Not the best workmanship but the price is right
The quality of the wood and workmanship of this chest is a little better than the typical "made-in-China" quality. But the hardware is pretty low-grade. Having said that, what you do get is a pretty solid (it survived UPS unscathed) utility chest with velour-lined drawers that fit and slide nicely. It is now housing my woodworking measuring instruments. Recommended.

Sisco MTV7 Solid Hardwood Utility Chest
I am disappointed with the quality of the product. The finish is poor quality. It is not uniform in color or application. The hardware is poor quality. The buyer must install the pull knobs, which is okay, but the screws were too long. I had to find and add some washers so they would tighten. The side handles do not match. One raises above horizontal, the other does not reach horizontal. A nail, intended for one of the drawer slide rails was inserted above the rail and was scoring the drawer.

Solid Hardwood must be the name used to define the laminated fiberboard. From the outside, it appears the chest is constructed from real wood. If you remove the drawers and look inside, you find that the drawer bottoms, the side panels, back panels and bottom are fiberboard.

The top compartment and the drawers are lined with something similar to felt. They hold the material in place by way of an adhesive. Wrinkles have formed due to improperly sized fabric.

Finally, when the top is closed the drawers are not secured. You must take extra care to prevent drawers and contents from dumping when moving the chest.

value priced chest
purchased this chest for a fishing friend to store fly tying materials within and he is pretty pleased to have it. he said that it was something that he would take good care of but that was not an heirloom piece. I thought that description fit what I was needing just about right. thinking to order one for myself at this time so it must be good enough for the purpose intended.

Good Chest for the price
I read all the reviews on this item and just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I got mine last week. It was shipped with no problems. Everything was there, nothing was broken. They obviously got the oil problem taken care of because mine was just perfectly finished. It's not a Gershner box, but you didn't pay $500 for it either. It's a good place to put your "critical" tools so they don't get damaged. For $50 bucks, it's a good buy. I had no problems what so ever.

I can't believe these negative reviews!!!
When I decided to purchase this chest, I had real reservations based on the negative reviews. Well, I got mine in the mail today and I LOVE IT! It's exactly what I expected. No, it's not solid oak with real brass and velvet...those chests cost hundreds of dollars, remember? But it's heavy, sturdy, NOT broken, bent, cracked, whatever else they said about it. You DO get what you pay for!
There is a reason Gerstner has been around since 1906. Customer satisfaction and product excellence! There is no other wood chest that can compare to Gerstner Chests - period! These chests are built with heirloom status in mind, you know that they will last far beyond your lifetime. My great grandfathers Gerstner chest is still in great working condition and it's from the 1910's! I expect my new one will last just as long. Hats off to Gerstner for staying made in U.S.A. and keeping quality a top priority! The price is easily justified once you see how well the drawers slide and the fit and finish of all the parts - its a quality product and deserves it's top notch reputation. Their brochure and website claim to have "the finest chests built in America" - I think they have the finest chests built in the world! You will never be disappointed with a Gerstner chest. My Dad still won't let go of my great grandfathers - one of these days I hope to own it as well. Terrific bargain
If you believe in protecting your tools, and at the prices tools go for why wouldn't you?, this Milwaukee Steel Carrying Case is is ideal. It's sturdy, roomy, and conveniently laid out. The locking mechanism is reliable, unlike other cases. If you are a professional or just handy around the house, this box is a necessity, not a luxury. And at Amazon's prices--a bargain.

Tight, Compact, & Rugged
Every bit of a great place to keep the tools. I have a Milwaukee drill in mine--and the case provides a safe, compact and rugged place to maintain and tote a tool.

Great Case
I'm a believer in cases for my tools ........ saves them from damage and this is one of the best. Plenty of room for a drill with bit and a tray for accessories. Well made, it will last as long as the drill. Metal cases are a vanishing breed, probrably for cost reasons.

Excellent accessory to any of the Milwaukee drill motors.
I don't understand the attraction to all the plastic blow molded cases that come with the power tools today. None of them, even Milwaukee's plastic cases, have additional room for all the accessories you use with electric drill motors. I have a Milwaukee 12Volt screw gun and their ½" Magnum Hole Shooter and both came with the steel carrying cases which I fully utilize.

The removable tray is excellent for bringing everything I need to the job. Each box is a complete set up for that drill motor. In my ½" Magnum box there are drill indexes, set of auger bits, two large Milwaukee self feeding bits, index of screw driver bits, 8" extensions for the augers and self feeding bits, set of counter sink bits and a right angle head attachment with install tools. deluxe router case
I was very happy with everything about my new Bosch 1617EVS router except the fact that it didn't come with a case. (My workshop doubles as my garage, so everything has to get put away every so often, so my wife can park her car in the "garage.") Originally, I wasn't happy about having to pay extra for this case, but when the item arrived, I got over the initial sticker shock.

The case is very solidly built and wide enough that it won't tip over if you hit it with something. (That's a problem with a lot of the other plastic tool cases I have.) Inside, it has space for the router as well as collet wrenches and a number of 1/2" and 1/4" bits.

Interestingly, the case holds the router upside down -- but since that's how my routers spend most of their time when they're not in the cases, I guess they're used to it.

If you have a 1617 or 1618 router and need to transport it or just want to keep it out of harm's way, you can't do better than this attractive, sturdy, and functional case.

Seems silly to write a review on a box, but this is such a cool one, I have to. An afterthought purchase to make the amount of the order go over [price], it turned out to be the next best thing to the router that it fits, plus it holds about a gazillion router bits and all the odds and ends for the machine. Multipurpose!
I bought 2 of the bucket boss organizers for Father's Day gifts. I was very pleased with the quality of the material and space in the pockets: the only problem was the description of the item does not tell you that the 5 gallon bucket is not included....but the gifts were a big hit.....my Father uses it for plumbing tools and Father-in-law uses it on his boat for crabbing/fishing essentials!

One of those "I wish I had thought of that"
I own an aquarium maintenance company and this thing works like a champ.

I can carry all my nets, scrubbers, air tubing, filter sponges, flourescent light starters, etc... in the bucket and still put a little water in the bottom to transport the fish!

Not your typical usage, I admit, but the item is well made and functional for just about any use.

What took me so long?!
