Amazon.com Review

Brink's brand-name security comes in a small package that fits just about anywhere--it needs only 5 inches of clearance. It's made of steel and comes with a quick-open digital lock that you set to your own three- to eight-digit numeric code. Two keys are also included. Users can bolt the safe into studs from the inside, so it's virtually theft-proof (thieves would have to take out your wall as well, and few have time for that!). It has a nice safety feature, too. If the wrong code is entered once, the digital system locks out for 20 seconds. A second error locks it up for five minutes, and a third blunder will shut the system down for an hour. At home, we can imagine stock certificates, cash, jewels, and even a handgun locked inside. At the office, cash and checks, documents, and valuables will all fit easily. It's a good buy for the money--and the peace of mind. --KrisJensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I need a manual
Hi I lost my manual and would like to see if anyone can help me by telling me how to reset the passcode

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality
This safe is just what the ad says-it is a safe. It is meant to be secure and it is. Documents that are important should be in this safe. I feel it would be better used lying down just because that way nothing will fall out at you when you open it up. It is very heavy duty and the ability to set your own code should make it easy to remember.

2-0 out of 5 stars FORGET wall mounting it
I was looking for a small, digital-combo safe like this to mount onto (or into) a wall, and the Amazon review implies that the 5074 is mountable "to studs". The Gold Box price was too good to pass up, so I bought it.

The Good: It works. The paint finish is nice.

The Bad: It's definitely for mounting FLAT, as in a drawer. If you want wall- or shelf mounting, you'd naturally want the hinge at the top, so the keypad reads right. BUT, the hinges won't hold the door open that way, and the inside shelf would run vertically instead of horizontally! Your only choice is to mount it sideways, which means the keypad is sideways, too. Not the most ergonomic arrangement, especially if you need to open it in a hurry.

Besides that, the batteries were already dead on arrival, and the bolt handle squeaked and grated.

I returned it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Quick Handgun Storage
I'm surprised it's in as good of shape as it was when it arrived. The box was totally beat to death and I dreaded sending it back because of it's weight. But, it was relatively unscathed. It's a great little investment, except for the hinges. You'd think they would have something more durable, than those flimsy little hinges held together by a rivet. One of the hinges is impossibly loose and impossible to repair. We mounted it on the wall and so far so good. I got it on a gold box sale so with the free shipping it was worth the price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for storing your handguns
I've been looking for something large enough to store my handguns. My previous method was just a gun lock and I don't trust them. This one came up on sale here and I jumped on it. It shows an ability to mount vertical or horizontal. If you mount the safe standing up, everything sits in the bottom and I don't believe you could put more than just a few heavy items. Lying flat it is the perfect gun locker. The electronic lock works great. The quality is very high. If you've got kids and firearms, get one of these. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't complain.Great for realtors.Quick measuring rooms.
I am a realtor and I have to say this is a great tool.I use this to measure room sizes and it make fast work of the details. It also figures out sq ft. so it makes it a breeze to do listings.

1-0 out of 5 stars Strait-line Sonic Laser Tape 50
Besides being an amatuer woodworker, I also have been fixing
up our 100 yr old house.
I own several convential tape measures. Out of curiousity, I decided to buy the Strait-line Sonic Laser tape 50, wondering
if I could simplify my various measurement needs of my projects.
My biggest complaint is that this device does not provide
accuracy of less than an inch. My second complaint is that the
advertising for it does not clearly disclose this fact.
Due to this lack of accuracy, I can't find any real use of
this device in anything I do. From my perspective, a waste of roughly $30.00
on a piece of garbage.
Hopefully there are other laser measure tapes on the market
that are more accurate....for now I will stick to my old fashioned method.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thanks, Plastair!! This Hose is LIGHTweight and Efficient!
I bought this hose when it first hit the market and am extremely pleased with it. Performance is great and the water pressure is fine, but the best features of this hose are that it's very lightweight and it stores so easily. I live on a 1/4 acre lot FULL of flowers, veggies and trees, and dragging those heavy, cumbersome hoses around can be exhausting. This hose is SO much lighter - fills the bill for women, seniors and anyone who wants to conserve their energy for more important things (like pulling weeds!)

Storage? No problem. Hammer a stake or a PVC pipe in the ground a short distance from your water outlet and slide the coiled hose over the stake - easy and convenient!

Problems or questions? The folks at Plastair are absolutely great - they stand by their warranty 100% and are wonderful to deal with. I highly recommend this product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for a Secondary Hose
Don't use this hose as your only yard hose that you plan on hauling half around the house, hooking sprinklers up to, or other "regular" hose use. It simply doesn't work too well for that type of stuff.

However, I am using this hose in the front of my house to water a particular tree and some shrubs that aren't worth hauling the big heavy green house around the house to water them.

This hose is real light, stylish, and takes up very little space. It is not the eye sore like the big green hoses. I have even gotten compliments on it from the neighbors. I have noticed that people who use Macintosh computers tend to like the hose the most. What is it with the translucent colors and Mac users anyway? :)

It did everything I wanted and more!

4-0 out of 5 stars good but not perfect
pros: good looking, light, flexible
cons: does not recoil all the way. the attachments need to be reinforced.

4-0 out of 5 stars Inside Scoop from a Salesman
I have sold hoses similar to this at home shows before, and here are some of the distinctions which aren't obvious at first glance.

It is exceptionally strong material, and it does hold it's recoil ability.

The measured length is at maximum stretch. Because of the recoil ability it takes a little muscle to get there.

When it's full of water, the weight effects the recoil ability.

The transparent quality of the hose actually lets light inside and can allow the growth of algae.

It is a very clean material and is suitable for drinking water.

It has a higher PSI rating than most hoses which means it's good under pressure.

A few of them together make a decent solar water-heater.

The material is polyurethane. There are good polyurethane adhesives which will seal punctures you might get in the hose.

One of the other reviews stated that the water pressure wasn't sufficient. There are larger diameter versions of this type of hose available.

Hope that helps,

Frank Boyd

3-0 out of 5 stars Springhose is not as great as I thought
I bought the springhose for covienient hose cleanup and for watering my plants. I was a little disappointed in it. When I began to use the hose with my garden nozzle, the water flow was very weak, even with the hose turned to max flow, and the water flow out the nozzle was slow and felt as if it had gaps of air in it. It also often gets caught on corners. It does spring into a small pile, with some of your own effort, and does save time from hose reeling. If you don't mind giving up full pressure in the hose for the spring feature, then it will make you happy. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

We think they call it "Legend" for good reason: You'd be hardpressed to pack this many tools into the space that the Gerber Legendtakes up. Inside this impressive little package, you'll have access tono fewer than 12 tools, including tungsten carbide-steel blades. Allthe hardware is stainless steel, mounted on a nickel-coated die-castaluminum handle set that feels like it was made for your hand. Thezirconium nitride hard wire cutter insert has three edges, and it'sreplaceable, so you'll never be without a laser-sharp edge. The Legendincludes the wire cutter, a combination edge and serrated drop-pointknife blade, scissors, can opener, hack saw, Phillips, small, medium, and large screwdrivers. Each stainless-steel component snaps into placewith a solid locking system. We think it's the perfect pocket tool.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The Multi-tool Nightmare!
This multi-tool in my opinion needs re-designed. The pliers do not open wide enough to use on objects bigger than an inch and no can opener for those who go fishing, hunting or camping. You can't even get replaceable Rem-Grit blades.(even from the Gerber Co.) It does have great wire cutters & scissors though!
Two stars is the best I feel to rate it. No wonder I stuck it in a drawer and wear a different brand! After all, a multi-tool that works on small objects of less than an inch when needed can be a nightmare! It is your choice & your money. Just try loosening a water hose on a faucet and then you'll find out about its limitations!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Multitool of Six
I own six multitools (also custom Gerber 600, SOG Powerlock, a Bucktool, a Shrade Tough Tool and a Leatherman Wave) and I have to say that the Legend is the best one I own.

The Legend has many good points. All of the tools lock and can be opened without opening the entire tool except for, of course, the pliers and wire cutters. The replaceable wire cutters are the best ones going. I have had wirecutters fail. On the Legend you just replace them.

The handles are the most comfortable out there. They are the only spring loaded handles I have found. I especially like how the knife blade and Fiskars scissors have tabs to easily open them. The scissors cut better than any other. The short cutting area is made up by the superior cutting ability. I have cut plastic coated wire with no problem.

The only disadvantage is there is no traditional can opener, just a bottle opener. I have large hands so the size is no problem for me but it may be for some.

The Legend is the most expensive multitool I own but it is not much more than many others and it is worth the extra money.

5-0 out of 5 stars best tool ever made
This multi tool is so good that I had to think to myself is this for real! The tool is almost half the original price and I say worth every penny for the whole price. The scissors cut through my jeans, the spring loaded pliers are great, and the locking mechanism is wonderful. It is perfect for my big hands and is light too. Lastly the wire cutters cut through anything as well as the remgrit saw blade which is REPLACEABLE!This tool is the best off all time and I would recommend this tool to any heavy duty worker. I love it and I think you will to.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Gerber 600 is much better
I bought this for my boyfriend and promptly returned it. I was getting it for him to replace his lost 600. The things that we did not like about this tool were:
1) cheesy black grippy things that looked like they were going to come off if wet, and
2) you can't do the cool thing where you hold the multitool, flick your wrist, and the pliers extend with a satisfying little snap!
It's also a bit larger than the 600, so unless you have big pockets or don't care about size, you might want to go for the more compact 600.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost there, but not quite perfect.
I have three multitools - and I think I need them all since none of them do everything. In order of preference:

1. The Swiss Tool RS (Rescue and Survival)
2. This one - the Gerber Legend 800
3. The Gerber Pro Scout - stays on the boat.

Of the first two (Swiss Tool and Gerber Legend), the Legend is probably a better design but not nearly as well executed as the Swiss Tool. The Swiss Tool is a thing of beauty, its build like a watch. The blades are much higher quality - same as you find on a swiss army knife. The Legend is a better design - the one handed opening would be huge on the swiss tool but the Legend's execution is just not to the same level as the swiss tool. I'm getting a tiny wear mark on the scissors from the way they store in the tool plus the locks can be painful if you have to use the knife and really bear down.

I like this tool (Legend) for around the house projects. I especially like the one handed opening of the knife and scissors. Doesn't seem like much, but when you have what you need to cut in one hand, and you get your tool out with the other - it is incredibly useful.

Pros:
+ One handed opening.
+ strong, strong, strong pliers.
+ Great wire cutters. Excellent that they allow replacing the cutting edge. In my experience, this is where most multitools die when the edges get pitted and nicked.
+ good blade set of screwdrivers - 3 slotted, one phillips.
+ don't need to open tool to open blades.
+ Blades all lock in place.
+ nice scissors
+ spring loaded pliers - again very nice when you use them.

Cons
- pliers don't open wide enough,
- Case just doesn't cut it. Its cheap and I am constantly hooking the cover on things since it protrudes. Plan on finding another (not an easy task). This is a major beef.
- I don't like serrated blades for most uses. They are hard to sharpen - so you don't and they get dull. This one has a blade that is half straight edge, half serrated - neither fish nor fowl. This and the case are my major issues with this tool.
- no ruler (?!)
- saw seems like a good idea, but i would hate to cut anything of substance with it.
- Its a large tool, so it can be a bit of a handful.

The fit and finish of the swiss tool is superior as is the blade combination and quality. The swiss tool is heavier and longer. However it doesn't have one hand opening. Between these two, I have everything I need. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon.com's delayed my shipment four times
Amazon.com has delayed my shipment four times for this product. I am anxious to get it as it has good reviews, but we're onto about 6 weeks of delays now. I could have already received it had I purchased it at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Good drill, but POOR Amazon.com service on this one. I won't ever order tools via Amazon.com again. Amazon.com just can't cut it here.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Drill!
I am a homeowner/home handyman. I do a lot of projects at home, ranging from building fences and sheds to fixing the occasional lose piece of wood. I was in the market for a cordless drill to replace my corded piece of junk, and was looking at Black and Decker. Then I found Skil. This is an awesome drill, the Stud Finder is great, the "Site Light" is amazing, and the power and torque is incredible. Not to mention it's an 18 volt for 99 bucks at Lowes! I couldn't resist. The batteries last an extremely long time! All I have to complain about this drill is its case, which could be better. This is no Dewalt, but it serves my purposes. Oh, and the battery meter is amazing! I recommend this drill for anyone who is a private homeowner, but needs more power than the Black and Decker's. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Packing 14 individual tools into a remarkably compact, metallic blue, anodized-aluminum body, Leatherman's cool new CS4--a.k.a. the Glacier--is a midsize member of the company's exciting, new Juice line of multitools. Only 3-1/4 inches long, and weighing a mere 5-1/2 ounces, the Glacier really is small enough to carry comfortably in your pocket. Like other Leatherman tools, the Glacier butterflies open, exposing the needle-nose pliers/wire cutters/wire stripper, with access to three flat-head screwdrivers, a Philips driver, and a lanyard attachment--the same tools you'll find inside Leatherman's KF4 Solar. The Glacier's handles, however, harbor a different combination of tools that are perfect for picnickers: scissors, a can/bottle opener, corkscrew, a saw, an awl, and a straight knife. Like the entire Leatherman's Juice line, the Solar positively snaps into the open position, and the individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel. The Juice multitools do lack the blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click crisply into place and hold securely. Looking for a gift for your favorite technophile or gadget lover? You can't go wrong with the Glacier. Made in the USA. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best pocket knife in existence!
WOW! This is an absolutely extraordinary tool. There is no question that I would have to rank it not only as the best pocket knife I've ever used (by a country mile), but also as a definite contender for "product of the year" across categories. I'm the kind of guy who always carries a pocket knife in my back pocket; I've done so for several decades, and have been through virtually every one of the Swiss Army varieties, plus a couple of Leatherman Micras. Since I'm not working on cars or using this as an industrial tool, there's no way that I could (or would want to) fit a full-size Leatherman Wave into my pants pocket. I liked all the tools on the Swiss Army knives, and loved the size, quality and flexibility of the Micra. But then...

...ahh! I came across a Juice display at a retail store, and it was love at first sight! The Juice CS4 is, to my mind, the absolutely ideal combination of size, style, tools, build-quality and functionality that I have ever seen, and without a close second. Let's step through it:

The packageis bigger than a Micra, but much smaller than a full-size Leatherman; about the size of a medium-large penknife. The color is cool blue, which I happen to find quite attractive. The tools are everything you'd expect, and then some. There's an open-spiral corkscrew (the best kind), which actually has an "assist", just like a professional bartender's folding corkscrew. I have *never* seen this on any other pocketknife. The primary fold-out tool is a gorgeous pair of needlenose pliers with wire cutters (unlike the Micra, which only has a scissors), but it ALSO has a strong fold-out scissors on the side. NEAT!

Let's keep going! When it comes to screwdrivers, you just can't beat this thing: it has small, medium and large flat-heads, plus a Phillips (not a dinky flat one, but a real, 3-D one) and best of all, every one of these blades flips out from the center, allowing you to re-close the handles and have a superbly balanced, correctly proportioned, long-handled screwdriver; the best I've ever seen, without question. But don't stop there. This thing has a saw, a can/bottle opener, and an awl with sewing eye.

And a knife! A nice, loooong one that is the sharpest I have ever seen on a pocket tool. It has a solid, tapered blade that cuts through stuff like butter, making it a joy to use.

I realize, on re-reading what I've written so far, that it must sound as though I've gone off my rocker (or work for Leatherman, which, of course, I don't). I really am aware that one just isn't supposed to have feelings like this about a pocketknife! But all I can say is that I simply adore this tool, carry it with me 24/7, and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is simply the finest combination/compromise on size, style and functionality that you will find in a pocket tool (including the rest of the Juice line). It is more costly than most, but without question worth the price. Trust me on this [grin].

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice for light labor, but less usable than others
I have the CS4, the Wave and a Supertool. I wear my Wave on my belt all the time. This would be my last choice for carrying around on a daily basis.

The bad: Everything is stiffer than my Wave (even a new Wave). The screwdrivers are harder to get out, since some of the nail nicks are shallow and things start out pretty tight. The blade is short and none of the tools lock. Things are not as thick/robust as the Wave, but it is a Leatherman tool: build quality is high.

The good: Everything's small and nothing locks. This is a tool to carry around when you don't want to carry a Wave. It's got enough tools to handle most situations, including a corkscrew. (Yes, I got it for the corkscrew.) It's got enough stuff to be useful in a pinch, but isn't as generally useful as the Wave.

Basically, this tool won't displace my Wave for most days, but it'll be great when my wife won't let me walk around with a bigger tool.

If you're looking for a general multitool, I'd recommend looking at the Wave or Supertool before choosing this one. The CS4 is slightly more expensive but less usable. If you really need a small tool or the corkscrew, this would be a decent choice for your only tool.

2-0 out of 5 stars CS4 tools needs improvement
We bought two of this because it looks so great in the review and advertisement. After using it for a month, there are some flaws, which should be improved to make it a practical tool. Does anyone know what's the awl for? To us, it is too blunt to be useful. It should have sharper edge so we can actually open envelopes, remove staples, etc. The set of screw drives is comprehensive but take care not to exert too much force on them especially the small one, the tip WILL BEND. Anyway, it was be repaired with the other CS4 :-). If you are a Swiss knife user, you will find the Philips screw tip drive too big for common screws found in the office. Also, you should be real careful about the blade, cause it is really sharp... it hurts but we love it. If you are not too fussy about the strength of the tool, go get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little Multitool
I recieved this a gift and I can tell you that it's one of the best tools I've ever used. However, I do have two concerns. One is that the blades don't lock which means that if enough pressure is applied, it can hurt someone by folding in. As well, the saw has a tendency to fold onto the awl, I have to use quite a bit of force to make sure that it folds properly. However, the blade is really sharp and the screwdriver bits are the best I've ever seen. As well the tools open with a solid click which is somewhat reassuring. This tool is right for you if your looking for a small multi-tool that will be used for general not industrail use!

4-0 out of 5 stars Does Leatherman even have customer service?
Twenty Five Year Warranty! boasts the literature. Leatherman's warranty department was completely non-responsive to an emailed query re an anodizing issue. (The anodizing was chipping and flaking off of 1 of 2 I had name-engraved as Christmas gifts- admittedly a bit of a self-imposed problem, but one which deserved a response or reprimand nonetheless.) I ended up sending it (the email) about a half-dozen times, copying both their warranty and marketing departments. Zero. No response - nothing. I would have preferred they tell me to kiss-off, get a life, get a clue, quit engraving, buy a Gerber, etc., but to completely ignore a customer is poor customer service for which one has no recourse save for a forum like this. I have purchased 5 different Leathermans (gifts) and to be utterly ignored is most disconcerting.

As for the product itself, it is an invaluable tool which has become a part of my everyday life - a third hand if you will. I feel naked without it. I've noted that one half of the Juice is slightly wider than its opposite, which I find slightly odd, but typical amongst all like models.

So, c'mon Leatherman, if anyone is listening - please respond to your faithful devotees when asked! You're not the only game in town.

Lastly, at the risk of irritating the Amazon.com police, I've since learned not to have the tools engraved by an outside engraver, rather I now order them thru gunthergifts.com, a Leatherman authorized retailer and engraver (althought they seem to use an etch or perhaps some type of paint similar to what's already on the tool's logo.) Not sure about now, but they were cheaper than Amazon when I last purchased a month or so ago. Enjoy! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Built for the do-it-yourselfer, Dremel's cordless MultiPro kit delivers the versatility you expect from a Dremel--with the added advantage of being cordless. Lightweight at only 9 ounces, this compact unit maneuvers comfortably in tight spaces. What will you use it for? Remove old grout in your bathtub, polish your flatware, remove a broken tile, etch glass, hang miniblinds, cut out a pet door, install a new car stereo, sand off a spot of hard-to-reach rust, clean your boat's outboard engine parts, refinish ornate woodwork, install a mortise lock, and much, much more. The kit comes with 50 bits, including a high-speed cutter, a bristle brush, a cutoff wheel, sanding discs, a felt polishing wheel, a grinding wheel, and more--all the tools you need to tackle projects around the home. The tool's ball-bearing shaft affords minimal vibration. The shaft-lock button and unique knurled collet nut make changing bits easy, too, with no wrench required. A three-hour battery charger and a carrying case are included. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Extremely useful gadget
I have a line powered Dremel but I most often grab for this rechargeable unit because its easier to handle without the cord. It is great for tight spots in the car. I recently upgraded the intercooler piping in my car and needed to enlarge a 2" hole to 3" diameter. I just used the cordless Dremel to make numerous radial cuts and bent the "tabs" back. I would have gone nuts trying to cut that out with a hack saw or file! I always use it at the full 15 krpm speed and don't miss a variable control at all.

My friend lost his special "antitheft" key wrench for his license plate mounting bolts. I just used a cut-off wheel to make two cross cuts in the (round) bolt heads, and unscrewed it with a Phillips head screwdriver. Without a Dremel, it would have been tough.

The battery life is short, but I always have an extra charged battery ready. If I'm working with it alot, I just rotate the batteries through the separate wall mounted recharger.

It can also be used as a printed circuit drill or for other small precise drilling. Much easier to handle than a typical hand drill for light work.

It does kick up some metal bits so use eye protection!

3-0 out of 5 stars Useful for small jobs
Overall a good useful tool for light duty use only. Battery life is very short and the cutting wheels are delicate. I've pretty much destroyed all my wheels and stones putting the dremel to tasks which it obviously can't handle. The case is rugged and holds lots of bits and attachments.

I plan to purchase a corded dremel for those more ambitious jobs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cordless version has quirks - but does great job
Good: high speed+abrasive wheel cuts through ANYTHING, light durable feel when using, vast array of bits makes this a jack of all trades from cutting to polishing.

Bad: battery pack does not last very long, On/Off Switch is not definite (safety concern?), needed to buy 2nd battery pack while working a a bathroom project

This is NOT a drill. I see other reveiwers complain about this. If you want torque buy a light-dimming 12Amp Milwaukee Power Drill. The Dremel is an abrasive tool. If used intelligently it will do ALMOST anything you ask it to.

5-0 out of 5 stars An incredibly useful tool that even I can use without mishap
I'm not what you would call a handy sort of fellow; a few years ago, my greatest handyman-type success was the successful changing of a light bulb. Five years ago, I had never even heard of Dremel; now, I wonder how and why anyone goes through life without a handy-dandy Dremel tool. A few years ago, I got it in my head that I wanted to build my own working versions of Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, and Gypsy of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame. Such a project involves some tool-oriented activity, so for the first time in my life I found myself looking at tools. Since I know nothing about tools, I went about my business trying to look like I knew what I was looking for. I think every man responds to the siren call of the hardware department at some point in his life, but not until I found myself looking at a selection of Dremel products did I feel a strange lump of excitement in the pit of my stomach; tool anxiety had suddenly turned into tool excitement, and I gleefully returned home with this Dremel Multipro Cordless kit - feeling quite manly, I might add.

Exactly what does this thing do, you ask? Dude, what doesn't it do? It slices, it dices - no, wait, that's not right. This Dremel tool carves, it grinds, it polishes, it sands, it cuts, it brushes, it drills, it does darn near everything. It comes with 50 accessories in the form of abrasive wheels, drill bits, wire brushes, polishers, engraving cutters, router bits, and cutting wheels. I, being born with a passive tool-user gene, can't really tell what each accessory piece does just by looking at it, but I'm sure most halfway intelligent people can. I have fun just trying to figure it all out. What I needed at the time I bought my Dremel kit was a little sander tool, and even I could recognize the accessories made for that purpose. I soon had my proto-Tom Servo head free of jagged edges and was ready to delve further into my little project; this was just the first of many little Dremel success stories in my suddenly tool-enabled household.

The tool itself is a portable two-speed unit that comes with its own battery and charger. Whenever you get through using it, just plug it back up to let it recharge, and it's ready to go the next time you need it. It is light-weight and allows for different grips, helping to ensure you can pretty much reach whatever little space you need to get to with it. This model has two speeds - 7500 and 15000 rpm. That's pretty darn fast, and that high speed combined with the unit's low torque makes life pretty simple for you - the tool does all the work for you, making this the perfect tool for weaklings such as myself. Now, if you're into some heavy-duty work, the Dremel tool may not meet all of your needs, but for many odd jobs around the house and all manner of hobby activities, a portable Dremel tool is the way to go.

I must say that the documentation that comes with the kit is quite impressive and does actually describe each accessory and its proper uses. Of course, my being a man, I don't think it's legal for me to read a manual, so I just get by on instinct and luck. The kit also comes with a colorful little book telling you all sorts of jobs you can do with your new Dremel tool - if you have a significant other, you might want to keep this kind of information away from her/him. Even if you do get stuck doing odd jobs your better half would never have conceived of without the insight of the Dremel documentation, at least you can be comforted by the fact that you will have a lot of fun playing with your new essential Dremel tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost Flawless
This tool is small, quiet, and easy to hold, even for a woman. It doesnt kick back when it turns on or while you're working with it. When you turn it off, it stops its own rotation immediately instead of spinning to a stop. I got it for my boyfriend for Christmas.

Comes in a nice, compact black case that snaps shut, and even holds the manuals. One small complaint is that the attachments are left to float freely around the box. This can be corrected by using ziplock bags to hold them.

Easy to charge because the bottom of the tool pops off and fits into the charger, so the whole tool doesnt have to hang from your wall.

A couple of notes that would have helped me, so may help you- I thought this tool could be used as an electric screwdriver, but it can not. It spins too fast.

Also, be aware when looking at the Dremel tools that some are corded. I almost ordered a corded one, but decided on this one because of the convenience of use. Corded ones give you more power per price. I think this is the most powerful cordless model offered by Dremel. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing longevity. Really works.
I bought one of these at a drugstore seven years ago (totally on a whim) and it is still working. It picks up huge amounts of dust from furniture, window sills, and most importantly to me, electronics. Requires no cleaning solutions, no refilling or replacing of pads or cloths--just give it a good shake (outside) once in a while to get rid of accumulated dust and you're in business.

I don't know what it's treated with but when it's new it WILL stain fabric if you leave it sitting for too long, so be careful there. I've had mine for so long now that that isn't an issue. I stored it in its plastic case for about 4 years until the case finally split in half, now I just hang it on a peg in our laundry room.

I swear I don't work for this company and I swear this is a great item. You won't be disappointed. ... Read more
