5-0 out of 5 stars Great pair of horses...
I was really pleased at the quality and strength of these horses. They are wonderful to use, and love the ability to simply fold em up and store away. Would sincerely suggest that you order these. A must for any home owner.......

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty Sawhorses
The saw horses have been lightweight and easy to store after use. They have been easy to transport from jobsite to jobsite. I like the versatility of moving them around and not having to break my back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not love at first sight
Opening the carton I thought I'd blown it ordering these. But after setting them up and snapping the base plate in place, it was definately love at second sight. Extremely stable and no joke about the support ability. Great for carrying around and very compact storage. Only flaw is the top grooved cap piece being held on by a wire tie, which can be lived with because all the rest of the sawhorse is great. Now the problem is the back order status of the outfeed rollers. These are truely pieces of equipment that will hold up last a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars impressive product
Always needed sawhorses. Never got around to cobbling some together because I didn't have the room to store them. Tried these based on all the 5-star reviews. Wonderful product, well deserving of the reviews. The ty-wraps are for shipping; you can take them off --and they are not at all "wobbly". You'll be glad you ordered.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wobbly Horse
I ordered this product based on the great reviews here. I just received them and I am sending them back. First, they are too wobbly to be useful. Second, the plastic top bar moves around and it is almost impossible to clamp anything to it. I need a stable horse, not a rocking horse. The design is a good idea but it is not executed very well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Ladder
I needed a short stable ladder to for general purpose use on many job site tasks. I get a sure footing on any tread, even the wide double top tread, (although a warning label says not to climb above the first tread). It's lightweight, has a wide stance and works great as a saw horse to hold the end of a long board. I will probobly get a second one to span a length scaffolding across. It's the ladder I now reach for first on a job site.

5-0 out of 5 stars IF ONLY I HAD ONE
WHILE I HAVE USED THIS LADDER AND LIKE IT VERY MUCH I ONLY WISH I HAD ONE OF MY OWN. I TRIED TO ORDER ONE BUT IT SEEMS THAT THIS LADDER CAN'T BE HAD. AND YET THEY WON'T TAKE IT OFF THEIR LIST GOOD LUCK GETTING ONE

5-0 out of 5 stars Do it yourselfers friend
The Werner Portable Workstand,is part of my tool inventory and has turned out to be a irreplaceable tool. Replacing small step ladders, saw horses, and fantastic for use as a low scaffold, by placing a plank between 2 workstands.Great for hanging dry wall ceilings. The extra ladder width allows you to concentrate on your work. All this, plus the fact that they are strong, light weight, and very portable. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Portability is what sold me.
I'm a residential contractor, mainly into remodeling. I use a compact truck and trailer to haul my tools and materials. Space is at a premium. I've tried a few types of portable horses and came to the conclusion that these leg sections are the best on the market. Super strong, light weight, space savers and a snap to operate. I'm writing this review just before I order 6 more pair. 4 pair of the 37" and 2 more pair of the 27". I use them for my mitre saw station, cutting table and scaffolding.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trojan Sawhorses
This sawhorse is absolutely the best foldable and portable sawhorse on the market, and it is also one of the most inexpensive.
The metal angle iron hinged legs with gripper teeth make these horses extremely strong yet easy to transport. Also, these leg stands can be used with any length of 2X dimensional lumber to make a sawhorse that fits any need.
For strength, durability, simplicity of design and flexibility and ease of use, I have not seen another sawhorse product that can match this unit. And best of all, it is made in the good old USA, by Trojan Manufacturing in Portland Oregon.
I would highly recommend these units to contractors and home users alike.

4-0 out of 5 stars no nonsense horses
I met these horses when some hotshot framers from oregon showed up at the jobsite with a whole bunch of attitude and some fancy tools. Besides the titanium hammers, these were my favorite gadgets of theirs. These horses, once properly set up, will hold ANYTHING. We stacked forty 2X8X18s on them and started cutting them for rafters. Occasionally, two or more carpenters also climbed on top to nail above and these horses didn't groan. The rafters had steel c-channel sistered on them, and once the wood was up, we stacked almost a ton of steel on the horses and started working on them. They never gave any sign of stress. Any length 2X can be installed as the top, giving the opportunity to make a wider set of horses if need be, but the drawback is that once set up, they don't fold for transport, you have to break them down first. Made strong and simple, great for framers and siding guys. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good product -- but side force can damage unit
I've owned these horses for at least a decade and find them quite satisfactory.

The sawhorse top channel is predrilled to attach a section of 2 x 4. I attached a 2 x 2 on top of the 2 x 4 on each horse, to make sure a saw blade wouldn't contact that steel channel. Also, the horse will flex noticeably without a 2 x 4 stiffening the top.

A nice feature for tall users is height adjustability - from very low, to as high as 40" (not counting the 2 x 4). Plus, each leg can be set at a different height; quite useful when working on uneven ground or floor. I installed a 3/8" hook at the end of each horse's 2 x 4", and hang the folded-up tools between unfinished studs in the garage - this way, they take up virtually no storage space when not in use. Nice.

Although rated at one ton per pair by the manufacturer, that rating is for downward force only. A side/horizontal force rating would be significantly less than that. E.g., if the horses were heavily loaded on uneven ground, the leg-stops could collapse without warning. As an example of this weakness, a friend accidentally ruined a horse through a simple accident. With legs locked into position, he was attempting to carry the unit through a doorway. One set of legs hit the door frame, with the other set hitting his body. This mild collision bent the horse's top channel on both ends where the leg stops are attached, and the leg-stop's rivets were loosened. Luckily, our local Home Depot sells these horses in quantity one. Although rated for one ton per pair, my advice is to stay well below that weight, and don't use them for a standing platform - since side force could topple the horses.

There are two aspects of this product that should be improved.

First, instead of requiring the user to spend several minutes per horse attaching legs with small carriage bolts and wing nuts, a quick-connect method should be devised.

Second, the top channel should be thicker steel, and the rivets used to attach the leg-stops should have a large head on both ends so they wouldn't pop loose so easily -- horizontal strength would thus be improved.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best sawhorses I've owned
Completely made of metal, these saw horses are solid and stable. Legs fold when the extensions are fully retracted and there is a hole for the wing nut and bolt to hold the extensions in place. Not a problem for me. Four nuts and bolts, big deal! Eight for the pair. Each sawhorse weighs about 20 lbs. There are metal stops to prevent the legs from folding back in when they are in position for use. So, no chance for the sawhorse to collapse while holding up heavy loads. They are the best sawhorses I've ever owned. I even use them as safety catches when I do heavy squat exercises because they can be adjusted high enough. I've mounted a 2x6 on the top of them so I have something to clamp my work to and to protect the handsomely painted metal surfaces.

4-0 out of 5 stars TS-501
After using the original TS-101 folding horses for a few years and always feeling they were just a little bit to low for my back, I recently decided to purchase a set of the TS-501 folding horses. The extra height the extendable legs provide definitely make it easier on my lower back, especially when working with a sheet of ¾" plywood or something similar by myself. Portability is always a big factor for me with any tool or piece of equipment due to the fact that my truck is already well beyond being full with other necessary tools and job materials. Traditional fixed saw horses are out of the question. These horses are quite rugged and take up very little room when folded.
As with other folding horses I have used, you have to be sure and preset the legs squarely on the surface below before use or they may have a tendency to spread unevenly and become unstable when you place a heavy object on them. I personally feel that an additional locking pin for the legs would be an excellent safety improvement. For some reason there doesn't seem to be much documentation or user instruction included with the horses and not much more available on Fulton's website.
I have found that mounting a 2 X 4 on the top of the horses stiffens and adds a good deal of stability as well as helping to preventing accidental contact of a saw blade with the metal top. The 2 X 4 also helps prevent slippage and scratches the surface of the material being worked with. The legs can only be folded back in for storage when set in the lowest position, which requires removing and reinstalling the four wing nuts and bolts used to secure the leg extensions. I also believe it is intended, from a safety standpoint, that the maximum load only be applied with the legs set in the lowest retracted position, but without any documentation from the manufacture, I can't confirm this.
I don't think I would feel comfortable using these horses as a work platform to stand on, but with an eight foot 2 X 12 plank placed across them and secured in place with a couple of "Quick Clamp" bar clamps, the horses do make a good, stable base to mount a miter saw to or for use as a temporary work bench. If you need job site portability and want to make things a little easier on your lower back when working, then within the limits of the design, the TS-501 should be a good choice.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but needs improvement.
The main reason I purchased the Tote-a-Horse TS-501 was that the legs folded down inside the body of the unit - making a very small package for storage - important to a weekend warrior like myself. Each of the four legs is made up of two heavy gage stamped metal pieces. One leg segment is bolted to the TS-501 body and attaches to the second 'adjustable' segment via stamped holes and tabs, and secures with a carriage bolt and wing nut. The grist is: the legs wont fold into the body for storage unless you completely remove and re-attatch all 4 of the leg segments at the at the lowest (unusable) level. At that level there is no hole for the carriage bolt through both leg segments. So, you have to store the nuts and bolts (easy to loose) somewhere. I returned my TS-501s and got the Tote-a-Horse TS-101. Same as the TS-501 but the non-adjustable legs fold into the body of the unit - no fuss, no muss - and they're less expensive.

2-0 out of 5 stars Falling Over
There are some definite postitive features about these particular sawhorses, but as a contractor often on the move some drawbacks. The amount of weight the TS-501 sawhorses can handle is surely impressive, but the folding style legs leave an uneasy feeling with any substantial weight load. The legs never seem to open well all the way. The legs have a potential to fold with any shift of the weight. An accident like this occurred with me. I had set a significant amount of deck boards on the saw horses for the weekend and when I had returned the legs had buckled to the side, the boards were scattered and the opposite legs had broken through the manufactures stop. Fortunately nothing below was damamged and the boards remained in tact, but my saw horses are useless now. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars These work great, I bought eight pairs.
These are Fulton (brand) molded plastic sawhorse brackets. They work great, and best accomodate a 2x4" stud on top. The legs must be 2x4".

As I was researching sawhorse brackets, I also bought one pair on Amazon offered by True Value. Those are also by Fulton and are about $1.50 cheaper per pair. Also, the ones True Value offers can take either a 2x6" or a 2x4" on top. So really, the True Value ones are a better value.

Regardless, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm giving 5 stars to the True Value offering and four stars for the Grizzlies. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Unstable
I bought two pairs of these to make a couple of saw horses. The resulting saw horses are unstable because they will fall apart with little force.

The 2x4's slip into the brackets and are secured by penny nails. You then lay a 2x4 on top and spread the legs... This is all secured by a few penny-nails.

Nice a idea, but the nails don't hold the wood that well. Also, the tolerances on the metal brackets is very poor--some 2x4's requier a lot of hammering to get in, others have at least 1/8 inch of play.

Take a look at these at your local hardware store (my local home depot stocks them)... it'll become obvious how it won't hold together. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars The continuing saga of the incredible shrinking sawhorses.
The replacement storehorses arrived today and guess what? Yeah, you're right. They sent the wrong ones again. I'm sending this pair back along with a note asking them to refund my money if they can't send the right ones but I'm not counting on them getting it right this time either.

1-0 out of 5 stars The incredible shrinking sawhorses
I should have paid closer attention to the other review. None of the local stores seem to carry the extra tall sawhorses so when I found these on Amazon.com I ordered a pair. What I got was a pair of the original storehorses. Now I'm in the process of returning them in exchange for the ones I ordered. Maybe they will get it right the second time.

4-0 out of 5 stars The 10156 Storehorse
This saw house set is really great when doing a lot of working that could give a you a back ache on other sawhores. The extra height(36") makes working easier. They are very stable provided you have a level work area as there is no adjustment for uneven ground. I use them quite often for a work table in the field. For storage there ability to be collapsed takes up very little room. Plus this makes them much easier to haul to the job site instead of large cumbersome ones. I have recommened these several times and will continue to do so in the future.

1-0 out of 5 stars Reinforced Plastic
Storehorse 10115-6 is nothing more than the original storehorse. The description is misleading, I didn't see how the plastic was reinforced with any fiberglass. Also, it does not tell you that you are buying a pair, so don't order 2 like I did, or you will get 2 pair.

5-0 out of 5 stars I know what you're thinking, that's a lot of money.
I thought that too, but after I went through three cheap sets of sawhorses in a year I thought maybe I should give these a try (seems like I sneeze on some of the other models available and something breaks on them. Seventy dollars and week for shipping later I got these. They take some initial setup, you supply the wood. Takes maybe 15 minutes to get 2 sawhorses put together, including time to get the tools out and put back away. After that, these things were all business, 22 twelve foot pressure treated 2x8's and not a squeak of complaint. The weak point in the whole setup? I'd say the 2x4 I used... I think when I need to replace the boards I'm going to go cut up some 4x4's just for good measure and the extra 1 1/2 inch of height.

Just a matter of opinion, after playing with some trojan sawhorses, I think these are the better of the 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Darn Sawhorses Ever !
I bought my pair at a tool show a couple years back, and they are fantastic. Extremely rugged and durable, very compact and portable, and the powder coated finish has held up really well. I have used these horse everywhere, indoors and out, and they are light, portable, solid as a rock and have held any load I could throw at them. I just ordered another pair for a friend who is a builder. He was so impressed with mine on a job last summer that he had to have a set of his own! If you're tired of lugging lumber horses, or the cheesy stamped steel fold-up horses offered by others, invest in a pair of these. You won;t regret it ! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fulton Folding Steel Saw Horse
A very well made product, folds compactly for storage. The height is just right. However the containers they are shipped in are not exceptable. Both ends of the box were completely gone and the rest of the box was almost non existant. The saw horses had gotten bent, but rather then go to the bother of returning them I staightened them out and they were usable. The shipping time is too long.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd been wearing shoes!
I agree that these sawhorses are stable and collapse easily. I bought them because I am an apartment dweller and need extra work spaces from time to time.

Recently, I was using them for an indoor painting project and was not wearing shoes. Ten stiches to my toes later I have learned my lesson. The very bottom of the bases are like razor blades! Not only will I wear shoes when using this product in the future, I have installed foam pipe insullation to the bottom of each--they are sharp enough to require a little extra protection (just in case). Be careful!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too low.
The saw horses are sturdy, but they are eight-ten inches too low. Even with two 2x4's screwed on top, they are still low for a 6 foot(+) tall worker.

4-0 out of 5 stars Compact and sturdy
These are a great pair of saw horses which easily break down to a storable size. If you are like me, you would rather spend your time creating a project as opposed to creating jigs and other helpful items you know you need, like saw horses. What's great about these, as opposed to the ones you build on-site, is they easily break down and are reusable. Why not 5 stars? Well, each horse has 2 holes drilled in the top. They drilled them from the bottom up, so that the metal flanges on the top of the horse, so it will scratch any fine wood you put on it. I suppose they are there so you can screw scrap wood to the top or secure items to the top, and I suppose I could file the flanges down myself. But it would be 5 stars if they had just drilled from top to bottom. Otherwise, great product you will use over and over, and still leave room for other tools.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best gift you can give
I purchased these for my husband for his birthday and must say that they are the best gift he's ever received. These horses are quite sturdy, they do not wobble around like some of the wooden ones, and are quite durable. They fold completely down for easy storage, and take up practically no room at all. I highly recommend these to anyone looking to replace or to get their first set of horses. They make a great gift, and will last forever. ... Read more
