Get, you'll need it sooner or later
Purchased it with Milwaukee's cordless screwdriver just in case. Well, I needed it for a task within a week after receiving it. I would not have been able to do the task with the cordless otherwise. Get it. You'll be glad you did.

Buy it now, because you'll need it later
If you have an electric screwdriver, you gotta have one of these. Compact, rugged, smooth. Has a indexed handle that can mount in a variety of positions to offset the torque. Sooner or later you're going to have a use for this on a Sunday night, when all the stores are closed, so get one now, you wont regret it! Identical as one produced by AEG, now owned by Milwalkee.

Best Tool For Tight Spots
We use this tool all the time installing stereos in cars. This tool is extremely versitile in getting into hard to reach or impossible situations. There are cheaper imitations on the market, but they do not hold up like this model, especially when used with a cordless screwdriver or drill. Add a set of hex shank drill bits to add to the versitility of this tool.

Good value for the $
It is hard to beat the value you get in this set. It contains most of the bits you would need and want. I thought it was odd however that while it contains both metric and english sockets it only has english hex keys. If your a bicyclist like me you know how important metric Allen keys are. The entire set is well layed out and labled

this set is a great value. it comes with every kind of bit you can imagine. they are not the strongest bits in the world but they are pretty tough and for the price you cant go wrong. the case is great too. all the bits have a marked spot both size and what kind of bit it is. very well thought out. if you need screwdriver bits dont wast your money buying 1 or 2 at a time get this set.

Nifty Case, Cheap Bits. Is Anything Made In USA Anymore?
I bought this set, which includes a quick change chuck, origin unkown, quick change magnetic nut drivers- 1/4",USA and 5/16", USA, quick change drill bits,USA, quick change socket adapters- 1/4", China, and 3/8", Taiwan, quick change magnetic 1/4" screw guide, China, and an assortment of screw driver bits, origin unknown, to speed up my production on projects. All are stored in a locking clam shell case, which when flipped open reveals two locking storage compartments which have spacers to seperate the various bits. Nice case! It's made of durable plastic, everything locks up, and gives you a convenient little package in which to store all your small bits and driver accessories.

The "accessories" which came with this kit leave something to be desired. The quick lock chuck is fine. It appears to be of decent quality (origin unknown) and doesn't have too much slop when inserting a bit. By the way, it's too big to fit in the clam shell case. The bits on the other hand come from at least three different countries!
The USA, Taiwan, and last and certainly worst, "the great land of China." I have nothing against the people of China but their tools ... - bad metallurgy and bad tolerances. I apologize if I have offended anyone: I'm passionate about quality. Anyway, when I looked at the packaging before buying this Dewalt kit, the package said "Made in the USA". So I bought with confidence. Silly me! I prefer American, German, and Swiss tools.
Unfortunately, the quick change drill bits 1/16" to 3/16" were stamped USA and looked pretty roughly manufactured: they were dull, had a "painted on" appearing finish, and didn't fit snugly into the quick change chuck. The hex ends of these drill bits are not steel: a magnet won't hold them. Maybe they are aluminum? This was a disapointment to me. I expected better quality, especially from something that is supposedly made in the USA. The bits made in China and Taiwan and "elsewhere" fit in the chuck fairly snuggly, but their finish and appearance are a little rough, and I have doubts about the durability of the steel in these bits. Several of them are already developing rounded, "chewed out," edges, and this is only from light use. Dewalt, what is happening to you? Your quality is going down hill and then you deceive the public through false labelling.

So the end result is that I like the case and chuck, that's where the three stars come from (actually I would rate this kit as 2 1/2 stars if I could) but consider most of the bits and drills in this kit to be throw away junk. ... ... Read more

Money well spent.
After reading all the negatives. I had to give my opinion. The drill driver set is one of the best tools I have ever purchased. I've been a carpenter for over twenty years and I've spent a lot of money on tools. Good and bad. Whether your working in the shop or your building a deck in the backyard. This tool makes the job easier. You drill and counter sink the hole at the same time, flip the driver around and drive in the screw.
The shaft that fits in the drill has a locking collar, when you flip the driver around it locks in place and will not come out until you unlock it. The only problem I have with the tool is the shaft will occasionally fill up with saw dust and the collar will not lock. All you have to do is tap your drill and problem solved. This tool was well thought out, there is an allen key built in the end of the shaft. You can change your bits and screw tips right on the spot. They even give you extra drill bits and extra allen screws. $37.00 does seem to be a little high, I paid $29.00 a couple years ago at Woodworker's Warehouse. Buy the set it's money well spent.

Worked Great Until....
I used this set for a a long time and thought it was the best thing ever, even bought it for friends and family. Over time though bits slip or break and need replacing. Tightening down with the hex screw works for awhile but eventually it just becomes too loose. The reversible bits eventually get sloppy in the locking mechanism too. Its still in my toolbox but I've upgraded to a Jack Rabbit Cabinet Maker set and it is incredible.

This item is way to much over priced... I opened the package and immediately started scratching my head in disbelief. Even with the free shipping it wasn't a deal as far as I'm concerned.
This is the chance you take buying through a catalog....

Watch the water
A really nice set that comes in an excellent case. The allen key to adjust the bits is in the driver so you always have it. Although you have be careful and always lock the bits in otherwise the drop right out when the drive is turned upside down. I was putting deck boards on a floating dock and dropped the 6, 8 and 10 bit in the water. I had to go to Woodoworker Warehouse to replace them. ... Read more

Don't Buy Other Manufacturers' Hex Shank Chucks
I have used the Makita and Stanley, and they are junk compared to the DeWalt. The BIG difference is that the collar on the DeWalt is spring-loaded so that you just push the bits in and they lock in. All the other brands that I have seen, you have to pull back the collar manually (a 2-handed operation) to insert the bit. The device is sturdy and a time-saver over other brands of similar function. Long Wait
This tool is very versitable and convienent. It is a must for jobs requiring predrill(not countersink). The 4 piece set will do most jobs. The only concern I have with this product is the availability of it. I waited 4+ weeks for it to arrive. Also I have not been able to locate any replacement parts in any of my local stores.
