Not worth it
I actually picked this up at my local tool store. I needed a blade to rip some plywood cleanly and the price was right. I thought that with this blade I could avoid the hassle of my corded circular saw.

As I was purchasing this, the salesman raised his eyebrows and expressed some doubt about the blade. He was right.

The thing ended up being virtually useless. The cuts took forever and the saw screeched like a stuck pig as I tried to push it through the plywood.

To be fair, I guess it is possible that the problem resides with my particular PC cordless circular saw (it's refurbished) and that the problem is not the blade. However, given that the person I bought the blade from had expressed doubts, I think it's the blade. ... Read more

Satisfied and Having Fun!
I suppose it is all in your perspective. I bought this tool with these criteria in mind: it should let me make compound angle cuts in wood up to an inch thick. It should be easily adjustable and accurate. It should let me get a lot more use out of my circular saw. It should be safe. And my personal favorite: it should be "fun to play with" because I like to experiment and try all sorts of different ideas.

I have found the MAC cutting board fills all those criteria and then some. I make all sorts of things and I use it constantly. Some of the things I've made recently: mailbox shaped like an A-frame ski chalet, laminated wood kaleidoscope with over 50 pieces of wood, 10 identical picture frames made from pine molding, a jewelry box made from crown molding. Every one of them was easier to make, for me, because of the MAC board. I don't own a table saw. And I don't generally make large items that would require one. For the smaller things that I make, the MAC board serves me well for both the angle cuts and for the straight cutting operations. I use it for both cross-cutting and ripping and it has been a lot of fun figuring out just what it is capable of. I am now starting a series of trays which will feature a zig-zag lamination and everything will be cut on the MAC board with my circ saw. And I'm positive it will be accurate, or as accurate as I am, of course.

The one thing that keeps the MAC board from getting 5 stars from me is the fact that it's made of plastic, rather than cast aluminum. I have never had a problem with it, strengthwise. It is certainly more than strong enough to support my saw, and of course, that's all it really has to do. I'd like to see it made from metal, but now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't add anything to the tool's strength, but I know it would add a lot to the tool's price. So maybe plastic is ok, after all.

Anyway,if you are interested in a tool that can help you install crown molding in a house, or make picture frames, or cut a bunch of wood all at the same angle; then the MAC board is a good choice, unless you -want- to spend megabucks for a sliding compound miter saw. If you do, have at it! I can't say anything bad about those saws. On the other hand, if you're like me and you don't have a whole bunch of money to spend on a compound miter saw, this little "toy" is pretty slick. My 2 cents.

Disappointed
I was pretty excited when I ordered this item but after using it for a few months I'm pretty disappointed. The problems I encountered are:
- time consuming and difficult to adjust the board
- difficult to line up cuts
- final result is inaccurate cuts
I can't believe I wasted forty bucks on this when that could have gone towards a basic compound miter saw. Save your money and skip this one

Looks (photos) are deceiving
The photos of this item make it look like it's constructed of silvery aluminum - appearing sturdy and rigid. Well...its 1/8th inch thick gray plastic and pretty pliable. I doubt that it would survive a 3 foot fall on its corner. Above and beyond that disappointment was the fact that mine arrived with all the assembly hardware missing. Not a bolt or washer in sight - just 4 sad pieces of plastic and a piece of plywood.. Avoid this item...clearly not worth the money and the headache.

Don't Buy Other Manufacturers' Hex Shank Chucks
I have used the Makita and Stanley, and they are junk compared to the DeWalt. The BIG difference is that the collar on the DeWalt is spring-loaded so that you just push the bits in and they lock in. All the other brands that I have seen, you have to pull back the collar manually (a 2-handed operation) to insert the bit. The device is sturdy and a time-saver over other brands of similar function. It cuts tile
What can you say about a tile cutting blade? It cuts tile. Worked a hell of a lot better than the used blade I replaced. The edges are much smoother. Beginning to look a bit worn and tired.
My cutter has cut everything from balsa to hardwoods, and even some wire and plastic. After two years it really isn't worn out, but I am now ordering a replacement-- just in case I need it in the next year or two. In answer to the last reviewer who wonders what bits are available to fit Dremel tools. If he would use the universal chuck he could use any bit he could shove into it down to sub-miniature bits like I use to drill holes through toothpicks used to make small parts on ship models.

A GERAT CUTTER FOR USE IN PINE
I needed something that could cut through wood like butter and I found it! This great carbide slotting saw cuts through pine like nothing! If you take enough passes, you can cut right through! This bit hogs out alot of material. So if you like to use it for hobby work or if you need something that will hog out slots in wood quickly this is the one to get. In fact, I have almost used mine up to the point where I think it's time to get a replacement! I peronally reccomend that you use it in pine. it really lets the wood chips fly!

Nice assortment of grits. If most of the work done with the Contour Sander is done with the contour "bits", a general assortment of hook-and-loop sanding sheets is all that is necessary. Keeping it in place
The D-Vise has become one of the more useful pieces of equipment in my Dremel arsenal. Sometimes you need both hands to work the tool, and you need something to secure your crafting piece. Although I feel that just about any good vise would do an adequate job holding my work pieces, the D-Vise does have a few advantages to it that most bench vises lack: it's relatively small, and it can swivel to just about any desirable angle and elevation.

One drawback is that, despite it's relatively small size, the D-Vise wasn't made to be portable. When I'm doing Dremel tool craft work at various locations, that can be a hindrance. I've gotten around this by securely mounting it to a wide, sturdy two-by-four, and when I need it, I securely vise-grip it to a temporary workbench.
