Terrible product
I have had this product for a year one in my wifes car and one in my truck.
We have had hers into the shop multiple times because it won't work over 70 % of the time.
Mine works more but not all the time.
I am sorry I bought these starters.
When you call audiovox you are on hold for about 30 minutes and they just tell you to have the shop call them when you take it in which they do to no avail.

All I have to say is it sucks! I have bought two of the 479V remotes and they have both crapped out on me. Not to mention, I tried calling Viper Alarm systems and their customer service sucks because they won't even return your calls. They don't insure their remotes either. I just purchased an older vehicle as a second car and didn't want to spend a lot on a professional install. I more or less wanted an alarm to protect the belongings inside my car. The Optima II fit the bill; it DID take 10 minutes to install! It works like a charm. I would recommend this alarm to anyone that doesn't necessarily need an engine kill switch. Only CON:I didn't like just sticking the unit to my car battery with the sticky tape. Could fall off. I plan to tie a bungee cord, or the like, around the battery for security.
