5-0 out of 5 stars Mullet not required!
Mullet Buster? Interesting name - great tool belt. I bought this primarily because of the padded suspenders. I don't like standard tool belts which fall down after a while unless you tighten them up well, which doesn't feel comfortable to me. The suspenders put the weight on your shoulders which works better for me. It also looks impressive!

An insane amount of storage pockets are on this belt, and the cell phone pocket on the suspenders (which do come off by the way) is handy. It puts the phone closer to where you can hear it. I used to hate never hearing my phone when strapped to my waist in an noisy environment. Actually, there is a second phone pocket around the waist area, which is handy if you have a cell phone and a 2-way radio, you can protect them both. Clever!

I'd definately recommend this tool belt. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Everybody Is Different
I thought I would like this tool system. I have all the same complaints about my old tool belt as everyone else. Hurts the lower back, makes bending difficult, etc.... This suspender system seemed like a good idea, and it is. Just not for me. I tried it around the house for a few hours and noticed that when I reached over my head, the stiff shoulder pads pushed on the sides of my neck, though these may get softer with wear. And that my shoulder muscles had to lift the entire weight of the bags when reaching upwards.
Also, these bags are BIG and WIDE! You will have to be careful if you are a remodel carpenter, walking through finished doorways and hallways.
Still, this rig is very well made and if you need to carry lots of heavy tools and want to give your lower back and your waist a rest, this may work for you. It's a trade off.

3-0 out of 5 stars Take Carefull Consideration!!
I purchased this belt set last January and I was impressed with how it relieved the stress on my lower back. I was also relieved of waist rot from conventional tool belts. The suspenders were easy to set up with the instructions included. Break in takes about a full week. Pouches do hold lots of tools.
As hotter weather came along, the suspenders hold a lot of sweat (later they began to smell). But I also noticed it was very uncomfortable when the suspenders wouldn't allow for your upper body to cool off. My shoulders also began to chaf.
As for movement, the system doesn't cling to you. But working in very close quarters, (i.e. lifts, steel joists, some scaffolding, etc.) it was easy to get hung up and scrape against walls.
I am considering selling my suspension belt, but pondering the fact that its not a bad set to own if you switch between this system and the belt a few times a year. That way I wouldn't wear out body parts to quickly.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Best Available
I owned the pro framer for years; then sold it to a helper for $... and he was happy. I bought the Pro Trimmer but was disapointed because the speed square holster (between the small and large bag) was not available on a rig of this size. After awhile I forked over the big bucks for the Stronghold System-the best there is. Oh I've read the reviews:adjustment-if you can't adjust this system you probably shouldn't be doing carpentry;the yoke; heavy duty, extreme quality products take time to break in-like good leather work boots or the Carhartts that last longer than anything else; the back strain relief; a no brainer-buy a weight belt and wear it along with the system-there is no belt to interfere; lastly, if you wear a framing belt in a finished house or around cabinets your going to mess something up-don't do it-I build cabinets and built-ins and do general carpentry for a living. The only criticism I have(the part about the missing star)is that this product should be available with the lightweight, green leather bags. After 1 year the nylon shows signs of extreme wear at the front corners. If Occidental Leather would do this for us I would be one of the first to buy them even for $... . I will wear this for as long as I work! The writing is on the wall; perfect this product and it will be a five star masterpiece second to none.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love it!
I have the Stronghold system in leather, which [is no longer listed]... I think it is first rate in functionality and comfort, and wouldn't return to a belt. I think you have to analyze your needs and body type carefully: this system isn't always going to work better, for instance reaching up can be tiring, though that is true of suspender. If you have the kind of body that rides a belt, without suspenders, and it never shifts, binds, or restricts your breath, good for you, stay with the belt. It takes, however, only a few inches on the waist, whether from brownies or winter clothes for me to be hauling on a belt all day long.

Another issue to look at is back pain. This system puts all the strain on your shoulders, were it flows down through your spine, and you don't have a big belt supporting the small of your back. That works out better with my back pain, but it may not for yours.

I am 6'1", and I have no problem fitting this strap set. I like my knuckles to drag in the bottom of the deepest nail bag, which is a higher setting than many prefer. The bags by themselves are unique, and would fit nicely on a safety harness if the inspector prowls your worksite.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beltless tool bag review
Whats good:

1. The bag is made of very durable materials and should stand up to many years of jobs site use. 2. There are plenty of pockets to hold small items such as tape, pencil, knife, screw drivers, etc. at very convenient reach. 3. Slips on and off in seconds. 4. Allows the user to bend at different angles with out being confined by a belt around the waist. 5. Pouches are less likely to spill contents when working at different bent over positions. 6. Two large pockets to hold larger sized tools.

Whats not so good:

1. The system is difficult to adjust for use the first time out of the box. (Set up is done only once so this is a minor pain only) 2. The shoulder pads, although very comfortable, will get dreanched with sweat if you work in the heat. (I need to think of something for the odor?) 3. The system does not remove weight from your lower back as I had thought it might. You can carry a ton of tools with this system, but you will feel it by the end of the day.

I install siding, windows and do general carpentry. This bag gives me flexiblity and capacity that I didn't get with my old belt. I like the system and would recommend it to people that feel confined by belts or that are looking for a good capacity well organized system.

Hope this is helpful ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Must Have for the Weekend Handyman
This item saves me so much time, I must waste 2 hours per weekend looking for the tape measure, pencil, hammer, or whatever that I layed down somewhere around here. It is well constructed and stands up to the rugged use that home projects sometimes call for. You can load it up or leave it light. I'm actually thinking of getting another one so I can have one setup for General Maitenance and another setup for specific projects. So now I'm always ready to tackle that Honey-do list that is now up to three pages long!

2-0 out of 5 stars shop bib review
The bib material is A OK but the quick release buckle was of very poor quality and will not stay closed. I am currently looking for another buckle that I can have someone with a heavy duty sewing machine will replace.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than A Belt For DIY
I had the lesser version until the hammer loop broke, then I ordered the 'Big Dog'. I found this version to be much better. There are two hammer loops, multiple screwdriver pockets, six big pockets, and adjustible straps. This apron is easy to put on, and take off. When, and if, this apron breaks, I will quickly purchase another.

If you are used to a belt, this will take some time to get adjusted to, but it is far superior, for small jobs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indestructible apron...
As a carpenter at a psychiatric hospital I need to keep my tools close to (if not on) me for obvious safety reasons. The pockets, and dual hammer loops keep all the tools, parts, and fasteners I need at hands reach. It also helps you work more efficiently (think of all the time you spend picking up individual tools set on the floor etc.).

I have purchased more than a half dozen of these fine aprons, but I haven't worn out any of them. These things wear like IRON! Unlke those other cotton work aprons that mysteriously morph into "baby bibs" upon their first experience with a washer/dryer, these duck aprons merely get softer and more comfortable this each cleaning. I pick up another one as they become too unslighlty for the hospital appearance standards from my wiping paint, caulk and construction adhesive on them.

I recently gave 2 of my older aprons to an appreciative couple of friends who are doing the total house rehab thing. They wonder how they ever operated without them! If all products performed as well as this it would be a better world!

4-0 out of 5 stars Well made bib.
This is a quality bib. I would have given it five stars, except that it could be improved by changing the strap that goes around your neck. If you put much in the bib, the nylon strap rubs and cuts into the back of your neck. A shirt collar helps, but I often work in a t-shirt. If they made a padded section around the neck, I'd give it five stars. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for more than moving
Great quality, good size, and very durable. These things are great for many things, but I use them as a pad for my finishing bench when I'm getting ready to complete a piece of furniture. After putting a good deal of time and attention into a piece it's great to be able to lay it on it's side or even upside down with out scratching or denting the wood. I have one for sanding and one for finishing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great For Sound Studio Flutter Control
I have a converted garage recording studio, and a huge problem has always been echo (flutter).
These thick/textured/heavy blankets are a very inexpensive way of controlling flutter.
I currently have attached them to the walls with velcro making them portable as recording sessions warrant.
I have one in use as a "curtain" for a vocal booth as well.
Highly recommended if you are looking for this sort of thing.
Happy recording.

2-0 out of 5 stars sandhill moving blanket quality
I purchased 2 sandhill moving blankets. My following comments would cause me not to buy them again:

1) Because of backorder it took me almost a month to receive them.

2) Multiple colors cause edges to not be sewed.

3) After 2 weeks usage one blanket has stitching coming out in 2 places

5-0 out of 5 stars Sandhill 501S Quilted Moving Blankets
This is a good size ,for example,to protect dining room table tops, from stuff stored on top while in storage. The blankets are thick enough to do the job. I was happy that the blankets were stitched well, and reinforced around the edges. I'm not saying these are any fancier than what they were made for but were made well enough to hold up to that job.
I got mine because I have to lay and kneel on the garage or shop floor alot to work on lawn tractors and our cars. As I got older and after a recent serious illness, that became quite painful. The Sandhill 501S Quilted Moving Blanket makes it alot more comfortable. It also keeps clothes cleaner and tools from rolling around so much.
I'm happy with this purchase. The item is quite versatile and I can rely on it to hold up no matter what.

5-0 out of 5 stars Much heavier than standard moving blankets.

Amazon.com Review

Designed for professional use, and offering considerable savings over all-leather tool belts, the Contractor's Rig by Bucket Boss is a lightweight tool belt that's still packed with features. With 30 pockets and built of Anso-Tex nylon, this belt is roomy enough and very tough. You'll really notice the considerable lack of weight--especially compared to leather models--and that's where this belt wins most of its converts, by pleasing guys who are tired their tool belt's dragging them down. The Contractor's Rig also includes foam-padded pockets; a padded, adjustable belt that fits waists 28 to 52 inches wide; a cat's paw sleeve; padded hammer sleeve; a special tape measure pocket; and generous nail and screw storage. Overall, it's a solid choice. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for Light work !
I've used this tool belt rig for over a year now in Florida, doing custom High-end trim work. I'm a professional with over 20 years in the field so I guess I can critique with some authority. The actual waist belt " sucks !" it went directly to the trash ! the left side fastener belt has good storage saving the fact that both small outside pockets lack depth and tend to rip where they are fastened , the steel framing square pocket could be a little deeper too! the pouch also lacks a tape pocket where you can easily access your tape measure , a clip would not be acceptable. The right hand tool pouch is pretty good some more inside partitions wouild be nice but , Oh Well! The hammer holder is useless I've closed the bottoom with a n electrical ty and use it for keeping a skeine of masons line in it. I've added a seperate hammer holder and use a seperate tape holder with the adddition of a STRONG 3" leather belt . I've hhad this belt for awhile as I've said and its time to have it restiched or replaced . Hard to get these things perfect I guess! all in all what can you get for FORTY BUCKS these days

5-0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't buy any other toolbelt.
I am on my third "contractor's rig". I have something stuffed in every pocket. I re-hab old houses and I do more things than just carpentry. I carry a framing hammer, nails or screws for the job, screwdriver, pliers, cold chisel, awl, nailset, utility knife, crescent wrench, miniature screwdriver, 5 pencils or markers, razor blade scraper, electrical tape, 2-prong plug adaptors, electrical connectors; latex gloves, sandwich bag of misc. fasteners, paper towels, paint can opener, wood dowels, end nippers, wood chisel, nail claw, (2) voltage ticks, flashlight, 25' tape, some other odds and ends, and safety glasses. I like a toolbelt that is lightweight so I can pack around more tools. I like the Contractor's Rig having so many pockets... it has spoiled me for any other toolbelt... I am always on the lookout for a toolbelt with more utility, but I haven't found it yet. I have to use padded suspenders from Nailers with it because of the weight (and to attach my cell phone to), but, the belt is not all that easy to attach suspenders to. I have a 32" waist, which means the two bags, the tape holder bag, and two hammer loops (sometimes I carry an extra hammer or prybar) pretty much fill up the belt for me and still keep the bags off my thighs and to the side when I climb ladders or work on my knees). I have had to make repairs and sew up the toolbags a few times, but if you are using a toolbelt every day it is going to suffer wear and tear. The hammer sleeve makes a great place to store safety glasses.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Im a helper with a crew that does rough framing and have been using this rig for a little over a month. Overall I am satisfied with the belt, especially the price. A helpers pay won't afford one of those $100+ setups out there.

Each pouch has a nice big pocket that can hold a ton of nail clips even if you have a bottle of water in there, which you need in this south texas heat. When I first got it I had to switch around the left and right pouches. I like the one with the two fastener pockets to be on my left. They work out great. I keep a small supply of hand drives in one and cap nails in the other. The third nail pocket on that pouch keeps concrete nails, but its hard to get my fingers into it. And theres no way a human hand can fit down there. Having that speed square pocket on the left is nice to.

The tape holder doesent seem like it would work well. And every time you look down at it you wonder how in the world your tape hasnt fallen out yet, but it works great. Its nice to not have your tape taking up pouch space. My tape has never fallen out - (a 25') but I don't think it would hold a 35' well. The hammer hanger is excellent and works way better than the hammer sleeve. That hammer sleeve DOES NOT protect your leg. My estwing beats the heck []out of my leg if I keep it in that sleeve.

The right pouch has a mammoth pocket just like the left one. And it also has three small pockets inside it that hold my knife, torpedo level, and pry bar perfectly (wish I could keep that bar somewhere on my left though). The middle pocket (which I didnt even notice for a few days) holds a chalk line like a dream. The bottom most pocket I dont have anything in but its nice to have that storage space. I like to keep the big pockets for nail clips.

There are a great many places to put pencils but no pencil pockets where I REALLY want one, its not a big deal though. The pocket that has the covered flap works well to hold a short ratchet action screw driver I have.

The nylon is much tougher and resistant to tears and punctures than I thought it would be. No need to baby this rig. The belt itself is comfortable (once you get it adjusted where you like it) and unless you are really loaded down with stuff you don't really notice your wearing it.

I can't comment on whether or not this would make a good "contractors" rig but it sure makes a great "helpers" rig. I would definitly recommend this belt to anyone that needs a good rig but doesent have a ton of cash to spend.

1-0 out of 5 stars Contractor's Rig????
My advice is to pass on this tool belt. [After two months of use] this tool belt is coming apart at the seams with VERY light duty use[...]. I doubt it would last a week as a "Contractor's Rig".
In addition it has been a pain to use since day one. The belt simply will not hold its position, if you buy this tool belt plan on occasionally wearing it around your ankles.
Also, the front nail pockets flop around dumping their contents as you walk, kneel down, or climb ladders.
I own other Bucket Boss items that have proven very durable and useful. In my opinion they missed their usual high mark on this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars "Contractor's Rig"? I don't think so!!
My advice is to pass on this tool belt. I received this item on April 9, 2002. It is now June 6, 2002 and this tool belt is coming apart at the seams with VERY light duty use (just as another reviewer mentioned it's the stitching at the tool slots). I doubt it would last a week as a "Contractor's Rig".
