5-0 out of 5 stars High Quality Generator.
This Dewalt generator is ,without question, one of the nicest on the market. It's level of design, preformance and finish is the best available today. I have used many generators, from various manufactures and I would say that this Dewant unit compares with the super-duty,heavy construction, units I've used. You can't go wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Little Generator I Have Seen (In a class of its own)
As always, DeWalt exceeded my expectations. This gem arrived in perfect condition. Once I had completed assembly and added oil and fuel, I gave a very light tug on the rope to get a feel for how much resistance it would offer. It started! Have only had it a few weeks, but it works just as advertised. The automatic idle is a very nice feature which really keeps noise down when there is no load. Note - be sure to follow instructions, since the generator is shipped without oil. If you like to jump ahead, do not put in fuel or oil before assembling wheels and lifting hook. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

As any gardener knows, even the best-laid plans for spending a day with the soil can be ruined by the necessity for repeated trips to the house or shed for the proper equipment. With the Step 2 Garden Hopper, however, it's possible to pack everything you need for a full day's gardening and take it all wherever you go. The Garden Hopper features an extremely sturdy seat that's just high enough to offer a comfortable perch yet low enough to keep you close to your garden. While a molded carrying handle is included within the seat itself, the Hopper's 7-inch wheels make it simple to scoot about without rising. With its sturdy double-wall construction, the Garden Hopper is strong enough to take a lot of rugged treatment. Beneath the seat is a large storage space, perfect for holding your gloves, tools, seeds, cellular phone, and other accessories you may need. In addition, this handy garden helper includes a built-in holder for a 12-ounce beverage, eliminating the need to run back into the house for refreshment. The Garden Hopper measures about 14 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide, and about 22 inches long. --Benjamin Reese ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Small storage area for tools, seat and cupholder are great.
This is a sturdy cute little addition to my gardening tool collection. The seat is perfect for clipping grass around flower beds. The cup holder is a wonderful idea, now I finish my margaritas not the roses. A warning though, the storage area under the seat is very small. Even a small hand weeder will stick out.

3-0 out of 5 stars Some good features BUT
This thing is amazingly lightweight, yet incredibly strong. For us old geezers, it's built a bit low to the ground and doesn't move well over grass or dirt when you're sitting on it (if your garden is cement ... never mind).
My two major comments are that my five year old loves the thing to ride around on. He also loves it because, despite the lid being closed, if you leave it out in the rain or snow, it fills with water. thus imitating those little naked cherubs in the fountains when he rides the front wheels over the edge of the sidewalk. Tinkle like a race horse, indeed! But, very funny in a juvenile sense of humor.
So, if you place things inside the Garden Hopper, they will get wet and rusted if metal and ruined if leather (like garden gloves, say). Several items made by Step 2 for kids have better waterproof lids. Just watch at bath time. Wrong engineering for the wrong products, maybe?
I'd look around for better designed products or "always store your stuff out of the rain" as my dad would say.

4-0 out of 5 stars Portable, Yet Solid
All you have to do is pick this thing up to know that it's hollow plastic parts. And all you need to do is sit on it once to know that this is one solid little stool.

The manufacturer's catalog that came in the box shows that their other products are children's toys that are built for punishment, yet no so dangerous that they'd crush a child. They've carried that same quality construction through to this little stool.

The wheels are a little on the small side to carry my 230-lb body across a patch of healthy lawn with ease, but it wasn't so difficult that I would have to stand up and move it, either.

I find it a tad inconvienent to reach under the seat to get to tools. There is a cup holder on the outside, but it's design is such that it isn't good for anything but cups or cans. The one thing I'd like to see here is some other sort of outside storage for tools instead of the cup holder.

The all-weather plastic means you can leave it outside, but it's lightweight design means you can store it on an upper shelf, too.

All in all, the solid, but lightweight construction makes this one a keeper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Garden Helper!
I must admit that this was somewhat an impulse purchase, it appeared in my Gold Box and I bought it. It is a great help around the garden. I find that it works best on the sidewalk beside the garden. If I try to sit on it and scoot around the garden, it tends to get stuck. It also works well as a small, mobile table when planting items into my garden. The handy storage area under the seat is a great place to keep garden tools, however it does not provide for drainage, so gloves, metal implements proably should not be stored there.

4-0 out of 5 stars No more sore back.
This was a gift for the person who does the gardening here. Days spent in flowerbeds were always followed by nights spent in painful spasm. This handy little rolling seat gets you to the right height to work in the garden without having to bend and stoop all day. It rolls easily enough and includes a beverage holder for your water bottle and space enough for several gardening tools. It's been sturdy enough so far and looks like it will last a while. Who knew one of the best gifts would be as simple as a nice place to sit down? ... Read more

Hang on to Toto when you fire this baby up--the air blast out ofthis blower is phenomenal! The literature says it produces up to a 215mph current, and they're not kidding. It converts in a few seconds to avacuum by removing the inlet tube and cover; just hook the front of thevacuum tube on and snap. Attach the generous bag and you're ready topick up the mountain of leaves you've blown. As it vacuums, the fanimpeller will mulch the leaves down, too, reducing 10 bags to 1. Welike the ergonomic handle and the comfortable strap. The tubes aresturdy and won't crack if you accidentally whack them. It's a lightunit at 7.3 pounds, and it's not nearly as loud as most, though at 69decibels, you'll still want to wear ear protection. Bravo, Toro!--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great for the price
I have been using this blower vac for a few months now and am really shocked by how well it works. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the blower changes very easily into a vacuum and vice versa. I use it to blow leaves into a pile then suck them up to use on my garden as mulch, bye bye leaves and bye bye weeds in my garden. The job of raking and sweeping leaves that used to take me hours, now only takes minutes. I can blow down my patio, suck up all the leaves and have the place looking great ten minutes before guests arrive. If you are like me and have a great backyard that you entertain in then pick this baby up and cut your work time by 50%!

Get yourself a long extension cord with this purchase also. The noise and pollution of this blower/vac is virtually non existent. I was shocked by how low the noise level was. I use the low setting for around other garden plants and when i really need the power switch it to high. Like another reviewer i had a small delay in shipping but it was worth the wait!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value for a very useful tool in a small yard
I wish I'd bought this Toro several months ago. We have a small yard in San Diego. Our next door neighbor has a huge ficus tree that sheds a lot of leaves in our yard. We already have 20 or so bags of debris stacked on the side of the house. I tried this blower out for the first time yesterday. In low power mode, it was able to push the leaves out of a cedar-chipped area without distuburbing the cedar chips too much. It's noisy, but not so noisy that you need ear protection. The vacuum mulcher seems to work well so far. Low power suction doesn't pull in too much, but high power works well. For a really large amount of leaves, it would probably be easier to rake, but for our small California yard it's perfect. I was concerned about the plastic impeller being able to handle all pea-sized seeds among the leaves, but so far so good. I'm not sure if the compression is really 10-to-1, but it definitely makes a difference. I haven't tried it with wet leaves, but in San Diego the leaves aren't wet very often so that's not a concern. The unit was easy to set up out of the box, and easy to switch back and forth between modes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value. Awesome blower
THe blower is awesome, and not terribly loud.

The vac isnt good for vacuuming your van's carpet, but for clearing grass clippings off of your driveway, it is beautiful.

For the price this simply cannot be beaten.

4-0 out of 5 stars Impeller info # 100-9068
Hey, all you whiny people who say they've looked all over heck and back for a new impeller. It's identified on the Toro site as # 100-9068 and my local hardware store charged $7 plus shipping, so I bought two. Yes, they do break easily, but I don't think I'll try sucking any more rocks...

5-0 out of 5 stars The best blower in the market!!!
I love it because its 1) Easy to start 2) has superb power 3) runs smoothly...I am on the fairly small side and find its perfect for me over those big ol' gas blowers I simply can't handle much less start up. My husband loves it because, even though he is a big guy, it makes small work out of our large orchard of walnut leaves!!!! In fact, watching him go into the garage, I find he picks up that little blower of mine with all the power over his big monster gas blower...when asked, he declares, its simple...more air and less work!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This heater is excellent and the perfect fit, for a certain set of requirements.

If you have electricity, use an electric heater. Don't bother with the hassel of propane. The cost isn't too different and the hassel factor is much higher than electricity.

I also don't recommend using the small canisters. That's an inconvinient way to go as well.

BUT. If you don't have power and need a cheap, safe heat source that you can run while you sleep, this is the best one made. Buy the 12' hose, place a 20lb propane tank outside, and run this heater all night with just a small crack in a window or door (just in case!). You will get > 100 hours of heat out of a tank of propane! Less than a buck to run it all night.

Highly recommended under the right circumstances.

5-0 out of 5 stars Carbon monoxide and propane
I don't (yet) have this heater but it is on my wish list.

I'm posting this merely to point out the inaccuracies and potentially DANGEROUS information in the poster who states that propane does not produce CO (Carbon Monoxide). Visit this site and you'll get plenty of information about this: http://www.carbonmonoxidedeaths.com .

Like all fuels, propane gas requires oxygen to burn completely. Appliance malfunctions, vent system blockage and improper installation will reduce the oxygen supply. When this happens, the fuel will not burn properly, releasing CO into the room, and long term exposure can lead to CO poisoning.

A bigger problem here is that in an enclosed area, the propane heater can consume oxygen. In an oxygen-starved room, the propane will continue to burn, and WILL produce carbon monoxide. This manufacturer was smart enough to include an oxygen sensor to avoid this dangerous situation. In fact, this manufacturer is a FOUNDING MEMBER of a Coalition for Portable Radiant Heater Safety. You will find very few portable heaters that are rated for indoor use today. This is one of them and you should be able to use this safely.

2-0 out of 5 stars you people are missing the boat on safety!
the main byproducts of propane combustion are carbon DIoxide and water...not carbon MONoxide. You will expire long before your carbon monoxide detector sounds. It's not what this unit produces, it's what it consumes...oxygen. a little ventilation is all that's required to safely operate this unit, and reduce condensation.
Personally I would never use a radiant heater while sleeping, especially in a tent! Radiant heaters heat THINGS, not AIR,if one of those things being exposed to this radiant energy is highly flammable you'll have a serious problem. I have personal knowledge of a radiant heater (albeit a larger AC model) igniting a stack of paper over 3ft away!
a safer, lower cost alternative might be a catalytic heater like the coleman procat... though it has a much lower btu output, it's heating air...not emitting radiant energy. In a large workshop...radiant...in a tent or the like...catalytic.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money
I purchased this heater and it was a problem from day one. Out of about one hundred attempts to light, it has only worked three times! The pilot light ignites without problem, but it refuses to work beyond this point. Two out of the three times it worked, it went out when I tried to turn the control from high to low. I have since purchased three butane heaters that work flawlessly. I would not recommend this unit.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can not handle wind or breeze
I bought this with the hope of using it at our kids outdoor sporting events, but, when ever there was a breeze, the heater would shut off. This heater is a perfect size instead of carrying a large propane tank heater, but could not stand up to the elements. Works great with no wind. If they could just make it wind proof, it would be perfect. ... Read more

The wide 21-inch diameter funnel swallows leaves as fast as you can feed them, mincing them down to fine mulch. This little unit is surprisingly powerful, and at only 17 pounds it’s so light you can mount it atop a trash can or bungee-cord a plastic bag to the outfeed and collect the waste. Out of the box, it goes together literally in minutes with just a screwdriver. The hopper tilts to 45 degrees to make loading easier, and the sliding control lever is easy to read, with settings for grass, thatch, wet leaves, dry leaves and pine needles. Double cutting lines are powered by an 8-amp motor on regular household current, and the motor intake filter comes out easily for cleaning. A built-in storage compartment keeps extra line at the ready, and changing cutter lines is easy. It’s a great unit for the homeowner, reducing 11 bags of leaves to just one bag of mulch, ready for use in flower beds and vegetable gardens.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

  • Special tilt adjustment varies angle for easy loading and compact storage. Powerful 8.0 amp electric motor. Heavy duty double cutting line included.
  • Coarse to fine adjustment settings with special positions for grass clippings, thatch and pine needles.
  • Reduces 11 bags of leaves down to only 1 bag.
  • Extra large 21" diameter funnel; inner lip prevents debris from escaping.
  • Constructed of steel and rugged high-density polyethylene for long life and easy maintenance.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE FLOWTRON LE-900 IS A GREAT LEAF MULCHER!!
I purchased the Flowtron LE-900 before I read Methodairman's review (see below) and fully expected I would be disappointed with it after it arrived. What a surprise when I immediately put it to work mulching more than 60 large bags of oak leaves and it performed flawlessly! Yes I had to change the trimmer lines after about 10 very large bags but the unit came with plenty of extra lines which were very quick and easy to change. For leaves smaller and softer than oak and for a less fine cut setting I'm sure the line change interval could be stretched to 15-20 bags. Bottom line: If you want to mulch leaves quickly and easily this is the mulcher for you!

2-0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Mulcher ???? Not quite Dear Flowtron
We have had three Flowtron mulchers in the past. All have just about lasted 1-2 years.. They were essentially the LE-800. When we saw the Ultimate Mulcher, the LE-900, we thought "let's go this route again.. " It completely stopped after only three bags of DRY leaves that were picked up with a lawn mower (that is, pretty small pieces). By hunting through the manual, I noticed a Circuit Breaker was mentioned. Inconveniently located underneath the unit which was on a barrel and full of leaves...Great design !!! After a cool down period, I pressed it and the unit started... So the improvement is that it now blows it's own circuit breaker rather than the one in the house which was the previous problem we had!!!!!

I would NOT recommend this unit but it is the only electric powered one available so unless you want to play the gas engine plus metal blade game, you are stuck... You would think on a unit that lists for 150 dollares, they could spend an extra few dollars and put a decent motor on it.

Post Script.... I upgraded to 2 stars because I discovered that the unit had been incorrectly assembled as received from Amazon. This allowed leaf mulchings to be sucked into the motor cloggng air flow and hence causing the circuit breaker to Blow. ...

4-0 out of 5 stars Fine for the Price
I also expected to be disappointed, but with a little TLC this mulcher works just fine. I did not want a giant mulcher to store and this is the only alternative. You have to understand it is basically a string trimmer used to cut up leaves. The strings do break if large sticks get in, but are easy to replace and available at any hardware store. Many twigs will fall right through without damage. You can't dump piles of packed leaves in, just put in moderate amounts of loose leaves slowly and it will handle them. The motor seems strong. It did stop running when I first started with too many leaves and I thought I'd be sending it back, but a customer service rep told me where the reset button is hidden ('duh' I could have read the manual). At this new low price it's a real bargain.

2-0 out of 5 stars For a One Season Solution
I bought this leaf shredder in 2003 Spring and used it for about 10 or 15 bags of leaves. It works pretty well, but is difficult
to set up, the stand works loose with just a little use and has to be continually tightened. Parts are difficult to reorder.
You have to send a check, the manufacturer does not accept any
credit cards so it sometimes takes 2 weeks to get trimmer line and parts that break. I have already had to replace the spool which holds the cutter line. I have not been able to find any dealer who carries the parts online.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wait for a mulcher with metal blades.
I bought this machine, or its clone, at Sears a few years ago. It didn't last one season. In fact, the first time I used it a part came loose and was lost, and it took a couple of weeks for it to be shipped. It's hard to rake leaves without picking up some small twigs, and small twigs cause this machine to hangup. Someone needs to design a machine just like this, but with metal blades. Many of us don't need the larger chipper/shredders that are the only alternative. ... Read more

We can't think of anything we'd want to add to this little hummer. It's incredible what B&D has engineered into this system (we don't think it's fair to call it a "screwdriver"). The 5-foot tape measure fits on board, or you can remove it for separate use. Dual speed range lets you drill holes at high speed and drive screws at the slower speed. A 23-position clutch, just like what's on the big boys, will keep you from stripping your screws. But get this: Unlike conventional cordless screwdrivers and regular power drills, this tool's handle easily locks in three positions for tight areas and awkward spots. Genius! And just like the "real" drills, this one's got an accessible forward/reverse rocker switch for backing screws out, too. Here's something, though, that the big-boy drill makers should pick up: It's got on integrated light so you can always see your work surface clearly. For the money, we haven't seen anything like it. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

  • 3-position pivoting action for maximum flexibility and versatility in tight areas

5-0 out of 5 stars Keyless Chuck
I love the rechargeable aspect of the tool. It's so light and easy to work with. The only thing missing is a keyless chuck so steel grinders can be used with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feature Packed for Under $30!!!
This is the best *cheap* cordless screwdriver I have ever used. The ergonomics of this driver feels good in the hand. Plenty of power and charge in the 6V battery. The clutch eliminates the problem of overtightening and the drill speed is great for quick pilot holes. The two bit holders and LED light really add to the convenience. I haven't used the tape, which is pretty cheesy, but I imagine it could come in hand for a quick measurement. The only have two complaints, but for less than $30 they really don't matter... 1) Should have a LED to indicate that it is charging, 2) Wish the battery was replacable. For the money, this is an indispensible gadget.

5-0 out of 5 stars Strong screwdriver
I have been very pleased with this screwdriver ~ it is strong. I have two along with three of the 3.6 volt B&D drivers and use the 6 volt for larger, more demanding jobs (i.e. book shelf projects, etc.). It is handy because it can be set in several different positions. It is good looking (I like macho looking tools) and it is very handy. Mine all hold good, long charges but then I am used to handling Nicad batteries because I build and fly a lot of radio control planes and you have got to know how to keep your batteries healthy or your plane becomes a "kit" again. I have just ordered a third 6 volt. I also collect tools and believe that you never have enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little screwdriver
Purchased this as a Christmas present for my wife and have been installing blinds ever since. While it's not intended to take the place of an 18 volt drill, it does a great job screwing and unscrewing. The forward, reverse rocker switch is more convient than others that we have used and the angles are handy. I would not recommend it as a replacement for the DeWalt heavy duty cordless screwdriver (my favorite), but it's lighter and 1/3 the price. Well worth the money....

4-0 out of 5 stars Great All Around Screwdriver
It does everything as advertised.

Pros: different torque settings, 2 drive speeds, small LED light, pivot point, overall "feel".

Cons: drilling is only for light duty jobs (otherwise get a real drill), charging time takes too long. connection for the charger plug is right in the pivot point and it doesn't let you use it while plugged in.

Other than the charging issues(that's why I won't give it 5 stars) but it's a great tool at a decent price. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Bosch invented the jig saw, and, with its top-handle models, it's getting close to perfecting it. The 1587AVSK has a nicely shaped handle, tapered where other saws are not, and a nice rubber grip that lets users (of all hand sizes) steer the tool firmly in hand. (Some toolmakers ignore ergonomics, but not Bosch--and we appreciate it.) The safety mechanism works well with the trigger, and the cut is super smooth. We like the variable-speed dial, the light weight, and the foot plate's plastic cover, which ensures that surfaces won't get scratched as they can by saws with metal plates. The blade-change system--if a little tricky at first--works great. No question about it, this jig saw keeps up Bosch's reputation as one of the prime movers in the power tool industry. --Michael Shilling ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST. PERIOD.
Just how good is this machine? So good that when Dewalt created their new top-of-the-line jig saw they copied the Bosch nut for nut, bolt for bolt.

Bosch invented the jig saw so they have some experience at getting it right. But the main thing to consider is what is important when buying one.

The Bosch 1587 has several features that make it the top dog.

First, it has heft. This heavy, well-balanced tool rides smoothly on surfaces and combined with an efficient counter-balance mechanism provides smooth cuts and a minimum of vibration. The top handle design further adds to the feeling of lightness and ease of operation despite the tools weight and power.

Secondly, it has different blade stroke patterns in orbital and in-line configurations and a chip blower that can be turned off and on. This, combined with variable speeds, provide for a saw that will take on any challenge.

Another feature that will spoil you in a hurry is the tool-less blade change. There is nothing more frustrating than trying hold a blade and fidling with a screwdriver! With the Bosch, just stick the blade in, turn the top cap three times untill it clicks and you're done. Hint: I leave the cap in the unscrewed position after use. That way when I'm ready to use it again it's near-instantaneous to get going.

This is a professional tool. It's the one I use in my finish carpentry business and it's the one my constituants use in their work. To spend more on a jig saw would be a waste of money. To spend less would be a larger one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smooth, Quiet and Strong!
The Bosch 1587 Jigsaw is very powerful, though other saws may boast slightly higher AMP ratings the Bosch may still have more usable power due to the efficiency of it's motor. The saw is smooth, quiet and most importantly absent of the vibration that has often beleaguered my attempts at fine work. Most other saws are plagued by this vibration and that really makes it difficult to track a strait line or to carefully cut out a finely traced scroll. Not with the Bosch, it's as smooth as can be and a pleasure to use. You may find yourself looking for excuses to break it out!!

The controls are ergonomically well thought out and are also very smooth in operation. The trigger switch on the 1587 provides variable speed for slow starts and also provides a speed limiter dial which enables the user to set the maximum blade speed when the trigger is fully engaged. The Barrel Grip version (1584) though very comfortable for scrolling does not include a variable speed trigger. Rather it has a toggle switch with a speed dial. This makes slow starts rather awkward to achieve and is the main reason I chose the top handle 1587.

The tool-less blade change takes a few minutes to master but once mastered it is quick and provides a very positive hold on the blade. I will admit that the blade change feature on the Milwaukee (also a nice saw, the only other to consider)is even easier but we cant have everything. The saw uses T-Shank blades and the Bosch Progressor version of these blades are second to none; use them!!

The saw includes adjustable "orbital action", a feature that allows the blade to orbit in a back/forth and up/down motion simultaneously, allowing the user to make faster more aggressive cuts. Orbital action greatly reduces the cutting time and makes scrolling less labor some. The draw back is that the cut is slightly less fine. Again the amount of Orbital action is adjustable and it can be deactivated all together depending on the material to be cut or your particular preference.

With all this said I struggle to think for negatives, but there are a few petty ones. Here they are: The blower though offering three settings could be more powerful at slower speeds. The shoe angle adjustment is not tool-less but rather it requires the use of a hex wrench. This wrench is included and fitted to the power cord... No biggie

On my saw it seems that the blade tends to cut very slightly off on deep material. I have made completely sure that I place the blade in correctly but it doesn't help. However, this issue has never been a problem in any of the work that I have done to date and it could be just my particular saw.

Well there isn't really much more to say...This is a very fine jigsaw and probably the best one available; the Milwaukee being the only real competition that I have seen to date. So don't be afraid of this purchase. You will certainly not regret it!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Won't stand the test of time
I've had this jigsaw about a year now. Perhaps went through 20 blade changes. One would expect a thousand more before this tool goes to lala land, but that's not the case. The tool is now rendered useless because the mechanism for blade changes has gone caput. I am past warranty as far as bringing it back for replacement or refund. The other choice is repair which isn't worth the hassle from my perspective. In my opinion this tool will not stand the test of time. This is a twenty dollar tool if the blade mechanism is flawed. {{I suspect it is}}.

I don't want to disparage anyone from buying Bosch, just this particular model. The tool wants to do business - but for cripes sakes - It's gotta hold a blade to work. I am not a happy camper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Satisified
I bought the Bosch Jig Saw a few months ago and I have been nothing but satisified with the tool. It cuts thought anything with ease (including ash wood floors) and can be used for many applications. I use my tools constantly and buying the best has made all the difference. I would highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a jig saw.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cuts Plywood like butter
Every Bosch tool I buy seems like a substantial upgrade, and this jigsaw is no exception. I bought it a year ago to replace a cordless model (not Bosch), and what a difference! Cuts straight, fast, and blows the dust away so you can follow your mark easily. I mostly use it to cut plywood, but I cut two large oval-shaped blanks out of 2x mahogany right after I got it and no problem. I didn't even know I could cut an oval!

I just bought the ripping guide for $15 and now I can do a lot more....rip small pieces of trim from moldings, cut down larger boards with minimal set up time, etc. I'd say the guide is well worth the extra dough.

I see they have a newer model out, and I'm sure it's excellent, but I'm still so happy with this one that I can't see upgrading at this time.....but maybe next Christmas....

Definately a 5 star tool. Bosch has done it again. Shocker. ... Read more

Impressive power, quiet operation, and easy portability makethis little vac a real find at a decent price. Right from the bottomup, it's a winner. Five smooth casters won't let it tip; the click-onhose can be attached and detached easily with one hand; and the motorunit doesn't sit in any specific position, thereby eliminating all thatawkward fumbling it takes to seat it. Two sturdy clips hang onto themotor from the canister. The hose is a generous 10-1/2 feet long, andthat doesn't even count the two extension wands. It has 90 inches ofstatic water lift, and Fein lists the airflow at 116 cfm--darnedrespectable for a unit that's compact, incredibly quiet (at 63decibels), and comes loaded with accessories. It also has a 16-footpower cord, a nice plus. It's light and easily maneuvered at just under18 pounds, and--not that this is important in a vac--mighty stylishlooking, too. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars First impressions
I after performing some web research on canister type vacuums I purchased the Fein wet/dry vacuum due to the low price, features, and the customer review on amazon.

My initial impressions after one use:
-The Fein vacuum is very sturdy, lots of thick/heavy-duty plastic.
-It has a nice long hose and power cord.
-The attachments, hose, and dust filter are easy to take on and off.
-The manual/instructions are a little difficult to read with some vague pictures, but has multiple languages.
-The dust bag was a little difficult to put on, the instructions were unclear, and it was a hard to get my hands on the cardboard portion of the bag to push it all the way on.
-The optional wheels were very easy to install (recommend taking the top motor portion off and flipping the bottom half).
-The suction power is comparable to the vacuums you would find at do-it-yourself car washes. Would easily vacuum up coins/marbles/nails if needed.

Overall I think that the Fein wet/day vacuum is a great value beating most other canister vacuums in the same price range with functionality and suction power.

3-0 out of 5 stars Quieter...but....
I was definitely attracted to this vac for its quietness, and yes, it is quieter than my Sears wet/dry...but, the quietness comes at a noticeable reduction in suction power. With the reduced suction power, you also find yourself cleaning the filter more often. I really miss my onboard "tool" storage for the other cleaning accessories...the Fein while compact, lightweight and well balanced is not designed to hold its own accessories, which I think is a must for any tool. I think I have already misplaced an accessory or two...On the plus side it has an excellent quality hose (though the narrow diameter limits what you can pick up with the vac)the longer length hose is welcome but is difficult to store (maybe some velcro strips...)the unit is light and very well balanced, and yes, it is quieter than your average shop vac. I won't be getting rid of my old Craftsman any time soon.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Vacuum, but short on accessories
I've been using this vacuum for about two months now and am generally pleased with it. It's sufficiently powerful, very quiet, and seems generally to be well-built. It does not come with an upholstery brush or other fairly standard attachments, and because the hose size is a bit different from the standard shopvac, one cannot just go down to Home Depot and pick up attachments. Instead, it is necessary to purchase the rather expensive Fein attachment pack -- sort of a drag given the rather high price tag of the unit itself. Overall a good unit, but not perfect.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fein mini-turbo vac
I just unpacked my new Fein mini-turbo vac and plugged it in to play around with it! My first impression is that Fein has made another nice product that performs as advertised, as long as you don't think that the advertising info gives you the complete, straight story.

The vac has plenty of suction and is quieter than my 8 gal Shop-Vac. It's also more stable when you pull it around by the hose, cuz the hose is positively attached to the tank and the 5 casters make the thing just about untippable. The 10 foot hose and 16 foot heavy-duty cord are great. So far, so good, right!

Wrong, I think. They give you just about every tool you'd want except a brush attachment, which I use a lot on jobsite cleanup. Then, there's no provision for on-board storage of the attachments, a major oversight. Couldn't they supply some sort of simple mesh bag for this stuff that clips onto the unit?

The other major oversight is the filters: The main filter is supposed to be used in conjunction with a paper filter which must be discarded when it's full, sort of like a typical vacuum cleaner bag. Only trouble is, the paper filters cost about 9 bucks a piece, kind of spendy, I think. I intend to use this unit minus the paper bag filter and just clean the main filter when it gets dirty but they say not to wash it out with water or it will deteriorate faster.

Oh, really? Both Sears and Shop-Vac have filters that are washable in a stream of water; I've used some of these filters for a couple of years or more before replacing them.

Fein is a strange company. They make some very high quality tools but fall down on some of the details. They particularly don't quite understand how things are done in the USA, yet they are making a major effort to sell their stuff here. I haven't yet decided whether I'll keep this tool. I'll have to think about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Vacuum
I just used this vacuum for the 1st time cleaning my garage, and I must say that I like this vacuum very much.

It is unbelievably quiet, and yet very powerful and easy to handle. This machine is a little expensive but to me it is definitely a worthwhile purchase. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the best workmanship but the price is right
The quality of the wood and workmanship of this chest is a little better than the typical "made-in-China" quality. But the hardware is pretty low-grade. Having said that, what you do get is a pretty solid (it survived UPS unscathed) utility chest with velour-lined drawers that fit and slide nicely. It is now housing my woodworking measuring instruments. Recommended.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sisco MTV7 Solid Hardwood Utility Chest
I am disappointed with the quality of the product. The finish is poor quality. It is not uniform in color or application. The hardware is poor quality. The buyer must install the pull knobs, which is okay, but the screws were too long. I had to find and add some washers so they would tighten. The side handles do not match. One raises above horizontal, the other does not reach horizontal. A nail, intended for one of the drawer slide rails was inserted above the rail and was scoring the drawer.

Solid Hardwood must be the name used to define the laminated fiberboard. From the outside, it appears the chest is constructed from real wood. If you remove the drawers and look inside, you find that the drawer bottoms, the side panels, back panels and bottom are fiberboard.

The top compartment and the drawers are lined with something similar to felt. They hold the material in place by way of an adhesive. Wrinkles have formed due to improperly sized fabric.

Finally, when the top is closed the drawers are not secured. You must take extra care to prevent drawers and contents from dumping when moving the chest.

4-0 out of 5 stars value priced chest
purchased this chest for a fishing friend to store fly tying materials within and he is pretty pleased to have it. he said that it was something that he would take good care of but that was not an heirloom piece. I thought that description fit what I was needing just about right. thinking to order one for myself at this time so it must be good enough for the purpose intended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Chest for the price
I read all the reviews on this item and just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. I got mine last week. It was shipped with no problems. Everything was there, nothing was broken. They obviously got the oil problem taken care of because mine was just perfectly finished. It's not a Gershner box, but you didn't pay $500 for it either. It's a good place to put your "critical" tools so they don't get damaged. For $50 bucks, it's a good buy. I had no problems what so ever.

4-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe these negative reviews!!!
When I decided to purchase this chest, I had real reservations based on the negative reviews. Well, I got mine in the mail today and I LOVE IT! It's exactly what I expected. No, it's not solid oak with real brass and velvet...those chests cost hundreds of dollars, remember? But it's heavy, sturdy, NOT broken, bent, cracked, whatever else they said about it. It's real wood, and just perfect for my tools. I'm ordering the smaller model next. If you don't want to pay a lot and you want a great storage chest, this is your best buy! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Badly damaged once again.
I previously ordered two of these units and wrote a review. Both were badly damaged, but one was salvagable. The other I had to return, after it overheated and emitted a noxious odor. I decided to take a chance and order another unit this month (goal was to have total of two working units), hoping that whatever warehouse or shipping issues that resulted in previous damage had been resolved. They weren't. This unit also came with crushed top and wheels. Until the manufacturer comes up with a better way to ship these heavy beasts, not worth it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good all-in-one package
The Xpower 1500 is a good backup system as it has eveything you need in a convenient handtruck (the batteries are heavy).
Unfortunately the 61 Amphr batteries don't last that long. Adding a 100Ahr battery which you can easily be connected to the xPower make for a nice system which will get you thru a few days of blackout.

4-0 out of 5 stars I HAVE TWO OF THESE
I HAVE TWO XPOWER 1500 UNITS . THEY WORK AS ADVERTISED, EACH UNIT WILL RUN A REFRIGERATOR FOR OVER TWO HOURS DURING A POWER OUTAGE. THEY WILL START A SKILLSAW WHEN FULLY CHARGED.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD, ONE OF THE CHARGERS WILL NOT CUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED.
A QUALITY PRODUCT, BUT NEEDS TO HAVE MORE RESERVE (BATTERY AMPS) FOR LONGER SERVICE. GREAT IDEA.

1-0 out of 5 stars doesn't run
bought one for the boat, didn't run, wouldn't charge. Fluke?
exchanged for a new one. Followed directions still no charge after 24hours plugged into household power.
Not worth time or effort it would appear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Living Off The Power Grid - The True Test
Our ranch is outside of utility power service, and we rely upon a generator for our power. The Xantrex xPower 1500 was appealing to us for the purpose of running small electrical units, TV, VCR, lamp, computer, without having to start up and listen to a 10K generator. An added advantage is being able to take power where you need it on our acerage. The portable dolly design allows the power unit to go where you want the power, for power tools, weedeaters, etc.

The system works wonderfully for our purpose. Now we can enjoy a few quiet evening hours without having to forego light and entertainment. Plugged into a standard wall outlet, the x1500 battery easily charges up during the generator-run hours. We are very pleased.

We experienced one glitch, which turned out okay. The original unit we received had battery acid spilled inside of the box. Xantrex technical support was very clear that this was not right, and the unit could not be used and needed to be replaced. Their warranty department took care of everything, and delivered an entire new system within two weeks. It did take more than one call to get a solid answer on this solution, but it worked out satisfactorily. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
As a 10 year aircraft maintainer in the US Air Force, I've used everything from standard Mag-lites, scuba divers' lights, and even penlights in a pinch. I can say this flashlight is brighter than any other I've used. It cuts my inspection time in half because I can see things 55 feet off the ground just like it was right in front of me. Don't be fooled to think a rechargeable battery pack isn't as strong as standard alkaline batteries. This isn't the case. I wouldn't trade this flashlight for anything!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mag Lite is good for general purpose
Having read the other reviews, I decided to add one myself:

Many police departments standard issue Mag Lite products. The 2,3..etc D sized flashlights make reliable flashlights and their weight can also make them useful as a baton in a pinch. I have several different Mag Lights (the mini's, the 2, and a 5 D monster). They always work, the beam is generally good, and for the money, they are a good value. They are NOT the best flashlight ever made... but for 20-30-40 bucks, they are a great flashlight for about 99% of what people need flashlights for...

If you REALLY need alot of quick light - i.e., you are planning to rely on this light for a tactical or self-defense situation, then I wouldn't buy a Mag Lite... ASP, Surefire (my favorite), Inova, etc., make much better flashlights for that situation. A Surefire C2 or Z2 model is about the size of a Mini-Mag but delivers about 5 times the light of the largest Mag LIte product... all without a focusable beam. The technology of SureFire is unparallelled, in my opine, but I think it is akin to comparing a Ferarri to a Ford... yeah, they're both cars, but that's about as far as the comparison should go... Also, most high-performance flashlights run for about an hour or so... Mag's will run longer. Also, you can go to any HD or hardware store and buy mags, batteries, lamps, etc.... try doing that with a SureFire... NOT. So there are comparative advantages and disadvantages to both...

Mag's products are good... but you get what you pay for and not every flashlight is suitable for every application. If you are a LE officer, military, etc., it's unlikely you will want Mag Lite as the product you're going to trust your life to.... they just are not bright enough to stun someone in a life and death situation... If you want a decent reliable flashlight for home emergency use, then Mag LIte is the best product you can possibly buy.

...I own both for different reasons... I just wish I owned a Ford and a Ferarri too!

4-0 out of 5 stars Becoming a dinosaur
There is a lot going on within the technology of flashlights recently. LED, Lithium batteries, focus bezels, etc. The Mag Instrument RX1019 Heavy-Duty Rechargeable Flashlight System is an OK rechargeable flashlight. But the technology today (ie from SureFire and others) has Mag Lights falling behind a bit technologically. For example, weight and size. IF you are in law enforcement and need and depend on escalating use of force (ie loud assured voice, large heavy flashlight, side arm, shot gun), MOST other situations only criteria for a good flashlight is how much light it puts out and the quality (no dead spots, etc) of that light. AND in the smallest, lightest package. This is where (IN GENERAL) MagLite has dropped off.
I must say (before I get a bunch of negative votes) that I have owned 20 or 30 Mags over my working career. And the product is very durable and they are proven reliable. But for the money, I've found that Surefire offers a more powerful beam of light. Surefire is lighter too.
I've had to depend on my MagLight many times but I've switched to SureFire. It's the 21st Century.

5-0 out of 5 stars Light up your life!
This light is awesome! With 40,000 candlewatt power it will light up your entire room in your house when the power goes out-which we here in Raleigh have experienced a lot in the past few years. With 1000 recharges possible it pays for itself over and over. Can't go wrong with this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.......but..........
The flashlight is brilliant, literally. Once it's charged for the first time it's unreal. And for occasional or rare usage it is extremely practical. But, if you use it for several hours a day, you may find that it takes too long to get a full charge back into the battery. In fact, the only chance you can get it to fully charge is over the weekend. Two batteries? How can you charge the spare battery pack when it has to be in the flashlight (which has to be in the charger) to recharge? Mag Instruments are apparently working on the problem, but to this date they do not have a rapid charger, or a charging cradle for a battery pack only. You could of course buy 2 flashlights and use them on alternate days. Rather expensive though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing clamps!
As of writing, I have only had my Quik-Grip clamps a single day, but I already absolutely love them! They are easily set up with only one hand, which is really convenient when clamping down a homemade fence for a router table, or anthing else that reguires the other hand to hold your workpiece down.
This package of clamps is a very good deal too. Ratcheting hand clamps are usually very expensive (the price of the two largest clamps from a home center is about the same as this entire package!). The description says you get 2 2" smaller clamps as well. I got 4! I don't know if this an error, but I'm not complaining!
Ratchet clamps, although expensive, are totally amazing. They are especially handy for sanding and routing, where vibration can undo screws. This package is a great deal and I haven't ruled out buying another set. These things are total time savers.
(And, if you ever get really bored, you can race them! We actually used to do that in my shop class!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive!
Once you start using these Quick-Grip clamps you will think that all other clamps are obsolete. They supply all the power you can possibly need and are so much quicker on and off that repositioning them is a snap. They take a lot of the "stress" out of having to race to get your glue-up clamped. As soon as I finished using them the 1st time I ordered more. ... Read more

Produced by a leader in the garden tools market, Fiskars's bypass pruner is perfect for precise clean cutting of green growth. The pruner features Fiskars's trademarked PowerGear design, which maximizes leverage for more pruning power for your effort. As you clasp the pruner, the outside handle actually rotates with the gears, an ingenious design with impressive results. The replaceable ultrahardened steel blade is designed to stay sharp longer than leading blades, and the handles are made of reinforced nylon engineered for strength and lightness. Designed with comfort in mind, the tool fits perfectly in the hand. With its 3/4-inch cutting capacity, this is definitely a professional quality pruner, but even weekend gardeners can benefit from its fantastic design. Two-year warranty. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
We just bought our first house, and along with it a few trees, a lot of shrubs, and a couple dozen rosebushes, so I needed something good and easy-to-use. After sampling the options in the local hardware store, I decided these were the most comfortable, easiest to use, and seemingly best mechanism of the bunch. I've only been working with them for a month, but they're performing well so far.

The hold-closed latch is easy and well-placed (though it is easy to pop it unlatched if you stuff the clippers in your back pocket), the grip width is adjustable with a set screw (so small hands don't have to suffer), and the blade spread is admirable for a hand-held pruner (though adjusting the grip width does take a little off the blade spread too). The spring and other critical mechanical components are well shielded, so you won't be gumming them up with debris easily. It cuts through the rose pruning like butter and even gets through thick woody dead stuff with only a little effort. The rotating handle makes a huge difference in the comfort level, especially when cutting the the thick woody stuff.

They say buy the best you can afford, and these certainly seemed like the best option to me, and they weren't even that expensive. Certainly better to buy one pair of good pruners instead of three bad ones.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for small hands, light duty
Having read the reviews and being a gadget freak, I decided to get these. I figured the rotating lever would reduce the blister inducing rubbing my fingers experience when doing a lot of heavy pruning. And the power advantage would be a boon to my aging and no longer as strong hands.

Well, it does work as advertised; the finger abrasion is reduced and it requires less effort to cut a given branch with these compared to my trusty Felco pruners. BUT, two problems arose for me. First, due to the size of these pruners and the Powergear technology, the lever rotates my fingertips smack against my palm, and if I'm cutting a large branch with some serious squeezing, it does it hard enough to hurt! I do have fairly big hands, but I'm not Shaq. It is a serious annoyance for me. And second, it is not nearly as rugged as my Felco. It just isn't strong enough to cut larger woody branches that do fit between the blades and the Felco handles without strain. The cutting blade flexes and so the bypass cut doesn't happen and you have a partially cut branch with the pruners stuck in it.

I do like their precise feel for light to medium work, where I'm not squeezing hard enough to have either of the above problems. But I'd like to see Fiskars make a larger, heavier duty version of this technology. (I know they make a Powergear mini-lopper; I'd like to see a 20% bigger and heavier duty pruner)

Conclusion; if your hands aren't large and you don't intend to do heavy duty pruning, these are quite slick.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp, strong, and oh so comfortable!
When I read the description, I still couldn't imagine how the handle could "rotate." But when it arrived in the mail it was obvious. I hadn't thought of it but, when one squeezes such a tool, one's fingers roll over the handle. And on this pruner, the rounded handle rolls with the fingers. This clever idea not only makes it more comfortable to squeeze, but the gearing incorporated into the design also makes it easier on the muscles.

I gave the new pruner a tough initiation by trimming some low redwood branches, and even though a few were a tad larger than the rated 3/4" -the tool bit right through them all. The grip was so comfortable, it didn't even seem like work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Pruner
This is the best Pruner that I've used. They are very easy to use and feel really comfortable in you hands.

3-0 out of 5 stars does this for a living
blades gum up easily after repetitive use. Need to keep spraying lubricant to keep blades from gumming up. Corona Professional bypass pruners are a bit more resistant to gumming. Otherwise, an excellent pruner. Love the teflon coated blades because it doesnt rust and is easy to clean. ... Read more

Constructed of durable, rip-proof fabric, the new 56-pocket organizer from Bucket Boss improves on what was already a great idea. Unlike the toolboxes of old, the Bucket Boss organizer stores tools where they're visible and easy to access. And, with 38 exterior pockets and 18 more on the inside, the Bucket Boss really does have a place for just about everything. We've loaded ours down with wrenches, handsaws, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, pencils, utility knives, pliers, and drill bit sets. There's even a padded pocket for your cordless drill. We quickly discovered, however, that depending on how you load it, the Bucket Boss can get a little top-heavy. After ours tipped over in the back of our truck, we reloaded it with our hammerheads down, and it hasn't tipped since. We recommend the Bucket Boss 56 for remodelers, carpenters, electricians, repair people, or any other professional who brings a lot of hand tools to the job; it also makes the perfect tool kit for do-it-yourselfers moving through the house from room to room and project to project. --Jon Groebner ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I purchased this item for my husband and he couldn't have been more pleased. The deep pockets held all his tools securely with room to spare. He said it is the best tool organizer he ever had. Then he tossed his toolbox. :) I have since bought several of these for different male birthdays, all with the same results. Excellent!! Note: Bucket Boss is extremely sturdy. The canvas and seams are very well put together. You can load this up with no worries.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's not a top number in the Amazon Sales rank for nothing
At first I bought this as a novelty. Not realizing that it was to change the way I organize my workspace. Normally I rely on peg boards in my shop to house the usual screw drivers, hammer, and frequently used tools. The problem with that is that they don't usually get put away, unless I do a complete shop clean up. Which is why I have to go looking for them. My number one pet peeve is looking for stuff. Not only is is wasted time, but it interrupts my work flow. Now I use the Bucket Boss 56 Organizer to house all of my most frequently used tools, and I bring my tools to the work. I also went to Sears and bought an INEXPENSIVE red metal Utility Cart that has four substantial wheels in a shopping cart configuration (two fixed, two universal) and they all lock, with a tray shelf at the bottom, and one at the top. I put the Bucket Boss in the bottom tray, which only takes up part of the lower tray space. In it, is everything imaginable, and after using it for awhile, I know right where it is. The best way to get the work flow going, is to be able to grab what you need, when you need it, and it is there every time, and have a place to rest it, or immediately put it away. With this combination, I roll the tools over to the work area, and I have an upper shelf to set things on during the project. It wouldn't be possible without the bucket boss.
With mechanics tools, we use a multi-drawer tool box. Since everything is hidden, it takes some time to learn exactly where everything is. With the Bucket Boss, you have a reminder, everytime you glance at it.
My only complaint is that their are so many pockets I can't justify buying another one. :-) That's how much I like this thing.
Knowing that I can simply lift the bucket boss out of the bottom tray using the handle that comes with the bucket, and take it with me no matter where I go, gives me the mobility, and organizational system I use in the shop and on the go! One system, one set of tools, for all locations. The cart is so light, I wouldn't hesitate to take it along as well.
By the way the Bucket Boss does not come with the bucket, but considering the cost of a 5 gallon white plastic bucket at [the store], that is not a major item. I know it would probably cost more to ship the bucket than it would to buy one locally. So it makes sense.
For on the job, it makes a very good impression. It looks organized. Combine this with one of their parts organizers, and you will not only, not have to go looking for your tools, that washer, locknut, screw, bolt, or anything else you want, will be at your fingertips as well. No having to run back out to the truck everytime I need a bolt, or nut, or screw, etc.
I can tell you it is made out of great material that will last for a long long time, or that the pockets are multi-sized and shaped to fit near anything you may use, but what I really want to tell you is that this thing is engineered. Engineered to simplicity. That makes it one of the most frequently used pieces of equipment. It is great because it works. Not just because it is very inexpensive, for all of the utility, you will get out of it, but because it works, and works well. Get into the Boss and watch your productivity zoom!

5-0 out of 5 stars who gets custody if we divorce???
I love this tool organizer!!! I bought it for my husband for Christmas because I thought it looked cool. He didn't seem interested in it, so I took it and began using it for my own tools (we each keep our own set), and then he fell in love with it too! I was continually having to go find my tools because he had swiped them, bucket and all. So I went to Home Depot and bought him a bucket organizer they had in stock, different brand. A week later he's whining about how he likes mine better, so since I bought it for him in the first place, I switched with him and now he has the good one. I think I need to order a second one because he's right -- the other brand is not as good as this one. Damn good thing I love him so much, but if we split, I want custody!! This is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surreal!
It is simply mind boggling how useful and efficient this item turned out to be. It holds all but the longest handtools (2 foot plus levels, etc)with easy access. Of course, nothing is perfect, so here are my suggestions for future improvements: deeper bellows on a couple of the lower tier pockets and a shallow series of slots for mini screwdrivers (smaller screws seem to be the latest trend). This could be done by replacing the elastic strap at the upper edge with a looped belt of the same basic material as the Bucket Boss

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet product...
Hey, this IS a great product just like most ALL of the other reviewers have indicated and regarding the idiot "A home improvement enthusiast from Eugene, Oregon" and her "Where's the bucket?" remarks... Come on are you a total F---ing moron or what!? ... Read more

Since it tips the scales at just 66 pounds, it’s incredible that this little unit can output 2,800 watts. Not only that, but it’s a good deal quieter than other generators in its class. The inverter system with Pulse Width Modulation delivers such a stable voltage that you can run products with built-in microcomputers or microcomputer-controlled electric tools off this generator. A nice innovation is the "Economy Control" electrical governor: It matches engine speed to the electrical demand, so if you’re camping and just running a CD player, the engine downshifts to supply that much power, again reducing noise to about 60 decibels. Plug in something else, and power increases accordingly. Another nice feature is the Oil Watch warning system that shuts the unit down before the oil is low, and won't let you restart until oil is added. Because it’s light, compact, and quieter, this is the ideal generator to keep on hand at home for power outages and a smart buy for the job site, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The generator specs and looks are fine, but....
No where in Amazon's presentation of this item is the fact that you will need an "isolation switch," also called a "transfer switch" at some stores. This is a [$$] item that allows you to switch off the electric power line from your utility company while you are using the generator to feed power to your home. This protects utility workers from electrocution that could occur if you backfeed electricity into the power grid. It protects your home circuits and appliances from overload when the utility power comes back on. Neither Amazon nor Yamaha mentions the fact that the Yamaha generator requires a particular locking plug for the AC output, and does not provide the NEMA number that you have to match when buying the power cord taking power out of the Yamaha to your home's electrical supply input. Yamaha's manual is ridiculously inadequate about how to set up this device, though the details for maintenance and safety seem pretty thorough. But you have to be able to use it, and using it requires a frustrating process just to know what parts to buy. And then there's the cost of an electrician to install the isolation switch. No plug-'n-play here.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lightweight, heavyweight!
When I opened the box and saw this little generator, I thought I was in trouble. But this 2800 watt Yamaha is the new inverter model. Not sure what that means, but it is very light weight but really puts out the juice. We ran 2 screwguns, 2 - 500 watt quartz lights and our radio and this Yamaha barely ran above idle. It weighs half of what our old junker weighs, runs 4 to 5 times longer on a gallon of gas and purrs quiet as a kitten. We have been using this wonderful generator for over a year with no problems at all. It's Yamaha inverter generators for our crews from now on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Durable, Efficient, and Economical Power Generator!
When I started construction on a cabin in the woods of northern New hampshire, I wanted to be sure I had a reliable alternative source of eleectrical power both for the construction effort and for time later when the basic power would be unavailable, as in an ice storm or other power outage. I was pleased to find this state of the art model from Yamaha because it had both an enthralling list of desireable features and was within the budgetary figure I had in mind for the generator.

That said, I have been thrilled with just how powerful, durable, reliable and economical it has been both to own and to use. Yamaha truly has created a super quiet, small, and light generator, the best of its kind. it is a 2800 watt generator that emplys inverter technology. It's well suited for equipment requiring a stable frequency and voltage. Voltage output stability very "clean", so it can power microcomputers or sophisticated electronics, a feature we appreciate as we can use it evenings to power a laptop. When power demand power is low, the generator runs at a low engine speed, then, as power demand increases, engine speed increases in a corresponding power curve. This Yahama inverter system meets my needs superbly, and I can highly recommend it. Enjoy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars works great cleaning pool deck
I had some doubts about buying this based on how it looks - but it is terrific. It used to take us about an hour to clean our relatively large pool deck of concrete pavers with a push broom - it now takes about 15 minutes with this tool and it does a better job. Well worth the purchase price

5-0 out of 5 stars Works on all kinds of textured surfaces
This thing is great, I'm so shocked that something so clever actually lives up to its description. I have several different huge areas around my house, a driveway the size of a basketball court (smooth surface)--worked great, a verandah with a small pebble surface--could never get it clean with those industrial brooms--spinsweep picked up sooo much grit and dirt I didn't even know was there-then finally as I live in Seattle, we have a textured coating on our decks for non-slip surface, great idea but a pain to keep swept, spinsweeper saved the day again. Also it's light weight! Helpful reminder: Make sure you follow directions and keep it stored with the undercarriage brushes upright so you don't wear them down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great by our pool! We have pavers...
Our patio is made up of pavers and I was not sure how this would work, but IT WORKS GREAT!! It picks up fine sand and rocks. My 2 year old even likes to push it around. It is easy to put together and easy to clean out. Much easier than sweeping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome as always thanks Hoover
just recieved mine today...what an incredible machine. Even sucks up dead frogs!!! (have two cats) In 20 minutes I de-dirted my driveway, three large sidewalks, a carport floor, and a garage. Works just like the street sweepers without the noise. I highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
This little sweeper is the best thing since sliced bread! I ordered one after seeing it mentioned in the gardening section of the paper, but was skeptical that it would really work as advertised. I have a large stable with a very wide concrete aisle that must be swept daily, so it gets some serious use. It works soooo good! The brushes pick up debris and dust and even the dead lizards the barn cats bring in. It is easy to push and easy to empty the container, so that you can dispose of the material where you want, without having to use the dustpan. It has cut my sweeping time down by 75% and does a better job than a broom.
My friends that have tried it have all loved it, and are going to order one too. Hoover needs to market this thing to horse owners!
I have also used it on my garage and patio with the same great results. ... Read more
