5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased
Unit started on first pull and has done so every time since.I chose FREE shipping method of delivery. Only took 10 days. I was expecting to wait a month or better. I have split about 2 cords of wood so far, some hard wood but mostly pine. It has plenty of power for my needs. Even split a few tree rounds 40 inches in diameter with no trouble but that was (easy to split) pine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice machine
I rent a log splitter every year and then HUSTLE to get all the wood split in two days. By the end of those two days, everybody is pretty sore and beat up. I finally decided to get my own so I can split wood at my own pace. This machine is well designed and easy to use. The Honda engine is quiet and started on the very first pull! I split some large oak and while it does slow down on the hard stuff, it doesn't stop. The ram and wedge seem very durable. I don't think this splitter is designed to run for several hours on end. For that kind of use, the next size splitter is probably better. But, who wants to split wood for several hours on end anyway? This is a great deal.

Recieved this spliter after almost 2 months. It works like a dream. It started on the first pull after filling with gas and oil. Buy this you will love it.

Recycled wood is wonderful to work with, but you run the risk of damage each time you machine it. Old nails, screws, and fasteners will wreck expensive planer, jointer, and saw blades quicker than a wink, but the Lumber Wizard can keep that from ever happening in your shop again. A metal detector for your wood, The Lumber Wizard locates metal buried in wood up to 6 inches thick. In addition to the sound alert, you can plug an earphone into the jack or set the unit to vibrate instead. A smart designer engineered the handle with a little bend in it, so you won’t be dragging your hand along the wood surface, a small touch we appreciate. For about the cost of a good carbide blade, you’ll be saving yourself countless ruined bits and blades. And that makes the Lumber Wizard is a smart investment.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

Features

  • Nine-volt battery is required (battery not included)
  • Detects metal in all types of woods up to 6" thick--including particle board and solid woods
  • Features a low voltage vibrator, which alerts the user when metal is detected
  • Pinpoints exact location of metal objects
  • No calibrating, no measuring, no guessing

5-0 out of 5 stars The new model is fantastic. It saves my tail almost daily!
I bought the new Lumber Wizard III a couple of months ago and it has been the perfect detector. After owning the first version for a couple of years I've found the new version to be much better. it is stronger, very reliable and has held up to daily use. I own a restoration shop and use a lot of recycled wood. The old version was tempermental and sometimes needed tuning but the new Lumber Wizard III has been 100% reliable. I also bought one for my father in law and he too is very happy with the new version. From my point of view this is a tool only a fool would be without.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money if you have lots of wood to check
I upgraded to the lumber wizard after having really good success with the smaller (and cheaper) little wizard from the same company. This is similar to security wands at the airports, but more "woodworker" friendly (you don't have to scrape your knuckles to get close to the wood since the handle is raised - and its half the price of the others). The vibration feature is really nice to have when the workshop gets noisy. I had to fine tune it when I first got it, but haven't touched it since (nearly 3 months). It's super sensitive, but when you get it tuned right and move it slowly and thoroughly, I doubt anything metal would get past it. Much faster to use than the little wizard as well, since the scanner area is much bigger. Well worth it if blades and time are important to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Glad I got one before I had to buy planer blades.
Easy to follow instructions. A little sensitive to tune in but once tuned ln I checked 30 to 40 ft. of 1X2 oak with no problem. This wood had three quarter inch long finish nails in it. I thought I found them all till I ran the Wizard over it. I like the long length and offset handle on wide boards so your knuckles dont scrape. Light weight and wide scan path make this product easy to use. Little price to pay for what it can save in nicked tooling. This is the updated Lumber Wizard III.

5-0 out of 5 stars They improved it with an upgrade
This is a revamp of a previous review. I wasn't sure whether to order one after reading the other reviews, and after visiting the Wizard web site. Well I broke down and ordered one, and I am glad that I did. I noticed that they eliminated the large adjusting knob on the face of the unit. The plastic form pack and instructions that it is shipped in still have the bulge, where the knob used to go, and the cardboard placard still has the instructions on how to use the missing knob. Before it had the large fine adjusting knob, and a recessed fine adjust screw what was used to get the large knob within adjusting range.
Adjusting is simple now. With the single recessed screw, you simply hold it up in the air and turn the screw until it starts to squeal, then back it off just enough for it to get quiet. Now you are at the maximum sensitive setting. It is intuitive and simple enough, that you don't mind, setting it, every time you use it.
Next I wanted to check the accuracy of the unit. I took an aluminum screw and parked it under a 2x4. When I passed it over the squeal rang out. Good there, then I put the screw under two 2x4s, and it didn't find it. Hey if it is buried 3" deep, I wouldn't normally need to be concerned about it. The instructions call for passing over both sides of the wood, so that would cover even a piece of metal inside of a 3" piece of wood. Then I went over to a piece of 3/4 oak, and put a small brass screw under it, it rang out. Then I put it under two 3/4" pieces of wood it rang out again. Under three it failed to notice it. So the unit is great for depths up to 1 1/2".
The other thing worth mentioning is that this is a rather large unit, with the last 7" containing the sensor area. Since the sensor runs along the length of the unit, as compared to across the face, you get much better results, when making a pass that brings the length of the piece of metal into the length of the sensor. So you want to be sure and pass the detector over the same area at right angles to one another.
Sorry for mentioning the obvious but the larger the piece of metal, the easier it is to detect.
Pertaining to the battery holder, I noticed that a reviewer was having trouble with that. I don't know if that was improved over the earlier unit, but the way it is now is great. It removes easily, and reinstalls easily as well. You simply push in the tab and it pops right out. When reinstalling it, you simply push it back in until is snaps in place. I expect to get a lifetime of dependable use out of it.
The manufacturer suggests that you remove the battery when it is not in use, so that is why some people were not getting a lot of use out of a single battery. With the ease of removing the battery, makes this a no hassle procedure. Simply put, you don't mind having to remove it.
In conclusion I have to say that I now highly recommend the Wizard Detector. It is easy to use, works dependably, even when testing it on different pieces of wood. Considering the price of buying an airport security level of detector, makes this Wizard a no brainer. I don't know how it worked before, but this new upgraded unit does the job I was hoping it would. Buy it you won't be sorry.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Under Ideal Conditions
This tool can be made to work, and can save blades. But, it is far from perfect. Keep a test board with a known nail handy, and swipe it occasionally during use. Otherwise, the tool will drift off sensitivity, and you won't know it until your $$ carbide blade tells you... The tool is VERY sensitive to humidity, which is fine if you're in one of those spiffy shops that Fine Woodworking is always featuring, but if you're under a tin roof shed on a humid, rainy day, trying to turn salvaged heart pine siding into flooring, well... just forget it. ... What a super compact size—it looks like a toy and drills like a beast. At just about 3-1/2 pounds, it's like a feather to hoist overhead, but there is absolutely no sacrifice in torque, delivering 350 inch-pounds. We like the speed range choices, from 0 to 400 rpm in low gear and 0 to 1,400 rpm on high. The keyless chuck operates smoothly, and you get a flawlessly secure bit grip every time with the ratcheting mechanism. The grip is comfortable, and the whole tool feels supremely balanced for all-day comfort. It would be perfect for cabinet installers and HVAC ductwork because of its compact size, but we also think it's a great choice for the homeowner, especially those with smaller hands. DeWalt construction is rugged and durable, so you'll have this little worker around for years and years.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

Light as a feather and mean as a junkyard dog, DeWalt's18-gauge brad nailer is a heck of a tool. We like the fit and feel ofit, and DeWalt wins points from us for putting low-nail indicators onthe side and the top of the magazine. The sliding depth adjustment isfantastic: just unlock it with your index finger, slide the adjustmentwith your other hand, and you're ready to fire. Like DeWalt's othernail guns, this model has a nice plus in the 360-degree swivel exhaustcap that directs the flow away from you. Great pad, too--it didn't maranything to which we introduced it. We like it. --Kris Jensen-VanHeste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well designed nailer
Boy I like this nailer. I have owned it for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I've never had a misfire. It drives 2 inch nails with ease. Best of all it's light. I used it for window and door molding and cabinet work. This gun is easy to load, and easy to change the depth of the shot.

Some nice features are:

1. As the nails run low, an indicator appears to show that you have 6 nails left. Then it moves to show a countdown to show when you are empty. It's nice not to have to open the magazine to see how many nails you have. And of course the indicator that appears is yellow.

2. You can direct the exhaust airflow anywhere you want.

3. If the nail jams, which has only happend when I hit something below, the head easily opens so you can extract the bent nail.

I also have the 15 ga. nailer and would highly recommend both of these. I've also recommended this nailer to 2 friends and they have also had excellent results. Way to go DeWALT!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dewalt Brad Nailer
I bought this nailer aprox. 6 months ago from amazon. I love it. I have been using it 5 days a week. I bought it based on my satisfaction with other Dewalt tools. I have not been disapointed at all. I plan on buying the 15 gauge angled head nailer when my current one gives up the ghost.

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good nail guy... but...
I bought a DeWalt nail gun near the end of last year. Since then I've driven several boxes of nails with it, mostly without any hitches. I've used it nearly every day for building cabinets and installing mouldings. This is my third brad nailer. My first one was a Senco SLP20, a fabulous gun. I never had any problems with the Senco other than the safty being on the front side of the driver... that made it difficult to shoot nails at a bit of an angle if needed. My only other complaint about the Senco was its limited capacity in length of nails, 1 5/8". After the Senco was stolen out of the back of my truck I bought a Hatachi brad nailer... the DeWalt was not yet on the market. Overall, the Hatachi was a nice quality gun and had the 2" nail depth capacity I really needed for my work. However, it would often double fire on me because the safty was so sensitive. This problem occurred so much I finally gave it to my son (a weekend warrior) after the DeWalt came on the market. I was real excited about the new DeWalt brad nailer because of the nice features, particularly the design which put the safty behind the driver. It worked flawlessly right out of the box and I almost never looked back. At the time I was looking at the DeWalt gun I was also considering the new Senco gun that shot 2" nails.

Now after about six months I'm beginning to think I made a mistake buying the DeWalt. A recent problem has occurred that's quite troubling: The gun stopped firing and recycling properly. I thought maybe at first it was due to a blown O-ring or something like that. The only way I could get the cylendar to return was to uncouple the air hose. Then, I could shoot one nail before having to uncouple the hose again. Needless to say this was a pain in the rear. Another son, who is also in construction, told me he encountered the same propblem with his DeWalt brad nailer... which was even newer than mine. He was finally able to get his to work by adding oil to the driver and guide after opening up the quick release mechanism. I tried this, but used a super thin lubricant instead of the oil that came with the gun. It didn't work. Later I went back and it fired fine for about 10 shots and then stopped again. I've let it set for a couple of days now and just tried it again. It seems to work fine now, but obviously I'm concerned because I don't feel I can rely on it when doing a job on site... and that could really cost me time and money. So, I'm once again thinking hard about buying yet another brad nailer, the newly designed Senco 2" gun. I've really liked the DeWalt, but am concerned about it's relyability. I'm also put off because it may be necessary to buy a third nail gun in less than two years... this is getting expensive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tough as Nails
I just bought this nailer at Home Depot several months ago for our trim crew. We specifically use 18G bradders for shoe and other small moldings. This unit is the best we've ever come in contact with. The guys tried the Porter Cab tools and they don't seem to have the power to set nails and they don't feel nearly as durable as the Dewalt. The depth setting mechanism on this tool is tops as well

5-0 out of 5 stars Even Tougher
Addition to previous review. Left this gun in pickup for last 2 days (rained for 48 hours) and this baby still works!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Vrey good brad nailer
I bought the Senco 25 brad nailer last week. The decision between the Porter Cable and the Senco was difficult, I finally based the purchased on the wider range of brad lengths for the Senco and the oil less design . I have used them both and operation between the two is very similar. The Senco is [$] more and can't shoot into tight spots like the Porter Cable can due to the location of the safety nose.I did like the better construction of the Porter Cable, its part steel and part fiber resin, it appeared to be more durable, the no-mar tip is especially nice, and its very easy to see where you are shooting . The Senco is constructed almost totally of fiber resin materials and I wonder how well it will hold up to being dropped. The Senco power boast it awkward to use,the no-mar tip is too flexible and line of sight for shooting takes some getting use to. Either gun is good, the oil less feature is nice if you tend to to over oil your tools like I do.If your on a budget go with the Porter Cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars love it love it love it !!!
I've been waiting years for this nailer to come out. While waiting I have bought and used several other 2" brad nailers. Not one compared very well against Senco's brad nailer, The SLP 20. It operates so much more smoothly , it isn't even funny. The oil-less design was revolutionary. Not only is it more convenient, it saves your work from oil stains. Still, I knew that Senco would one day produce a 2" brad nailer of their own. I also knew it would be the very best. I have to say ,it was worth the wait. Everything about it says quality. It carries all the best from the SLP 20 and improves on it. From the first brad you drive you will know just how good it is. Sooo smooth. No kick back like the other guns. Sooo powerful. You will never wonder if it's going to sink the nail. The adjustable depth of drive and exhaust are the icing on the cake. I also like the rubbery grip. It's very nice to hold. I have had no jams but if you ever do , they are easy to clear. Top it off with a hard to lose no mar tip and the ability to drive 2 1/8" brads and you have the best brad nailer at any price , bar none. Plus it's made in the U.S.A. all for just a few more dollars than the "cheapies". My imports are now for sale.

2-0 out of 5 stars jam-o-matic
this got to be a joke from senco. i own a brad from hitichi, porter cable and now senco. after 5 shot of brad nail the gun jam every 5-6 shot. for the money i thought this was a well engineer gun, maybe senco lost their touch. if you don't mind wasting time changing jamm nails this is the gun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome,light...No jams
One thing i hate is a brad gun that jams!!! I love my senco fp25xp. I never owned one before, and never knew what to expect after getting it. After hearing all the nitemare stories on nailers that jam, or break down on the job, i decided to do some reseach. well, it paid off!!!! This nailer is just plain awesome. Its very light, comfortable to hold, and i shot over 1000 brads without a single jam, or breakdown. Futhermore the gun loads fast and easy. it's only 18 gauge, but you should see the wood this thing shoots thru...Thank You senco!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best one out there IMHO!
I purchased this with the XP41 15gauge finish nailer. This brad nailer has worked great for me as has the XP41, no jams, wide selection of nails. lot's of power. I have used it for baseboards and door casing. I have not needed to use the turbo setting, it also pretty quiet, my other brad nailer is LOUD! ... Read more

With a robust 6-1/2 horsepower engine, this sturdy little gas mower is ideal for mowing big or overgrown lawns. A single-speed front wheel drive system propels the unit forward on its own without compromising maneuverability in tight corners or turns. An innovative Triple Care feature allows users to deal with clippings in one of three ways: collect them in a rear-mounted bag with 2-1/3-bushel capacity; discharge them through a side chute; or apply as a natural lawn fertilizer via the included mulch kit. A deep-dome, 22-inch cutting deck and patented mulching blade elevate and chop clippings so they decompose more rapidly--the waste is so finely cut that it disappears into the lawn for a clean, neat look. Hefty eight-inch wheels roll and maneuver easily for less effort on your part. The nine-position fingertip height adjuster fine-tunes cutting elevation from one to 3-1/2 inches for a variety of lawn conditions. Two handles fold down for convenient transportation or compact storage. The Yard-Man 11A-435D701 comes fully assembled with oil in the carton, and is covered by a two-year limited warranty. --Mary Park ... Read more

I HAVE AN OLDER MODEL SMART LEVEL AND IT QUIT WORKING. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD "JUNK IT" AS IT WAS A SEALED UNIT AND COULDN'T BE WORKED ON. iT SEEMED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AS IT WOULD COME ON AND THEN GO OFF LET IT SIT FOR SEVERAL HOURS WITH NO BATTERY AND PLUG IT IN AND IT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF.

i ASKED FOR SOME TYPE OF REBATE ON THE NEWER MODEL AND WAS TOLD JUST GO BUY IT AND PAY FULL PRICE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Product for the Novice
I am a home owner and handyman. I needed something to help with chores around the house. Laying out walls and working in my garage. I have a standard 3' level that serves me very well. It came to me after reading the reviews on this level how nice it would be to add the sound so you don't have to stare at the bubble.
One review made mention of the end caps or lips on the level. I found a very small build up of paint on one end. Once the unit is put through the zero setup procedure, this build up should not come into play. A piece of sand paper on a flat work bench to "lap" the end would fix it. Agreed, this would "blemish" the looks of the paint, but it would make it true from one end to the other. I for one, could not send the tool back because of this.
I am impressed with the quality of the level. It's easy to zero in and accuate once set. I found that even the pitch was very accurate. I can see that if I was a builder by profession, this would be a great addition to my daily used tools.

Nice Product...

This has been the 'tool of the century' for us to be able to accurately measure the slope and cross slope of an accessible route as it relates to the American's with Disabilities Act. Furthermore, with it's reasonable price, we can easily recommend it for purchase by contractors, architects, and facility managers to assist them in assuring the proper construction within the required design parameters of the ADAAG [The ADA Accessibility Guidelines]. Our hats off to Maclanburg Duncan for their product.

2-0 out of 5 stars Niced features, bad customer service
I was familiar with their older product. I used a friends a few times and liked it, so I bought this. They changed the design in in doing so, have made it of a cheaper quality. The old design was a brushed aluminum with grips that were very useful. The new design is flat bar type aluminum that is painted.

I put the level on my table saw top to calibate it. I noticed a gap under the level. The frame of the level was not flush. The reason is the end of the level had a small ridge on it causing the level not to sit flat.

I called their customer service and they were friendly. However, I would have to pay shipping to return it, and then pay a shipping and hadling fee to have it returned to me. I would think they should pay for their error, not me.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for ADA survey professionals
The Macklanburg-Duncan 24" SmartTool is the fastest, most accurate way to measure slopes and cross slopes of ramps, walkways, and parking areas for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. One big improvement over the older SmartLevel instrument is that the calibration function is much simpler and much faster. Since it takes less than a minute, I can ensure maximum accuracy by recalibrating the SmartTool at the start of each survey job. Also, I particularly like the hold function which allows you to freeze a measurement, then pick up the tool to take a reading. If you do a lot of ADA survey work, this tool will pay for itself quickly. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Refurbished a great value
I just received this saw from Amazon today after shopping for quite some time. My original pick was the Skil Mag worm drive saw but I like the features of this one better. The direct connect is a great idea. The tool hook they refer to in the specs doesn't show up in the pictures (it's NOT the hook you see below the handle, that's to hook the cord onto.) The tool hook is a folding piece of round bar, very heavy duty & looks like it's sized to hook on 2x framing material. The picture shows a blade with it but doesn't specifically mention it but it does come with a 24T diamond arbor Bosch blade. My unit came looking brand-new except for a couple of small nicks in the paint, I'm verry happy with the condition. [...] Also in regards to the Skil brand which is owned by the same company as Bosch, it mentions releif bellows & an oil level indicator. This saw does require oil for the gear box but it has a plug you must remove to check the level.
Overall I am very excited to use this saw, I have built a few decks over the years in addition to home projects & can't wait to see how it performs, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. One other note: I own a Bosch jig-saw & it's also the finest one I've ever seen. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but...
I bought this stapler new, and I must saw the thing is beautiful to use. I use it for framing so the thing gets a lot of use every day. The only issue I have with it is the magazine for the staples is made of plastic. I did not think it was a big deal until one of my employees let it slide off the roof we were sheating. The magazine broke cleanly in two. The rest of the stapler is very well built, but I think that the magazine should be made of some sort of metal, say magnesium or aluminum. This would make a good stapler, the best stapler in my opinion. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool for the Money
I had the opportunity to use both this tool and the Porta Nailer manual floor nailer during a recent job. Both tools were new, both were solidly constructed and of good quality. The Bostich proved far superior to the Porta Nailer due primarily to the ratcheting feature on the Porta Nailer. This does not fuction well and is a poor design. The Porta nailer would leave cleats half driven or fail to release the cleat from the nailer after the cleat was fully driven. On the Porta Nailer side of the job we spent alot of time on our knees with a nail set trying to set cleats. We were forced to pull up a few planks becasue the cleats could not be set or removed. Eventually it was faster to just use the Bostich than waste man hours with the Porta Nailer. POSTSCRIPT _ It's a great value for the money - over ten big jobs without a hitch.

4-0 out of 5 stars Extreme do-it-yourselfer
I bought this based on reviews at amazon.com. Overall, I really like the nailer. It takes a little getting used to and you have to hit the striking button very square. I also like that it drives slightly bowed planks firmly into place which eliminates the need for clamping. The biggest problem I've had is finding nails. Amazon.com is the only place I've been able to purchase them. None of the big hardware superstores in my area carry them (4 different companies), nor any of the lumber yards, hardware stores, etc.. So, Plan ahead and buy plenty of nails online and don't wait until the last minute to restock. I'm in the middle of putting down over 2000 square feet of 3/4 inch hardwood and am very please with this tool's performance. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still buy this nailer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Manual Flooring Nailer
This is the first time I have put down tongue and groove hardwood flooring. I did a quick search on the internet and found this nailer for a decent price. I coulnd't afford the pnuematic ones because of cost plus I don't own an air compressor. First overal impression was its sturdy construction, it's very well built. This should last me for years if I ever decide to lay hardwood floors again or if my friends need to borrow it. The mallet that is included is very robust and the weight and balance allows you to impart a nice blow to set the cleat. I have had a few times where I didn't give it a hard enough blow and I didn't set the cleat all the way down. This is the main complaint of this tool I found on the internet and some people prefer the ratcheting manual nailers. But, the complaint of the racheting manual nailers was it would jam if you tried to set the last cleat. The Bostitch has set every single cleat every single time. Hasn't jammed once. So, if I didn't set the cleat all the way on the first blow, I just grabbed my pliers and twisted the cleats head off. Didn't even try pulling it out. The head would fatigue right off at the wood level and I would set another cleat right next to it. So I guess for me, take your pick, take time to fatigue off the cleats unseated head or take time trying to unjam a nailer. In my opinion, a nailer shouldn't have problems with jamming and tools tend to get broken when this happens. Once getting used to the amount of force required to set the cleat, I pretty much set them every single time now. The flooring I've used is pre-finished and I haven't had any problems with marring of the finish from this tool. Also, with the heavy mallet, I can really get the wood up tight to the previous line. If I did do this for a living, I could tell that it would start to stress my wrists and tendons, hence thats the main advantage of the pnuematic nailers. But for the price, I'm quite pleased. I'm really impressed with the results of my floor. Hope this helps

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Flooring Nailer
I purchased this nailer as an "experiment" from a local hardware store that had it on clearance. I had previously checked for reviews here and found none, so I had no idea what kind of nailer it would be. My only base of reference was experience with a Porto-Nails 401P that I used on several occaisions (borrowed from another guy on the crew). I was not especially pleased with the performance of the 401P, so I had decided I would not buy one for myself, and, at this time, a pneumatic nailer was out of the question because of their prices. So the MFN200 seemed like a decent compromise. Upon initial inspection, I was impressed with the all metal construction and the feel of the nailer, it looks and feels like a tool that has the durability and construction to stand the test of time in the field (something that I did not feel with the 401P). First use has been an absolute joy! It drives the L-shaped cleates smoothly and positively with one hit (it doesn't have the ratcheting mechanism like the 401P). Some like the ratcheting of the 401P, but I have found that the lack of this feature on the MFN200 doesn't bother me a bit, even in odd positions for striking the tool. And my output has increased as well. Comparing the L-shaped cleats of the MFN200 and the T-shaped cleats of the 401P, both are serrated so in my own estimation, the difference in holding power will be insignificant. My biggest satisfaction has been that the MFN200 will drive every cleat in the magazine until it's empty. The 401P I have used was never able to do this. The one negative comment I do have is that it does not have the variety of different shoes available like the 401P (I haven't checked with Bostitch, though. Just this site). Overall, this is a great nailer if you can strike the tool solidly using either arm. In my estimation, it is far superior to the 401P and anyone on a budget will appreciate the price compared to a pneumatic nailer. Spend the few extra dollars and own a tool you will be satisfied with. ... Read more

Don't confuse lightweight with light duty. If we had to assemble a basic tool kit for a homeowner, apartment dweller, or do-it-yourselfer, everything we'd choose is already right here. Now, just because they're smaller and easier to handle, don't assume they can't get the job done. The 7-ounce hammer will drive a nail just like a 20-ouncer, but without the wrist strain. We like the lifetime guarantee, always a plus in our book. Speaking of books, a great little guide comes with the kit and fits neatly in the case. Last but not least, the translucent blue case is cool—a place for everything, including the included assorted hardware, like picture hangers and wall anchors.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Loved it, but...
I bought this 30 piece kit and loved it. It's got it all. The only thing is the levels and meassuring tape have magnets on them. The tools are magnetized too, so I have to be very careful not to rest them on anything electronic. But it's a great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Kit!
I bought this kit several weeks ago, and I am so happy with my purchase!! It has everything I need to get all of the things done that I have been meaning to do. I hung 2 pictures, and also new curtains in my living room. I was actually quite proud when I got the job done!
The how to book is great, and done in a fun way!
I am now motivated to try a bigger project.... will keep you posted!!

5-0 out of 5 stars my wife is now a "do-it-herselfer"
I recently purchased this wonderful Barbara K toolkit for my wife so she would stop nagging me to do things around the house. Now she does most of our home repairs without needing my assistance. It's a huge weight off my shoulders since we recently purchased a "fixer-upper" home. The tools are great quality and the spring-assisted pliers make using them very easy. 5-0 out of 5 stars Not that scary!
Recently, I have to do a tought plumbing job. I was worried if I was going to be able to jack-hammered a 4 inch concrete floor. We went to a tool rental place and got the Bosch Brute Hammer. In the beginning I thought "is going to be a scary kind of job". But I was wrong. In a few hours I was able to complete the whole job. The vibration was not bad after all. It is not a tool that I need on a daily basis, but is was a good help for me that day. Also, the hand truck was great with all the tools orderly in place.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Power
This workhorse wont let you down and will perform like a dream. Watch the video that Amazon provides, it's cool...and informative.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool-Worth every Penny
If you want to save time, back aches, etc. get this tool. I wish I would have sooner. Highly recommended. It's very dependable

5-0 out of 5 stars dependable and gets the job done.
I have used this tool to demo a flagstone/concrete patio and about 80 feet of sidewalk. I first tried the sledgehammer/prybar route, but that was too slow and tiresome. I got the job done by myself in less than 8 hours with this tool. It is quieter than gas/air powered hammers, but I still wore ear protection. It is easy to operate and not very fatiguing-the most tiring part is picking it up and setting it down. It is heavy, but I could lift it into the trunk of my car by myself. With 2 people lifting it is a breeze and the cart makes transporting it very easy. I ran it hard all day and it never complained- and this was a pretty beat up rental tool. I highly recommend this tool if electricity is available-it is much more convenient than gas and compressed air hammers. Plus it is powerful and durable enough for all but the biggest demolition jobs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended-Worth every Penny!
My company rented this a few times and we can't live without it, so the company bought one and everyone on the site loves it. I have several contractor friends on other sites and they too rave about the Brute hammer. This hammer really is a life saver. When you use this tool it sure cuts down on the time it takes to complete a job. Be sure to get the cart, it sure makes life easier. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Traffic Collision Investigators -- you need this!
The Machlanburg-Duncan 92346 SmartTool Module Only is an excellent, handy tool for determining grades to add or subtract to speed/velocity formulas that require this information. The module is small so it is easily portable. If I can avoid all those formula conversions to get % to degrees and vice versa...trust me...I will do it! This is one of the best tools in my t/c tool chest!

5-0 out of 5 stars Why measuring angles digitally is better!
The Macklanburg-Duncan 92346 SmartTool Angle Finder is only 6 inches long, which allows it to be used in small places. You can get the angle reading even when you have placed the tool in a position where you can not read the display. You simple place the tool in position and press the Hold button, then remove the tool and read the display. The digital readout is easy to read and is accurate to 1/10 of a degree. With an analog angle finder the best you could hope for is plus or minus 1 degree and it would not be able to be used in the above situation. If you need to measure a long object, you can mount the SmartTool Angle Finder in a Macklanburg-Duncan brand 6000/6500 level. On top of all this it is weather and water-resistant. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I bought this product and own it...
The other review seems to be from someone who doesn't own this product. I own it.

It did take some time (about 6 weeks total, since that is the lifecycle of mosquitos), but our yard is now almost completely mosquito free. It works.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good luck with this...
Ever been to an outdoor party where everybody gets bit by mosquitos? Having this handy little invention is kind of like inviting one more person who won't talk to you and who you pay to come, you still get bit, and so does he... or she... or whatever. Useful? Maybe a little, but not significantly (don't expect it to clear your yard of biting insects). The only solution to the mosquito problem is to move somewhere dry and arid, or to live with it. But to those of you who can take mosquitos no longer (and can't move), take heart---the more you get bitten the less your body reacts to the chemical that mosquitos use to thin your blood (the chemical that itches). So hang in there, maybe someday they will pack up and leave. ... Read more
