5-0 out of 5 stars Working with the best
I've been in the construction industry for 20+ years and use screwguns on a daily basis. I have used many other screwguns but over the past 5 years it's been hard to find a good screwgun. (Quality always seems to be sacrificed for price). I decided to try your product and was very pleased with it's ease of use and consistancey in screw depth. (counter sinking) This is by far the best screw gun on the market today, I've tried Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee and Black & Decker. Non perform like the Porter Cable. Word of advice, Most people use this product on wood construction, the 4000 rpm model is not as good on wood as the 2500 model. Faster is not always better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smooth, Powerful and Durable!
I have been using this model for about a year now and am extremely pleased with the overall performance. A great all around screw gun for drywall due to easy twist depth adjustment. Easy to remove nose for all other assembly needs. Takes a beating too. I have had AEG, Makita and Dewalt screw guns and by far, this is my favorite. Handy metal case has upper tray for extra tips and accessories. Take it from a pro...."You can't go wrong with this one!" ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Most frustrating tool I have ever used
I am building a log home and I purchased this tool anticapating driving hundreds of screws. Plywood sub floor; 1 1/2" spruce loft decking; 1 1/2" spruce roof decking and 5/4 " redwood exterior decking.
I started using the tool on the plywood subfloor using 1 1/2"
screws and started experiencing problems. About 1/2 of the screws only drove in about an inch. At this point I contacted the manufacturer's rep. and was sent replacement drive bits. Apparently the bits were only engaging part way into the screw heads and soon stripped. Replacing the bits after driving about a dozen screws helped a little though I soon ran out of bits. I then contacted the manufacturer and found them extremely helpful. They sent me a new driver and some more bits but this still did not solve the problems. I was still driving about 40 percent of the screws about half way and breaking about 10 percent of remaining screws. I finally gave up and drove the screws with my cordless drill.
This is the most frustrating power tool I have ever used and I have had over 45 years of woodworking experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not reliable
I purchased this tool from and honest tool store owner. I asked him about the tool and he said "The pros won't use it". I bought it anyway. The interchangeable tips are made of metal (which I like) but they do not easily swap out (tight fit). When I changed the tip for the first job I had to tap in the right sized tip with a hammer. The depth guage adjustment is ok, but you need a screwdriver to loosen the adjusting wheel, not a big deal but I wish it had all adjustments by hand. Then I started using it to secure sheetrock to a ceiling. The first half dozen screws were butchered until I got the depth set right. Then the unit started working fine for about the next two dozen screws, countersink was good. Then the next screw came out sideways and the bit hopped off the screw. I figured no problem I'll keep pushing on....This happened to every single screw I tried for the next 100 of so screws. I took the unit apart and checked for jamming, piece of broken screw, anything that might make it act this way. I put it back together and still every screw came out sideways. I figured that I was probably one of those guys that just can't screw so I finished the job with my Dewalt drywall driver. The next day as luck would have it the Hilti rep was at a local Home Depot store with the full line of their products. They had a drywall driver model SF4000 available for try out with a with a sheet of drywall that had plywood backing. The Hilti unit looks to be mostly plastic so I was a bit leary...but I tested the heck out of the gun using several strips of screws and EVERY SINGLE SCREW was countesunk perfectly. You can adjust the tip on the Hilti unit for different size screws rather than replacing the tips, you can fine tune the depth setting by rotating a collar (no tools needed). Back at the job site the Hilti has worked perfect! Like I wished the quickdrive had worked. I wanted to try the quick drive for sub floor but so far the engineers here in San Jose, CA have refused to sign off on the use of screws for subfloor, they insist on nails even though quick drive says the screws are ICBO 5350 rated. I will try to determine what is wrong with this unit and get it fixed. But for drywall, I doubt I will touch anything other than the Hilti from now on.

5-0 out of 5 stars One truly great driver!
I purchased the Quikdrive system for deck work, not so much for the speed but to keep off my knees. I was truly impressed with how easy it was to attach the extension and use. I drove an entire 12' X 20' deck with TREX decking in less than 80 minutes, that's 940 screws, including the time it took to keep the 1/8" spacing. Previously it took 5-6 hours. It never jammed, but did have 4 screws bend over when driving them, quickly fixed by straightening and driving them in with a cordless driver. I would highly recommend this driver, the time saved compensates for the higher cost of the screws.

5-0 out of 5 stars We screw down decks and subflooring
I bought a Quick Drive tool last spring because I got a contract to add decks to a lot of houses in two large developments. The contractors wanted them screwed down. At the start it was just me and one helper and we wouldn't have been able to keep up without the Quick Drive. The funny thing was that when I used the tool it worked fine but my helper couldn't make it work right. Half his screws weren't all the way down and he wore out bits fast as we put them in. I put up with him for a while because it meant I worked the Quik Drive and it was the easiest part of the job. I have a full crew now and we are framing but still doing some decks. We use the Quick Drive tool for our subfloors and it's a big help there. We get more for a screwed down floor and can do it as fast as nailing. Everybody on the crew uses it too. That first helper is long gone. Driving screws was just one of a lot of things he couldn't do right. I mean like cutting square and driving nails.

4-0 out of 5 stars >1800 screws later and my back is NOT sore!!
Like the others, I read mixed reviews about this item, but I decided to try it for myself. A friend of mine asked me to help him install some sub-flooring in his new house. So I thought this would be an opportune time to try this thing out. WHAT A GREAT TOOL!! Set-up was easy and operation was a "no-brainer". Not only was it easy to operate, but what a TIME SAVER! Simply snap in a strip of screws, and you are ready for business. As fast as you can depress the nose piece, is as fast as you can put in a screw. Heck, at one point, we had his 13 yr. old son running running this thing while we layed the flooring. We drove >1800, 1 1/4" X 8, square drive screws with EASE!

The only caveats that I have about this tool are that the nose pieces are difficult to change without the aid of some dry lubricant (as recommended by the manufacturer). However, this is because the tool is machined to very tight tolerances. The second, and last, "draw-back" is that sometimes it would not drive the last screw in the strip. In my opinion, these are very small concessions to make to reap the tremendous benefits of this tool. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough power
I bought one of these locally to hang drywall in a couple of remodels I'm doing. After going through a box of screws trying to convince myself that I must be doing something wrong, I'm going to return it. The gun frequently bogs down and stalls. On a freshly charged battery driving screws into the "field" the gun will stall roughly 1 in 10 times, forcing me to go back with cordless drill to manually set the screw. After about half a strip of screws on a battery or when driving screws into corners where it is difficult to get the gun to align perfectly straight the success ratio drops significantly.

I called Senco tech support to see what they had to say about this. I told them I was hanging 5/8" drywall with 1 5/8" screws into both old (redwood) and new replacement (fir) rafters and studs. They told me that had I called them first they would have recommended a higher torque screw gun or one of their corded guns.

For 1/2" drywall with 1 1/4" screws this screwgun may be fine, but its certainly too wimpy for my application.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gem
Every once in a while you come across a tool like this that really makes a painful job much easier. When I use this screw gun, I actually don't mind dealing with drywall.

4-0 out of 5 stars Duraspin 200
I purchased this tool and find the quality and comfort to be very high. It gives all of the signs of a tool that will last a long time. I recommend this tool to anyone who works with screws frequently.

4-0 out of 5 stars Senco drywall gun is a hit!
I used this product while sheetrocking a friends house, and now I don't know how I've worked without one. The price is a small one to pay for the speed gained. Easy to use on the fly, and with great battery life. Fairly light weight, one can use it all day without getting too tuckered out.
The bits don't just "pop out" when the quick release is open (not that there is a need to change them often), and the need for an allen wrench (included) to adjust the depth, are the only downfalls that I've encountered. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Senco has long been a leading maker of air-powered fastening systems but has rarely offered tools outside this line, so when we heard they were coming out with a professional-grade cordless screw gun, we were eager to take a look. The first thing we noticed about the DuraSpin is that there really isn't anything quite like it. Designed for drywalling, floor sheathing, and underlayment applications, the DuraSpin is a lightweight, 2,300 rpm, 14.4-volt cordless tool that drives collated, Phillips-head, or square-drive screws, 1 inch to 2 inches long, rapidly and repeatedly.

To operate this gun, you hold the trigger down and get the drive up to speed (takes just a second), then drive screws by depressing the nosepiece against your material. The screws automatically advance along a track up the front of the gun. The trick is to not let up on the trigger after driving each screw, but to back off and press the nosepiece on the next spot while the drive continues spinning.

The gun features a reliable depth-of-drive adjustment that allows drywallers to get a correct depression every time without tearing the paper. We drove an entire clip in rapid succession and, using consistent pressure, achieved a uniform countersink every time. The depth-of-drive and screw-size adjustments are both toolless, as is the bit changing, which is done with a no-chuck, pop-in-type system. Changing screw strips takes only a few seconds, and the strips themselves are a nice size for conveniently carrying in a tool belt. All in all, the DuraSpin impressed us with how easy it is to use. It's lighter and more portable than competing collated screw guns, and strikes us as a must-have in a drywaller's tool kit. It isn't designed for use with an extension kit, however, so if you're going to lay floor sheathing, you'll need your kneepads.

Senco claims the 14.4-volt battery will drive 650 1-1/4-inch screws, 450 1-5/8-inch screws, or 300 2-inch screws into wood in a single charge, and while we weren't counting screws, that sounds about right. Of course, these numbers will vary depending on the material being fastened. Each tool comes with two batteries, a charger, two spare bits, and a rugged carrying case. The batteries recharge in about an hour. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars needs some practice
great gun, but required getting used to. In that I agree with the other reviews. But ... can you imagine, a craftsman actually having to learn how to use a tool!?

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Time Saver
I am not a professional, but I found the Duraspin screw gun to be an incredible time saver. It made drywall hanging much easier and a lot faster. I hung drywall in a garage, bedroom, bath, and laundry room with the Duraspin, and it had plenty of power. The battery held up well. The second battery was always charged and ready to go, when the first battery started to lose power. The screws almost always were sunk to the correct depth (95%+). The only time I had troubles is putting a screw into the corner of a wall, and I had to go in at an angle. Sometimes I would have to follow up and sink these screws a little deeper.

I have used the screw gun on other miscellaneous non-drywall jobs too, and I have found it to be a simple, easy and fast way to sink screws into any wood job. I would highly recommend it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Incredible waste of money
I purchased a Senco Duraspin screw gun and cut out saw several weeks ago and was rewarded with the biggest disapointment of my life. The screw gun is an absolute waste of money. Right from the box the gun jammed on a regular basis...like one in five screws. There is no reverse so one has to pull the tape through in order to free up the mechanism. You can't do that without wasting other screws and they are expensive! The gun will not operate unless it is aligned at right angles to your work...and I mean it needs to be almost perfect. It is also under powered. You would need three batteries to use the gun in concert with the cutout saw as the batteries don't stay charged long at all. If you are looking for a drywall gun..go electric for less than half the money and get a tool you can work with.

3-0 out of 5 stars DURASPIN
I have used my Duraspin on 3 jobs now. It is an excellent concept that obviously was thought out well. I have experienced some difficulty on square drive screws going crooked and with not getting consistent depth of drive when my hand pressure varies during driving the screw but I think both of these problems will go away with more practice. The cut out tool that came with the gun is excellent. I recommend this gun to anyone who uses screws alot. Just wish it had reverse. With only forward drive I still have to keep my cordless drill with me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, disappointing performance
First, let me say that the automatic feed is the best idea I have seen in a while. I own several other Senco nailers and bought this on the reputation. The cut out saw is great.
The DuraSpin DS200 is underpowered and the battery is weak. I have charged and recharged the battery as recommended. I get about twenty screws per charge as opposed to the 200 the company indicates on one charge.
I like the weight of the driver, the convenience of the side clip, and the feed system is extraordinary.
The other problem is that with the square drive screws, entry has to be exactly straight or they wander and misalign with the bit. It would be nice if the company developed a "deck mate" strip for the DuraSpin.
For my experience, I should have saved my money. It would be nice if Senco could fix it because it sure is a good idea. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars corded self feed screw shooter
I read a bunch of review on the quick drive screw shooter and they seemed to be either a love or hate situation I opted to go with senco as their other tools perform well. We are currently building a 8500 sf custom home in conifer colorado. The wind is something terrible and caused delays by blowing braced walls out of plumb etc. The point is, this thing rocks. It put us back on schedule in 1/2 day of use. The only downside is that it seems to cook tips on the square drive screws... I can't comment on dry wall application yet. Well worth the money for any crew size from one to five on up i would suppose.

5-0 out of 5 stars Labor Savings!
I am a general contractor and as most contractors know, labor is the biggest expence of any job. I purchased two Senco Duraspin's and the first day on a small remodel job, the screwgun's paid their own way. WOW. I wish I would have got some last year. The assembly instructions are a little unclear as to assembly, Tool adjustments are quick and easy. The screws are kind of expensive, but I think the labor savings outweigh the added cost. ...
