Amazon.com Review

When it comes to power and performance, few jig saws can match the 6.2 amp Milwaukee top-handle, orbital jig saw. This versatile workhorse delivers clean, accurate cuts (straight line, beveled, curved, and internal cutouts) through metal, plastic, and wood. Blade speeds of 500 to 3,000 spm are controlled electronically and can be adjusted easily on the fly with the twist of a dial. Orbital action (four settings) and shoe angle (45 degrees in either direction) are also easy to adjust and maintain for just the right power and cut. An all-metal gear case and cast-aluminum shoe provide added stability and durability. A non-marring shoe cover protects the workpiece from damage, and a built-in sawdust blower keeps the work surface clean ahead of the cut, for added visibility. As with any tool of its kind, the jig saw does vibrate a little, especially at its higher settings. Fortunately, it's not as bad as one might expect, thanks to a vibration dampening mechanism that permits quieter, smoother operation. --Carl Thress ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great jig saw!
It was time to replace my 30 year old Craftsman scroller saw, and I read a review of the Milwaukee jig saw that rated it very high. I bought one about two months ago, have used it several times, mainly during a kitchen remodeling, and I find it to be everything Milwaukee claims it to be. It cuts through wood like butter, is much quieter than my old saw, and blade changes are a snap with the T-shank blades. The only problem I have had with is the clear plastic shield in front of the blade, and the plastic 'anti-splinter device', both of which occasionally fall off the saw. It has a very long cord for a portable power tool, which is very convenient, and comes with a nice carrying case and a plastic shoe cover. Milwaukee lists an edge guide/circle cutter attachment for it, but apparently it is not yet available. This saw is made in Germany (maybe by Bosch?), and I'd recommend it to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Updated review: Less vibration than the Bosch
This is a follow-up to my previous long-winded review. I gave it 5-stars this time, so the average will be 4.5. I'm still not happy about the non-variable trigger, but this saw has noticeably less vibration than the Bosch. Even though the Bosch could start at lower speed due to the variable trigger, the Bosch still jumped quite a bit when transitioning from stopped to the lowest speed possible by slowly squeezing the trigger. So there was no advantage there. Once running, the Milwaukee was smoother. And everything about the Milwaukee's adjustments is just better. For example the shoe tilt is tool-less, the positive stops are better, and the non-marring shoe cover doesn't require a bunch of screws.

So I'm now returning the Bosch to get back the Milwaukee again.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's A Feature - Not A Flaw
Another reviewer sited the lack of trigger controlled variable speed as a reason for returning this saw and choosing another brand. I typically don't like to contradict other reviewers as everyone has their own technique and application. I would, however, like to offer a bit of a different insight into the matter. When negotiating an intricate cut, any change in SPM will impact the accuracy of the cut. I always find it advantageous to maintain a constant speed throughout a cut. Maintaining a constant speed can be difficult when the speed control is integrated with the trigger. When performing an intricate cut your grip pressure often increases and decreases in and out of the turns. An increase in grip pressure can result in more displacement of the trigger and subsequently a sudden change in SPM (and an inaccurate cut). I personally like the fact that Milwaukee has made the speed adjustable via a separate control. Unlike the other reviewer, I have not noticed high torque jumps with this saw. When I need to restart a cut I always insure that I have backed the saw sufficiently away from the uncut material. This is a great saw, and though it initially seems that trigger integrated speed control would be convenient I think the separate speed control is a well thought out design. Perhaps Milwaukee may want to implement a soft-start feature if it is widely perceive that start-up torque jump is an issue. Personally I wouldn't find such a feature valuable enough to merit an almost certain increase in price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee & Bosch Team Up to Create a Winner!!!
Other reviewers have done a good job identifying the individual strengths and weaknesses of this saw. I've always been partial to Milwaukee tools and this jigsaw is one reason why. However, I thought that I'd point out one thing that other reviewers haven't mentioned: This saw was designed by Milwaukee; however, it is manufactured by Bosch in Germany (read the label.) It's hard to go wrong when the two best names in power-tools team up to create any saw. That's certainly the case with Milwaukee's 6266-22 jig saw. With Amazon's low pricing and free shipping, what are you waiting for? Get one now. You won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee does it again
I bought this saw for a song from a local home improvement center where it was on the closeout table. It had been the display model and had no case and was missing the clear dust cover over the blade. I ordered the case ($24) for it and dropped Milwaukee an email about the missing dust cover. Less than a week later, the missing dust cover arrived in the mail at no cost to me. Kudos to Milwaukee for remembering what customer service is all about. It was a toss-up between this unit and the Bosch but what finally sold me on the Milwaukee was the blade change. The Bosch has the clumsy "lift-and-turn" lever on the top of the saw. I see great potential for breakage with this plastic lever. I note that last month Bosch introduced a new saw (1590EVSK) with a blade changing device that looks very much like the Milwaukee's.

I've used it on numerous projects already and have found this saw to be like all the other Milwaukee tools I've used; plenty of power and built to last. The only thing that took a little getting used to was the variable speed thumb wheel. It took a few sessions but I find myself being very comfortable with it now. To be fair, Milwaukee is probably re-thinking this and the new model will have a variable speed trigger but we'll have to wait and see. I've since ordered the rip fence as well as the vacuum attachment and hose. The rip fence is nice and sturdy and the vacuum attachment does a fairly good job of keeping the cutting area clear of dust. The shoe cover is a great attachment especially when working with laminates. The motor is smooth and virtually vibration-free and as I already noted has more power than the average user will ever need. This jigsaw will provide most, if not all, users a lifetime's worth of troublefree operation ... Read more

All circular saws are not equal. This one would sit above the rest even if all that set it apart was its blade-change system. No more wrestling with wrenches—-say hello to Porter-Cable's Quik-Change keyless, tool-free blade change setup. It's ingenious in its ease and simplicity. But the good news doesn't stop there. It's aggressive and powerful, cutting cleanly through whatever you feed it. The electric brake feature will bring the blade to a full stop in an amazing two seconds. Some other really nice features distinguish it, too, like the on-board cord clip that keeps the power cord clear of your cutting line. And the built-in dust port that rotates 205 degrees for efficient dust collection with a 1-inch outlet. Even the handle gets a nod from us, with its soft, comfortable grip. Miter capacity is a versatile 0-50 degrees, and of course, there's a super-accurate positive stop at 45 degrees. 5-0 out of 5 stars gotta have it
I absolutely wouldn't be without this table. It in combination with the 2700 xl table takes an ordinary table saw and turns it into a high end cutting machine. It increases the capacity as well as the safety. You can do so much more with your saw when you know you have the extra support you need. I am so spoiled by this setup , that I can hardly stand to use other saws . Unless of course they have one of these attached . ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Power Power Power
I had several saws before , but this time I decided to spend the bucks and buy a good one that would be worth fixing if the bearing went out.
Well this is everything I thought it would be and more, The only draw back is that this baby has some weight to it, My wife helps out alot and she complained the firest time she picked it up so if your not a strong arm person , this is not the saw for you.
keep in mind the 8 1/4 blades are not cheap when they can be found , but you can use the 7 1/4 if the size is not in demand.

5-0 out of 5 stars DeWalt 8-1/4 Power Saw
Simply put, this saw has a lot of power and is great for framing and ripping 2x4's. I used this saw to rip 3x10's and it handled the job with ease. I would have to recommend this saw over the 7-1/4 types. If you only can afford one saw, this is the one to buy. 7-1/4 inch type saws are lighter and easier to handle all day long, but they won't cut like this one. I own both types of saws and I usually go for the 8-1/4. They really should make a case for this thing. Mine didn't come with a case. I have to pull the blade guard back in order to store it in the 7-1/4 saw case. The 7-1/4 saw now sleeps on the floor.

5-0 out of 5 stars exceeding my expectations
I am actively involved in timber framing for myself, and have been looking for the right mid-sized circular saw for a while. I came dangerously close to ordering the Milwaukee 10-1/4" until I read a very helpful review on this site about the paper thin foot that easily bent. I already own a 16-5/16" Makita, and it is a beast, with a maximum 6-1/2" depth of cut at 90 degrees. I needed a saw that could cut 3" deep---this saw is advertized at 2-15/16", and it does every drop of that! The foot is extruded aluminum, about 1/8" thick, very stout. This saw feels no different than a normal 7-1/4" to me. The depth adjustment knob is fantastic, and the angle adjustment is a breeze. Be sure and check it when you first get your saw though. Mine was off almost two degrees. This saw will rip 3" thick SYP with the blade that comes with the saw! It is as strong as you would ever need it to be!...

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple
The 384 is the exact replica of the old B&D/ sawcat, one of the best.I would like to se it offered w/carry case & rip-guide.An absolute must for the framer.

2-0 out of 5 stars DW384
I used this babe for over two years, and have been the best saw than I own. Very well build tool have also the safety feature of an electric brake than stop it in less than two seconds when you release the switch. Very easy to adjust the zero point (kerf indicator) and parallelism between the blade and the shoe. Surprising for me was the oustanding balance and plenty of power for the hardest of the tropical woods (Use carbide tiped blade...please) Also have a cord keeper for place the cable away in some chores. The only drawback than I see, is no metric conversion kits available for the people like me than not use inches! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful machine, mostly
This scroll saw is a pleasure to use. No vibration, quick blade changes for inside cuts, many great features. The stand is sturdy (could use wheels!) and the table top is rock solid.

It lacks a light or any part to which a light could be readily attached. The dust collection nozzle works very well, when hooked up to my collector or shop vac.

My scroll saw arrived missing two bolts to hold a box which protects the wiring. In all, I made seven or eight calls to Delta. They promptly and repeatedly sent me the wrong bolts. Turns out they have no way to keep records of service calls, so you start at the beginning each time. These particular parts are mislabeled at the warehouse, and there is no way to find the right ones.

I finally gave up and taped the circuit box in place. It's a small item, but shows that the Delta customer service operation is in need of a major overhaul. Not the people, necessarily; every one was pleasant and as helpful as possible. But they are hampered by a stone-aged information handling system. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good and Simple!!!
If you're looking for a saw that will last a lifetime this is the one to get! Built to Milwaukee's tough "Heavy Duty" standards this saw has quality written all over it! It may lack the compound adjustments with all the bells and whistles and cost a bit more than a cheap Taiwan model, but outfit this saw with the proper blade or jig and it'll tackle anything from trim work to rough framing! Not to mention, with excellent power and precision. The fifteen amp motor is as powerful as it gets without tripping most circuit breakers. This rock solid machine is vibration free and most of the dust actually goes out the dust port! The high fence and clever wrench storage clip completes this simple design.

What I really like about this saw is the effective blade retraction system. The clear lower guard retracts into the upper blade guard assembly away from snagging your thumb or sleeves as the guard moves upwards. O.K., maybe it's just the way I'm holding the handle with my big hands but I have gotten the pointy joint on my thumb slammed on the retracting path of the DeWalt and Makita guards...Ouch!!! To me, there is insuffient space between the handle and retracting guard on those saws.

Along with the high sticker price, this saw should have came with a set of extentions with stopping block and hold down clamps. These accessories are quite pricey when purchased separately. I guess to enjoy fine dining you must order ala carte just as you would with this fine tuned machine!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Precise mitre saw
I use it to cut aluminum extrusions, it feels solid and makes very accurate cuts. I used to have a lower price mitre saw and this one worth the extra bucks. I think this is the best mitre saw on its class the next step would be a commercial type saw (CTD, Pistorius...)

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
I work as a finish carpenter and this is the best miter box you can buy.I've done base, casing, and crown with this and I have no complaints.Unless it's getting limited use, don't buy a $179 miter box.Get this one.The gauge is accurate and the 60 degree cut has come in handy. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

DeWalt designed this replacement for their popular DW359 circular saw to be the lightest and most powerful saw available. The result is a professional-quality tool that weighs 9.8 pounds and uses a big 15 amp motor to deliver a maximum of 2,200 watts--just about 3 horsepower. That's a technical way of saying this saw can deliver the power necessary to take on the toughest work on any construction site. The saw's magnesium base plate and guard are part of the key to the low weight. It has a slimmed-down handle, which we found more comfortable than the one on the old model, and a slimmed-down body, which allows for better cut-line visibility. When redesigning the saw, DeWalt also swapped the previous model's 15 amp switch with a 22 amp switch to make burn out at start up less likely. We really like the big 56-degree maximum bevel capacity, and the bevel detents at 22-1/2 and 45 degrees. Both bevel and depth-of-cut adjustments are quick and easy tool-free operations. Designed with professionals' needs in mind this is a powerful full-featured saw that is likely to stand up to a long life of tough work. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars unpleasant surprise
Do not buy this saw unless you have actually held one of them in your hands, and realize what you are buying!!! The Amazon website for the DeWalt DW369CSK is deceptive, although I am sure this was unintentional. None of the pictures show the rear left corner of the saw's composite baseplate. The rear left corner of the baseplate DOES NOT EXIST! The baseplate is not a rectangle, as one would expect. Rather it is a rectangle with a large part of one corner "missing". Because of this, the left side of the saw's baseplate is only 8 1/2 inches long. This, together with the placement of the main handle (grip) of the saw, make it more difficult to make a straight cut by running the saw's base along a fence. I called the DeWalt technical assistance hotline and asked why the base had been designed like that. The man was very nice, but he said that he didn't know, but it may have been to save weight. By the way, the DeWalt website has pictures of the saw, but none show it from an angle that lets you see the "missing" portion of the base.
If you do framing, this saw might be OK. However, if you use a circular saw to make furniture, and you use it to do precise cuts of large sheets of plywood by running the saw along a fence, then you want a saw with a base which is long, especially on the side which rides along the fence. I have since learned (by actually looking at the real saws, not pictures) that there are still plenty of these available. The DeWalt DW364 is one of them. It is an older style, which is a bit heavier than the newer 369CSK, and it does not have a detent at 45 degrees. But it is completely adjustable for squareness, and it has plenty of power, and it has a BIG FOOT. The Porter Cable saws have large rectangular bases. Some other saws have a small triangle missing from the left rear corner of the base, but no other saw that I have seen has nearly as big a cutout as the DW369CSK. The Milwaukee 2390-21 is one of them, but even with the cutout, the remaining straight portion is longer than the entire base of the of the DeWalt DW 369CSK, and you can easily keep it square as you move it along a fence. While all of the alternatives to the DW369CSK that I have listed are heavier than it is, they are easy to hold and are well balanced. I recommend that you choose one of them.
I had searched the web and read reviews of circular saws before buying (and later returning) the DeWalt 369CSK, and the reviews showed that it was light, had detents for two angles of cut, had a composite base, and cut at a good rate if given a good blade. No mention was made of the strange shape of its base.
While at Home Depot last night, I asked another shopper, who happened to be a professional carpenter about the DW369CSK. He said that he had bought one but he returned it as defective because the motor burned out quickly. He said that he got one of the Porter Cables and it works fine.
I recommend that Amazon add a picture of the DW369CSK which shows the base so a potential customer can make a more informed decision. I have made a number of purchases through Amazon and am very happy with them. This is the first item that I have returned.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Saw On The Market
I'm a NY framer who uses his saw literally 365 days a year. I had owned a Bosch 1758 prior to owning the DeWalt DW369CSK. After learning that Skil manufactures Boschs' circular saws I decided to put down the Bosch and go with the crewe favorite. I'm not a big fan of Skil..considering that their products are not made well at all and for a guy whos living is made based on functioning tools.....i scrapped the Bosch/Skil. Whether you're a home owner/do it yourselfer or a professional framer or contractor, the DeWalt satisfies and proves it's worth every day..every time. Anthony

5-0 out of 5 stars powerful, durable, and lightweight
This is the third circular saw I've owned and it is by far the best. My first saw (a Craftsman) gave me many years of light service until it died during a bathroom remodeling project. I killed the next one (12 amp Skil) scoring concrete with a diamond blade. The blade caused too much friction for the underbuilt Skil and literally sheared the blade bearing off. I finally broke down and bought a heavy duty saw and I wish I had done so to begin with. This saw has yet to bog down on me even though I am using my old blades. The saw cuts smoothly and effortlessly and is lighter than the Skil. The depth and miter adjustments also work much more easily than on my old saws. The electric brake is also a nice feature, but not crucial to me. All this for a reasonable price. My only gripe is that the forward handle is a bit too far away from the blade to comfortably hold onto while holding the blade guard lever for making plunge cuts. I highly recommend this saw or at the very least get any 15 amp saw for the power. Eventually you'll need it so don't waste your time or money on the less powerful saws.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good saw but beware
I went for many years doing my hobby projects with the DeWalt 18v cordless trim saw. When the projects started getting bigger and bigger and I needed a bigger, corded saw I went right to DeWalt's site to see what was available. Being right handed and having used a left bladed saw for so long it was tough to buy a right blade. I almost went with their hybrid wormdrive with the left blade but after playing with one at the store, I figured it was too heavy and too much saw for my needs. Thus the DW369CSK, great power, ease of use and excellent quality I've come to expect from my DeWalt tools. It even made the switch to a right blade easier due to the wide line-of-sight area. It's even fairly light for full power sidewinder.
I looked at Milwaukee's left blade circ and almost went that route. Honestly, it was brand loyalty that keep me with the yellow saw. I am not dissapointed in the least, though. I only wish that DeWalt would get on the ball like Milwaukee and Porter Cable and offer a left and right bladed versions.

UPDATE: I had to come back and edit this review after a decent amount of use. For the most part, everything is fine but I have determinded that I just can't get this saw to cut perfectly square. I've messed with all the adjustments and I can only get it to about 89 degrees but not to 90. Close, but not quite as they say. For my needs, this is actually fine as I don't do any precision cutting with it, but for those that do, make sure to check it with a square and ruler before using. I've lowered it from 5 stars down to 3 as this could be a big bummer for those needing a perfect cut.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great saw
My Milwakee that I had for about 8 years developed problems after cutting a particularly tough peice of pressure treated lumber. I needed a saw imediately to finish a deck I was working on. I could not find a saw that I felt comfortable with until I came across the DeWalt DW369CSK. It is light weight and is comfortable in my hand. The cutting guide takes a little getting used to, but other than that this saw has it all. There is enough power to easily handle the toughest job, and the construction of the saw is equally impressive. A saw is a very personal thing and the DeWalt is everything I could want in a circular saw. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A great design .....BUT!..........Poor Packing , MDF Junk,
I hate to talk bad about an American company But this product is Junk, South of Boarder, Bargain basement 99cent store junk, Shame on you Delta. The packing for this product,,,,,Oops....What packing........I received mine with damaged corners but the shipping box didn't show any signs of damage,,,,,,Hum. and for Delta a company the make very high quality tools, I am very sad to see a MDF ( fiber board ) table.....Not a multi lam 15 ply type board it should have been made from. But the design it self is great, it folds away with ease and has channels for the miter gauge and blade guard. Delta just got cheap with a product that isn't cheap to buy ,,,,,,,,Just be aware it's function is great the hardware is great, the table...!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Poor packaging
As stated in the previous reviews, in order to try and avoid the damage to the table with improper packaging, I ordered as well from a local woodworking store, hoping they would have better luck. Unforunately, the larger of the two tables in this item was cracked beyond repair when it arrived. The second try came with similar results. The store called Delta and insisted they send the third shipment via FEDEX, which they refused. The third attempt arrived via UPS with minor damage to the bottom and side of the table. The store offered to send it back, but since I needed it for a job and the fourth shipment could be as bad as the last three I accepted the third table.
As stated in another review, I agree, if you have Delta Unisaw, there is no need to cut off 2 1/4" from the smaller table as specified in the instructions. 1/4 to 1/2" is all you need. I mounted the brackets first, and then determined how much I needed to cut.

Overall I am happy with the product other than the shipping problems. It saves valuable shop space when folded.

2-0 out of 5 stars Delta 50-302 Outfeed Table
How can a packing box have no damage and the contents have damaged corners? Mine does and the box is in great condition.

I just got mine and it has damaged corners. Maybe the table is damaged prior to packaging? I will be able to repair but, the price is high for the quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Dented Corners Here
After seeing many reviews containing complaints of damage during delivery and quality issues, I was a bit concerned. Since I've never had a bad experience yet with Amazon.com or Delta, I took the chance. My outfeed table arrived intact with no damage at all and looks to be another quality product from Delta. Based on the extra cardboard protection I found at all four corners, maybe Delta has seen the comments and responded appropriately. With regards to the quality concerns and the use of particle board - this isn't a piece of fine furniture. It's a tool that needs to be true and stay true. When it comes right down to it, it is pretty difficult if not impossible for solid wood to compete with the deminsional stability and trueness of a thick piece of melamine covered high density particle board. $189 seems a bit pricey, but I've learned over the years, the old addage - "you get what you pay for" - rings true more often than not.

3-0 out of 5 stars Table OK, but installation is tricky
I ordered this table to go with a Unisaw left tilt, Besemeyer fence, and Excalibur sliding table. All parts arrived in good shape, and the manual is the usual Delta fare, which is to say a very good manual.

It went together OK, except for a few glitches, mostly due to my particular setup:
1) I had to remove 7 inches from the fixed and folding tables to accomodate my sliding table. It was easy enough to cut, but I sort of hated the waste.
2) The initial attachment to the table saw requires patience and a flexible body, both of which have escaped me. You have to reach inside the saw body to hold a metal plate that you then screw into place from the outside. I recommend that you have a helper on hand for this step.
3) As mentioned in other reviews, the folding portion of the table interferes with a dust collection hose. Since I don't plan to fold down the table, this wasn't a problem for me.

Unless you need the folding feature, you may be better off with building a table to the exact dimensions you need. But if space is a problem, this table will do the job well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great deal for the price!!
The MK tile saw is in my opinion a great deal, for $79.00 it's not going to be made out of heavy gauge steel or aluminum, the all plastic body is just fine though, better than steel cause it will never rust and just as light as aluminum. I have made probably 300 cuts so far with this saw and it has worked like a champ so far, it is a little bit on the loud side and will spray water at you if you over fill the water reservoir, it has had plenty of power and the fence works just fine if you line it up properly, it is light, portable and will suit the average DIY'r just fine, it will do anything that the bigger saws do just maybe a little slower, you can rent a professional saw which usually goes for around $50-$70 day but just buy this instead and take your time!! The bottom line...if you intend to do some small tiling projects around the home such as a bathroom, kitchen or entryway then definitely get this saw, if your going to be laying 5000 sq ft of tile with lots of cuts then durability might be an issue!! buy the proper tool for the job at hand.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for big jobs
I started using the saw making repetitive cuts and I thought the saw was great. It did a fine job. The little saw cut quick and clean with no problems.

I proceeded to cut pieces for trim work and the fun begin. Every tile was a different size and I had about 400 to do. It took me forever to do 40 because I spent a lot of time adjusting the rip fence. It is a pain after the table surface gets dirty.

Bottom line: my job was too large for this saw. I went out the next day and bought a more expensive saw with a sliding table and a bigger reservoir. I finished the rest of the tile in about 5 hrs. If you need a saw for repetitive cuts or for a handful of tile different sizes and you're on a budget then this is your saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pain in the neck
This could be a good saw if only the company had made the fence a little more durable and user friendly. If not just perfectly aligned the saw binds and chips the end of each cut. The guide could be easier to see also, as it gets filled with crud very quickly. I used it for about an hour on a small job that required many cuts and got so frustrated I put it back in the box for return tomorrow. That is why I deal with amazon.com.

4-0 out of 5 stars Weekend Handyman and Scubaman
This is [not a good] tool. It's all plastic except for the motor. The bed is way too small to cut large tiles, and the fence is a [not very good]. Changing the water is bit of a pain since the fence may have to be removed so the bed can be opened to dump the water out. The saw is really noisy. Tile has to be cut much more slowly than with bigger saws. But this is one of, if not the least, [costly] wet saw out there. To compensate for the small bed, I built a wooden box and placed the saw in it and

this effectively extended the bed about 12 inched in all four directions. I used a four foot straight edge and a couple of clamps instead of the supplied fence. As for the noise - wear hearing protection. I tiled a foyer, bath, laundry and closet (250 sq. ft. total with plenty of cuts around doors, pipes, mouldings) with 14 inch ceramic tile and this saw never missed a beat. I had considered renting, but this was my first tile job, and all the measuring and cutting took much longer than I had expected. Renting would have been much more expensive, and I wouldn't have the saw at my disposal to re-tile the master bath.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Plasplugs
I bought this saw after finally burning my Plasplugs 4 year old saw out because I thought I'd save [money]. How wrong I was! The motor kept tripping out, guide was ineffective and the noise of the motor deafening. Fortunately I got my money back and bought another Plasplugs saw which I was surprised to findout is made in the US and not China like MK's. Save yourself some time and energy buy Plasplugs first. ... Read more

: When it comes to recip saws, Milwaukee is the undisputed king, the "Sawzall" name serving almost as a generic label for all reciprocating saws (to Milwaukee's chagrin, we're sure). The flattery is completely deserved, especially in this case. Cordless convenience couples with Milwaukee's know-how for one of the finest recips on the market. It's incredibly well-balanced, powerful and yet easy to handle. The Power Plus battery offers improved run time over standard batteries, and time is money. We love the steel Quik-Lok blade clamp system, which lets you change out blades in a flash and without any tools. For safety, there's a lock-off trigger speed control that prevents an accidental startup. And like Milwaukee's other Sawzalls, if you're in a tight space, you can flip the blade over for close-quarter cuts. This is definitely the tool for the busy contractor. It may be a little spendy for the home do-it-yourselfer, but it's worth every penny.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I think the last reviewer got a bad one.
The previous reviewer of the Milwaukee 6515 18v Sawzall must have obtained one manufactured on a Monday morning or something. I do not own this saw myself, but I have frequently borrowed it from a co-worker and have been very impressed. Battery life is surprisingly decent, and the saw performs nearly as well as its plug-in counterpart. It's a bit pricey though, costing around twice as much as a corded saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars Did I Get A Bad One?
I bought this saw based on Milwaukee's reputation and the satisfaction I have had with their electric tools. This recip saw is no comparison to my DeWalt. It has no battery life and seems to lack the power of the DeWalt. Even when fully charged it seems to struggle through the work piece. Possibly a bad battery because I'm sure that Milwaukee would not intentionaly produce something which posesses the lack of quality as displayed in my saw. ... Read more

Whether you'll use it mainly for resawing or for creative curved cuts, you'll appreciate everything about this workhorse band saw from its rock-solid construction to its micrometer adjustment for ball bearing blade support and the blade guide blocks that assure absolute accuracy. The cast-iron table is a generous 16 by 16 inches and easily tilts 45 degrees right and 9 degrees left for bevel cuts. The max cut capacity is 6-1/4-inch thick, and even at that, with the 1-1/2 hp motor, you won't experience any bogging. Blade change, the least favorite job of band-saw owners, is really not so bad: There's a side take-out slot for the blade, and you won't even have to remove the rip fence guide rails when you're changing blades. We're impressed, too, with the Veri-Set quick-index tensioning system, designed to get you back to cutting wood and not fumbling with blade tension. Cutting brass, then steel? The multi-step pulley makes it a snap to change speeds for different materials. We didn't hook up the press to a dust-collection system, so we can't vouch for how well the integral port pulls sawdust, but the rest of its features would make any woodworker happy.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A great Table Saw with lots of Power and excellent Quality.
This was an upgrade for me from a Rigid contractor-type table saw. This is an excellent table saw that is easy to assemble if you read and follow the instructions. Mine was perfectly aligned from the factory and took me about 3 non painfull hours to assemble ( as a matter of fact, I had a good time doing it because all the parts were there). After that I was practicing and making a few different cuts to try it out with a happy smile on my face. I do use it on an every day basis, and I can tell you that it works great, has plenty of power, it's extremely straight, accurate, comes with a great fence, and it is a joy to use.
If you are not familiar with table saws in general, it would be a good idea to find out more about left, or right tilt table saws. With that in mind, see which is more confortable-convenient for you to use. Keep in mind that this saw has a powerfull 3 HP, 230V electric motor.
I started working with a contractor saw, and 2 years later I bought this Jet model with mobile base, and extension table. Now I notice the difference in power and the quality of my cuts. I am glad I didn't buy a more expensive brand. This is a great saw for the money and it will last you for a long, long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Accurate, and awesome
I love it!!
Set up, and assembly fairly easy, no problems. blade, and fence alinement, very easy.
Did some shopping around, here where I live, wasn't sure what I wanted... Jet or Delta, The jet was a little cheaper.
I'm not disappointed in the least!!
awesome saw!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Machine - almost worth 5 stars
I have owned this saw for three years now, and although I'm not a professional woodworker, I still heavily use this saw. I am quite pleased with the quality of both the saw and of the cuts it produces. The addition of a Forrest or Freud blade makes cuts which cut oak or teak perfectly, don't chip melamine, and generally complete out an already well-built machine. Having said that, I wish I'd bought a different saw simply because of a couple of seemingly minor "features" I loathe:

- The blade guard and splitter must be removed from the inside & rear of the saw. This makes non-through cuts a real pain if you regularly use the splitter & guard. Beisemeyer (who makes the Xacta Fence) makes a push-down splitter for Delta saws. This is unavailable on Jet. Why doesn't Jet do something about this? This makes it difficult to make cabinets, etc unless you run without the guard & splitter.

- The dust collection/interior access door is underneath the extension table, making it hard to get at the saw's guts and making otherwise usable storage space unavailable (the Delta Unisaw has an under-table shelf). Next time, I'd get one with the door on the left-hand side of the saw.

Overall, this is a very good saw for the money, and if you don't mind the small gripes I've mentioned, press the BUY button and be prepared to enjoy a solid performer.

5-0 out of 5 stars I want to win
I really want to win this table saw.I own other jet tools including there band saw, dust collection system and jointer,I've always like the quility of the jet brand,And right now i really am in need of a new table saw. thank you very much

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but not great; fence poor
I purchased my Jet saw after reading several reviews on the internet comparing it mostly to Delta saws. It was cheaper than the Delt and came with a dust chute which was extra on the Delta. But when it came time to assemble my saw, I noticed that the front fence rails weren't goint to fit - wrong parts. After 2 months of waiting for replacement parts (I gues a lot of saws went out with the wrong parts), I received the new parts. They were wrong too! I then was sent a whole new set of fence rails. All this took about 4 months after I ordered my saw - good thing I don't make a living with it! Then I went to use it. I couldn't zero the fence to the blade because out of all my rails, I didn't use the one with sloted holes to get enough travel to get the scale to read zero. I had to take off the front two rails and start over. Then I went to put a saw blade on. It wouldn't fit. Arbor was a little too big. Jet told me to just sand it down myself with some sandpaper (while the arbor was turning). That didn't sit well with me. Once I was finally ready to saw my first piece of wood. The tried to adjust the fence and I had to use two hands to pull or push the fence to where I wanted it. My old Grizzly contractors saw has a micro adjust knob and the fence stays parallel to the blade as it is moved. The Jet fence doesn't. Do I spend another more money on a decent aftermarket fence?! On the plus side the 3 HP motor is smooth and powerfull, and the up/down/tilt are solid & smooth. The table top is finished nicely. Overall, I probably should have gotten a Grizzly w/deluxe ShopFox fence for even less $, or the Delta. Internet reviews don't all tell the whole story. I was a bit disappointed. ... Read more

Use it and love it. Milwaukee's Magnum is magna-accurate, whether you're crosscutting, mitering, angling, or compound mitering. The miter table turns like a dream, thanks to ball-bearing construction. The sliding mechanism rides smooth as glass, too, on hardened steel tubes that let you extend for a full 12-inch crosscut. Of course, all the common angles are pre-set, but Milwaukee's unique override mechanism lets you fine-tune those presets for dead-on precision. But there are two things this saw has that we haven't seen elsewhere that makes it stand out. First, it has a cool transparent lower guard that retracts automatically, smoothly and quickly, out of your sight line when you're cutting. But our favorite feature is the extra-tall flip fence for fantastic support, whether you're cutting a plain miter or a compound. The patented fence can flip--without tools—for compounds or regular miters. It's a high-end saw that really, really lives up to its reputation and will please professionals and home hobbyists alike.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Made in U.S.A.?
After goung back and forth between the 10" Hitachi and the 10" Milwuakee,I bought the Milwuakee. It was a demo,(never cut anything, the blade was clean and the plastic blade guide was not cut through yet and still in the box) I did not use it yet and I am returning it for the Hitachi. beside the fact that it doesn't dual bevel, the blade guard isn't smooth retracting, and I assumed it was made in U.S.A, it's not!(name something that is!)It's made in Tiwian! At least the one I bought was. I have used the Hitachi before and liked it very much. So even though it's made in Japan, it dual bevels, has a much smoother blade guard, a laser, and a soft start moter, I am going with the Hitachi. I can't comment on the performance of the Milwaukee because I haven't used it. So if you are buying the milwaukee because you thought it was made in U.S.A., it's not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Saw to Buy
I have owned my Milwaukee 6497-6 10" slide compound miter saw for 2 yrs. I purchased a house that is 80 yrs old and did a complete restoration. I read a remark from Glenn TX. I have been a Toolmaker for 23 yrs, I work in tolerances of +.0000 to -.0002! So I challenged your remark that the saw is not within max. material condition for lateral movement. I used a Starret dial indicator and the lateral movement on my saw is +/- .008 with mild pressure exerted. When heavy pressure was applied my saw gave me a T.I.R (total indicator reading) of .024 or .012 in either direction.. 1/64 of an inch equals .015625! You have probably not utilised the locking pin located in the back of the saw when transporting it, confused it for a piece of luggage. The binding knobs to lock the slide on the saw are made not to white knuckle but mearly a slight sinch. And you people that talk about Makita (house of the rising sun) They make a fair product, but good luck trying to hold a precise angle with their saw they have thrust bearing float. And for those of you that say the dust collection system don't work, that is why God invented Chain Saws, wet wood is not good to cut with one of these nor does it make a good building material!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good saw, but beware...
Top quality saw. The fence system is great. The motor is excelent. It comes with a first quality blade. I won't ooze over the good stuff; there is plenty of that... I will get to the only real issues I have with the saw. First, the dust collection doesn't! Don't even bother putting the bag on, nothing comes out of the port. I have not botherd to hook it to the dust collection system and try it with suction. Not a big deal. Second, the saw was not square from the factory so I tweeked it in per the instructions and now it is square. BUT, there is too much free play in the slide system and support arm. It is easy to move a cut out of square by even slight pressure an any lateral direction on the handle. Not a big deal on most trim jobs, but if you are doing cabinets and need real precise cuts beware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool for the workshop.
I just wanted to say that the Milwaukee 10" sliding compound miter saw is a tremendously great tool for the money. To all that say their saw is out of square, just loosen the screws holding both of the fences and use a square to align them with the cut in the kerf plate. Tighten the screws and make sure both fences are straight to each other.
The motor sounds great, the saw blade that is included is a super high-quality blade that is extremely sharp. The cuts are clean and smooth.
A nice thing about the kerf plate is that it comes without the slot in it. You cut the slot yourself with the sawblade which prohibits splintering on the bottom and helps make a clean cut.
The flip fence is very cool. It is so quick to move out of the way to do a compound cut.
The only thing that needs to be seriously redone by Milwaukee is the Dust Collection system. If you need a saw that collects all of its dust, then get a different saw. I could care less, though. It is not that bad.
I 100% recommend this saw to anyone needing a sliding saw.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's good - but it ain't great.
I've had my Milwaukee SCMS for about five years now, and the best thing that I can say about it is that I didn't have to pay for it - it was a gift. Like the gentleman from Brooklyn I too have had a problem with my 90 degree cuts being out of square. Also, the thumbscrew that holds the saw in place on the rail stripped out after a couple of uses. I also wish the saw was of the dual-bevel variety, and I wish that it had the ability to make dado cuts like the Makita saws do. I guess when it comes down to it I'm suffering from a bad case of Makita envy, and the only cure is to go out and buy one. It's really too bad, because I have several Milwaukee hand tools and they're all top-notch. I think Milwaukee needs to go back to the drawing board and make a few improvements to what could be a decent saw. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Hitachi 10 inch fiber cement saw blade
This is a great tool for cutting cement siding. I use mine in my radial arm saw and get very smooth cuts. With the radial arm saw I can cut the widest planks. The dust is much less than cutting with a regular carbid blade. I also use the 7 1/2 inch blade in a circular saw for rip cuts. I am also using Malco Plank Gauges for holding the planks during installation and they are very helpful. ... Read more
