Tipke's Fold-It cart carries up to 350 pounds of wood, soil, leaves, debris, and anything else you need to haul, and when you're done, it folds up tight to fit wherever you need to store it. Because it balances the weight of your load over the wheels, it's easy for anyone to tote and maneuver--even when fully stacked. Its sturdy aluminum construction is rust- and corrosion-resistant and cleans up quickly with a spray of the hose. The durable 20-inch pneumatic tires add stability and help it negotiate even the toughest terrain. A removable front panel allows for larger loads and easier dumping of soil or leaves. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Tool!
When I told my husband that I needed a compact, folding if possible cart or wheelbarrow, he said I was asking for the moon and was doubtful that he'd find one. Well sure enough he found this one and I was thrilled! I'm a professional gardener and when the cart arrived, the assembly was so simple that I was off and loading it up right away. All my tools fit, it was very light weight and it fit very compactly in the back of my Jeep Cherokee. The real test came when I loaded it up with mulch to see how it would work as a wheelbarrow. It was teriffic!! I could fit more in it than the wheelbarrow I was using, and it was easier to fill. Because it has 2 wheels instead of 1, it wouldn't tip over when filled to the brim! Unloading it was easy too, I just took the back off and dumped the mulch where I needed it. The channels for that back panel do get a bit plugged up with mulch after a hard day of work, but clean up easy enough. This cart is totally awesome....this is the best tool investment I made last year! Thanks for a wonderful product!!

4-0 out of 5 stars HANDY HELPER
Arriving to the job site in a 1-ton utility work truck loaded with all types of tools/equipment/materials is one thing, getting into a building/site with limited access is another. The solution, "fold-it" !! This light weight "mule" has become my best buddy. Prior to purchasing my "fold-it" i either made several trips to and from my work truck, arms loaded to the gills or used a bulky wheelbarrow to carry my tools/material. This is certainly a "tool" that has REALLY made me money (time saver). Although i thought it was pricey for a "cart", i have no regrets. The solution for me as for the gauge of the aluminum was a $35 investment. I went to a local metal materials shop and had 3 pieces of "aluminum diamond deck" cut to fit, 2 lower pieces (by the way, if it really matters to you like it did me, make sure that the fit is the same as the bottom deck of the cart, one side is slightly less then the other in width)the other piece was for the sliding back. I attached the diamond deck using a rivot gun.Maybe if your lucky, after TIPKE reads this, they may offer this idea as an accessory. The thought in my mind as i was "customizing" my "ride" was that regreting the day it would be "car jacked" :( Not only does she look good, but really re-inforced it without much added weight. Now if i could only find someone to cut me some custom aluminum wheels on a CNC machine i could start a "fold_it" cart club. :) All in all dont' hesitate, BUY ONE!! ops, one bad note, the rubber "boots" attached to the front legs fell off. If your not going to do the "diamond deck", at the very least use a dab' of silicon caulk to adhere the rubber boots to the legs. happy haulin'

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Thing Going BUT----
This will be our third Foldit. (Amazon's got by far the best price at this moment--) It's a workhorse and still the best thing going that I know of BUT be aware:

    1. The tires are flimsy. Get good tubes (if the tires come without them) and get a plastic strip thorn-proofer from a bike shop. It will help. Might as well get a can of flat tire spray, too, if you're going to pull it over anything rough or thorny (like berry prunings).

    2. The design has a serious weak point: the rolled sides of the cart (where the handles slide in) will split at the handle-locking rivets if you habitually carry much weight (say 50 lb or so) over rough ground. This is very hard to fix and the split widens until there's a big tear and the handles fall out --permanently. That's what finally did in carts one and two. This time I'm going to try to reinforce the area around the rivets immediately, before they have a chance to start a split. Fold-it seems to outlast expensive wood carts by years despite this flaw.

    3. Plan to pull the cart. Pushing as you would a wheelbarrow is hopeless. (A Fold-it is not necessarily a wheelbarrow substitute.) It's handier and better balanced by far than any deep plastic or wood cart I've tried, but it's not good at moving manure or heavy loads into the garden --the tires are narrow and sink into worked soil, and it's not made for turning in place or flipping upside down as you would a wheelbarrow. You can push it down a row empty and pull it out with a light load of weeds or produce, though.

    4. You get to balance the load yourself. This is good. Some carts get heavier and pull harder as you load them. Balance the load in a Fold-it so there's weight behind the wheels and you can pull it with one finger, on hard ground.

    5. The bed is a convenient height, great for taking to the orchard to bring back with heavy baskets of fruit, to the clothesline with heavy baskets of clothes, from car to kitchen door with mega-loads of groceries. Easy to load because the bed is flat and rectangular, and you don't have to lift heavy dog food bags (for instance) over the sides. You can slide them out the back with the gate off.

    6. If you use the Fold-it for hauling hay, compost or weeds, expect to spend some time cleaning the fold lines if you ever need to fold it. Plan ahead if you're taking it to a horse show!

3-0 out of 5 stars it works well WHEN it works, but ...
    1.
The plus side is that this thing FOLDS, which saves space during
storage, and which permits it to be carried in a bigger vehicle,
much as a boat supposedly can be carried by a ship.
While the fold feature IS a plus, it also invites p-r-o-b-l-e-m-s
(because moving parts are prone to breakdown and mismatch).
    2.
Should the ability of this thing to "go away" (by folding when it
is not needed) not be essential, this reviewer would recommend a
look at the B00011SPU0 (highlight/copy/paste this into "Search").
Although the B00011SPU0 cart does-NOT fold, it has three features
    - it has a nice blue color (hey, ya gotta live with it, no?)
    - it ships postpaid: i.e., free shipping, though from third party
    - it has puncture-proof solid rubber tires, yielding rougher ride
    3.
Should you intend to store or use this thing near the seashore, I
suggest that you weigh in the salt air as a factor in the useful
lifespan of your cart. Although the aluminum supposedly* resists
corrosion, there is the (remote?) possibility that the salt air
of an ocean-front location would ROT the aluminum. ROT, not rust.
    *"marine grade aluminum"
By way of comparison, the B00011SPU0 has a polyethylene tub; this
plastic is heavy-duty (and non-biodegradable!). The zinc plating
on the B00011SPU0's steel frame (galvanized to resist rust) isn't
permanent, yet your back will probably go out before the cart has
gone to the Road Warrior graveyard.
    4.
I omitted one star because aluminum requires obscene amounts of
electricity (uranium or fossil fuel) to manufacture.
The other star is gone because I'd rather hand it to B00011SPU0.
    5.
In case you have the determination or patience to forgo WHEELS, I
suggest that you make use of your hip joints to schlep your cargo
-in a SINGLE-wheeled wheelbarrow (more balance, less "footprint")
-in a shoulder-held coolie carrier (twin sides require dexterity)
-in a basket or padded tub atop your head (calls for sobriety)...
    6.
Should you intend to use this thing anywhere near motor vehicles,
such as in a driveway or in a campground, please take the time to
affix generous amounts of conspicuous RETROREFLECTIVE tape to all
outer borders of the container. Although MUD and sludge would not
permit the beam of headlights to bounce off the carefully applied
RETROREFLECTIVE tape strips (back to the eyes of the driver), you
still stand a b-e-t-t-e-r chance of saving your Fold-It cart from
being trashed by two tons of steel than by leaving it defenseless
withOUT the 3M tape (preferably canary yellow or zebra-striped).
Apply the tapes BEFORE you first dog the cart, so that the bond
of the adhesive is stronger than when compromised by water/grit.
    7.
In order to make your neighbor's cart more attractive to thieves,
mark YOUR cart by either drilling your initials, social, or home
address into a flat panel of the cart. Alternatively, borrow the
"engraving tool" (loaner unit) from your friendly peace officer.
While you're at deterring theft of your cart, take time to also
inscribe a traceable ID onto a hidden part of your nonexpendable
BICYCLES (such as on the underside of the crankshaft): PREVENTION
    8.
Hope this review was helpful. Comments welcome to my web address.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very useful and convenient
This is a very useful cart for anyone who has a large yard like mine and lot of leaves and yard waste to haul around. The ability to fold is a big plus. The light aluminium body makes it very easy to pull it with heavy load. I am surprised that Home Depot or Lowes do not sell anything like this. This is definitely more elegant and easier to handle than the typical wheel barrows. I reduced one star for the high price. I think it can be a little cheaper. The 170 dollars price tag is not completely justified. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tipke Marine Utility Cart
I bought one of these carts about 6 years ago. I am an artist who participates in art and craft shows so I use it to haul my display, canopy and products. It has held up perfectly over the years. It's been the best cart I could have purchased. It folds up small enough to fit in the back of my Toyota Tercel hatchback with plenty of room for everything else. It hasn't rusted or dented. I barely even have to oil the 2 hinged elements (I think I've done that once or twice since purchase). I've loaded it up with sand bags and heavy umberella stands and it takes a lot of weight. All I do is add air to the tires about twice a year. I use it every weekend so it's seen a lot of use. I've had lots of other crafts people ask me where I got it. They all recognize how much better it is than a dolly that requires straps or bungee cords to secure everything in. This is a great price for it... I almost feel like getting another one, but mine is still fine so I don't need it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Comparison of 1300 and 2100 model
I purchased both the 1300 and 2100 model. The 2100 was...more expensive. Other then that the 2100 is painted blue, I was unable to find a difference in the two models. The only actual problem with either cart is that when loading the cart you have to balance some of the weight up near the legs because if you put all the weight by the wheel the cart will tip. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars qual craft wall jack
The wall jack design is o.k. but I don't think it has the weight capacity it says it does. I tried to jack up a wall and the jack just stripped the wood 2x4. I used a clear doug-fir like it recomended.

4-0 out of 5 stars WALL JACK

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool
This is a wonderfull tool for lifting one story walls.
It's compact, easy to store and haul. A real back saver.

4-0 out of 5 stars Qual - Craft Wall jacks make life easy!!!
I bought a set of two of these to aid in the construction of my new house. I was able to raise 30 to 40 foot long walls of 2x6 construction with all headers installed, and sheathed on the exterior with 1/2 inch OSB!! No pain, no strain, and just myself and my wife. One consideration is to use long enough "handles" to avoid the potential fall zone. Couldn't have built solo without them. Great product!

4-0 out of 5 stars Movable Platform
Great platform jacks, they make instaling siding a snap. The mechanism works smoothly and allows for rapid movment of the platform. Combine this with relatively easy setup and you have a great scafolding. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works for Me!!! Great Product!!!
I am continually buying tools to speed up the process of hanging drywall and found this tool almost too good to be true. If you are serious about hanging drywall this tool is a wise investment. I especially like the fact that you can adjust the measurement setting so quickly and get down to business. I've used the tool now for over 4 months and do not have any operational complaints. However, I though that the packaging the tool came in was somewhat misleading because it suggested that you didn't need a utility knife. While the tool does make the long rip cut easy; you still have to finish your cut by snapping the section of drywall away from the cut you made with the tool and then use a utility knife to score along the crease on the back !!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool!
i found the tool to be well made and designed. Works great just as described.

1-0 out of 5 stars The tool hat dont work
This tool stinks, hard to use and doesnt do the job it is suppose to do. It wastes more time than it should. I can cut 5 boards to one doing it by hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Valuable asset to any drywall installation
I loved this tool. When it arrived we were in the beginning stages of remodeling a large warehouse. All of us shared the tool at times to make the long "rip" cut. What a snap! I'd say this tool is the first serious improvement to drywall cutting. Just be careful that you don't cut yourself when changing the blade.

2-0 out of 5 stars Overrated
While not a bad tool, I found that using a utility knife was just as easy and fast. I used this for the first few cuts and when I needed something the tool couldn't do (uneven cuts along a sheet), I used a knife, then by the end of the job was always using the knife. Save your money and buy a good utility knife, some extra blades and a good straight edge. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy cart
I have been using and abusing this cart since I got it from Amazon. It is highly maneuverable and, with a quick change of the pins, is storable in a small space.

It doesn't hold as much as I'd like in terms of volume. The flaps on the straps come undone pretty easily. And it is hard to upend the cart as you would a wheelbarrow to empty the contents. And when you do upend the cart, not everything falls out.

It is strong and light. All in all, I recommend the cart for light to medium gardening.

2-0 out of 5 stars allsop wheelbarrow
I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this product. When it came, the box was ripped on both ends. the gripper part of the
handles were dirty and one of them was ripped. Don't know if that was from shipping. There were no directions enclosed.
After spending 45 minutes to get it together I gave up.
I was very surprised that you would have to change the pins when you store and then again when you use. Think that would be very difficult as time goes on and you use the product. As a woman, I would have problems changing the pins.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely pleased with this product
Great design! Easy to load, unload and maneuver. Easy to clean and store.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for gardeners with limited storage space.
This sturdy cart folds up for easy storage against the wall of a garage. Not having room for a wheelbarrow in a so-called two car garage, I had been looking for a sturdy alternative to tote dirt, rocks, compost and mulch around the yard. This little number fit the bill perfectly. Seven 40 lb. bags of compost (which were heavier than 40 lbs. owing to rain) were no obstacle to this cart. The canvas out of which it is made is very hardy, and the frame is of a heavy-duty metal construction. I wouldn't suggest mixing cement in it, but almost any other abuse to which you would subject a wheelbarrow, you can subject this cart to. And when you're done with your project, you can fold it up and lean it against the corner of the garage. A great product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift
This cart is perfect. i got one as a gift from my kids last christmas, and i can't imagine doing yardwork without it now.

Obviuosly much easier than lugging potting soil around by hand.. which was gettting harder and harder to do with my bad back!...

The drink holder comes in quite handy too.. no more turned over soda cans in the grass. A small feature on this produc. but handy.

I didnt' think i needed a wheelbarow with a motor.. but this is really a great help for me. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to garden but hates the hard work associated with it. i love mine..

5-0 out of 5 stars LUV is a luv
I just got this a week ago...assembled in about an hour, goes together well.

I have been using it in the garden, and it lets me do things that exhausted me previously...I am somewhat weakened because of surgery last year, and a regular wheelbarrow is really hard to handle.

the LUV makes all things possible - planted two big plants today, and used the LUV to haul the un-needed dirt from the hole to the dirt pile.

also, carry all my tools to the site in the LUV so that I don't have to go back to get anything.

LUV the LUV. don't know what I would do without it! just checked to make sure that it seems popular, because if there is any chance the maker would go under, I would buy a backup LUV (ie, an extra).

however, looks like it is being sold in more and more places, and I cannot imagine any senior citizen (like me) going without it.

I just got this cart and I think it is already worth the money. I had a truck load of mulch and hills to go up with it. The cart went up hill with no problem. Dug up huge clump of zebra grass so heavy I couldn't lift it. But just rolled it into the cart pushed the control and away we went up hill to woods, dumped not a problem. I think this thing is great for an older person like me when you can no longer do the heavy stuff. I LUV it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gardening Pleasure Returns
I highly recommend this product to anyone doing gardening or yardwork. It was so wonderful to have some help spreading 20 yards of mulch, it was actually a pleasure. Instead of some dreaded yard work, I now look forward to other garden chores with excitement. I don't know what I would do without my LUVcart.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
Two parts required to assemble it were defective and I had to make my own. The instruction manual says no steep hills, but the web site said nothing of this limitation. (I bought it because my yard is very hilly.) The instruction manual says not to store it in temperatures over 75 degrees F. This apparently eliminates outside use and storage in the summer. The instruction manual said not to discharge the battery all the way, or it would be damaged. (How does one know when to stop and charge the battery unles it stops propelling the cart, and is thus completely discharged?) The instruction manual says to charge the battery every month even if it has not been used. Winter storage thus becomes inconvenient. (Whoever heard of maintaining your wheelbarrow in the winter?) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars What a Great Idea
Too bad the manufactures of this tool never got past the hardware store component prototype version. Buy it if you must, it does work well, but you could easily replicate this thing almost perfectly with parts from your local hardware store. When my order arrived, I felt as though I had just been hoodwinked. I originally ordered both the tall and short versions and all of the extensions, but after realizing what they were, I kept the Mini-Brut and returned everything else and got the extensions at the hardware store for relatively little cost.

4-0 out of 5 stars unpaid helper
A friend loaned to me his T-Jak to use when I install cabinets. I used to put a cleat on the wall first, leaving holes from screws after removing. Since I started using the T-Jak, I've been able to install 3 to 4 more cabinets per day, It's like having a helper, and not having to pay him. I install the bases first, then the uppers. If during installation, it turns out that I have to raise or lower the cabinet, it's just a simple turn of the screw to move it up or down. My only complaint is that the base of the T-Jak is a bit small and is prone to tipping, but I remidied that by attaching a 12" x 18" piece of plywood to the bottom for added stability. If you install cabinets on a regular basis, you should buy this tool! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the assembly time
I agree with a previous reviewer that the assembly instructions are not step-by-step or geared for the average gardener. If you do not have a good mechanical aptitude, it is still well worth buying this sturdy wheelbarrow and having a wrenchhead friend assist for a half hour or so. The instructions are written for a one-wheel version, so double wheelers have to wing the last few steps. All parts are furnished for BOTH models, strangely, but it only fits together one way and you end up with some hardware for your junk box! Much better than the expensive plastic hopper barrows I was finding at the discount home stores, and should last many seasons.

3-0 out of 5 stars pumps you up but doesn't let you down
I have a heck of a time getting the lowering mechanism to work properly. Half the time, it jams and just spins. Often, I have to step on a ladder and almost have to take it apart to lower it. I'll keep them, but would not recommend anybody to buy them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pump jack
I bought these to use as scaffolding when replacing the siding on my house and have been pleased. They perform exactly as advertised. They're fairly quick to erect even though I had no help. They're quite stable with the recommended bracing and the 2204Q handrail makes them MUCH safer than a plank alone. I hate heights, so that was important for me. The only real inconvenience is the necessity of having to move the braces to work directly where they're attached or move the pump jack past a brace. Extra braces have to be used so you can attach a new brace before you remove the existing one. Since I had a lot of work to do before having to move the braces, I feel it's still a good scaffolding solution. The best advice I can offer is to think through how you plan to move or work around the braces before you put them up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Homeowner Scaffolding
I am completely satisfied with this unit. I also bought the guard rail work table combo. The units arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Once I purchased the lumber, it only took me about 20 minutes to have the whole thing assembled and ready to use. You do need some bracing, I used 2X4's instead of the optional bracing system, as it does not let you adjust the distance from the work area. I used 16' 4X4's and the pump jack works great, I used 2 16' 2X12's for the platform, backed with 3/8" plywood and is very sturdy for the entire span. I will try for a taller setup once I reach the back side of my house. The manual explains how to splice 2X4's, and I would imagine that you could go as high as you wanted. All in all I highly recomend this set up for any work that you would normally do on a ladder, it sets up quickly, and sure is better(not to mention safer) than leaning off a ladder and moving the ladder every few feet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solution to scaffolding issue for home owner.
My wife and I just purchased a 1925 craftsman style bungalow in old Vancouver, WA that is badly in need of paint. The house has a roof peak of 28', and a lot of decorative millwork and carpentry that presents a problem in old paint removal and new paint application. The Qual Craft pump jack system handled my concerns with safety, stability, ease of set up and relocation, vertical and horizontal mobility, work space (work bench feature), cost, and ownership. Splicing together 30' vertical supports out of (2) 2x4x20' studs and (2) 2x4x10' studs took about 10 minutes each. Attaching the vetical supports to the house took another 10 minutes per support. Setting up the pump jack took about 20 minutes first time out. Because of the design of the work platform I am able to recover most of the paint chips via a plastic apron tacked to the house and platform. As I move around the house the vertical supports remain in place making work platform relocation quick and easy for paint removal, final prep, prime, and finish coat. I am well pleased with this equipment and consider it an excellent solution to my scaffolding requirements on this project. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Too small for much
I like the idea of a flat-folding utility cart that is easy to store and handles a lot of weight. However, when I received it, I found it really too small to carry much. I wanted to use it to carry my 3-legged Rottweiler when she gets tired on walks; I was hoping that her butt could stick out the back end. The handle bar takes up some of the cargo space in the back of the platform, which makes it even smaller. I discovered that the manufacturer, Sisco, also makes a DC-200 model which is larger and more feasible (36 x 24), but finding the manufacturer was quite a challenge. I found only their address through the Superpages.com, which was noted as a different city vs. the instruction/assembly page (Rancho Dominguez).

In case you need their contact info:

    Sisco Inc.
    2945 E. Maria Street
    Compton, CA 90221-5801
    (310) 638-1182

I suspect they may be out of business as I tried a reverse lookup on the phone number, and Smartpages.com said it didn't exist. I'll try writing to them to try and find the larger size and see if I get a response.... ... Read more

Convenient to use BUT the set-up, which looks obvious enough is quite tricky. I brought mine back to the store here in Paris- broken after one try at assembly. I spoke to the salesperson who brought me to a room with a wall lined with broken "Faultless" RuXXac's- all with the same problem. He showed me the new model with a gear mechanism that seems to make set-up easier. Stay away from the older model which is unfortunately still for sale.
