Warm and Wonderful!
We bought this heater to use during power outages and it's saved us during more than one ice storm, plus we run it frequently during extra cold spells to give our lousy heat pump a rest. Heats the whole house very quickly and is safe to use. Highly recommend - every home should have one for winter emergencies

This is just the ticket for a warm garage...
I purchased this heater a while ago as a low cost solution to heating a 2 1/2 car detached garage (my woodworking shop) so I could work on projects all winter long.I have never used this heater in my house, but I can attest that it has always done an excellent job of keeping my workshop warm.The kerosene fuel is readily and cheaply available and I have only had to change the mantle once so far.

I usually light this thing up and go back in the house for maybe a half hour.When I return, the garage is warm enough that I can get by with jeans and a flannel shirt, even on the coldest winter days.By the way, I insulated the walls and ceiling of my garage, but the double garage door is uninsulated steel.

One thing to remember is that this heater has an open flame, so be very careful around solvents and flammable finishes!Also, if you are worried about odor - there is definitely a distinct smell created by this heater.I would not put one in my house unless I had no other choice... but that's just me.

Rave review for this heater.
Unit works right out of the box. Just add fuel and plug it in. I doesn't get simpler than this. With the optional thermostat you just set it and forget it. It'll outlast you on most jobs with a full tank of fuel. Safe and economical performance. (just don't point the end at anything that'll burn). A safe distance is around 4 or more feet in front where heat comes out. I don't know what the maker recommends but that distance works quite well for me. Now I wouldn't leave the building with one of these running for any period of time. Outside there's no problem heating in the general direction where you're working. This thing throws quite a bit of heat for it's size. It is noisy and you won't be able to talk on the phone when using it in the same room, but for utility heat nothing compares. I've seen places that used those hanging heaters replace them with one of these things. ... Read more
