5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing clamps!
As of writing, I have only had my Quik-Grip clamps a single day, but I already absolutely love them! They are easily set up with only one hand, which is really convenient when clamping down a homemade fence for a router table, or anthing else that reguires the other hand to hold your workpiece down.
This package of clamps is a very good deal too. Ratcheting hand clamps are usually very expensive (the price of the two largest clamps from a home center is about the same as this entire package!). The description says you get 2 2" smaller clamps as well. I got 4! I don't know if this an error, but I'm not complaining!
Ratchet clamps, although expensive, are totally amazing. They are especially handy for sanding and routing, where vibration can undo screws. This package is a great deal and I haven't ruled out buying another set. These things are total time savers.
(And, if you ever get really bored, you can race them! We actually used to do that in my shop class!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive!
Once you start using these Quick-Grip clamps you will think that all other clamps are obsolete. They supply all the power you can possibly need and are so much quicker on and off that repositioning them is a snap. They take a lot of the "stress" out of having to race to get your glue-up clamped. As soon as I finished using them the 1st time I ordered more. ... Read more

Outstanding clamps for one-person operations. But you need more than one set (of two) for normal cabinets. I bought two sets (four clamps) and thinking about more.

5-0 out of 5 stars These things are great!!
These clamps are simple and they work perfectly. Won't ever build cabinets without them again. I'll be ordering more to save even more time during fit-up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like two extra hands
These are great, I used them yesterday to put togeter some cabinets. They held the two parts together untill I had put in some brads. The springs are strong and hold the timber very solidly. Get yourself a pair !

5-0 out of 5 stars A great helping hand
These things work great. They are very quick and work just like you would think. They do not pull boards together, but they do hold them square and where you put them. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great help for any trim job
These little clamps are great on any mitered joint--whether it's base, casing, crown or cabinet doorframes. They will also allow you to clamp up 45-degree joints (like on cabinet face frames or column wraps). Your joints will be tighter than you can ever get trying to hold the pieces and brad them together. Just clip it on and watch the joint push together.

The sharp points will leave a small brad sized hole, easily filled for paint grade. You make up for the small indent on stain grade by using fewer, if any, brads. The points on the clamp can tear soft woods, or even hardwoods if not planted securely before releasing the spreader.

Buy extra clamps--you'll quickly find so many uses that four will not be enough. We usually have 10 clamps between the two trim carpenters, and are looking for more.

5-0 out of 5 stars much needed fix
As a trim carpenter I've found these clamps to be just the thing for tightening up outside miters in crown molding, baseboard, casings, mitered risers, etc. An ingenious, lightweight and inexpensive tool I reach for all the time. The spike tips can leave an unsightly gouge in soft woods, but for paint grade work it doesn't matter, and most of the natural species we use (maple, oak) are hard enough that the clamps only leave a brad-nail-sized hole. Haven't tried the suction cups yet -- maybe that's the ticket. Buy 'em.

5-0 out of 5 stars handy for several uses
i originally bought this set to glue up picture frames. which it does very well. now i am using them to squeeze casing and base trim joints together when i trim a house.. i like the low initial investment with the ability to add to the set later. definately a great buy on a usable tool ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Ride the Pony
You can buy [less expensive] versions of this clamp...

The plastic wears off and then the metal edges show through. Then the plastic comes off and gets lost. The springs are barely passable when new. Not the Pony.

The plastic does wear off, but not until after a long time of hard use. It use them at the miter saw table all the time. Makes it easier to cope molding when it is clamped to something solid.

5-0 out of 5 stars Necessary Part of Woodworking
I use these clamps all the time. They are the best solution for the following:

1. Holding down boards when plunging a plate joiner (biscuit joiner).

2. Clamping two flat boards together to drill through both of them.

3. Holding down a straightedge while marking a long line.

The great thing about these clamps is that they go on and come off in a second, so you can hold wood down, do what you have to do, then turn the wood, re-clamp, turn again, etc. Also, unlike the "vise-style" clamps, they do not damage wood.

4-0 out of 5 stars WHY ME?
I have always used PONY spring clamps because their quality is superior to cheaper models. They have a high quality spring, fine finish and better tip pads that stay on unlike quick-grips yellow tips which come off too easily. HOWEVER loyal PONY users should check out the PONY 3-way spring clamp which works as a spring clamp or as an incredibly simple edge-clamp. The 3-way edging spring also made by PONY, is a superior tool and more tool for your money. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

As its name implies, the Handi-Clamp is a handy tool to have around when you need to hold a work piece securely in place while working on it. The lightweight clamp squeezes into place easily and holds fast. Non-marring pads grip the work surface tightly, without damaging it. And a quick-release trigger on the handle makes it easy to remove or readjust the clamp as needed--no screwing, twisting, or tightening, just squeeze and clamp down. A larger, 4-inch version of the Handi-Clamp is available for clamping thicker materials, too. Rule number one in a workshop: You can't have too many clamps. --Carl Thress ... Read more

Features

  • Non-marring swivel pads protect work pieces
  • Jaws are designed to reach around odd shapes
  • One-handed operation is a major convenience
  • Quick release trigger lets you remove the clamp without hassle
  • Non-slip handles guarantee grip

5-0 out of 5 stars Look! True One Hand Operation!
I bought mine to hold shop-made jigs in place while routing and sawing. They are very convenient to use. The jaw has a maximum opening of about 2", but to get a really tight grip, about an 1 1/2" thick or less works best. I always keep the black release lever on the top handle if I can. Two of these will hold a jig very tightly. The rubber pads will not mar your workpiece or slip.

I have modified a few of my jigs by gluing 400 grit sandpaper to the bottom of the jig with spray-on contact cement so they grip the workpiece better. One finger will release even the tightest grip by pulling up in the black release lever. They are so much easier to use than "C" clamps or even larger Vise Grip bar clamps, which both have to be operated from below the table to assure a lower profile in your work area.

These are tough little clamps that you will find new uses for whenever you're in the shop. Get several - you don't want to end up "one clamp short of a set-up."

5-0 out of 5 stars Best thing since sliced bread...
I saw a bin of these in the store a couple months ago and, since they were cheap, decided to get one. I was amazed at the versatility of this clamp. It's at least as easy to use as a spring clamp - but it clamps as hard as you squeeze it. They work great for holding straight edges for routing or sawing and they never slip. It's like someone took a plastic spring clamp and a pair of vise grips and mated them! I'd give this tool 6 stars if I could.
Note: my original clamps were useless after a few months because the little springs fell out. However, they have improved the design so that this doesn't happen anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool tool
I like these much better than the spring clamps we all use. It exerts more pressure with an easier release than a spring clamp of similar size. Just squeeze to lock it and it stays put. I used a couple the other day to hold a straight edge for routing dado's. I cut 3/4 x 1/2 deep runs with no slippage from the clamps. When I was done with each one I just squeezed the release and went on to the next . Lickety split. Nice idea !

1-0 out of 5 stars Good concept, poor execution
I have had two of these clamps for a few years now. They are as easy and convienient to use as the positive reviews describe, yet I hardly ever use them. They simply won't retain enough clamping pressure for most uses. As soon as I release the handles, about 80%-90% of the pressure disappears. Since basic spring clamps are just as easy to use, hold better and are much less expensive, I see no reason to buy this clamp. If I lost mine, I don't think I would ever miss them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent in some applications.
As noted in some of the other reviews, these clamps do not apply that much pressure. As such, they do not work well (or at all)for some applications. When I used them to secure pieces to a workbench for chiseling, they would lose their grip after a limited number of strokes.

That said, these clamps work very well in other situations. I find that these are the best clamps for securing plywood to sawhorses when cutting with a jig or circular saw. They can be applied and removed within seconds, speeding up the work flow immensely. These clamps would be worth purchasing for that application alone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great as long as you don't open the jaws up too much
The clamping action gets weaker after about 1.5" of opening.
Otherwise, it's inexpensive and works great.

5-0 out of 5 stars 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th...... Hands
I've had a box of these for quite a while and I'm always finding new uses for them. They are real handy to hold stop blocks on your radial arm saw fence, drill press fence and table saw miter gauge fence. I hold projects together during "dry assembly" and while tracing parts for reproduction. You can clip a note or plan on anything the jaw will stradle. Did I mention gluing? They're just a little too tight to use for a nose clamp when you're working around Ralph after he had those beans for lunch, but you should use a respirator, anyway.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extra hand for a little price!
