. I got it on a gold box sale so with the free shipping it was worth the price.

Perfect for storing your handguns
I've been looking for something large enough to store my handguns. My previous method was just a gun lock and I don't trust them. This one came up on sale here and I jumped on it. It shows an ability to mount vertical or horizontal. If you mount the safe standing up, everything sits in the bottom and I don't believe you could put more than just a few heavy items. good for home use
I needed a fireproof file case for home use, to protect important documents such as insurance papers, titles, etc. After visits to several local stores and some on-line research, it is clear there is a large gap between professional equipment (two or more hours of protection, $500+ and hundreds of pounds) and home equipment (30 to 60 minutes protection, about $100 and 100 pounds or less).
The major competitor to this Brinks is a Sentry product. Both are rated for 1/2 hour fire protection at 1500-1600 degrees, but the Brinks is also waterproof for hours when completely submerged (what is the first thing the fire department is going to do when the arrive at your burning home?) As well, the design of the Sentry products in this price/size/protection range left a substantial gap between the cover and body of the case. Finally, the Brinks came with a removable caster system which makes it easy to move around (it's about 40 pounds).
The down side is that it's rated for only 30 minutes. Sentry makes a case rated for one hour, with a larger internal size, but it weighed 100 pounds and had no handles. I could barely move it, but it was waterproof and better constructed than their 30 minute case, so it might fit your needs closer than mine.
Both companies make several safes rated for one hour. These are harder still to move, and may be a target for thieves; I did not get one since I was interested in protecting files and not valuables.
If you are interested in professional level protection, include the brand "FireKing" in your search.

Great work tool
This calculator is the best for the price. It does it all with regard to finance and mortgage calculations. The directions are straight forward and simple. They explain almost all variations of problems and how to solve them. In no time you understand this unit well. I've worked with others and this one was recommended to me. I'm glad I listened.

Great for Mortgage Qualifying
For merely calculating the monthly payment for a given loan amount, interest rate, and term, there are cheaper calculators that will do as well, although with one or two added keystrokes. But if you are a loan originator who needs to qualify borrowers and know what the front and back end ratios are, this calculator is simpler to use than the HP models I've seen. You can also store tax and insurance rates for quick p.i.t.i. calculations. This is a great little calculator at a reasonable price. It's the best kept secret in the mortgage industry.
