4-0 out of 5 stars Jorgensen (2in1)clamps
I like these clamps alot, they work well one handed. They are ambidextrous and hold well. I don't know the load limit, but i'm sure I have held several hundered pounds with it safely. I would give them 5 of 5 but they pinched the web between my thumb and four finger releasing the presure once. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What you see is what you get
The description is just waht you get. Sure there are better knives ou there perhaps but not in this price range and this is about as much as anyone would want to pay anyhow. It does the job well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Dive knife
I gave it 4 stars because really for recreational scuba diving IMO, a 7inch blade is too long. The Shorter "SEAL Pup" is a better knife. That said, this is a pretty tough knife. Not as strong as the Strider WB or TAC 10/11, but still strong enough for recreational scuba divers. Those other knives are also way more expensive, like 3x this one. The sheath which isn't pictured here is very high tech. It holds the knife firmly, has lots of straps and loops for almost any carry position. So a better choice than those cheapy but flashy dive knives from US Divers. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Adequate For Light Clamping Chores
If these clamps are used as their design is intended (gluing up cabinet, drawer, etc joints), they perform adequately. The thumbscrew works just fine for applying the desired pressure. The adjustable head moves freely and effortlessly IF the bar is clean. Be sure to immediately remove any glue drippings that finds its way to the bar or the next time you go to move the head it will hang up. I used these clamps in gluing up a 2x4 laminated workbench top. This operation stretched them (and then some) to the maximum of their capability. Multiple clamps spaced closely together were required to press the bow out of some of my pieces. In retrospect, a heavier duty ¾" Pony clamp would have been better fitted for this particular job. But if you use these within their limits, they will perform for a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Woodworking essential
I have four of these clamps and I need about eight more. When it comes to achieving a strong solid glue joint, good clamping is absolutely essential. These clamps are easy to use with the sliding clamp head and can apply a strong pressure to the piece you're gluing. You can put a wood shim under the jaws to avoid marring the wood surface. The bar will rust if not oiled or waxed but a little steel wool will clean it up. The 36" will handle most clamping needs and the price is low enough to allow buying enough for uniform clamping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Woodworkers wife
I am buying some clamps for my husband for Father's Day and thought the Quick-Grip clamps would be good. My husband said they are convenient, but if you really need to squeeze something tight go with a good old fashioned clamp. He likes these (24" and 34").

5-0 out of 5 stars Good general purpose clamps for the price
These clamps are a good cost effective way to accumulate a collection for making cabinets, without going broke. The bars do flex a lot under high clamping force, but usually this much force is not needed for glued joints.

I have 8 of these right now in various lengths and will add more later.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Strongest Clamps I've Used
There is a saying in woodworking that you can never have enough clamps. Well, these are the clamps we are referring to when we say that.

These clamps are terrific, with incredible strength. You get good leverage on the thumbscrew -- incredible power with minimal effort. If, for example, you glue up a bookshelf and the shelves have some separation from the walls, these clamps will bring them nice and flush, and hold them that way until the glue sets.

The only thing you have to remember is that, with this kind of strength, you have to take a couple of precautions. First, you should be careful not to OVER-tighten the clamps. If you're clamping up boards to make a wide panel, for example, you want to tighten just enough until some glue squeezes out -- beyond that and you could warp the board. Also, you have to pad your wood before tightening. All I do is use a 1/2" thick piece of scrap wood wedged between the clamp mouth and the project wood.

If you do a lot of woodworking, I would say that you have GOT to have a whole stack of these ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Drywaller's Mate
The only reason I own this little gem is for drywalling. It fits in my pocket so I can whip it out to plane down drywall sheet edges quickly. That's important when your trying to fit them in difficult places like corners and closet ceilings, especially if you're standing on a bench or some other awkward position. It smoothes those edges and removes stock in a hurry. It pays to keep some extra blades around, though. Moisture combines with drywall dust to corrode steel, so the blades can rust between jobs. I wouldn't start a drywall job without this tool. Thanks..!

5-0 out of 5 stars Tune up your drywall cuts
This tool is a must for tight drywall joints. It will scrape the rough edges right off and you'll have an easier time finishing. I don't use it for wood , although I suppose you could if you had a new blade.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Cool Tool
This little puppy does about anything you need for shaping, forming, planing, and carving. If you need to cut something down to size quickly, then this is the tool for the task. It might look like a cheese grater, but the blade handles about any material - wood, drywall, PVC, car Bondo, countertops, and even aluminum. The nice part is that you never have to sharpen the tool - just buy a new replacement blade. I don't like to put my block plane on just any material, and it takes some time to keep the plane iron sharp, so the Surfom makes for a really versatile substitute. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Standard Tape
I was looking for a small tape measure to use in the workshop thats not too heavy and won't see heavy duty use. I liked this unit especially because it had centemeters, which I use for small projects. I was somewhat unhappy when I opened the box to discover that my actual tape measure had inches only. It appears that Amazon made a small mistake and placed the picture of product #30-496 the centermeter model into their ad of the #20-495. At this price I don't care too much. I gave it 3 stars because a 5 star tape would have to have a titanium case and blade that never breaks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great tape measure
Nothing fancy, but it does the job great. Small size, no problems, use it all the time without problems. I recommend it highly.

2-0 out of 5 stars Amazon shipped wrong tape measure
The tape measure pictured is great. My last one lasted several years, and the neon green makes it easy to find when I leave it laying around the garage. However, the two that I just received from Amazon were NOT neon green as pictured - they were just plain 'Stanley Yellow'. On top of that, one of them had a broken lever right out of the package - now I get to figure out how to return them.... :-(

5-0 out of 5 stars Best little tape measure...period
I own a small metalworking shop. This particular tape measure has been used everyday for the past 6 +/- years. To this day it pulls out easily, locks and holds the tape then "zips" back into the case when unlocked. Even after being dropped and abused.

Being bright green also helps to quickly target it, especially when it gets misplaced.

I wouldn't trade my little tape for anything.

Looking for a small 12' tape? You just found the best. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars They sure don't make them like they used to
I had the old neon leverlock tapes for over 6 years. Until I used them to do outside work in the mud they were the most dependable tapes I had ever owned. Unfortunately, they're no longer manufactured or available anywhere and they replaced them with crap.
The new leverlock has some major flaws. Among them are; excessive play in the hook end, uncomfortable new case (too rounded), leverlock looks and feels flimsy and doesn't look as though it would survive a drop from an 8 foot ladder although i didn't get a chance to test a drop. This did not have a chance to fail from the previously memtioned gripes. The tape was stepped on and tore in half instantly. Extremely unusual.

I recommend you stay away from the new line of leverlocks. The only good ones were the Neon models from years ago. If anyone knows where to find the Neon Leverlock Tapes (25' or 30') new, please post it here.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lover of the Old Tape
The original Level Lock was far better. My old tape finally broke after may years of use. Without question, I went back to Stanley for a new Level Lock. My new lever lock is always sticking in locked position and the last four feet of tape rarely zips back in without help. The old lock system never failed me but this one... I even tried to repair the old one but of course Stanley changed the tape and spring system....

Off to find an old stock of these or a new tape...

1-0 out of 5 stars old style leverlock was much better
I do estimates for a living and spend a lot of time measuring. The old style Leverlock was far superior to this new version. The button that allows the tape to either stay locked or reel back in seems to have a mind of its own and makes it difficult to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars All Others Primitive by Comparison
As a homebuilder I use a measuring tape on average a hundred times a day or more. Convenience and ease of operation in a tape measure is critical. . The locking and unlocking of the LeverLock rule is virtually effortless. A gentle squeeze on the bottom of the tape releases the rule and then smoothly locks the tape when pressure is removed. Another effortless squeeze allows the tape to quickly retract. I can move my tape measure from tool pouch to work area and back in one fluid and efficient motion. The tape saves a great deal of time with absolutely no time, I mean no time, spent fiddling with the locking device. The LeverLock system far surpasses any tape rule device I have used. The standard locking device on other rules are primitive by comparison. I'd never use another type of rule.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple and effective
Great tape measure. I love that I can just pull it out and not worry about trying to push a lock down. The only problem that I have encountered it that where the tape retracts into the case there is a lot of friction. This is due to the lever design, the black lever pushes the tape into the case. This is what takes the place of the locking mechanism. Anyways, this friction has worn down the ticks on the first 3 feet of my tape. As a result I find it very difficult to get an accurate measurement in these first few feet. Other than that I am completely satisfied. Would never go back to a 'traditional' tape ever again. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great knife
This is a very nice knife.

As was mentioned it is sometimes difficult to change the blade, you need to make sure push the blade ALL the way out and then press the blade release button. The spare blade holder is nice and big, I have about 5-6 blades there. The string cutter doesn't seem to work all that well, so I ususaly just use ther enitre blade to cut string.

4-0 out of 5 stars great knife idea
This is an excellent knife, I have owned more than 20 in my career. (there must be many homeowners who own them now because of my absent mindedness) I would only say there is one knife better than this. It would be the Craftsmen knife of the same design because the Craftsmen is made of aluminum and weighs less and has a sleeker feel. If you can't get to Sears this knife is the next of kin.

4-0 out of 5 stars Quick change at its best
Great design by Stanley so you don't have to take it apart to change blades. The little storage area for blades is neat too.

The blade change isn't totally intuitive so it would help if they put something like this on their packaging: "Push down black retractable blade button and push all the way forward past the detent so the button stays pushed down. Then push in the silver side button and pull blade out."

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I used it to cut some ceiling tile and rubbed off a big section of paint on the handle near the blade; they should have nickel or chrome plated that section instead of painting it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Knife
I have one of these Stanley Sheetrock knives, and I love the thing. It is so much easier to use thatn the old ones you have to take apart, and the really great part is the blade storage area. Granted the clip for the blade storage is prone to break, but usally only if you drop it off a ladder. I've had mine for about nine months now and it still works like a charm. The only real drawback with the knife is that when you are cutting insulation, the little rope cutter will grab the insulation and rip it while you're cutting, but, for my money that's a small price to pay for all the help it is. It would be nice if Stanley would put one on the market that doesn't have that rope cutter.

4-0 out of 5 stars A solid utility knife
This is a very good knife, it makes your job a lot easier, you don't have to open the knife to replace the blade, all you have to do is pull the old one out and put the new one in. It is sometimes kind of tricky to do, this is why I'm giving it a four out of five, otherwise a great reliable tool by Stanley. ... Read more
